    Assorted Sashimi

All the food was good and mostly fresh. Some may have sat in the fridge for a bit, but you won't notice unless you've actually had some live fish on the spot. The side dishes were good, and everything was as expected from these types of Korean sushi restaurants. Prices keep going up, but I guess what hasn't gone up these days, except your salary?

It might look like laundry water but it's not. It's rice tea.

This is a Korean style sashimi place. One of my paps favorite restaurant so we came here to celebrate Father's day. Parking is all valet so make sure you bring some cash with you. Once seated we ordered the seafood combo for 3-4 people that comes in at $259. It's a boatload of food so be prepared. It's a bit much to list everything so I'll highlight some of the favorites. 1. Freshly chopped squid. It's squirming on the plate. But seafood doesn't get any fresher than this. If you work for PETA don't come to this restaurant. It comes with a sesame oil and salt dipping sauce which is really good. It's was my 11year olds favorite. 2. Sea cucumber and sea squirt. This is something that the western palates might not easily accept. My parents favorite. Not necessarily mine but if you dip this in Cho Jang ( spicy red sauce) it's great. 3. Sashimi platter. It has all your favorites. I don't really like salmon but here it's uber fresh. It has a few servings of freshly killed fish (hwe). Yellowtail, snapper, tuna, salmon, ebi shrimp, it was all good. 4. Mae on Tang. (Fish soup). It's a great way to end a feast. My not so favorites. 1. The sushi wasn't that good. The eel sushi and the dragon roll was mediocre. 2. The tea? I thought it was laundry water that they were serving. For drinks we had some soju, beer and some sake. Service is friendly and very efficient. Is it a bit pricey? Sure it is. But try to eat like this at home. You can't recreate it and the clean up would be insane. I think some people will prefer the Japanese style sushi sashimi experience if that's what they are used to. It's probably more refined in delivery and maybe even to the palate. But Bada is a more raw and visceral experience. I like both, it's just depends on what I'm in the mood for. Didn't get to stay for dessert since we were too stuffed. If you want to get a 10% discount bring some greenback with you. Overall it was a great meal.

Korean style omakase. You order per person and they bring out appetizers to sashimi to soup at the end. Servers are attentive and it is not overpriced. Recommend making reservations on weekends!

Fresh, fresh, fresh! You can't beat this experience. This is our second time visiting. Last time we came was 2021, we knew we had to revisit on this trip since it was so memorable the first time. We ordered the Live set for 5-6 people, plenty of food for our party of 8. We were stuffed by end of the meal. Service was attentive, our waiter would check with us between each course to ask if we were ready for the next. Pricey? Yes, worth it? Yes!

Where do I begin here. One day after work, a group of us (total of 5 people) tried Bada Story for the first time in fort Lee. There were plenty of options and we had decided to select the bada palace table. Please come hungry because there was plenty of food! The picture on the website does not do it justice. First round was mainly on the appetizer of banchans, fried tempura of shrimp and veggies and other small table bites. The second round was the most interesting but least favorite of mine (this is a just a preference but the presentation was beautiful). This involved live octopus, sea squirt and sea cucumber. The third round was the start of the show and those sashimi pieces were so delicious! The portion was fit for 6 people and you can thoroughly enjoy each piece. Last round we each had a handroll and soup that they made table side. Service was amazing and they took the time to tell us what was in each round. Ambiance is pretty too and straight forward. I will come back and make sure not to eat anything before cooking here!

Interior: looked spacious, there are clear barriers between seats close to each other Food: order a set for 2 and came with 4 people. There was plenty of food and left feeling comfortable! Other location (the original) was super packed and did not have any availabilities, which is why we tried this location instead Staff: very friendly and accommodating, gave us four hand rolls when it was a set for 2!!

Fam and I went on a sunday night around 6pm. We ordered the set for 3-4 people. The first round of food was just too much. The okinomiyaki and corn cheese were so fricken oily, the veggies they gave were dry, they gave a slab of purple cabbage that was also dry. The oysters werent fresh at all. The fish was also just not fresh. I remember going a few years ago and def the quality went down a lot. The wait staff were also quite rude they just had to say something after every one of our requests (we didn't have many requests to begin with). When we didnt finish the oily okonomiyaki the waitress was like "youre not gonna finish that? Thts kind of a waste" in Korean. I dont believe that that comment was necessary. I dont think we'll be going again.

