This isn't legit mexican food at all and if you really want fake mexican food, just go to chipotle. I had the large sized carne asada burrito and when I got it all i could think of was "if this is a large then the small must be tiny!" Anyways, the burrito itself lacks in girth and the ingredients are compartmentalized and don't blend well at all. The salsa bar is above average and the horchata does taste like, well, horchata. Low quality, cheap food. It's open late. It might give you a heart attack after eating too. It's not "BAD" food. As in, it tastes okay, except for the fact they put way too much sour cream in the burritos. The pollo asado has a lot of flavor. I'd avoid anything "wet" or "nacho'ed". It makes everything soggy. this is my favorite mexican restaurant. really cheap and i think authentic tasting. i really like their chips too. i would much rather eat here than chipotle. food comes out really quickly too. i would recommend getting it to go cuz they don't have a lot of seating, but if you really wanted to eat there, it's not bad either. read more

I don't know if they have been on their feet all day or are just normally like this. Regardless the the Carne Asada burritos are pretty good. The Euclid location is worse. It is nice to see a place that offers small or large burritos to suit different appetites (and lunch budgets). But everything else about this place sucks. I had to tell the cashier my order three times, and not because he couldn't understand me. He simply wasn't listening. After my first attempt to order, he said, "what," and then began talking to the other employee just as I started to repeat my order. And even the third time I don't think he was listening. In any case, my burrito arrived with black beans (I ordered pinto) and lots of lettuce (I asked three times for them to hold the lettuce). La Burrita is pretty dang good, especially after a night of drinking. This location does it even better than the North Berkeley branch. I tend to order their super nachos because for the price, they're the best bargain. Service is minimal and smiles are rare, but the food is good! read more

La Burrita is possibly some of the worst Mexican food(if you could even call it that) i've ever had. I used to say that it was a late night bastion of cheese covered mediocrity, but that--i've come to realize-- is giving it way to much credit. In the case of La Burrita, in fact, it's almost an award. "Oh, but the nachos are so good" fans of this place will say when you cite the incontrovertible fact that their meat is reheated in microwaves and that the burritos are nightmarish, tortilla encased slumber parties of guacamole and sour cream colored goop. I can't believe that the place is run Mexicans/Central Americans too. I would love to ask these guys if this is what they cook at home...if this is how Mom used to make it. I doubt it. It's a good thing that Berkeley has a constant supply of visitors and students who don't know a lick about good Mexican food, because this place would be out of business. You should only be so luck to be blacked out when your night of drinking Winner's Cup Vodka lands you at this haunt. read more

ok so i walked to la burrita craving nachos. i expected to be decently satisfied since i was hungry all day and anything would have tasted good, but boy was i mistaken. first off, they microwave the cheese. yes. MICROWAVE it. i expected a cheesy nacho sauce, not some dry shredded cheese "melted" on to my nachos. by the time i was eating it, it was all clumped together and it did not taste good. second, all the toppings (salse, guac, and sour cream) they put on side of the nachos, not all over. (maybe i'm just pikcy) but i like it all over my nachos. by the way, the salsa was not fresh. it was literally off color. last, the salsa bar. i do give kudos for having such a variety but it looks like it has been sitting out all day. i dont waste food and i just threw away 3/4 of the nachos because they tasted so horrific--on top of that i have a stomachache which im sure is from the daylong salsa that must invariably be rarely changed. the little i can say that makes this place good is A) large portions B) it closes late. perhaps it's because i've only eaten the nachos here, but i will not be going back here for a while. i can get better mexican food from the taco cart in front of campus. read more

After two bad experiences in a row i'm never going back there. The first was I ordered a shrimp burrito and all the shells/tails were still on the shrimp.
