There were three employees working, but they were all huddled at the back of the shop chatting about prom and other things, completely ignoring what was happening at the register. You can order on your own using the touch pad but we had a question and I literally had to wave my arms around and yell "Hello?" several times, after one of the cashiers came to the front to restock, but had earbuds in his ears and did not raise his eyes to the register. I get it. You're teenagers with more interesting things on your mind, but you've also got to do your job. Also, the tables were dirty and sticky. I rarely write negative reviews, but you guys deserve it. Annoying. Do better. The tea is fine. read more

This was the first time that I had black and green tea mixed with it. A solid Kung Fu Tea location with service and taste consistent with other chain locations. The seating is a bit awkwardly out in the open, but that's to be expected being inside of Tysons Corner Center--not exactly ideal if you're hosting a meet-up and chat hangout, but perfect if you just want boba on-the-go. This is a convenient boba spot while shopping around the mall. They offer a variety of selections from milk tea to yogurt, slush, coffee and other specialty drinks. I ordered from their app and they were offering free toppings every Monday. I got the Almond Milk Tea with Bubbles. I always adjust the drink to less sugar and light ice. It was not too sweet and had a good amount of bubbles. It does get crowded with a long line, but I was easily able to skip the line and pick up my drink from the pick up counter after I ordered from the app! I have been wanting to try Kung Fu tea since moving here, but today was clearly not a good day for it. I downloaded the app, thinking the app was connected to the store, but it evidently is not. In other words, the app will accept orders regardless of what the location can offer (or in my case, cannot offer). What this means is that you can order whatever you want, pay for it, and then 1) not get what you want 2) not be compensated for what you paid for. Now, I don't blame the employees because they clearly don't have the authority to give any coupons or credits etc. they really should work on their management structure and the authority they can give. This would significantly improve customer service. Instead, I have employees who aren't sure how to give a refund, can't really offer you anything for next time, are very apologetic and trying very hard to keep it together by closing down the whole system and sending customer to the other location. But then what? It's really a managerial issue. I mean I'm happy the ingredients are so fresh because you're constantly running out but maybe you should try delegating some authority to your teenage employees? Promote a few people? Do something? Quite disappointed in missing out on my addons. A boba place running out of boba is very sad. Then when we replaced my crystal boba for grape popping boba it was mango instead (we don't like mango apparently). The non-kiosk location has decent seating and is quite comfortable. The kiosk is very hard to find IMO and also not very comfortable with no drinking areas or even a clear pickup location. Until they reform this I'm not sure I'll be back. read more

The KFT inTysons has been one of my go-tos for bubble tea throughout the years. The lines are generally okay - the stand is usually less busy than the store. I stopped by again yesterday and ordered my usual: milk tea with Oreos and boba. It looks gross but tastes so good haha. My one complaint with the drinks at KFT is I've found their boba to be less consistent than at other places - I prefer my boba soft and chewy and I've gotten pearls which were a bit harder and crumbly. Also the drinks are a bit expensive with classic teas starting around $4.55 and milk teas at $5.55. Overall I'd say there are better boba stores in the area but the store is so conveniently located within Tysons I know I'll be back. read more

