Just had the sweetest (no pun intended) experience at this DQ location. My son just got his cast off after broken arm. The dr told him he still has to wear a brace for two more weeks and continue no big physical activities. You can imagine being the last of school, that's a bummer for an 11-year-old boy to hear! We went to get a treat as a consolation prize before I had to take him back to school. His first choice was Dairy Queen! We went through the drive-through and unfortunately it was closed. I was trying to look up somewhere that would be open and on our way back to school when the owner popped his head out of the drive-thru window and asked how he could help us. When I explained our situation, he immediately offered a premade ice cream treat. He told us his machines weren't up and running yet, but that he could have his choice of dilly bars on the house! Of course, my son loved the ice cream! It's delicious but what was even more important to me was that my son saw that there are awesome people in the world who care about being kind to other people. That being said the one located at Higley Village Plaza (Queen Creek & Higley) is head a shoulders above the rest. We always go inside to order and the staff is consistently friendly, efficient and professional. I think this is definitely a reflection of the owner of this location who makes sure they are well trained. Plus, their prices are lower than their competition! Thank you Dairy Queen worker for making my drive thru order so messy. I went to Dairy Queen today. One car pulled in first and I was right behind that car. Car in front of me ordered then I did. I waited while they got their order then pulled up to the window and gave the guy my card to pay. No one is behind me yet he says pull to the left around the building and we'll bring it out. Like why??? No one is behind me. I ordered 4 blizzards and 1 shake. Nothing crazy at all. Whatever I pull around and wait and wait and wait. I have my driver side window down waiting. The lady comes out and walks over to the passenger side. No one is sitting in the passenger seat. I have a big SUV and the passenger seat was full of stuff yet she wouldn't walk around. She shoves the drink carrier in the car and walks away. I nicely told her no one was in that seat. She mumbled something and walked off. I'm sure she called me a B**ch but whatever. In the drink carrier we're 3 blizzards and the 1 shake. The 4th blizzard was shoved in the middle. When I took the drink carrier from her I was stretched across the front seat of my car. One blizzard fell out. 2 didn't have their lids on. Seriously got on my shirt so I had to go change. What a mess. read more

I didn't even know Dairy Queen's without grills still existed. I pulled in to drive-through, excited to order a chicken basket that I had been craving for weeks. I don't eat a lot of fast food, but when I do, it's usually a chicken basket from DQ. Turns out - no chicken basket. They have a few food options - but VERY limited. If you want to make it a meal, the meal will come with a bag of chips vs. the classic fries. I opted for the next closest option, a chicken sandwich. It was my mother in law's birthday and we ordered a ice cream birthday cake. We ordered this cake a week in advance to be picked up on Saturday. We were very specific about the details and we were assured it would be ready and as ordered. When my mother-in-law arrived to pick up the cake that I had paid for, it wasn't ready. It was completely plain with no frosting on top or fudge drizzled and nothing written on it. The guy said that he wasn't good at writing but the normal person wasn't there so he would go ahead and do his best. Why wasn't it even close to being complete 5 days later? Anyhow, getting off my soap box, I found this Dairy Queen to knock all rational expectations out of the park. The line moved quickly in the drive through, and I got my usual Dipped Strawberry Ghirardelli. The staff was friendly, and mixed my blizzard well. What really pleased me, however, was the way she handed it to me; instead of tilting it lazily and throwing it at me, she handed it to me upside-down. Ordered two banana splits and a sundae. Banana splits were given to me in a bag. When I open the bag the banana splits were very melted and messy. It seems as if they were sitting awhile. Maybe given us someone else's order that had been sitting because sundae was still solid. Also y'all could be a little more generous with the toppings with how much we we paying. read more

Second time in a row within a week we ordered blizzards -one Oreo Cookie and one Caramel,Heath bar,Brownie and they put absolutely no toppings mixed in. The Caramel Heath Brownie literally had 3 small pieces of a brownie, I did see a streak of caramel but could not identify any Heath bar what so ever, the Oreo Cookie had a bit more I believe but barley enough to speak of. We use to enjoy a fully loaded blizzard, now either they changed their policy or someone is not trained properly on portions. We had just come from a very disappointing experience at Bahama Bucks on Higley in Gilbert where upon asking what was their smallest size, the girl just told us to look at the menu in front of us and argued with me when I expressed my displeasure. And even worse, the manager fought with me too. We asked Dairy Queen on Queen Creek the same question and they answered it cheerfully! We told the manager about the bad experience we had at Bahama Bucks and he apologized for them and came to wish us well. Having kids, I make my way around the valley trying different spots for ice cream to be creative. But this is my go-to spot for sure! Family favorite. Best Dairy Queen in the area. Everybody who works at this location is so nice, attentive, and seem to actually care about pleasing the customers. They're always busy and move very efficiently! I've never had to wait an unreasonable amount of time for anything there. Everybody is always smiles, it's a pleasure going in there anytime! Keep up the good work!!! read more

We have always loved DQ blizzards.... kids are always satisfied, but we always ask for extra candy the blizzards for my wife and I, we get charged for extra candy, then by the time we are halfway thru them there is no candy. I even ask for pb sauce in mine, and never get it. Always teens working, no adult or even college age managers on duty. It must be nice being the closest DQ and knowing no one will drive out of there way to visit the other locations to get what they pay and ask for. Whoever this franchise owner is, they should really look deeply into their staffing. I would say we visit this location at least once a week, but I think its time to go elsewhere.... Its a shame that with how busy this place is, that they take advantage of their customer base. read more
