This spot right here is the BEST matcha spot in the Bay. The BEST. The matcha scene is pretty saturated in the Bay, but Lac Coffee truly takes the cake. I dropped by with no expectations and left a die-hard fan. I got their classic Matcha Latte. Their matcha is so incredibly robust, earthy, and grassy in all the best ways. They also have a Pandan Matcha and L.A.C which is matcha and Viet coffee. My friends got both of these drinks and from the sips I sneaked, they were also divine! Protect and support this Viet-owned small business at all costs! :')
I love anything banana matcha. It was perfect and not too sweet. I could taste the banana, and it works well with the matcha. Also, I love the sprinkle of Biscoff crumbs on top. It is a perfect touch. The inside is beautiful and perfect for dates or just hanging out with friends to study or relax.
Very cozy and calming vibes; minimalist decor. Very welcoming environment, a good place to catch up over coffee or study. Limited items on the menu for drinks and pastries. Drinks are pretty good. Haven't tried the pasties but its options are limited. Wished they had more options. Drinks are a little on the pricier end. Parking is available upfront or in the parking lot. Very convenient. Lac Coffee is lovely; would definitely would recommend.

This is a relative new matcha coffee place. It uses Vietnamese coffee beans for some drinks and the owner is Vietnamese ethnic American. Indoor decoration is modern and good ambiance. Very comfortable for a coffee shop. You can self order from the QR code display outside or use the kiosk machine . They sell some Bakery food and drinks . We tried the matcha latte and the LAC coffee ( which is very strong ) . Both tasted great. Would like to return to try other drinks .
I've been wanting to try out Lac Coffee ever since I saw it as a result on my Yelp page. So when I was choosing a spot to meet up with a friend, it was a no brainer. In short, due to a wild no electricity day, luckily we came in before and got our drink. It was strong for sure and I'm looking forward to trying out the rest of the menu. L O C A T I O N Lac Coffee is in a small little plaza on Cedar Blvd. Parking can be very difficult and the spots tight. I N S I D E There is a lot of seating but it does get busy and full. There's a restroom that can be used by customers. M E N U They're known for both their Vietnamese and Matcha drinks. They have a lot of creative drinks but since it was my first time, I decided to try out their classic Vietnamese Coffee - Vietnamese Old Fashioned. So I was being dumb and ordered light ice and light sugar and forgot I got a Vietnamese coffee. I was BUZZIN. It was also very strong and bitter but that's on me. It was good though! S E R V I C E I ordered at the front and it was pretty quick as it was earlier in the morning. Then unfortunately, the whole complex had a power outage which caused a bit of a conundrum for the workers and any new customers coming. The line was waaay out the door when I left after an hour or so of being there. It didn't affect us as I already got my drink before the outage and I was there to chat with a friend. O V E R A L L If it does get busy, they do have ordering online so it's nice to order then pick up. If you're early enough to opening, it's not too bad and no lines when I went. The drink is definitely quality and the price matches. I would love to come back and try out more of their menu. Definitely check them out!
Solid matcha place with rotating seasonal drinks. Been here twice now and can say it's one of the better matcha places in the south bay. First time I came, they had a maple cream top which was delicious! Their matcha is great, more on the earthy side. I suggest at least 50% or 75% sweetness for those who like a sweet matcha. If not, 25% will be best just to get the matcha taste. Price wise, it was about $7 a drink but if you get milk alternatives, it ends up being $8. Pretty standard for a drink nowadays. I would definitely recommend to try this place out if you are around the area! It's in a plaza so there's plenty of parking.
This quiet cafe has a cute design with plants all around and plenty of seating. It's a great place to hang with friends or do some work! A little sad that it doesn't really have any board games like some cafes do. The staff is very friendly and helpful! We got the hojicha latte with banana cream and the pandan matcha. Both of the drinks were not bad! The banana cream was more of a cold foam than cream since it was pretty light. The pandan was stronger near the end and the matcha flavor was decent. However, we asked for light ice and we still got a cup full of ice. Our drinks were also not filled all the way. For $9 a drink, there are better options out there.