Another KFT location but not in the layout of a store! It's a booth on the upper level of Tyson's corner with long lines and fast service. The employees have a pretty efficient system down where one individual focuses on taking orders, another is making drinks and a final person is handing them out to their respective customers. I ordered 3 drinks (Wintermelon with red beans, Taro milk green tea with nata jelly and the Passionfruit green tea with nata jelly). For some reason, KFT's boba is naturally on the sweeter side and so I requested 0% sugar and less ice for all beverages. I personally don't appreciate the artificial tasting flavors but instead enjoy a more herbal tea taste for that authenticity in my bubble tea. Still, my family and I were all very happy with our drinks and how they ended up tasting. Although service is fast and their boba is definitely up to par, I wish their location was more of a store rather than a booth/stand. The lines can get very chaotic and it becomes an inconvenience with people who are walking by through the mall. In my opinion, I definitely like the Maryland locations better since the layouts there allows people to hang-out, play board games and mingle more so than this one. It is located on the 2nd floor right next to Auntie Anne's! Just follow the pretzel smell! They only offer one size here (large). They seem to maintain a level of busy-ness but this is to no surprise because Kung Fu Tea is Delicious. I always get the Passion Fruit Slush with bubbles. If you want a slushee make sure you specify that because one time I made the mistake of not specifying and apparently they also have a passion fruit tea. This is a grab and go Kung Fu Tea. Always a great experience with Kung Fu Tea! All the drinks I've had are fantastic and I don't feel bad spending $5-6 on it because I know I'm always going to get something delicious. I love Kung Fu Tea. This was my first time visiting this location. It's located inside of the mall, separate from the food court. The staff was very friendly and helpful when we ordered. They were also very fast, as we got our order pretty quickly. The seating area they have is very quaint (not pictured). It was my friend's first time trying milk tea. He didn't like the flavor he ordered, and the staff was so kind to switch his drink to something different without any hassle or additional costs. I would give the customer service 10/10. read more

This is one of my favorite bubble tea places in DC. What I like most about this place is that they taste delicious and they are not watery as in other places. They use powdered milk which makes the tea have more body and consistency. Pearls are delicious, they feel warm and fresh. I wanted 50% sweetness but they said there's no added sweetness for this drink, so it would just be less strawberry flavor. The drink itself was good. Came here on a Saturday night. Line wasn't too long and service was quick. I got the passion fruit green tea with lychee jelly, 50% sugar and less ice. The sweetness of the drink wasn't overpowering and actually really pleasant to drink. The lychee jelly had a weird preservative flavor to it so I probably won't get that with my drink next time. My friend got kungfu black milk tea with boba and grass jelly, 30% sugar and less ice. Pretty good! read more

I like hanging out at this Kung Fu Tea location tucked away in a corner of the mall because although it's small, it's open and features modern decor; I like the wood paneling on the ceiling and the Edison bulbs in particular. The workers are helpful and do their best to get your drink made as quickly as possible, and the flavors are consistent, which I always appreciate. The bubbles are always the perfect texture and the milk teas are rich and creamy. Recently, I've been enjoying the sesame oolong milk tea and the winter melon coconut milk tea. They also have a small kiosk towards the other side of the mall with a limited menu, which is great if you're closer or for skipping the line at the cafe if you're going for something on their basic menu. One thing to note is that they only have the large size at both of the mall locations. read more

Kung fu tea is my goto when I don't feel like going too far for boba tea around my house. This one is convenient since it's also by tysons corner mall so I usually go here when I do errands or shopping there. They have great service and the wait time isn't too crazy except during the weekends(or if you goto the 2nd location on the other corner of the mall). My goto is the almond milk tea with boba and Nata jelly. I find kung fu teas bobas and toppings pretty good compared to other places. It's pretty chewy and sweet. Unfortunately, my brother got the Thai tea with bobas and Oreos and found that his drink wasn't filled about half an inch full. Luckily this didn't happens to my drink. I expressed my concern that I had this situation happen before. I understand they are short staffed but there should be sign telling customers that certain drinks are not prepared when they are short staffed so that customers don't have to wait and waste their time in line, specially for that long. I am not a fan of Kung Fu Tea, but I'll review this one, because this location makes the taro milk green tea better than the rest of the locations. This place understands the Asian palette and doesn't make this drink, or any other drink for that matter, too sweet like the other locations. Also forewarning, this place only serves large cups, which could be a good thing as well. Stop reading here if you don't want to hear "I'm from the west coast and I wish things were better on the east coast" rant. Coming from California, I was spoiled with great boba shops on every corner. With such competition, comes great tea. Great tea takes time to brew and does not comprise of any sort of powder. Thus, Kung Fu Tea would not stand a chance on the west coast. However, moving here has taught me to be grateful for what I have and to make the best of what is around me. Kung Fu Tea is probably the best boba shop in the area - the line is always long and out the door. I wonder why other west coast boba shops (cough boba guys cough) won't migrate from California and bust open Kung Fu Tea's monopolization in the DMV area. read more
