What a great find! I had a terrific lunch over at Roses on Adeline. Arrived right when they opened at 4pm and sat right down at the bar. I met the lovely Aurora who took great care of me from start to finish. This spot had a great happy hour and i definitely took advantage of the HH drinks. I had two for 10 bucks a piece, such a great little deal. Initially I wanted a burger, but if there is raw fish on the menu, all other thoughts leave my brain. So, of course, I had to grab the ahi tuna bowl. and my oh my, that was delicious!!!!! So many places with tuna, don't serve it with Won Ton chips, but Roses on Adeline got the memo! I love a won ton chip and these were giant and perfect with my fish. The fish came in a lovely sauce. So perfect! Such a great spot! The one thing I'm always looking for when I go out with my fiancé is good food, good drinks, and a cozy vibe with great ambiance. And what a nice surprise it was to have Roses on Adeline hitting the mark on all 3. We've been to Roses on Adeline twice now, once as a walk in and the second time with reservations. Both times we went for happy hour. Their drinks are creative and yummy. The smash burger here is absolutely delicious. The fries w/ sriracha aioli is also the perfect light bite. But beyond the good food & drinks, the ambiance here is really what brings us back. I love the vibe this place has and am so excited to have this as our new local staple for a date night. I had eaten dinner with the fam before meeting up with friends for drinks here so didn't get to experience too much, but I was very happy with the things I did get. The spring milk punch was SO GOOD. Like, way too drinkable. I usually like to try multiple drinks on a menu, but I just kept ordering this one. For a snack, I decided to get the crudite platter even though when I asked the server, she said it would just be lettuce, radishes, and something else... it turned out to be so much more! Endive, super sweet purple snap peas (which I've never seen before??? and now want to grow in my garden because they were like the best peas I've had in a while!!!), radishes, and some carrots. We split the chicken sandwich and burger and both were delicious. Atmosphere was great and the waitress was exceptionally friendly and engaging. Overall SUCH A CUTE PLACE. It is quite small but it def gets packed. The service was okay but to be fair it was busy, with that in mind, I'd probably give this place another chance. My friend was visiting and we wanted to get some drinks and dinner to catch up. We started off with fries and got a few of the cocktails each. It was quite watered down but even the flavor itself was subpar. My pasta sauce was also watery which was underwhelming. I was excited for the burrata on top but there was barely any and I think any type of cheese would have thickened the sauce a bit more but it was kind of bland. It was difficult to flag down a server (but still giving grace on how busy it was). Good place to have a nightcap !!! Its a bar and bites place where it is located away from the crowded area in Berkeley. Parking is available and It is very clean spot for a good chat with friends.. the staffs are very friendly which i believe the reason why alot of people who comes here are locals and regular!! I am literally obsessed. From the decor, cozy furniture, immaculate service I received, to the decadent and creative food and drinks I tasted, this is a must try. The tuna tartar was my favorite. It was balanced, fish was tender, sauce was flavorful yet not overpowering, and it had grapes in it! The bread and butter came highly recommended from our server and I completely understand why! My cocktail- the money- was literally my favorite cocktail I've had all year. The cocoa nib infused tequila, with passion fruit, Thai chili and a chocolate chili rim.... A 'Rose' by marriage, I've had so many friends send me recs for this spot in Berkeley, and finally was able to try with a group of friends. Roses is the type of place and space that is everything I dream of when I think of the perfect spot to enjoy and imbibe ~ the ambiance is vibrant, open, and lively, exuding an elevated atmosphere that you can't wait to enjoy. The staff is incredibly fun and helpful, you can tell they all have a good thing going. And the food and drinks...double yum. Drink-wise I did the Adeline Spritz ~ deliciously crisp. They have a wide selection of amazing cocktails, and wine/beer/NA options/chilled shots, and more. Food-wise we ordered a bunch of items to share including: Heirloom Tomatoes & Corn salad, Double Smashburger, Fried Chicken Sandwich (katsu-chicken style), and the Rigatoni alla Vodka with Burrata. Chef's kiss all around. The salad was light and incredibly fresh, loved the touch of burrata in the pasta making it extra creamy and comforting, and the Smashburger...I can't wait to be back again for this alone. The bun has toasted black sesames, and the sandwich comes with shredduce, American cheese, caramelized onions, and their own special sauce. A must-try ~ I had my own half because it was so perfect. Looks like there is a HH from 4-6p on food and drinks, and one of the best parts I haven't mentioned yet..this spot stays open a tad bit later than the norm: weekdays until 10p except for Thursdays at 11p, and Friday/Saturday until midnight. I would check the hours ahead of time, and also leave time to find street parking (it's a busy area) or grab a ride share so you can indulge a bit. All in all, so refreshing to have a place like this in the East Bay that checks all the boxes for me and a night out with the girlies. This has become our favorite place for happy hour! Being in the bay has a ton of things that makes it the best place to live, but it is also extremely expensive. Things like a snack and a drink can quickly cost $40. Finding this bar has reunited our love with going out and socializing in public, instead of having to do it at home to avoid $20 drinks. The happy hour here is our favorite. We've tried the vegetable crudités, the sweet potato fries, and a bunch of their drinks. I appreciate that they have multiple options for vegetarians- it can be hard to even find snacks these days out. Our favorite drink by far is the Pimm's cup. When we first visited we tried a bunch of