This was creamy and the matcha tasted great - matcha latte (with oat milk): 25% sweet was not very sweet, matcha tasted a bit grassy, and it was strangely watery? they have the option to do an extra matcha shot but i think the regular matcha is strong enough.

It was mostly chill and quiet until around noon when it started picking up. The service was friendly and efficient. I knew I wanted something with pandan, and the staff member who helped me was patient and kind, offering helpful customization recommendations. I ordered: - Pandan Matcha (default: 50% sweet, whole milk): Loved it! The pandan flavor was prominent without overpowering the matcha, and the default sweetness was perfectly balanced. It was also ready in under five minutes. 5/5. Overall, Lac Cafe is a great spot if you're looking for a relaxed environment, thoughtful service, and well-balanced drinks that make you want to linger a little longer.
Visited on a Saturday afternoon after lunch and it was not too busy, they also make the drinks relatively quick as well, that's nice! The parking in the plaza is a little hard as it seems to fill up quickly, so keep that in mind if you're visiting! My friend and I got the Pandan Matcha and the Hojicha latte, as our first time here. The default for all drinks is set to 50% sweetness, so we just stuck with that. I added the house cream ontop of my Pandan Matcha, while my friend added the Hojicha cream ontop of hers. The Pandan Matcha was good, but more sweet than I expected, as it was set to the default 50% sweetness. Despite that, it was a decent mix of Pandan + Matcha, but the Pandan being a little more powerful since it's in the milk. (I love both Pandan and Matcha, but I think I'd pass on this drink) Next time I'd try the Vietnamese coffee drinks instead! The Hojicha latte was quite good, a more well balanced drink that was not too sweet! That drink was more my style. There's ample amount of seating inside and it wasn't loud or too rowdy, so it would be a great study or reading spot! Overall the drinks were good!

A friend of mine recommended this place and so I went to try it out. The place looks nice with a couple of tables to sit from. They have a kiosk if you wanna look through the menu. Banana Bread(8/10): The bread was nice and soft. It was slightly sweet, but I wish it was bigger. Matcha Latte(7/10): The drink was good, but I thought it didn't have enough matcha. Pandan Matcha(6/10): It was more on the milky side and I couldn't really taste the pandan. Maple Butter Cream Matcha(6/10): Initially I couldn't taste the maple flavor, but after letting the cream settle into the drink--I was able to taste it. Jasmine Matcha Latte(6/10): It tasted mostly like Jasmine, so I couldn't taste the matcha as much. Service(10/10): I didn't really experience the service(online ordered), but I could tell the workers are nice and friendly! Overall, a nice coffee place to go to before I head off to work! read more
This place is one of my favorite matcha places near me. Their coconut water matcha is the best 10/10! I usually get extra sweet because I like my drinks on the sweeter end. If you haven't tried this I highly recommend, it's so refreshing and has a good matcha taste to it. There is also a good amount of seating, I like to study/ do work here from time to time and the workers are always super nice. Even when it's super busy the wait isn't long, and each cup is hand whisked not pre batched!! read more

Definitely the pick me up that I needed at 1pm! My first time ever trying a matcha coco and it was so refreshing! I'm definitely coming back to try more items from their menu. They have such a great menu with a variety of drinks to choose from. I would recommend this spot to everyone! read more

While in Newark we stopped in to Lac Coffee. The parking lot was super packed but we found a spot as someone was backing out. We ordered on the kiosk. I ordered the LAC (Jasmine matcha, Vietnamese coffee & egg cream) and my daughter ordered the Thai Tea. There's plenty of seating inside. Our drinks were ready super quick. And both were absolutely amazing! I've never had Jasmine matcha before. It was surprisingly delightful. Next time we're in town, we'll be back! read more
There's not many good matcha places in Fremont-Newark-Hayward-SL area, so I'm glad this opened up. We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was packed. Parking was easy as it in a complex with different stores. The matcha quality was pretty good and with the cream on top, it was perfect. I wish there more matcha latte options. We also got the maple butter coffee and it was delicious. The Vietnamese coffee in it was strong but the maple butter adds a nice after taste to it. The cafe is small and can get loud. The service was amazing, our server was welcoming and adjust the coffee according to our needs. I would highly recommend this place. read more

