I've come here multiple times. Most recently for National Donut Day. Who can resist the hot sign or free donuts? Out of the many times I've been here, I've only had one bad experience. This occurred a few months ago around 5:30 in the morning. I'm not sure if the workers were busy and did not hear me sitting at the drive thru or what, but no one ever came to the speaker or window. So I proceeded to go inside and to my surprise the doors were locked, even though they had been opened since 5. Just to get someone's attention, I had to bang on the door. I was told they did this for safety reasons and they apologized for keeping me waiting for so long. Other than that experience, the rest of my experiences have been pleasurable. I ordered a dozen donuts for my bosses the other morning and asked that they be divided into 4 3-count boxes. The person taking my order refused to do that, so I told her I needed it done that way due to COVID regulations at my job around shared food. She instead charged me for 4 3 counts, which brought my total from around $15 for the dozen to $24 for the exact same amount of food. After that, she took my card and ran it multiple times, I have multiple charges on my card varying around 23-24 dollars and will have to dispute those with my bank. Come here if you want to be treated with disrespect & have your money stolen from you. The multiple charges were deliberate-- I got a notification for the first one, she went to hand my card back then snatched it right back out of my hands and ran it again and again and refused to give me a receipt. To add insult to injury, the donuts were ice cold even though the hot light was on, but after her running my card like that, I won't be back regardless. To be clear, the two-star review is of the SERVICE, not the food. Went through the drive-through at the Hoover, AL Krispy Kreme for a large (4 dozen doughnuts) order, and was told that to order more than 3 dozen at a time, one must come inside. Fine - there may have even been a notice about that posted on the drive-through screen that I missed. Went inside and was acknowledged by neither of the two associates near the front, one of whom appeared to be a manager. One associate filled the order, started to ring it up, then said he'd be right back - first (and only) verbal interaction I had with him. The one I assume was a manager then rang the order up on another register. No "Hi," no "Thank you," none of that - just gave me the order total and then handed me my receipt following. I had to ask him for a bag - you know, to make carrying the four DOZEN doughnuts easier to carry back to my car and beyond. No verbal acknowledgement, he just nodded and bagged the doughnuts. I really don't expect a ticker-tape parade or high-fives when I walk in someplace to conduct business, but it looks like a little customer-service coaching is in order here - based on the other reviews I've read, this looks like a consistent complaint about this location. All that said - the doughnuts are, thankfully, good. If I want both good service AND good food, Shipley Do-Nuts isn't very far away. read more

I would give ZERO reviews for this location if I could! I ordered 2 dozen chocolate glazed doughnuts and a dozen original glazed in an online order. I ordered them well ahead of when I planned to visit the store. I get to the store and I'm told they are out of the doughnuts and do not make online orders until you get there. I said well refund me what you don't have and I'll take the original glazed. The girl who was extremely unhelpful and un phased that I had travelled over 30 miles to get this. She told me that I had to receive a full refund and couldn't get anything I ordered. Even though it was in stock. Now the refund could take over 48 hours to be back into my account at the amount of $27. Completely unprofessional, horrible service. I've decided that Krispy Kreme is where sugar is born. These doughnuts are insanely tasty, and probably the worst thing for a person on the entire planet - that's with eating pure sticks of butter and bobbing for country fried steak in gravy on the same list. But it stands to reason that the worst thing for your body would be addictively delicious. So for those of you lucky enough to have a KK in your vicinity, or even a reasonable distance away (my friends and I would make trips to Montgomery 45 mins away JUST to get KKs), ya gotta drop in on 'em - ESPECIALLY when that "Hot Doughnuts Now" light is a-blinkin'. And this particular location seems to have that light on more than any other KK. I'm sure that's totally inaccurate, but the eyes see what they want to see...lol. I will say, though, that this one's pretty clean, is open 24/7 (ROK ON), and has a creepy-in-the-wee-hours factor of "0" ("1" being, well, the Roebuck location - a little sketched-out...). And you can watch the doughnuts being made as you eat 1 or 12. Entertainment and blood-glucose troubles, all in the same outing - Huzzah!
