But sometimes I appreciate a good tea and I especially enjoy being able to have it with bubbles, and when I need to satisfy that fix Kung Fu Tea is the main spot that I go to! The first thing I like about Kung Fu is the variety of beverages that you can get, from traditional teas and fruit-based ones, to regular to frozen milk teas and coffeehouse creations they have it all. And then you can even add even more customization to the option that you choose from. No matter what I always add the boba! But I've had a caramel macchiato latte tea that rivaled the lattes that I've gotten at most coffeehouses, fruit teas with jelly bubbles that BURST of tropical fruits once they hit my mouth, and a sesame matcha milkstrike tea that was as savory as it was sweet! For most bubble tea spaces you're only limited to ordering beverages. But Kung Fu Tea also has a pretty good food menu on top of their drink options. The main attraction is their onigiri rice balls that either come traditional or loaded with things like spam, teriyaki beef, shrimp tempura, and spicy crab. They also have a spicy and crunchy karaage popcorn chicken, and super delicious takoyaki balls. read more

I'm a tea lover but more of the traditional and various cultural tea ceremonies. This cookie cutter fast food style tea store only caught my attention because of a coupon. I love a good coupon but it was a little too much work for me, an impatient person. I had to create an account within the Kung Fu tea app. UGH. After fiddling with that for a few I was annoyed because the app wasn't the easiest to navigate. Once in I had a offer for $1 off during'happy hour'. Nice touch. Indoor dining has been suspended everything is to go. Covid protocol is taken very seriously here! The staff is friendly but I had a little difficultly communicating with the cashier so I kept it simple. I ordered the taro root slush tea. Wow it was quite delicious, smooth with a sweet potato type flavor but not overly sweet with a nice coolness perfect for a warm day. No head or stomach cramps later. Thus is a cute spot on the main road in Ardmore. I dropped in because I had 20 minutes before my train arrives. The young lady was very pleasant and welcoming. She was patuient as she waledme through the menu. I ended up with the green tea with honey. It was divine!! I dont live out here, but I will make sure to drop by everytime I am this way. The reason I took a star away is because they do not have plant based milk. Also I ordered a seaweed salad and got seaweed in the middle of a rice triangle with a faux wrap of nori. The nori was real but it was covered in plastic and wrapped around the rice. I'm confused. Why am I supposed to unassemble, unwrap and rewrap the food? Reliable, consistent and delicious! Our go to for boba and onigiri (spam, avocado, seaweed salad, chicken teriyaki and shrimp tempura are our favorites). It's an easy snack or meal for me and my 8-yr-old son. Portable and easy, and really hits the spot when I crave sushi without the fuss. Spicy Mayo available for the bolder. Loved my beverage it was perfect! The service by the staff however sucked--The door was locked when I arrived so the cashiers stares at me then sauntered her way over to open the door. She didn't welcome me in, apologize for the door being locked or anything. Absolutely love this place! I probably come here about once a week for my bubble tea craving. My usual go-to's are the Mango Green Tea or the Kung Fu Milk Tea. The Mango Green Tea is very refreshing and has a delicious mango flavor whereas the Kung Fu Milk Tea is more heavier but delicious as well. I have also tried the hot version of the Kung Fu Milk Tea which is great for those winter days, however I recommend reducing the sugar level as the hot one is very very sweet. Another great option is the Lychee Black Tea which also comes with lychee pieces at the bottom. But there are so many other options as well as their menu is so large! In regards to toppings, I always get the bubbles. The bubbles at this location are almost always prepared perfectly and I think it's Kung Fu's bubbles that make it one of the best bubble tea shops in the Philadelphia area! In addition to the great tea, they also have pretty good food options. The popcorn chicken here is phenomenal - crispy and flavorful! I've also tried their onigiri options which are good as well. I have yet to try their crepes, but they do look yummy. Kung Fu Tea is also a great place to hang out with friends. They have ample amount of seating and also have Jenga and Uno cards to play with friends. It's great to see bubble tea places popping up in the suburbs more and more! This is one of the latest spots to open, and it's a welcome addition to the Ardmore area! We've been there a few times since they opened, and we've generally enjoyed the drinks we've gotten there. The ambiance is pretty nice too, and there's plenty of room to sit down, play games, eat, or just hang out. The last time we were there, I ordered a milk cap, which was absolutely delicious! I didn't really know what it was before ordering, but it's basically tea with some foamy milk on top, and it was really tasty! The foam was great, and having it mixed with the tea was great as well. I think the flavor was winter melon, which was a nice mild tea flavor to go with the richer foam. I'll definitely try another milk cap on a future visit! read more