I have been wanting to try pandas matcha for awhile so I drove down to try this place out. Loved how they have a calming playlist of instrumental music. Perfect vibe for studying or working. They have free WiFi which is a plus! There's a decent amount of seating options available, but not more than 3-4 people per table. I ordered on self kiosk and the drink came out within 5-8 minutes. The latte was good, but was hoping for more pandan essence. My sister got the Vietnamese old fashioned...THAT was really good. I'd come back to try more on their menu aka their Hojicha tea series! read more

Came in on a Thursday during my lunch break and there were a surprising number of people enjoying their drinks inside. Waited behind a few people to self order at the kiosk and waited a couple more minutes for our drinks. There were a good number of tables to sit at and also some cute benches with a small side table to put your drinks on, which I thought was a cool seating arrangement. The cafe is located in the corner of the plaza with ample parking spaces. Disclaimer that we ordered two matcha drinks when this cafe's specialty is their Vietnamese coffee, so this review is solely based on their matcha alone. Pandan matcha latte: For a Viet-coffee-oriented cafe, their matcha wasn't horrible, but I have definitely tasted better. I wish my latte was creamier because the matcha tasted a little watered down. Banana cream matcha latte: A seasonal drink according to their menu, this drink was even more water-y than the first. Both the banana and matcha flavors were underwhelming. read more
Lac Coffee is top tier! I feel like this is one of those places where all the drinks they offer taste really good. I've had the salted cream matcha and hojicha latte. Perfectly creamy, just the right amount of sweetness, and no bitterness! This place is in a business center next to the local high school and is always busy. I have come at varying times in the morning, including right before they open, and every time there's a line. I completely understand why though! read more
Needed a caffeine boost, so we stopped by here! This coffee shop serves specialty Vietnamese coffee along with other boba drinks like matcha and hojicia. Maple Cream coffee (4/5): This was a seasonal drink. It definitely tastes like maple syrup in my coffee. I got it 75% sweet and the maple cream was sweet already, so it tasted really sweet. I thought this was unique and worth a try if you want something that reminds you of of breakfast I really enjoyed my experience here and would like to try another drink some day. read more
I got the Strawberry Matcha and I loved it! The matcha flavor is really strong and high quality. I could still taste the strawberry flavor when mixed together with the matcha, which is always a huge plus. There are a lot of tables to sit at and the cashier was friendly. Came back for the pandan matcha! Somehow, this time the pandan flavor didn't seem as strong as usual; hopefully just a fluke or maybe my taste buds were off today. However, it was still delicious: good, strong matcha flavor and good pandan flavor. read more

Always stop by this place when we're in the area! The parking lot is usually packed, and there's almost always a line also. There are good amounts of tables to work or study so hopefully I get the chance to come in one day to do work! The vibe inside is both chaotic and chill, depending on the time of the day you go lol. The matcha is lovely in flavor and I love the variety on their menu. The staff is so kind. One time I had trouble ordering online and they placed it for me over the phone and I paid in an alternative way. Will be here more often! read more
Ist timer here. I got the brown sugar hojicha latte and husband got the maple butter cream coffee. So good!! I have never had hojicha before and I am a fan!! I could really taste the matcha. I also like my husband drink. Soo good!! They are busy on a Sunday, but the barista got the drink in our hand pretty quick. There are a lot of young adults just hanging out with friends. While their coffee is well known, I would highly recommend indulging in their matcha pandan drink. Their hojicha cream is delicious and a nice complement to their matcha series. If there wasn't so much caffeine, I would probably get this for dessert every day! read more

Absolutely love the Pandan Matcha! I keep getting the same drink because they nail it every single time, and I also don't drink coffee. What sets this drink apart is the Pandan infused milk (pretty color!) topped with freshly whisked matcha. At least, I hope it's whisked to order. Friends have ordered hot hojicha latte, Viet old fashioned, and house cream coffee. They also have some pastries they source from a local bakery. Order via kiosk or if it's a weekday, you can order online. Online ordering is shut off on weekends to prevent backorders. Good amount of indoor seating but it gets packed with friends catching up and folks studying. Shared parking with other businesses but I haven't had a problem yet. Breeze Cafe is a few shops away for brunch! read more

