Good fried chicken. Sides like macaroni and mashed potatoes were good as well! Mixed bucket of chicken was a good combo too.

Our meals were amazing! I had wild game bratwursts of spicy bison and elk brats with house made kraut and a side of spatzle. They were a special of the day and were excellent! My husband loves chicken Marsala and their marsala was up to his standards. He ordered it over pasta and loved it all. The ambiance is excellent, the service superior (our server was Eileen and she is the best!). This restaurant is a true hidden gem, worth driving to Cornville to eat there. I highly recommend it. I have only the best compliments for this establishment and staff. It is well worth the trip to go there and enjoy!

Wow, wow, wow! We've visited Manzanita Restaurant twice now and both times have been…read moreextraordinarily memorable! The owners, Suzanne & Randy, have created a special dining experience in the heart of Verde Valley Wine Country. This hidden gem offers an eclectic menu that truly sets it apart from anything else in the area. To steal my wife's description, "Manzanita Restaurant is a culinary oasis in the middle of nowhere, where flavors collide, and memories are made." SERVICE: The staff is warm, friendly, and knowledgeable. It's obvious that they take pride in ensuring a memorable dining experience. We couldn't have felt more welcome or had better dining experiences on both visits. WINE: Manzanita has a decent selection of wines by the glass and bottle. It's not the largest, but there's something to pair with all dishes. Both times we had a fantastic bottle of Zinfandel from Geyserville, CA, which paired great with our meat entrées. The bottle price is very reasonable, as we used to be members of that winery and know what they charge. FOOD: Outstanding gourmet game specialties and German delights. We've tried several soups, sides, and main dishes and have enjoyed them all. Soups of the Day have ranged from Pumpkin Purée, Ostrich, to Manhattan Clam Chowder. Salads can be added as a side or as an entrée, including adding Chicken Breast or Grilled Salmon. We've also tried a couple appetizers like the Edamame & Roasted Brussel Sprouts In a ginger soy glaze with sesame seeds, and the French Escargot served in mushroom caps with garlic herb sauce. Main entrées we've tried include an Orange Roughy Special with red cabbage, a Manzanita Salad with Chicken Breast, Fried Shrimp, Coconut Shrimp, Bison Tenderloin with vegetable medley, Venison Medallions Special with a creamy mushroom gravy and mashed potatoes, Antelope Steak Special, and a Prime Rib Special. There's nothing I wouldn't hesitate to order again. I'm half German and love German cuisine, but amazingly I've yet to try anything from that part of the menu. They have a couple pasta dishes as well. The restaurant is not overly fancy or extremely modern, but it's slightly upscale, comfortable, and the food and service are both stellar. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply seeking a unique dining experience, this family restaurant won't disappoint. We can't wait for our next visit!

We understand Cattlemen's Steakhouse and Lounge has been in Show Low for quite some time, but cannot compare it to anything prior to February 8, 2026. We understand a remodel occurred in early 2025 and have seen a few pictures of the 'old' look to compare to what we experienced. Overall as far as the decor, it looked nice and the booths were comfortable, however the chandeliers with the bright white LED lights are out of place and annoying! The ambience of a rustic steakhouse should be comforting and relaxing, not cause anxiety due to bright lighting. If the bulbs were softer and less bright white more similar to old fashioned incandescent lights it would probably be fine, but those bulbs are just awful. Yes, it's nice to be able to see your food, but those bulbs make you feel like you are eating in a Walmart. As for decor on the walls, it's too bland and generic and from pictures of the old place, the rustic cowboy look is virtually non existent compared to what was on the walls before. Sometimes less remodeling is better than gutting and removing everything and replacing it with something totally different. It reminded us of the Show Low Cafe as they removed ALL evidence of what was there before that made the place charming and feel LOCAL. Both SLC and Cattlemen's would fit in just fine in a big city now with no evidence left of the previous local charm and art from the looks of it other than the outside of the buildings. I am guessing that many of the locals may feel that they are being thrown under the bus in favor of attracting new customers from faraway places that may have bigger bank accounts. As far as our meal is concerned we actually were pleased for the most part. That evening someone in the kitchen ruined the clam chowder soup by putting broccoli in it. To be fair, the waitress (Stephanie-very nice) did warn us about it and said we could get something else if we didn't like it. We tried it and it tasted like both soup pots were just combined to make one soup. It didn't taste anything like clam chowder, but it wasn't disgusting, so we ate it. A bit on the salty side, but it was edible. That's a huge mistake to make; hopefully the person that made it learned not to do it again. My husband ordered the $45 Filet Mignon and I ordered the $35 12 oz Ribeye. Both of our steaks were cooked properly and tasted very good. The Ribeye could have used a bit more seasoning, but the flavor of the steak itself was very good. The baked potatoes were quite small and I couldn't even cut through the skin on mine, so that was disappointing, as I like to eat the peel of the potato if it's baked right. It was a bit shocking to be served the steak and potato on a normal sized dinner plate where most of the plate was empty. Apparently the soup or salad is included as one of the side options and not above and beyond the 2 sides included in the meal. I remember the days when you got soup or salad and 2 options meant you get 2 side options and soup or salad. At least that was the way things normally went at a restaurant other than a fast food place. It was nice that the menu stated that bread is served upon request, so we didn't sit there and just wait for the bread and not have a clue that you have to ask for it for it to come to your table. Our waitress was very nice and the servers were nice and our meal was served in a timely manner, so no complaints in the service department. Have read that this place has new owners and food quality and service have gone downhill since change of ownership--cannot comment on that other than to say to any 'new' owners or any old owners looking to remodel or refresh an existing long time establishment, it isn't wise to remove all evidence of what existed prior to the remodel or refresh or change in owners. You don't throw the baby out with the bathwater if you want to continue to exist, especially in a small town where the locals that live there year round consist of your most likely customers on a consistent basis. Coming from someone coming from a big city environment down south, that is why we leave the city--to experience local places with local ambience and locally inspired decor that reflects the town we are visiting or moving to and are different than what we have in the big city. Don't just copy and paste what the big corporate owned chain restaurants or stores in the big cities are doing, that's not what most people are looking for. We can get that by spending our money at Outback or The Keg or the likes of those places. We choose your establishment because it is locally owned (hopefully) and different than the usual chain restaurants or stores.

