Came here on a Friday evening after work and the line was about 5 cars deep. When I left, the line was wrapped around the building. This place was popping!!! You would have through the line would have moved at a decent pace, but they were delayed on those hot and fresh glazed donuts (what I came for). I can't give it 5 stars because well....it wouldn't be fair to the places that actually deserve 5 stars, but compare to the downtown location, it definitely deserves 4 stars, ha. We tried the downtown location when this location was closed for renovation and the one on 280 is closed permanently....but never again. I would just bypass KK completely if that's the only location left! Hot now donuts are great. Employees appear to rather be elsewhere, but they get the job done. Krispy Kreme is back baby! Reopened on June 9, 2025 after being closed for several months for equipment updates. Everything looks the same to me. Apparently the changes were made in the back room. Workers were apathetic, but my expectations are pretty low from workers in these types of jobs. The hot glazed donuts are still pretty amazing. I love their doughnuts, but it isn't worth even going because of how slow and rude their employees are. Because I live literally 2 minutes away, I've given them chance after chance, but I think I'm finally done and will stick with Shipley's (where I've never had anything but an amazing experience!) My recent visits at this Krispy Kreme have been much better than my visits in years past. I'm not sure if they have new people or did some training, but I have noticed a better customer service experience. I have also noticed that they actually seem to have their variety of doughnuts available for purchase. There is a very pleasant gentleman that has helped me a few times via the drive through. Today, I stopped by to get a gift card and there was a customer being unnecessarily difficult. The young ladies behind the counter handled the situation well--while dealing with an ever growing line. The hot light was on. (I recorded it because I was about to make a TikTok) I get to the window and asked the employee did they give free donuts when the hot light is on and she said yes how many do you want. I said 2 (it was my fiancé and I in the car.) she then proceeds to tell me that their hot light wasn't on. I said ma'am I just recorded it, it is on. During this shelter in place... Krispy Kreme has proven to be essential. The drive-thru line has consistently been wrapped around the building. I came on a Tuesday afternoon to get doughnuts to drop off for my god-sons bday. The line was around the building and to the street. Due to the special occasion, (and having nothing else to do) we patiently waited 45 minutes. They do offer an option to order online and have it delivered! We ordered a dozen original glazed and a dozed assorted (mostly chocolate iced and lemon filled). It was worth the wait. The donuts were very fresh and my godson was pleased. read more

I'm so saddened by this KK location. Really, I wish I could give a 2.5. They really aren't "A OK" but they are KK and it's kind of hard to mess up KK. So, here's the food and the bad... Good 1. Drive thru. Getting your donuts without having to get out of your car is about as American as it gets. And once the car in front of me paid for my order! 2. Watch the donuts being made. That is so cool. 3. Hot donuts. This is the reason this place got three stars instead of two. 4. The KK brand. KK is often doing something cool and different so check out the special and enjoy. Bad 1. Customer service. This is hit or miss. Sometimes great, sometimes I think they are more annoyed that customers are there at all. 2. Out of certain flavors. I pretty much expect them to say "we are out of that" several times whenever I'm creating an assortment box. 3. Inconsistent quality. One day I got a ton of chocolate on the donut and literally the Very next day the chocolate "covered" hardly had a drizzle. So, overall, I will be back here because of the location and because I love KK but this location is one of the worst I have ever been to. On Thursday, February 29, 2024, Leap Day. I purchased a dozen assorted doughnuts but I didn't get what I requested. I took pictures of my order. Now, on the receipt it says exactly what I ordered but not in my box. I didn't get my Birthday doughnut, nor the two lemon filled but I received raspberry. Next the 2 custard were stale including 4 out of my glaze doughnuts that I received for $2.29 in which I can't believe that they weren't fresh. Because I was there early in the morning after 7 am. ( 7:08 is the time on my receipt) was in the drive through which took a few minutes because the line was long. But, how can doughnuts not be fresh especially when they open at 6am. This is first time in all these years I've purchased doughnuts at this store that I received stale doughnuts and my order is not correct. I'm very disappointed. I've been calling each day since to talk to a manager but no one is picking up the phone. I wanted to let them know my concerns and that I wanted to see about picking up my free dozen doughnuts on Sunday March 3, 2024. It states expired that day but I can't get there until Sunday. Therefore, I'm asking for a one day extension please. Because, I do believe in giving second chances, and I do want my free dozen doughnuts to include my replacement's and missing doughnuts as well. There's always at least a 30-45 minute wait at the drive through, especially at night at around 4:30-8pm. Best time would be to go earlier. Probably an early morning rush there too, so maybe 10-2pm would be the best time. Sometimes the line is all the way out on 31. I wish they'd be like Chic Fil a and have 2 lines going and maybe curbside pick up options. Maybe they do but this location stays busy. Krispy Kreme is always delicious. They have a sign posting saying that the lobby is open on the drive-through. But the lobby doors have a huge sign that says drive thru open only. They are not taking any cards and only accepting cash. They did not have any donuts that I wanted only premade glaze donuts. I really needed to go to the bathroom and stopped specifically to go in to use the restroom. This is extremely frustrating for the customers to not be able to come in and use the restroom at an establishment that they are buying food and would also like to wash their hands before they eat. Please don't use the typical "it's due to covid" not one of the workers in there were wearing a mask or even wearing gloves on their hands. Went through the Hoover Krispy Kreme drive-thru today for a birthday redemption of 3 Glazed Donuts as well as to try their new Biscoff Butter Glazed Donut! They have changed the birthday redemption from the previous years as it used to be something like an iced coffee and any donut for free. I will say I think I like this new redemption more! The Biscoff Butter Glazed was also very delicious, only thing of note is that the texture of the glaze sticks to the roof of your mouth a tad similar to the way that peanut butter does but not as badly. My mom went here today to get their Easter mini assortment. The host, Morgan, explained that they are sold in 16counts and you get 4 of EACH flavor. So naturally, she went to the back to get the assortment and brought them back already packaged. My mom got home with them and as soon as she opened it realized it wasn't an assortment at all..... 12 cake batter and 4 chocolate. Not a single strawberry or kreme filled. What?! They're charging $18 for 16 mini doughnuts and you aren't even getting the assortment that KK is advertising. They should have at least let her know she was getting 12 cake batter because conveniently no one in our house likes cake batter. July 6, 2024 Today being National Chocolate Day, I went to the Krispy Kreme doughnut shop in Hoover Alabama to get their original chocolate covered glazed donuts. Steve was the person I spoke to and helped me with my order. When I asked if they had any of these donuts and they're empty shells, Steve went out of his way to find those for me since they were not in the front case. I ask him to save the remaining ones that were on the tray for my daughter, who was coming in behind me. He did so, and with a smile on his face when she walked in the door, he knew those were for her and made her day.
