the produce section of a grocery store
Lilly C.

Back in 1883 a 24 years old son of German immigrants started his own grocery store because the company that he was working for refused to make him partner...fast forward to 2017 it is now the third largest retailer in the US behind Costco and Wal-mart. This location off of Cumming Highway and E. Cherokee Dr. is at the edge of Forsyth county and Cherokee County in the Woodmont Village Shopping Center with an Ace Hardware and Las Palomas Restaurant. There is a small but cozy Starbucks located inside this store as well... The store's layout is similar to some of the older stores where the produce is on the right. The meat department is in the back while the frozen foods and dairy products are towards the left. This store doesn't have as big of a healthy organic food section as some of the ones I've been to but still they have about 3 dozen or so of varieties of organic vegetables, fruits and seasonal produce. Most of the time when I shop in a Kroger I don't interact with the employees only because I know what I'm looking for and which aisle it's located on....so I can't comment on what the employees are like here but when I'm here people seem pleasant enough....enough that if I'm in the area I wouldn't mind stopping by again.

In the event that you are looking for a bakery, give this Kroger a try. Check out this photo of a cupcake wedding.

Couldn't have been more pleased with the bakery! Check out the photo of my daughters cupcake wedding dress designed by this Kroger. I plan to post another review as soon as they 'fix' the current cupcake disaster left by another bakery!! Always check with Kroger before using a costly bakery!!

The 5PM what's for dinner question is answered. Your work day is done and it's time to figure out…read morea dinner meal plan. Instead of a fast food stop, Publix is a great choice at hand. They happen to have an exceptional solution for those dinner blues. A hot & cold bar that can whip up meals in an instant, or you can grab n go straight off the shelf. From friend chicken, potato wedges, hot veggies, or Mac n' cheese, it's all delicious. Sweet fruit salads, green salads, and granola cups with assorted fruit topping near the mixed bagged salads. Pre made meals which include sides, quiches, sandwiches, salads, soups, egg rolls, and more, all of which you heat or eat instantly. Want something easier try the cold cuts, cheese, fresh fruit, and crackers creating a charcuterie tray. Still not convinced, they also have sushi and seaweed salads too. If you feel more up to cooking a quick meal in 30, there is always prepared meals in the meat department, already stuffed or seasoned and ready to cook. Hope I have given you a few dinner options to guide you through the store. Once you find your meal the next part is just picking it up, paying, then head home to enjoy. Or you can dine in at the tables near the front of the hot bar. Either way your dinner plans are covered thanks to Publix, Bon appétit!

The women working were kind and efficient despite being busy. I had the chicken tender sub tossed with Buffalo sauce. It was good and filling. My husband had the chicken, bacon, ranch sub and enjoyed it. He saved the other half of the sandwich and ate it the next day and said it was just as good on day 2. The store was clean and organized. Can't say we'll be back since we don't expect to be in the area again but I recommend stopping here if you want a good sandwich!

The reason I say almost is the only reason I had to take off a star. Our last experience at the deli, yesterday, was delicious BUT super slow. We've both worked food service before and understand what happens when there's so many orders and so little staff. But a lot of the reason it took 35-40 minutes total for us to receive 1 sub and 1 wrap was because the gentleman making our food had to leave the station at the request of every single ingredient to restock because the stations were next to empty (onions, lettuce, cheese, etc.) and had little to no urgency when doing so. Maybe a rough day, I get it. We're all human here. What I don't really get is the lack of support for him. As the line was growing, another gentleman put multiple mobile orders in front of him and proceeded to neither at least try to help nor reach out to anyone else who wasn't busy for help. As a consumer, of course my perspective is never as accurate, but it seemed to me like there were multiple people who could have jumped in. Now we'll definitely be back. We love y'all! but please support your people, especially your deli folks. Just thought I'd put this out there before someone with less space for patience and understanding comes along.

They have a little of everything. Not only groceries but also baked goods such as sweet bread, home made donuts, muffins and cakes. They also have towards the back ready to eat roasted chicken, beef, fish and pork that you can purchase by the pound. I have to say the place is spotless. The outside of the shopping center is nothing to look at but inside; the floor and shelves are obviously meticulous maintained. I met some lovely customers that gave me their favorite pork taco recipes while I was waiting to purchase some meat. The cashier who looks like she also owns the place was super sweet and answered all my questions. As far as prices are concerned I think they're easily 20% cheaper than say a Kroger for everyday items. Their produce and fresh meats are close to 35% cheaper. I had a great time shopping here while I was waiting for my laundry up the street. I would definitely come back again next time I'm in the area. 1192nd review 2/2/2018 112th for 2018

They were authentic and not greasy which is remarkable in itself. I ordered a tostada with ceviche. I think they were out of and gave me the shrimp combo instead. It was delicious! The avocado was perfectly green and all the ingredients for fresh. We washed it down with Mexican Coca-Cola. ¡Perfecto! I cannot wait to go back to Costa de Jalisco!! We went to the bar first for drinks and the happy hour specials ending at 6pm. The waitress was nice, and the guys were super talkative when they knew we were Dolphins fans, and the guy shucking oysters was focused but still laughed at jokes or conversations. The cucumber cocktail was great and refreshing, the $2 beer special is unbeatable. We got a table fast when we were ready to eat with the group and the server was fun and engaged. We had multiple rounds of oysters (which were good sized Gulf oysters), fish dip, shrimp cocktail, and wings. The star of the show was my plate, their soft shell crab plate. You don't see it on anyone's menu often so I had to get it. It was juicy and the crabs were really good sized, I was full. The inside is cute, very clean Florida bar style.