I tried to avoid an all fried meal, so had their broiled cod, steamed veggies plate. I didn't want the seafood pasta salad and substituted with hush puppies (oh well so much for not wanting anything fried). The broiled cod was pretty terrible, rubbery and overcooked and tasteless. I really had to try and finish all of my meal. The steamed veggies felt like they were frozen and just steamed up. Hush puppies were solid but then again you can't go wrong with the taste of fried, right? They have a soda fountain here and seltzer water and lemons available. Place was clean and bathrooms were fine. Also, had an outside patio space too. Sadly, I really wanted to like this place, but everything was pretty lackluster here minus the excellent service. I doubt I'll be coming back here, unless I may want some hush puppies...

Food was all cooked perfectly so no complaints on that and highly recommend those. The chef was absolutely ON POINT and really the only reason I rated so high. However, the service was horrible. We came to Sedona to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. It was a big deal so we wanted to have a really nice dinner to celebrate. Made reservations at 7:15 about 2 weeks before we arrived. In those we let them know we were celebrating and we asked for a nice view if possible. We arrived for dinner at 7:12 and it was packed. We had to stand by the door waiting for a table for about 30 mins which I know it's busy so we were willing to be patient but that was just the start to the awful hospitality. Once they finally did sit us down, they gave us a table in the back of the restaurant next to the bathroom so quite literally the worst view but again, we were willing to be forgiving. (I've been in the industry for 8 years so I get how it is and I try my best to be aware of the situation.) Waiter comes over to say a quick/not very warm hello and says what do you want. We order the apps and ask sweet wine recommendations to pair with the oysters. He had no idea, and had to look at the menu and basically read to us what we could read for ourselves. Didn't seem like he really knows the menu that well. We wait a bit for the drinks and he brings the bottle of wine over without an ice bucket. He lets my husband taste it (kind of ignored me and didn't let me taste it too which was weird) and we just kept the bottle bc we knew service was being slow and we didn't want to wait for another. We asked him for an ice bucket and he never brings it over, we ended up having to ask the manager to bring it over finally so our white wine doesn't get warm. While we were waiting for apps for some reason the manager randomly took our plates and silverware from the table so when the apps came we had to ask another worker (not our server or the manager) if we could have those back. The server did check in on us but we felt so rushed the whole time. Asked us while we were eating apps twice if we were ready to order dinner and we just wanted to enjoy our night. The third time he asks us what we want (we were still eating apps) I was literally looking at the menu to decide and he was like "are you ready now?". Sir I am literally reading the menu right now. So I rushed my order and thank god the food was amazing or else I would have been livid. Finally the dinner comes out and we start enjoying that glorious/lifesaving food. While my husband had finished eating and they cleared his plate, I was still eating and the server comes over and asks if we want desert. We say no (woulda said yes if the service was better) and then he immediately says "ready for the check then?". Note I am STILL EATING and we have half a bottle of wine left. We just felt so rushed it was awful. And they didn't mention anything about our anniversary, which just shows awful hospitality. We had to ask him for the specials because he "forgot to tell us". Like we are spending a lot of money for great food but also great service and ambiance of a restaurant. It just seemed like operations weren't coherent and everyone seemed stressed. Again I had been a server for 8 years, I know how it goes. But that is no excuse for rushing us. And it's not like we were taking a long time. They just don't know how to take reservations, have hospitality, or handle a rush properly. I just wanted to feel special since we were having a special day. Most places offer free dessert or something or at least a note or at least a server with some personality. He was very abrasive and we didn't feel very welcome or like he appreciated our business at all.

We ended up sitting outside, and I loved that the patio was covered and equipped with heaters, which made it cozy even with the weather acting up a bit. It was lightly sprinkling, and we did get a few drops here and there, but honestly, it didn't take away from the experience. Now let's talk about the food--absolutely delicious. The deviled eggs were generously stuffed and beautifully presented, which made them just as enjoyable to look at as they were to eat. We shared the filet mignon, served with mushroom risotto, and wow... it was completely out of this world. Perfectly cooked, rich, and full of flavor. We paired it with the honey garlic carrots, and they were the perfect balance of sweet and savory--definitely a standout side. I also ordered a smoked blueberry sour cocktail, and it was so good--unique, refreshing, and well-crafted. Service was solid and consistent throughout the meal. Nothing over-the-top, but everything came out smoothly and as expected. Overall, this spot really delivered--from the ambiance to the flavor-packed dishes. I'd absolutely come back again.