Superb matcha place. Hand whisked to order. Spacious cafe with ample seating. Offers coffee, hojicha, and pastries as well. Happened to walk in right before a rush. Got our drinks pretty quick and the line got super long. I got the seasonal maple butter cream matcha and the flavor was amazing. Subtle maple flavor and tasted similar to toffee. Matcha well balanced of creamy and matcha flavor. The brown sugar hojicha was also great. Strong hojicha flavor and has roasted flavor. Brown sugar balanced it well. Would come back for their matcha and seasonal flavors when I'm back around Fremont area! read more

Cute little spot for coffee and matcha. It is located in a shopping center that can get quite busy. I'm not sure how long this business has been here. I get my facials next door and I have never noticed it but glad Yelp brought me here. I went it for an iced coffee and changed my order to a Hojicha Cream Matcha. Now I have no idea what Hojicha is but wanted to try something new and based my order on the item picture on the kiosk. When you walk in the menu is on the wall to the left and straight ahead is a kiosk to place your order and pay. While I waited I sat down which I was lucky there was an empty table because it was very full inside. For customers, I understand the drinks are pretty and we are in a time (especially if you're Yelp elite) to photograph everything; however please be considerate of other customers and employees. An order came up and the employee was trying to put other orders up but the customer was photographing their order so the employee waited to set down the other orders. I don't know if the customer taking the photographs didn't notice or didn't seem to care but please be considerate in an establishment. Some people just want to grab their orders and go and staff shouldn't have to wait especially when it's busy. read more

The ambiance inside here is amazing! i love how silent it is, the music that plays is so peaceful, & i actually like how you can order yourself on a kiosk. i know many people don't like to order themselves on a kiosk, they'd rather order with an actual human, but i like ordering myself & not being pressured. It's a very easy process, & the coffee is actually good! We got the viet old fashioned with condensed milk which was sooo good. Also got the LAC which is half coffee & half matcha, which i'm not a huge fan of matcha, so this is a good option for me to branch off into the matcha world. read more

I was so excited when I saw a place that had matcha in Newark! I stopped by earlier today and got a matcha latte with honey and oat milk. I also got no ice and it clearly said on the kiosk, the cup will not be full. I appreciated that they made note of that instead of shocking me when I got my order. I was debating if I should get an extra shot of matcha but $2.00 was a bit steep. Drink came out half full (no ice) but cold so that was appreciated. Matcha quality is on the lower end but drinkable. I'd rather make my own matcha lattes at home but I'm glad I tried it. You can taste a grassy/bitter flavour with hints of green tea and feel the grittiness of the powder in the drink. I would recommend coming here if you're in a pinch and need some matcha. read more

This used to be one of my favorite spots when they opened last year. My favorites are the house cream matcha and coco matcha. Unfortunately the menu has changed a lot, cream topping now and extra charge of $1.50- $2..... making a single drink upwards of $9 and if you tip $10!! The matcha is good but it's hard to justify paying $10 for a single drink:( other than the high price the service is typically fast. You order on a kiosk so you don't really interact with the staff. Seating is very limited as well. The parking lot is horribly busy on weekend mornings. read more
As someone who isn't originally from Fremont, I missed my daily matcha lattes. I did a quick search on google and this spot was one of the top searches. The inside is fairly small but there is seating if you plan to study/work. I've tried only the jasmine matcha latte because it's so good. It's similar to Molly Tea, where they have a floral jasmine milk tea and matcha cream top, except it's just a shot of matcha. I've been here 3 times but next time I want to try their pandan matcha latte. Will be coming back! read more
There is something here for everyone. The drinks came out quick. The $8 Maple butter cream hojicha cold, 75% sugar. The flavor was very enjoyable. The $8 KUMQUAT ELDERFLOWER coffee was also good.
