This place is really good. Their cheese empanadas is the best thing ever. The chefs here really care about the food they serve

Service has been nothing but kind, helpful, and attentive every time we've gone. On our last visit, we were jonesing for happy hour and asked for the drink menu, only to discover they don't serve alcohol but they're BYOB. "And there's a wine and liquor store only two blocks away," our smiling server whispered conspiratorially. It was a genius idea. While we waited on our order, my husband jetted out for a 6-pack of Modelos and got back just as our chicken salad was being set down on the table. We asked for it to be timed as an appetizer, and I'd say the serving size might be closer to an appetizer than an entree. But the chicken pieces were well-marinated and delicious, making the salad a meaty entry point into our shared steak fajitas. These fajitas are a winner winner chicken - er, steak - dinner. Since we got it done medium well (my preferred doneness - feel free to judge me for it), I was worried about the steak being tough but these were tender enough for both my husband and I to emit a simultaneous "wow" at first bites. The sauce on them was also incredible, so much that we asked our server about it when he checked on us mid-meal. He crossed his heart and demurred, "It's a secret, so I can't really tell you," but when we pressed for more information, he admitted the main base was "lots of tomatoes". Well, whatever's in that magic sauce was good enough for us to drag our spoons against the near-empty fajita plate, trying to get every last drop of it. My husband and I have visited twice now, and our order has ranged from good to excellent (with those steak fajitas being the high winner thus far). There are a few parking spots in the front lot but being that this is in a quiet, residential area, there's plenty of parking to be found on the side streets if necessary.

Without us asking, the staff noticed and asked if it is ok to warm up the place. That really helped enhance the dining experience. Now the food, we shared the chicken fajita and the enchilada mi bandiera. The chicken fajita was so tasty, the chicken is made w chicken thigh. Some might not like that. We enjoyed it tremendously. The chicken and the veggies were very flavorful and grilled perfectly. They were a little stingy w only 3 tortillas but it's ok. The enchilada was also good. Good flavor but it was Luke warm. Would've been better if it was hotter. I very much enjoyed the home made hot sauce and their signature mole sauce. A good dining experience. Left satiated.

Also we got 2 large rolled crab stuffed breaded fillet of sole, mashed potatoes and mixed steamed vegetable all for $32. Such large portions and a tasty meal we couldn't finish. Needed to take home a complete left over second meal for tomorrow.! Wow... Our server Nick was polite, helpful and attentive. Even the bus person, whom I didn't get her name, was kind and helpful. I've been here before and I will go back again. Great deal and location. Thank you Chillers for a good dinner experience

Outcome: Sandwhich: steak was tough and flavorless, bread was stale. Onion Rings: Crispy but oily and flavorless. Hamburger: stale bread, hamburger was flavorless Sweet potato: tender and soft but very bland. Red Sangria: pink in color, taste of grapefruit juice Summary: This place was in my opinion is an over priced Applebee's. I will never visit this place again. Customer Service: Waitress was kind and very helpful in letting us know what not to order off the menu. Her face said a thousand words. Should have been our first red flag. After receiving our check we noticed that they were illegally charging us a 3.5% fee for using our debit card. We brought this to the waitress attention. She said she was aware it is illegal but nothing she can do. Manager was called over. His response was to shrug his shoulders and state he is also aware it is illegal and many people complain but nothing he can do. No where on site does it say they treat debit as credit and charge a fee. I explained I would be reporting this to nj consumer affairs. He made no efforts to make it right. I hate doing negative reviews but it would be unfair if I didn't warn others.

Upon arrival, it was not what I thought from reviews and pictures. Las Palmas was also listed as being open late, so I crossed the street to check it out. This was more in line with what I was thinking. Unfortunately, the posted hours are incorrect. Instead of having an hour to sit and be served, I had ten minutes to order take out. The interior was cute and I can imagine people here for a date or eating with the family. I decided to go with tacos. An order of fish and one birria. There are three tacos to an order for $16. I think that may be slightly costlier than nearby establishments, but not by much. I worried about the state my tacos because I had a ways to travel. But my concern was for naught. The bag and food were so considerately packed, nothing spilled. Including the consommé in a cup for the birria. Having the first fish taco, made me instantly decide I want to try this hot and fresh! It has a heaping serving of pico and a slice of avocado on top. My one complaint is that I needed more fish. Not sure if that's an accurate grumble or just me being late night hungry/greedy. I warmed the consommé a little before dipping the tacos. The onion and cilantro taste was perfect. The meat was well seasoned and melty good. Not fatty or tough like other birria I've had. I would absolutely return to this spot and try more of the menu
