L B Nails is a solid nail spot in the East Bay. It's a quaint little nail salon tucked into a busy parking lot and can often go unnoticed. The employees are very kind, they have reruns of Britain's Got Talent playing in the background at all times with no commercials, they have a good selection of colors and options, they are clean, and their prices are reasonable. So why the 3 stars? The quality of the service is not the best! I'm not sure if they were having an off day, but when I got a gel manicure and a pedicure, the quality was bad. I did not receive even a minuscule, tiny massage for either the manicure or pedicure which is standard in all salons. The application of the nail polish wasn't even or good. The whole thing felt rushed, and the quality simply wasn't the best. All that being said, I would try L B Nails again to see if they improve because I really did love the employees and the prices! read more

I'm not sure what the rest of my Yelp nail divas have been experiencing, but this was anything but a five-star visit. I wasn't offered tea or water or anything like several other Yelpers mentioned... and I did not receive the kind of quality work that I saw on the website. As much as I want to rate them higher, I just can't. Everyone in the salon was very nice, but these folks can't do nails well at all. I broke a nail earlier this week and I came in for a repair and a polish change. The first lady, who calls herself LeeLee, did the most horrific job of a stiletto nail I've ever seen. It was thick, crooked, poorly shaped, and grossly uneven. Another lady, who calls herself Lee stepped in to take over (her real name is Ngân... I know this because I showed her a picture of what I wanted from their Yelp page, and she told me that it was her work). Honestly, she wasn't much better. She mercilessly filed one side of my nail until she was filing bare skin. The nail was ridiculously crooked and for some reason she just couldn't see it. She was getting close to getting it right, but then she just got frustrated and sorta gave up. I showed her my other nails and told her that I wanted the nail she was repairing to match my other nails... So instead of trying to continue fixing it, she gets the bright idea to start trying to file the rest of my nails so that they look like the one nail she's messing up. Ummm... No ma'am. Finally, I asked her to put more acrylic powder on either side and try reshaping them again, but the same thing kept happening. She relentlessly filed one side of my nail while blatantly neglecting the other. The owner came over and tried to tell me that it was because of the shape of my natural nail, and tried to show me her nails in comparison. No ma'am. First, our nails were in no way the same shape or size. Second, the tip of my natural nail had broken off with the acrylic nail when I broke it, and what was left of the natural nail was trimmed straight across by LeeLee before the fresh acrylic was applied Finally I ended up having to take the file and fix it myself. It's not perfect, but given the circumstances, it's acceptable. Stressful nail repair a side, this place is grossly overpriced. Thankfully the owner decided not to charge me for the repair; only the polish change. However, the polish change itself was $25. Seriously?!! For polish?! I can only imagine how much would be if I had gotten a fill-in with gel polish. Good grief! I don't mind splurging on my nails, but that's just ridiculous. I bumped the rating up a star because they *were* very nice and very patient with me. My GPS took me completely in the wrong direction and as a result I was very, very late for my appointment. The owner's husband stayed on the phone with me and navigated me to the shop. I was horribly lost, but he stood outside the shop and called out every single landmark he could help me find the place. I really wanted to like this place more than I did, and it's unfortunate that I didn't have the same experience as everyone else here who gave the salon a 5-star rating. read more

I went to L B Nails as a walk-in around 5:45pm and they closed at 7pm. I wanted to get a dip manicure and gel pedicure and they were super accommodating and had me seated right away. I wasn't able to get names but the gentleman who works here did my dip manicure and I've gotta say - I'm in LOVE. They have an amazing selection of color and there was so much attention to detail! My gel pedicure was great too and wasn't rushed. The one thing I wish was longer was the massage but hey, don't we all? It's been about a week since I went and my nails still look brand new with no chips. And the price is highly reasonable compared to what I was paying for my regular place in Milpitas. 100% going back here! read more

