I was on my own when I stopped for lunch. I do really like bibimbap, rice, vegetables and an egg on top. Today I tried the Kimchi fried rice. Started off, they gave me a huge bowl of kimchi. Next they brought soup and the fried rice with an egg on top. I'm not sure if this the correct way to eat it, I mixed the rice, egg and added plenty of kimchi. Just delicious and way too much for me, so I'll have a snack later.

The restaurant itself has such a cozy, homey vibe - very much a cute grandma and grandpa type of spot that immediately makes you feel warm and fuzzy like at your grandparents. One thing I absolutely loved: they give you an entire pot of kimchi with your order. Not just a few pieces on a small dish, but a whole pot. I wish it was a bit more fermented for my personal taste, but I really appreciate not having to keep asking for refills like at other places. The fried dumplings are a must order! The filling was super juicy and packed with flavor, honestly one of the highlights of the meal. We also ordered the classic yukgaejang kalguksu and the ox bone soup, and both were incredibly flavorful. The kalguksu noodles had that perfect chewy texture and paired so well with the rich, spicy yukgaejang broth. Everything felt comforting, like a warm homemade meal straight out of a grandma's kitchen.

We arrived around 8:50 a.m., and the restaurant was already packed, which is always a good sign. Luckily, two tables opened up just as I got there, allowing my group of three and my friend's group of five to be seated. Even though my friend was still about eight minutes away, the staff was kind enough to accommodate us, which we really appreciated. Every bowl was a hit. The kids enjoyed their beef soups, while the adults ordered the beef knee soup, with one person choosing the spicy beef soup. Each soup came with cooked sticky purple rice, a few noodles in the broth, and classic Korean side dishes like kimchi that rounded out the meal perfectly. The service was phenomenal from beginning to end. Despite how busy they were, the staff remained friendly, attentive, and efficient. The prices were also very reasonable, especially for the quality and generous portions. The only downside for me is that I'd have to cross a bridge to get there, otherwise I'd be a regular. If you're looking for delicious authentic Korean comfort food, open 24 hours, Onga is absolutely worth the visit.

The food was just OK, the meat was mediocre, and there was nothing memorable about the meal. The only thing that seems to stand out is the morning special price, which attracts bargain diners and makes the place extremely crowded. Otherwise, there's really NOTHING special here. For regular hour dining, there are plenty of other restaurants in town that offer much better food and quality for the money.

The Perilla Seed and Mushroom Sundubu was the highlight of the meal; the broth and tofu texture were perfect. We also tried the LA Galbi, which had a great char and delicious flavor, though the meat was a bit on the tough side. The shrimp and leek pancake tasted excellent, but be aware it's a bit small for the $20 price point. I'd personally skip the steamed dumplings next time to save room for more soup! The service is wonderful--the staff is so attentive it feels like being served by your own grandma. Plus, they take InKind, which made the payment process seamless

We were warmly greeted by an older Korean woman and given the most delicious hot tea upon sitting. She was very helpful with making our food choices. Cho Dang House specializes in homemade tofu, so we knew that we wanted to try it. We ordered the Seafood and Tofu Soup and the Tofu Bossam. A very nice and tasty selection of banchan was served after we ordered. The Soup was served absolutely boiling, with a bowl of rice. Shrimp, clam, and squid blended with the soft tofu in a divine red broth. I am still craving this dish days later. Fantastic flavor and textures! The Tofu Bossam is a large platter filled with tender pork belly, tofu, and kimchi rolls. Eaten all together, it is a perfect bite. Fatty, silky, crunchy - just a flavor bomb. I thought that we might have ordered too much, but we managed to polish off both plates. We just couldn't stop! I can't wait to return and try more of the menu!
