This is home away from home for spiritual people. Coffee is the very best. Best place for Tarot and astrology, too.

There is a balcony in the second floor with a great view to enjoy your coffee.

A great metaphysical shop. The tarot readings were right on!!! The coffee was delicious and they have lots of unique items.

Great place to meet old friends and make new ones. Had an awesome kitty cat coffee. (White chocolate)

After visiting this shop several times, I discovered they sold frappuccinos that are out of this world delicious. If they were a chain, Starbucks would be worried. There is one specifically called a White Rabbit that is bursting with flavors that pop in your mouth. I am officially an addict! I decided to stop in today and treat myself to a frapp and was completely disappointed. I ordered the White Rabbit and unlike its usual consistency, it was more like water. I told the lady who made it, that it was not made the way I usually get it. Then, she politely explained to me that it was a "frapp" as if I did not know what it was. I perceived that as her implying that I was stupid. Although she smiled the entire time, there was a sense of sarcasm in her tone. At this point, I was angry and just ready to pay and leave. However, the owner proceeded to take the drink and correct the issue. I greatly appreciated his efforts and attempt to resolve the problem, but the attitude of the woman who initially made it just killed my taste for it altogether. The owner is always friendly and helpful if you need assistance, which is why this quickly became my go to spot for everything I need. Even though I had this negative experience with my beverage, I still highly recommend them for any of your metaphysical needs. Also, I still cannot sleep on the drinks because they are really good as long as the blonde isn't making it.

Lovely friendly helpful staff as always. Wide variety of selections too! One of my go to witchy stores ever since I started my craft.

A wonderful place to see and be seen. Their coffee bar is bar-non the best in the area. I had fun scratching my metaphysical itch.

I found multiple things for my Wiccan altar, and the cashier was very nice, and she helped me find what I needed.

The shop itself is pretty and the prices are reasonable. The only thing I didn't really enjoy was how unclean certain parts seemed

Ask the Community - Books Beans & Candles

I was wondering if y'all have Real Moldavite? Trying to find it for a birthday present for a friend! she's been wanting it for so long.

They have Moldavite and other interesting stones. Everything is real: the owner knows his stones and herbs.

Where do I order the coffee??? I went in and didn't see a place to order. I saw all the stuff for sale though.

Order at the register. If you want just coffee, it's self-service right next to the register.

Is there wifi available?

Yes, there is WiFi and I'm fairly certain it's free.

I came here to catch up with a great friend from high school! The space is the old Revelator Coffee…read moreshop (RIP, what happened to them?) but certainly lives up to their predecessor! The vibe here is different from the one out in Cahaba Heights, much more industrial chic. I'm on a quest to try every single local coffee shop in Birmingham, and I am never disappointed. I ordered from their special winter menu the iced minty matcha, which was fantastic. The mint was not too overpowering, super tasty. This is such a great spot! Definitely a more social coffee shop, from what I gathered on this Saturday morning. I always dread parking down here and then never have trouble. It's right across from the Alabama Theatre, so if there's nothing going on there, street parking is a breeze.

I was specifically super excited to try their seasonal matcha special, which was made with horchata (also from Salud!) and strawberries, if I recall correctly. Unfortunately, we walked in only to find they were out of the supplies needed to make the drink. :( I was caught off guard and didn't know what to order, but the barista recommended a latte with maple flavor so I went with that. The interior was clean and spacious and had a relaxed and calm but energetic feeling to it. Good place to hang out or work quietly. There's a self-service area to spruce up or fix your drink or grab lids or stir sticks. Service was nice and my drink came out quickly. It was pretty good but not really the "right" drink for me. I like my stuff on the sweet side and this was much more balanced and coffee-forward. That said, it held its own against my sugar-craving taste buds and I drank most of it, which is usually the hallmark of good brew, lol. I don't really blame them because I blanked on what to order and just went with what was suggested. It's probably a great suggestion for lots of other folks! Would be happy to come back and try a different beverage. Seems like a nice place overall. :)

(They only offer milk based milk options) The coffee itself had a good taste I do think I would have preferred just a regular iced coffee with the flavor but I know that for next time. I did enjoy being able to look at the offerings of the connected store (Basic.) they had many unique things for sell including clothing, shoes and various books. Tyler was great with helping make my selection of drink and I loved how patient he was with assisting on the order. The feel of the space was very comfortable and welcoming to creatives. I love the location and how it is in walking distance to so many things. Thankfully I was able to find a parking spot across the street and didn't have to pay to park. Basic. is the store sharing the space and it is nice to be able to browse their inventory while waiting for your drinks. They have some things that I have not seen anywhere else if I had to compare it to another store I would compare it to Earth Bound. Everything seemed to be environmentally conscious which is always nice to see.

It's located right along 2nd Ave amongst all of the restaurant hubbub. Street parking, but if you're willing to take a stroll for a couple blocks, it's easy. This is one of the busier coffee shops in town, I would advise against seeking silence here. It's a shared space with "basic," a vintage clothing and art retailer which has awesome things made by local people. The people that worked there were so friendly. I came because I had to get that crème brûlée latte. It did not disappoint. One of the most delicious coffee drinks I've had in a long time. It tasted like a hug, perfectly caramel sweet, and fun to drink. It's not often that coffee gets turned into an interactive experience. The pastries looks great. The couch in the front window looked like an awesome spot to post up with some buddies. There were plenty of tables and chairs to work at. I will most certainly be back.

Meow! We ordered the Abyssinian Latte with vanilla and cinnamon, and it was absolutely the bomb -- warm, smooth, and perfectly balanced without being overly sweet. The space itself is incredibly cozy and inviting. Colorful furniture, eclectic paintings, and musical instruments hanging on the walls give it a creative, artsy feel -- like they actually get used by a local band after hours. It has that relaxed coffeehouse charm where you could totally imagine Phoebe Buffay singing "Smelly Cat," yet it's also calm enough to have a real conversation or get a bit of work done on a laptop. Parking is street parking only, but we didn't have too much trouble finding a spot. They offer pastries and I noticed they also serve breakfast items, though we stopped in just for coffee this time. The shop was fairly full, which is always a good sign, but there were plenty of small tables that comfortably seat two to four people, so it never felt cramped. The baristas were super friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall positive vibe. My partner and I ended up lingering longer than planned while we talked through our day's plans -- always a sign of a great coffee spot.