Stopped in here last weekend with some friends after getting dinner at Tired Hands. We were originally looking for another place to grab drinks, but a lot of places close early in Ardmore. So right off the bat I have to give props to Kung Fu Tea for their later hours. It allowed us to still get drinks - just a different kind ;) The menu is large - almost overwhelmingly so for a first visit. I was surprised to see they had food available, which is nice if you want a snack. I ended up getting the Honey Oolong half sweet. It was delicious! I would definitely recommend. The option to customize your level of sweetness is always nice, and I think the half option was the right choice for me. Another nice thing about Kung Fu Tea is that they have games set up at their tables. We played a few rounds of Uno and I also saw some sets of Jenga scattered around. The cards were a little sticky which was kind of unsettling (especially because the teas have straws - why are people's hands sticky??) but we still had fun. Looking forward to stopping here in the future, especially now as the weather's getting nicer! read more

I was really excited when I found out a Kung Fu Tea was opening nearby (that wasn't in Chinatown), but I hated that there isn't a designated lot. There's street parking and other lots nearby along with parking in the rear (as stated in the store window). I've been to this location three times; the first two times I brought my own glass bottles and always asked, beforehand, if they could place my drink in my reusable glass instead of their plastic cups, and both times they said yes. The third time, I was told they would be able to place it in my glass bottle again, but was later told they couldn't and it would be placed in their plastic cup. I was upset by this and even more upset when I got home. I had placed the cup in my bag to easily carry as I walked back to my car and drove back home. Opened my bag to discover the plastic cup wasn't fully sealed all around (as seen in the photos) and my drink had spilled over the numerous contents of my bag, creating a very sticky mess (on my two notebooks, my wallet, a folder, and my bag itself). It was good to see this franchise expanding into so many different locations. I remember when it first opened in Philly's Chinatown. The menu has some new stuff, but I like sticking to the traditional drinks. My favorite being their oolong milk tea with herbal jelly. So glad to see the slow and steady migration of bubble tea into the suburbs! This space is much brighter than the Chinatown location. There are baskets of Jenga pieces to play and scare other patrons when the tower falls, as well as decks of cards laying around. From what I've had so far (Passionfruit green tea and oolong milk tea), this new spot meets all expectations! Menu is similar to other locations - teas and milk teas with customizable toppings, ice level, sugar level, etc. and a small selection of food items. I appreciate that certain drinks/flavors are marked for containing gluten (thus assuming all others are gluten free) and caffeine if you want to be aware of either of those. They had a BOGO opening weekend but the "get one" was limited to a small selection of 4 drinks. It was unclear whether you had to buy from that selection b/c the message was inconsistent across customers (our friends). Oh well. What they could do is provide hand-held menus. When you enter, you face the order counter, but the menu is on your left facing your right so you kind of have to rubberneck to the side as you line up to squint at your options. There is a good amount of seating available, but I wouldn't call it "a lot." Also when we came in the other day, it was quite loud and hard to carry a conversation near the front. It's more quiet in the back. Unfortunately there is no dedicated parking lot. In this area, it's either street or lot parking. I went to Kung Fu Tea many timwith my family to order boba and last time I went I tried their popcorn chicken. Every time I go their the service is pretty quick. The drink selection is good but there are not that many food options. The popcorn chicken was good but we look forward to trying something else next time. Update 6/1/20: We picked up a few drinks to go this week, first time in awhile since they only recently reopened during this COVID pandemic. We've tried making some Boba drinks at home and they just don't compare to a proper mix at the shops. I tried the Milk Cap option for the first time and thought it was pretty solid. It contains a frothy topping