I haven't walked into a Krispy Kream in about 4 years. Boy was I pleasantly surprised & impressed. I was also afforded outstanding customer service by a young man named Bobby who will eventually have his own store or business. He knows how to treat customers. I could tell when I walked in the door that Bobby had something bothering him. Now I may be wrong But he didn't allow what ever may have been bothering him to be put aside and treat me like I was the most important person in the room. The place was a lot cleaner than I remember and the selection of doughnuts was very impressive. I'm not done with Bobby yet. When it came time to check out he told me that they were having a promotion going and that he was going to apply it because I didn't ask and I wasn't aware of it. The discount with the promotion was $5 off. My friends and I decided we wanted donuts and looked up this one that was the closest and that there fresh warm ones were 5pm-7pm. So we headed over to this location. It was 6:10pm. I went through the drive through. I ordered a dozen and a 1/2 a dozen. When she handed it to me they felt cold, I said are these warm, she looked straight at me and said "yes" I said are you sure? Stopped in to try the Thanksgiving Pie collection. Lemon Cream Pie, Chocolate Silk Pie, Apple Crumble Pie and Blueberry Crisp Pie. I ordered the dozen and got 3 of each. I rolled into Krispy Kreme at 6:30 a.m., half-asleep and fully expecting mediocrity--and then it happened. The Hot Light was on, the donut track was rolling, and I was reborn. Watching those golden rings ride the conveyor like sugary royalty on a victory lap was oddly therapeutic. I was given a fresh donut off the line and instantly understood why Homer Simpson risked everything for a donut--it melted in my mouth like sweet, buttery air. Honestly, if heaven has a carb section, it probably looks exactly like this. The donuts at Krispy Kreme are always good, especially the vanilla crème filled. But the staff hasn't mastered how to make a good cup of coffee. When you ask for milk and sugar or Splenda , you get little of each and then told to fill it up yourself at the kiosk. I've encountered this every time I've gone. My wife has been RAVING about the level of customer service she received at this location today. Not only were the Donuts fresh and delicious, the bakers brought green balloons out for my two young kids, gave them both Krispy Kreme hats and proceeded to laugh when my kids popped those balloons on the ceiling. I've used these guys for several large orders and they always come through, never had a single issue. Always friendly and always have a ton of fresh donuts to choose from. My favorite of when they literally take them right off the rollers so they are still warm.