Thought I'd found the right nail place for me, but unfortunately after my last TWO experiences in the salon... it's safe to say CHOP SHOP. I'd recommend a nail technician over this place any day. First experience: I left there with so many cuts on my hands and toes! Not even because I said "ouch" loud and multiple times did she care to stop and concern herself about cutting me. Second experience: The pedicure was decent, still a couple cuts. My hand unfortunately were a disaster! She didn't allow me to go wash my hands and continued to complain as she worked. I left there highly disappointed because she did her own style on my nails then tried to dust/wipe it off with a dirty brush then proceeded to put topcoat on my hands because she wanted to go home therefore I was super rushed out the door. Got a manicure and pedicure and powder dip and they did a wonderful job on all. Both manicure and pedicure they did a good job on cleaning cuticles. For pedicure did a good job removing dead skin on foot pad and were very careful so there was no pain. They paid attention to detail on dip powder. Best pedicure in the Tri-Valley!! I came in on a weekday and Lisa greeted me with a smile. She was very patient and careful with cutting the cuticles during the pedicure. She asked me if I like the water temperature and kept me comfortable throughout the whole time. The pedicure was about 35 minutes and it was very refreshing after a long day. I felt very welcomed and pricing for services are reasonable and affordable. The nail salon is pretty clean and the I like how they have a sign up saying they use new liner, new buffer, new sponge, and new filler for each customer. That give me an reinsurance that they are doing the right thing. I believe that they do take walk in's daily and only closed on Monday's. First time customer as a same day appointment. I dropped in to LB Nails as I had tried to get in with my regular nail gal (at another shop) all week and felt like she kept putting me off. The set came out nice enough, although with a little more time I think she really would have nailed a nice set (pun intended). My pedicure was very relaxing. Disclaimer: this review is not for the nail services but for the waxing services. I came by a few weeks ago because my go to place in the area was booked solid, as was my back up spot. Driving around the area, I decided to give this place a try. I asked for the full arm wax service. I'm not sure if this was her first time, or if she was inexperienced, but she waxed my entire arm, very slowly. When I asked her if she was going to wax the top of my hand, she said, "Oh you want to do that too?" In all my years of getting waxing done, I've never encountered anyone who was going to skip waxing the top of my hand unless asked. While she was waxing my arm, she dropped wax all over my pants. Ugh. To top it off, she ripped the wax off the delicate inner elbow area and bruised me almost immediately. Now I've had some bruising for waxing that wasn't done carefully along my eyebrows, but NEVER on my arms. This might have been one of my least favorite waxing experiences if not the worst. Again, I can't vouch for the nail services, but I'd suggest steering clear of this place if you need to get a wax. read more

I walked in today for a pedicure. A lady worker greeted me and asked what I needed, I told her and she asked if I wanted to come back because it would be about 30 minutes as to which I replied no and I waited (not even that long at all!!). They had me sit in the pedicure chair and use the massage controller. 2 other workers took turns to make sure I was comfy while I waited. One of the lady workers finished what she was doing to come help me with my feet and was fast and efficient. She helped me choose my color and went straight to work on my toes. When I went in, I got nickeled and dimed and left pretty upset- I don't mind to pay whatever the price is, however when the employees try to trick you, I don't think it's fair for the consumer(s). I didn't have any extra asks or add ons either; I simply switched from one color to another. I would be weary of this prior to going in. Otherwise, the service was quick and the salon is clean. I went back to get A broken nail fixed, and the guy in the very front couldn't find the correct color and he was getting frustrated with me because I couldn't remember the color. He made me feel very uncomfortable and as if he didn't want to fix my nail. He made the new nail look completely different from the rest. The first time I had a broken nail I went in and I wasn't charged for it but I left a three dollar tip. Which I think is reasonable. This last time I went they wanted to charge me seven dollars for one broken nail. That's ridiculous when the first time I went in they didn't charge me. I think it is absurd to pay seven dollars for one broken nail, and I told the lady that, and she was like fine we can make it five dollars. The guy in the front is horrible with naills. Paraffin relaxation pedicure is what we picked up and was extremely relaxing with the massage chairs and welcoming staff. We called in 40 mins before closing and they welcomed us without hesitating. We were at the Livermore mall and wanted to get our feet cleaned as we haven't been for a pedicure since Covid started. The staff was very nice, but I hated the outcome of my nails! My nails were rushed and sloppy! The guy who did my nails were rushing on them and it came out very bumpy and uneven. He even forgot to clean and cut my cuticles. The lady who painted my nails even noticed that my cuticles were not cleaned and she ended up cleaning it the best that she can after she polished them, but it just left a little gap between my cuticles and the acrylic. I'm sorry but this was the most ridiculous gel manicure I've ever received. The lady first tried to put straight lines on my nails which is not my style. No big deal. I asked her to make them look more curved (add more lineage on the sides of them). She not only copped an attitude about it but she had to do each and every individual nail at least 3 times. And that's again, fine. I don't care. But for me to walk out and each nail has a different width of French tip AND different amount of curve on it is just so annoying. I want to cry. It's okay if you don't know how to do French tip, but please ask someone else to do it and don't act like you know how to. I sat in that chair for an hour and 40 min for them to look like this. On picture, they don't look too bad but in person, the hands look like they were done by someone else and the individual nails look mismatched by their width. I just wasted so much money on this and I was genuinely looking forward to a nice manicure. I've never had any nail lady not know what I meant by making them curvier OR fail to execute them on this kind of level. read more

The customer service is astounding here! I was really impressed with how I was treated while getting a mani and pedi done. During my service I was offered drinks and small snacks to enjoy by the employees. All the employees present were so friendly and constantly made sure I was happy with how everything was going. Came here to get my nails done for my birthday and I'm happy to say that I had an amazing experience at this salon (full set with gel and with design and diamonds was $60) Everyone was very sweet. I asked for a pretty difficult design and she wasn't able to do it exactly how it was but she tried something similar and it turned out super pretty. Really bummer experience. This place has good reviews, so when we couldn't get in to our usual nail salon we booked two appointments for their "deluxe pedicures" here. We arrive at our appointment time, they aren't ready for us. After about 10 minutes they take and start one of us, another 15 minutes later they start mine. Mine also ends 15 minutes earlier than the other pedicure. We were very rushed, they would leave to help other walk ins. I received a two minute "massage" or, more accurately, lotion application. Go anywhere else, there are too many other options for this type of service! read more