which makes it somewhat tart to go along with the usual dose of sweetness, so it was a nice change up from the usual straight up sugar blast. Went there opening night to support my favorite bubble tea chain. The space is very large with lots of seating and plenty of room to add more seating in the future. They offer games like Jenga and Uno to play while you enjoy your tea. The service was very friendly and quick. They have pretty late hours too (open until 12am on Fri and Sat) and it is located conveniently near the Ardmore septa train station. Also they have some snacks on their menu like sandwiches and crepes. My go-to favorite is the traditional black milk tea with no sugar, light ice and light boba! My first visit was yesterday during their grand opening and 6 different milk teas which were all pretty yummy. Today I went back for a large order for my boss and coworkers to try the popcorn chicken and Takoyakis. Also grabbed myself a Taro Milk Tea w/Mango Jelly. They were all soooo delicious!! I hope they're location is on the app soon so I can order ahead. Since they're so brand new of course they were busy and hopefully will stay that way. Staff is friendly and accommodating, excellent service, prices are beyond reasonable and so far everything I've had is really good. Ugh, I keep going back here because it's close and convenient, but that's all it has going for it. Pros: -Convenient -They use actual tea instead of powder. Cons: -SO expensive. It's $6 for a hot milk tea with boba. The same drink is $3-4 anywhere else! -It's always sickening sweet. I try to order it with less and less sugar every time and they can't seem to make it happen. The least amount of sugar possible still gives me diabetic fits. -Terrible customer service. When they make me a full-sugar drink even when I try to get it less sweet, they get very indignant and try to gaslight me, insisting it has less sugar and often refusing to make the drink the way I order it. Just purchased a large thai tea. It was packed with so much ice that I only took three sips before my drink was done. This is a terrible business practice and greedy. I've been visiting PA very often these couple months for business. I happened to be there during their grand opening week and took advantage of their BOGO promotion. The drinks came out pretty well done especially the boba was cooked right, deliciously chewy. My colleague and I also ordered appetizers on the side, I really like the popcorn chicken. The texture of the popcorn chicken was fried right and the salty level was done at the right amount. The environment was very welcoming and the staffs here are friendly. Aside from this, I will be coming back to this area more often for work and will stop by for some more drinks and food on the menu. As a tea lover, i have to say their tea is freshly brewed with good quality tea leaf. I enjoyed the nature fragrance from the real tea infusion of every drinks I had from this place. I like the product. I did have an issue regarding inconsistent service. Unable to resolve the issue I asked for professional contact information for owner/ boss and was told by site manger he did not have any way to contact his boss other than speak to him when he irregularly appears at the Ardmore location. I was told if the shop was in a fire, he couldn't contact him, for example. I don't like being lied to. The other thing I learned is that I, the customer, would likely endanger an employees job by raising this issue with the owner or boss, Mr. Eddie Chen. I seriously doubt that a 20 cent mistake would cost the employee her job. Lying to customers.... They lost an additional sale today. I enjoyed my first purchase and was thinking about how to incorporate KF Teas in a large meeting I am planning. I could have been a customer that spend $1000 or more per year here easy. read more

I came here with a bunch of friends for opening weekend. They offered a BOGO special on four select teas, but I was interested in something more fruity, so I opted out. My friend ordered a taro slush, and I ordered a sunshine pineapple tea with lychee jelly. We also ordered takoyaki, popcorn chicken, and an avocado rice ball to split. I love pineapple anything, and this beverage has been on the "must try" list in the back of my mind for a while. The sunshine pineapple tea was sweet, slightly tart, and absolutely refreshing. However, I will definitely order the drink at 50-70% sweetness level next time, there was a bit too much sugar for my liking. The sweetness in the taro slush, on the other hand, was absolute overkill and undrinkable. Three of us sampled the beverage and collectively agreed. Thankfully, the staff re-made the drink at a lower sugar level. The popcorn chicken wasn't too greasy and, the bites were crisp and flavorful. The takoyaki wasn't too bad either, as far as bubble tea snacks go. The location itself is sleek and quite spacious, with some games such as Jenga to keep customers entertained.