drinks between us all. After our second visit, I now strictly get Pimm's cups. They are delicious. The bar itself is a cozy and social setting. The stained glass window behind the bar is absolutely gorgeous. The waiters are always kind and nice. We will continue to make the drive just to hang out and have a good time here. This is what we need in our neighborhood ! This place felt so welcoming and people seemed to piling in. Glad we made reservations on a Saturday night. Service was wonderful because everyone participated, meaning the host, the server, the bartender, all came to our table and were very attentive but not overly so. I had the Dashe Zin ($13/glass) and my wife had a cocktail ($16) followed up with Rigatoni in Vodka sauce ($22) for me and Crispy Tofu Tacos ($19) for Andrea. If you can manage to find someone who finds you attractive, and the two of you can muster up the energy to put on something nice, gussy yourselves up a bit - Roses on Adeline is the date nite spot for you. Dining room shaded in dim seductive lighting; a sinuous flow to the room- caused rather happenstantially by inconvenient support posts; live plants, mirrors and paintings on the walls abound. And that bit about wearing something nice, don't worry about it, you're in Berkeley, everyone dresses frumpy. A pair of the Chelsea boots and a North Face jacket is as dapper as it gets. Roses has a nice cocktail list. The mixology revolution of the early 2000s shows no signs of fatigue. Also available are some wines by the glass, albeit not very interesting ones. Which might not be a bad thing. Look at it this way: you're not having to spend excessively to get your date liquored up. I like the abundance of vegetable dishes on the menu with a focus on Med - often Levantine and North African - flavors. Filling a Cal-Arab hole in the East Bay caused by the departure of Reem's and the ignominious end of Penrose. Case in point, a carrot dish. Sluiced with ample lebna; topped with a meteorite shower's worth of toasted pistachios; topped also with a shaved carrot and cilantro salad. A well seasoned dish with a clear and bold concept that ultimately disappoints you. The roasted carrots, focal point of the dish, weren't roasted long enough. Instead of a meaty fully caramelized carrot, you get a starchy one with too much crunch. (I only had it once so this may very well have been an anomaly). I like their take on the Cesar salad with grilled wedges of green cabbage, which would have been better if the cabbage were hot. The house made Cesar dressing was heavier on garlic and lemon than anchovies (Sapphic sisters beware). Crisp fried mushrooms were a fun twist from the usual crouton. read more

We stopped in for a late night bite after an event and it was the perfect way to end the night. They have some parking out front and inside they have bar seating and tables. We were a group of six and they sat us right away. The team here was very friendly and patient with us as we made our food and drink decisions. I ordered a Pim's cup and the rest of the group ordered some fun cocktails. We also shared a variety of food items with the table. We ordered a couple of the burgers, a chicken sandwich, rigatoni, and their tomato and corn salad. I thought everything was delicious, and I'm glad we shared so I had the chance to try more of their menu. Staff was great - fun, fast, and joked around with us like we were already friends. TBH, they made it seem like a fun place to work. Our food and drinks came out quickly and we opted to share dishes family style. For my drink, I got the alcohol free Passion Flower ($9). It's a spritzer with passion fruit, ginger, lime, and soda. I wasn't sure how much I'd like this because I'm not usually a huge fan of ginger but this was delicious. Definitely recommend this if you're looking to still have a fun drink without having the alcohol! For food, we tried: + heirloom tomatoes & corn ($18): pretty good - a solid balance of corn + tomatoes as expected (and by that I mean, if you're like me and really want the corn, it's not as corn forward as you might like) + rigtoni alla vodka with burrata ($22): my favorite of the night! I could've had this without sharing tbh. + double smash burger with sweet potato fries ($19 + $5 with fries): my second favorite! solid smash burger and the sweet potato fries were so easy to snack on. + fried chicken sandwich ($21 + $5 with fries): more of a katsu style fried chicken. I was on a neighborhood walk last month and discovered that I had a new neighborhood bar, so obviously I had to check it out! I went recently with a few friends and we sampled a few items from the menu. I ended grabbing a double cheeseburger with fries which was excellent. The fries were crispy and salted well while burger was juicy and filling. The staff were friendly and attentive and even gave us free jello shots towards the end of our stay! I celebrated my birthday here on Saturday night and it was awesome. Could not want more from a local bar/restaurant. The place is well designed with that hip mid-century modern vibe. Love. We tried every one and some better than others, but all really good and while strong, not lip puckering so. End that night with the brandy slushie, with poprocks and all. That chocolate budino for dessert was rich and decadent. And they have pavlova! Who has pavlova? They do. Not my favorite, as I'm team chocolate, but the table enjoyed it. Of all the dishes, I'd probably not order the meatballs again, as they were pricey and not necessarily the star of the menu. Regardless, I gush. I also got the sweetest card from the team for celebrating my bday. They do have happy hour. And again, live music every weekend with seemingly a DJ on Fridays and live music on Sat. I'm a huge fan. One of the best things about this place is people set their phones down to engage in conversation! It was noticeable. We shared the potatoes which were smoky and delicious, followed by tomatoes and corn which had a cheesy undertone and then a spicy chicken sandwich. The sandwich had a zip that lingered on our tongues. The Old Fashioned was slightly sweet with a soft orange aftertaste and the spicy margarita was made with real limes instead of sweet and sour mix, the rim had salt and tajin. Highly recommend.