Amazing experience. We recently went in a group of 4 (with a 7-yr old girl) to have a celebratory dinner for a friend's career milestone and bada story definitely didn't disappoint! She was a bit bummed out from the day b4 when we ate at a "seafood" restaurant up in Norfolk, CT and had a disappointing experience (sorry, the US still has a loooong way to go in knowing their seafood...), and this more than made up for it with trays and trays of fresh sashimi that just leapt off the plate straight into our mouths! We were on revenge-wanna eat-sashimi mode, and thus ordered the Live Whole Fish Sashimi Special for 3-4 Ppl $249, and soon began our unending feast of heavenly sashimi dining! We enjoyed dipping fresh pieces of all kinds of fish that we didn't even know and I had to diligently look up and explain to them, to the 3 different types of dips (wasabi+soy sauce, korean style cho gochujang, and makjang - sort of like korean bbq ssamjang+parella seed oil+minced garlic). I had so much chewy pieces of fluke dipped in that third dip and enjoyed a ton of sea bream. Their salmons glistened, tuna was robust, and I even enjoyed some sea squirt (a highly acquired, Korean taste - my two chinese companions didn't care for it), sweet shrimp, and giant clam. Oh, they brought out abalone as well which was a crunchy treat! For the 7-yr old who doesn't really like raw fish, there were PLENTY to eat: corn, egg souffle, mussel soup, fried fish, grilled fish, various tempuras, seaweed, salad, and of course, the red hot spicy fish stew served at the end! And of course, we had to have some libation with mountain of sashimi so we had a nice bottle of umeju which even my non-drinking wife enjoyed. Service-wise, we were seated in the corner room (we hadn't reserved because we didn't know we had to - we called 20 min before on standby) after initially being seated right behind the cashier counter which was noisy and too close for comfort from others. So we were nicely stretched out, slightly inebriated (esp. my friend who was buying), and filled to brim with GREAT quality fish shipped straight from Korea! Definitely check this place out for your big celebrations, or even a great alcohol-infused drinks with your favorite buddy for his birthday! (and be ready to pay $$$) You won't regret it!

Bada Story @ Emglewood Cliffs Other than the one on Abbott street, this is the new one in Sylvan Ave., Englewood Cliffs. It is sitting on a location that used to be a Mexican restaurant very long time ago, has been vacant for 5 years, and now a raw fish sashimi place. Sashimi selection is wide and they focus on the main sashimi than the small dishes that accompany the main rounds. While the white fish sashimi tasted very fresh, chewy, and right temperature, the assorted one and raw oysters did not give me such fresh flavor - they were mediocre. Sitting in the private room, there was a certain condition to how much food you need to order, and we had the 5-6 people menu for $399. A whole array of food, dish after dish, but again, I do wait for the main round of sashimi and hold off & ignore the small ones. It is quite great to get to room upstairs since it is very loud downstairs, and with today's weather [Father's Day 2021] I would never dream of eating raw fish in the outdoor seating.

Came here for lunch and was really impressed by the food and service. We had 4 adults and ordered the 2-person Omakase special and a couple of lunch specials. That was plenty of food and we were all stuffed at the end of the meal. The sashimi was very fresh and high quality. I especially liked the fatty tuna which was melt in your mouth good. A bunch of sides also come with your email and there were all delicious as well. The price is definitely not cheap, but you're paying for quality.

10.30.2022 Advice: come hungry! This restaurant is easy to find and it's located in a good location. After you turn your keys over to the valet, you walk through double glass doors, up some stairs and into the restaurant where you'll be seated by one of the waiters. They specialize in their sets ($$$) and be warned: so much food! You are getting the amount of food for the price you pay. My boyfriend and I got the omakase set; they start out with all the appetizers and a sashimi teaser on the house. We loved the grilled sea bass and the seafood pancake the most! The fresh sea squirt that they serve is certainly an acquired taste; my amateur taste buds were overwhelmed by the natural flavoring (slightly bitter). They then serve the omakase sashimi on a tray. We were absolutely stuffed by the end~ the waiter gave us a soup to go, and we went back home to flop around after that huge meal. Overall, I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the service; the waiter was super nice! The food was delicious, although I think the sashimi was a bit cold when it came out; we let it warm to room temperature for a bit before having it - absolutely delicious! For those of you who can really pack a meal, the sets are for you! For the rest of us who have limited stomach capacity, I would go for their a la carte. A fair warning that their sets are pricey; this place is perfect for a special occasion!

We had one of their set menus, and the food was amazing - it was just so much that we couldn't finish! Expensive but worth it for a special occasion.

We were a party of five and ordered the "3-4 person whole fish sashimi special" along with the steak for dinner, and we were all full! The food comes out in four very well timed courses. The sashimi is very fresh and not your typical assortment of sashimi. I think I would've given this meal 5 stars if the final sashimi course was full of tuna or salmon but it was a speciality fish that I wasn't familiar with. It was still delicious! The space is very large and they have great staff! Pro tip: pay cash and you get 10% off!

When we walked in, the gentleman inside was mopping. We asked if they were still open, and he said yes, so we went ahead and placed our order at the counter -- the $77 chef's choice sushi + sashimi + roll set. About 10 minutes later, the food was ready. We paid (the total came to around $87 after tax), and the gentlemen kindly gifted us a truffle soy sauce bottle. Nothing was mentioned about the order being "chef's choice" beyond what was written. When we opened the platter, we were honestly disappointed. For a chef's choice set at this price, we expected a wider variety. Instead, it was mostly very basic cuts: salmon, tuna and yellowtail for both the sushi and sashimi, one kani roll with seared salmon on top, and one tempura shrimp roll. Everything tasted fine, but nothing about it felt special or worth the price. It looked more like a simple salmon/tuna combo than a true chef's assortment. If it was already too late in the evening for the full selection, I really wish that had been communicated. Instead, we walked away feeling like we didn't get the value or experience we were hoping for. I wanted to love this place, but unfortunately, this visit fell short.
