I always enjoy my time at Marvelous Nails. There are more popular spots around the area, but the waits get long, services get rushed, and prices are absurd for how little attention you get. A deluxe pedicure here is $40 (basic is $30). Getting gel with chrome added an extra $20 to my total, but still for $60 I had a pedicure that lasted over an hour with callus removal, a long massage, and a hot paraffin wax. The staff are all very very kind- they recognize you after a few visits & I've noticed that the owner has customer's names and some facts about them memorized. On my most recent visit, a woman walked into the salon mistaking it to be a pharmacy. One of the employees walked her down to the actual pharmacy- sweet gesture. So far, I've never had to wait- I like to visit in the late afternoon on a weekday. My busiest visit was during lunch time on a weekday. The gel polish (so far) has lasted me on average over a month. Not the most marvelous experience this time around. Came in on a weekday afternoon, so not too busy. My nail technician didn't even greet me and all the nail technicians were speaking to each other in Vietnamese the entire time. Then during one of the nail technician's breaks, she started playing an Asian drama for the whole salon to hear. Some more customers walked in later. One of them wanted their gel manicure removed and regular nail polish applied. The nail technician asked her "Why not gel again?", which I thought was a bit pushy. The customer looked uncomfortable. I could sense that she didn't want the gel manicure, but didn't know how to say no. Part of me wanted to speak up on her behalf, but didn't feel like it was my place to do so. However, the price is great for what is it. $30 for a basic pedicure including sugar scrub, hot stone, and massage. For $10 extra, you can get the deluxe pedicure, which includes everything in the basic pedicure with the addition of a cooling mask, wax, and longer massage. Overall, the price was right, but the lack of interaction and noise in the background just made for a not-so-relaxing experience. read more

My nails are trimmed, buffed, and polish applied beautifully smooth. Massage was great with hot stones. I was not rushed, so it was relaxing. Not too aggressive with cuticle trimming - but it has been 3 months since my last pedicure so there was a lot of cleaning up to do. I'm happy and plan to return. Horrible staff, service, and environment! Update on owner feedback: why do you eat where you work? Gross! There is a park next door! A health inspector would ban this place. Excellent service! Lina was able to squeeze me in. I called at 3ish and was able to get a same day 4:30 appointment. Showed Lina one of the sets I liked from the pictures on yelp and she gave me exactly what I wanted. In and out in an hour with gorgeous and smooth feeling nails. Lina was very patient with me and answered all my questions and told me price up front so no surprises for me. Salon is small and cozy and I was pleased that there wasn't that weird chemically smell lingering like many other salons I've been to have. Other customers are very nice as well. I'm very satisfied with my visit. I only got my nails done because I'm on winter/Christmas break from work. The price is really good for what you get, you get massage with hot stone and scrub which I've seen other places charge more for. The nail polish smell is a bit strong though because the store is small and the doors weren't propped open or had good ventilation. This is my go to for pedicures. Everyone I've come into contact with is professional and welcoming. I always go for the deluxe gel pedicure. Today, I decided to bring my husband by for a self care day and he really enjoyed coming here, too! Price: I got a deluxe pedicure, with gel polish removal, and callous removal. Visited this nail salon third time and forgot how good they are. It is not a visible place, hidden in a cute shopping plaza, so I forget about them. It will definitely be on my radar from now because it is the only nail salon in Pleasanton that you can trust. It is extremely small, you won't find some fancy chairs and decorations here, but you will get a quality service. One of the technicians is too nosy, asks too many questions, but I guess she is just trying to be friendly (and she is anyway).
