Per usual their portions were generous, the food was fresh and everyone left the lunch full and happy. The taco bar came with hard tortilla shells, corn tortillas, shredded chicken, carne asada, black beans, romaine lettuce, cheese,pico de gallo and sliced limes. When I ate at La Burrita while attending the University of California, Berkeley for graduate studies a number of years ago, I appreciated the proximity of this Euclid Ave location to the building my office was in (McCone Hall). Some of my comrades thought the food a little bland, however, I found with the pickled vegetables and salsas the food was more flavorful. Workers were helpful and professional in my experiences. Depending on the time of day, the inside could be packed or have a number of tables open. Chips tended to be fresh and crispy. Best part, though, is their salsas! Along with that, it was pretty greasy from the carne asada on them. The Quesabirria tacos were full of flavor, but the consome that comes with it was a little too salty for my taste. I usually try their regular (classic) Burritos, and they are not bad. they have a good selections of Mexican Pickled Vegetables (Escabeche) and Salsa. They have a nice and cozy patio outside. But one thing to be aware of is that they have a separate 3% service charge which I couldn't see they disclose it anywhere in there, and according to my chat with Gemini and ChatGPT: "... restaurants can continue to charge service fees, such as a 3% surcharge, as long as they ensure these fees are transparently disclosed to patrons before any transaction is completed... this means that any additional charges cannot be surprises that only appear when the bill arrives; they must be included in the listed prices or clearly communicated upfront". My wife and I ordered an enchilada dinner and a burrito here recently. We got it delivered by doordash, and together with tip that came out to nearly $40... crazy times. The enchilada plate was food, but pretty small, with only small sides of rice and beans and the beans were pretty bland. My burrito was very small for $14. I'm talking something like a medium tortilla sized ordeal here. Really underwhelming. The saddest part was when I cut into it... it was probably 30% by volume sour cream. No joke. The majority of this burritos filling was rice and sour cream. I have no idea why. I had selected chicken asada as the meat, but they must have misread that as "fillt his thing with sour cream"... or something like that. With all that sour cream there wasn't really anything else to taste, it was just bland and mealy. I have recently become SUCH A FAN of La Burrita. As a Mexican-American, I tend to avoid Mexican restaurants for fear they won't taste enough like home. I avoid burritos especially, since they're more of an American meal than a Mexican one. Here's where I become a total hypocrite. I have ONLY had burritos from La Burrito, because I think they're that good! Even the smalls are quite large, and the price is unbeatable. I dipped my toes in the water with the small bean and cheese. It was so flavorful, I came back and went all in with the large shredded chicken burrito. Equally good, especially with the tomato salsa drenched on top. The cheese is an ESSENTIAL component. Don't skip out!!! Bring Lactaid if you must, I've got enough to share. Not many go north to Euclid, and thus miss out on this award-winning Mexican restaurant. Award winning? Yes, best burrito for several years. Naturally, I had a burrito. Specifically, the cheesesteak burrito, which has gooey cheese and no beans. Unusual, and not exactly Mexican. I don't care, it was a tasty concoction. Very tasty beef, and large slabs of green pepper. I guessimate it at 10" wide. The only problem I had with it is that its juice drained all over my shorts as I ate it at Sproul Plaza before the football game. To get to La Burrita, you go through a small courtyard with several tables where you can eat outside. This courtyard is shared with two other restaurants. It doesn't try to feel like Ensenada. 1 plate of free chips with your order. The food is around $1 more than at a cheap dive or taco truck. Plenty of tables to eat inside if you wish. Used to live on Southside of the UC campus. Southside location is next level delicious, Northside just possibly had some of the worst tacos in California. I got a fish taco and a pollo asado taco. The fish taco had a piece of (previously frozen) fried fish, which was cold, and the cabbage slaw was either pickled or totally past its used by date. The pollo asado taco was flavorful, but it came with cold shredded cheese, lettuce and tomato. Which was not listed on the description on snackpass. Speaking of snackpass, the prices on snackpass are about $1-$1.50 more than on the board in the restaurant. The burrito itself was pretty good for the $5.59 I paid for it, but the chicken wasn't very flavorful and it was a bit overcooked, and therefore dry. I arrived at 6:15PM and ordered a chicken asada plate for $8 and waited about ~10 minutes. There were about three people ahead of me, so the food came out pretty quick. I got my food to-go but decided to to eat at the restaurant since I realized I had extra time. The restaurant is pretty spacious, so you could come here with a group of 6-8 people and still get a table together. The rice, beans, and everything was so bland. They tomatoes were the most flavorful, which was strange and disappointing because tomatoes already don't have much flavor. I loaded my plate with Tapatio to give it some flavor. I often buy two burritos at a time, so the same lady would stamp my card twice each time. But today I went and bought two burritos from a younger girl. And she only stamped the card once. When I tried asking her about it, she rudely said "it's per purchase" even though the card is clearly based on burritos. I tried to ask her again nicely and explained that I would always come and get two stamps at a time and she completely ignored me.
