A week later I had the most amazing shrimp cocktail - tender and sweet and almost double the size for $4/each. I don't mind paying $7. I've paid $13 each for good shrimp cocktail. Just a lot of money to spend on something so disappointing. Our sea bass was also tough. Flavor was okay. The piece was fairly thin - possibly why it was overcooked? If you've been there before you know that guests stood in line in front of the refrigerated counter showcasing their fresh seafood selections and placed your order at the end of the counter - if you had guests, if you were like me, I firmly advised them to know what they wanted when we hit the order counter. This evening was entirely different; I arrived before my wife and was greeted by a host from a stand halfway between the front door and the refrigerated case. Tiffany greeted me and asked how many in my party and said she would seat me. I asked, don't we order at the counter? She said, no, tonight is the first night we are trying full table service. What a great change! Chelsea was our server, we ordered drinks and had time to look at the menu. Far more relaxing! Arriving just before 5 pm, we enjoyed happy hour prices for our beverages, and I ordered fresh northwest coast oysters as an appetizer at $1 less per oyster during happy hour. They were fantastic, tasting of the briny pacific ocean, plump and properly served with mignonette. The servers and assistants were all attentive and each advised that table service was new, so they were testing it. Our dinners were well prepared and delicious, I had one of the best salmon filets I've been served, grilled to perfection and served with my request for lemon butter only. When presented the check, I asked about inputting my phone number as a regular we've been earning points. The server was able to input my number at the table and we received a discount on top of it. I certainly hope Chula continues with the table service as it was far more relaxing and less hectic than standing in line. Either way, the seafood has always been exceptional - kudos to the chefs. The Lomo Saltado was the eye catcher here and what made us want to come here. We arrived roughly 40 mins ahead of time (didn't know traffics would be light). That was no problem. They sat us immediately. It was a nice day so we sat outside. It was a beautiful view of the golf course with the burning Toro sign adding a fun touch. Our waitress was a sweet young woman who was very knowledgeable of the menu. She answered every question as if she was cooking it all herself. We ordered a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc to start out. Once the bottle arrived we ordered our starters. We shared the Lomo Saltado and Empanadas. The empanadas were delicious, and the herb sauce on the side elevated the flavors. The Lomo Saltado was delicious on a bed of rice. My only disappointment is that traditional Lomo Saltado comes with Fries and lots of veggies. This was great, but I was hoping for those fries and veggies. I ordered the Red Snapper Fillets with Coconut Rice as my main course and my wife ordered the Lobster Fried Rice. We felt these would pair great with the white wine we were already enjoying. As stated in the picture, prawns were included with my dish but I had them put them on the side and my wife enjoyed them. The lobster came on the shell lying on top of the fried rice. My wife felt like that was a nice touch. She chopped up the prawns and mixed that in also. She loved it a lot. Even our waitress thought it was a nice add. My red snapper fillets came a top a bed of snap peas that were sliced up and in a pool of a coconut based sauce. This dish was amazing. I cannot rave enough about the snap peas in this dish. They brought the enter thing to life. The coconut rice was also amazing and cooked to perfection. I do feel like it could have benefited from having a bit of crispy rice mixed into it. I forget the name of the free dessert the waitress brought us, but it was amazing. It was billed as more of a soufflé but I found it to be more like a lava cake on a cookie shell. They served with a a slightly lemony ice cream. You wouldn't think that would work with chocolate but it totally did. After our meal I wanted to stay a bit to drink a bottle of water and let some of that alcohol settle out of my system since I was driving and don't like to risk the biscuit. So we stopped at the bar. I got my sparkling water and my wife ordered a dirty martini. She said it was the best dirty martini she ever had. Service (4/5): Service overall is pretty good. Not the most friendly, not super efficient, but efficient with a focus on the details. What you expect at a fine dining establishment. Drinks (4/5): Ocean Prime has a nice happy hour that ends at 6 p.m. on weekdays on both drinks and food. On my most recent visit, I had a $5 Heineken (there are several other options). There are also discounts on wine and select cocktails. Food (4/5): I went big on my last visit. There are a good number of appetizers on their happy hour and I started with two: the jumbo shrimp cocktail and the High Street roll. The shrimp cocktail is served with some dry ice which makes for an awesome visual aspect to the dish. Four large shrimp, chilled, in a bed of cocktail sauce. You can't really mess this one up. The High Street roll has tempura shrimp, cream cheese, scallions, and beef carpaccio. A+ for creativity. From there, I had the 8 ounce Piedmontese steak which was a first. It's an expensive steak, similar to wagyu in terms of quality. It's a matter of preference. Piedmontese is a lean, high-protein steak which wagyu is ultra-rich and buttery. It did taste different from any steak I've ever had in my life, but in a good way. Medium rare, of course. I ordered a twice baked potato a la carte for my side. A fantastic meal all-around, though not inexpensive. Happy hour does help though.
