These heaven bites( donuts) are made right in front of you, so you know they're hot and mouth watering. When you walk in the door the service is attentive and ready to serve you. The smell of the place will have you wanting all they have.. good luck just ordering a few, trust me try them all.

As promised, we returned for the donuts! These were absolutely delicious little bites to snack on - the cinnamon sugar flavor with the vanilla creme on the side was just the perfect mix of spiced and sweet! They were freshly made right on front of us which is always a treat in of itself. Super warm and soft - would love to try more flavors! The coffee was a bit acidic for my tastes but it was a nice contrast from the donuts. The staff were all very nice & welcoming, was happy to be served there!!

How adorable are these donuts?? Not just cute, but delicious! The service is very friendly and welcoming. Although they are little expensive, they are fresh and fun to share!

Atmosphere: Sons Donuts is a bright, welcoming donut shop with seating available inside. You can watch your donuts being made at the island in the middle of the store. Service: It was not too busy when we went, and our donuts came out warm and quickly! Food: We ordered the Strawberry Sugared Donuts with Sons Sauce. The donuts were warm and crispy. The strawberry sugar was both tart and sweet and paired well with the Sons Sauce, which was a passion fruit and lemon curd sauce. Overall: Stop by Sons Donuts for a sugary treat if you're in the Mountain Brook area. Though a little pricey, we enjoyed the Strawberry Sugared Donuts and will come back to try other flavors in the future!

My kids love watching the donut magic. Solid spot for breakfast or a snack. Warm and wonderful.

How cute are these little elderflower lemon donuts with jam?! And a cortado on the side? Blissful sigh, too perfect! Makes me wish I was back in Birmingham for the afternoon. Friendly service, good lighting and clean tables. I like that and you will too. Treat yourself to a donut - or two!

Heard people rave about Sons Donuts and decided to try it for myself today. Cute little storefront with inside and outside seatings. Employees are very nice and friendly. They make the mini donuts fresh after you order so it's best if you can eat them on the spot to get the full effect. We ordered a dozen at a little over a dollar each. For the flavors, we chose the salted caramel, the apple, and the strawberry. They were all pretty good. Their sauces are a highlight for sure. These mini donuts are cake textured, dipped in a kind of sugar mixture depending on what you order, and then topped with topping or sauce. Sons Donuts have some stiff competition here in Birmingham including Heavenly Donuts, Hero, etc. While I don't personally love these more than other full-sized donuts, it was fun to try for sure.

Had this one bookmarked and decided to check them out on a day off. The mini donuts were a great addition to a gift I put together. I went with The Carter (strawberry sugared) and the Glazed, classic vanilla. Although part of a gift I did keep a few for myself and they were enjoyable treats. Definitely not stingy on the sugar or the glaze. I sent an email with an observation/suggestion. I received a detailed response and look forward to seeing it implemented on my next visit. Please stop by this neat place with exceptional customer service!!!

Went there to check out a local donut shop and the donuts are tasty. We tried two flavors and both were good. These are mini donuts. 4 minis per flavor. They do make them when you order them and if you pay attention you can see they produce them. Nice experience.

Cute new place located right next door to Big Spoon Creamery. I enjoyed their unique twist on donuts! I thought that the dipping sauce they add would come on the side but they don't ask if you'd like it on the side but instead just drizzle it on top. This took away for me but it was still pretty good. I tried the Fisher which is a cinnamon donut with vanilla bean cream on top and I also tried the carter which is a strawberry sugared donut with "sons" sauce, a sweet caramel looking sauce but I'm not sure the exact flavor. The donut shop also has inside seating and looked like they had their own brand of beverages. It's worth a try.

Too expensive, too small. and the so called glaze leaves a lot to be desired. Not very friendly or outgoing in customer service.

There wasn't line when we got there but the crowd usually follows us for some reason so by the time we left there was standing room only and a line out the door. The bakery items were very fresh and tasty. I loved the Swedish gingerbread cookies - light and crisp. The lemon bar was delicious. They also have sandwiches that liked really good. Coffee - I got a vanilla latte extra sweet (no lavender) and my daughter said it was one of the best. I thought it was pretty good. I would go again when back in Birmingham!

Nestled in the Mountain Brook area, it's a little hard to see but is right next to Chez Lulu, which I think is a sister restaurant. Parking is a little tricky but manageable. I got there fairly late so the selection was a bit picked over, but I still got a good array of treats to bring home. Service was a touch slow but friendly. They were fairly busy. There's no room to eat inside or outside that I could discern; it's exclusively a take and go type of place. I got two pecan sandies to share with my parents, who were along for the ride, and then a cardamom bun and a peanut butter cookie for later. Sadly, I don't feel like any of the pastries really wowed. The pecan sandies were a little too dry (even as sandies go) and the pecans didn't taste toasted nor were they especially plentiful. The peanut butter cookie was the best thing, though it too was a little on the dry side - nice PB flavor though. I straight up didn't like the cardamom bun. The cardamom flavor was completely overwhelming, to the point it wasn't sweet at all, and instead tasted almost medicinal. The texture was nice but I couldn't finish it. Perhaps I arrived too late to order their specialties. I know they specialize in European goodies so if I return I'll make sure to try a croissant or something similar.

A bold claim, no? Maybe that's all you need to know... but I love writing about coffee shops so don't stop here. I love real deal coffeehouses (yes, in a house) and it's so cozy in here. I didn't stay to work because every seat was taken both times I came in (late morning), so get here early or perhaps late, if you want a seat in the middle of the week. The baristas couldn't be nicer. They took their time and chatted with customers, a rarity in those crowded coffee chains. Do check out those seasonal lattes (I mean, for February, a cherry blossom latte? Say less). My favorite is on the regular menu, a salted rosemary latte and it's literally perfect. I adjusted the sweetness level to be less so, and I loved the notes of floral rosemary and coffee. Pro tip: skip the line and order ahead!

Thankfully, they do have a drive-thru option which is a huge plus if you're short on time or don't want to deal with parking. Definitely still worth the stop for the coffee and atmosphere!!!
