Definitely a hidden gem! Similar to the popular western cafe but much more space! Better in my opinion. The food was absolutely delicious--fresh and full of flavor. The wait was a bit long, but we weren't in a rush and it was well worth it. I had the sweet bread cinnamon roll and it's the best I've had in the area next close is main street over easy. We had the steak and eggs they were cooked to perfection and the biscuits and gravy were buttery and delicious. The pancakes were large and fluffy. Everything was perfect. Had breakfast at this restaurant this morning. Country Fried steak was probably the worst I have ever had. The white gravy over the steak was obviously made with water and NOT milk. It was weak and tasteless. My friend had bacon, eggs and a pancake. She ate about a quarter of the pancake and set it aside. Too rubbery she said...and she knows a good pancake when she eats it. We had a large group, probably 16-18 of us for a work appreciation breakfast. Despite having so many our waitress was great! She was attentive and when taking our orders she did them in groups of about 4-5 people then would wait about 5 or so to come get the next group. On vacation, driving through town, I ate a late lunch and missed the lunch crowd. A sign on the door indicates there will be a wait due to being understaffed. Yet our male waiter (Chris?) was super attentive and quicker than we expected, being the only waiter on duty at the time. The broiled chicken was AMAZING. We read several reviews about slow service. We decided to try the place anyway and see for ourselves. We entered the place (about 1:30pm) past the lunch crowd. We fo seated and without much delay someone came over and asked ok our drinks order. We then ordered food which also came out in a normal amount of time. So what's your he p Olen with this place? I ordered a cheesesteak sandwich. When it came there was only meat between the buns. I mentioned it to my wife. She pulled the sandwich apart to find some cheese. She claims to have found some cheese but I didn't see it. The meat was also very dry. In short it was not a good sandwich. My wife ice ordered a burger. She states that the best she can rate it is at the bottom of OK level. Staff seemed short and barely wanted to engage. Looking at the reviews and combining it with my experience. The broiled chicken was fantastic. Crisp on the outside, juicy on the inside. The jarred gravy and mashed potatoes didn't stand out, but it really felt like a classic restaurant side. We have eaten here several times; it's always busy and most of the customers are obviously locals. Service is always great. Definitely a local favorite! We stopped in for breakfast on our way from Yellowstone to Bozeman. Our waitress was incredibly kind and once we told her that today was our anniversary, she insisted on taking this photo for us. They have hearty breakfast items, eggs and bacon, biscuits, omelets, etc. My husband got the chicken fried steak and eggs and said it was the best he's ever had. I got the biscuits and home cooked sausage gravy and it was so flavorful! I try to avoid chain restaurants while traveling and this is a must try! Quick note - like everywhere else in Montana (and most of the US), the service industry is incredibly short staffed. They have a sign that reads, "We are short staffed. If you're in a hurry, please go somewhere else." Heads up... be patient, or as the sign mentions, I'd go elsewhere. If you have the time, it's worth it read more

Absolutely worst service I've ever experienced. We were told to seat ourselves, so we did. Slid all the dirty dishes on the table to the end of the table ourselves. Wiped the table off ourself. We were never greeted, so after about 15 minutes my husband walked over to the coffee pot and got me a cup of coffee. Then we waited another 10 minutes, all we got was an older server with glasses and her hair up in a clip who walked past our table, pointed at me and my cup of coffee and scolded me like I was a child barking, "That is unacceptable!!!". I rarely write bad reviews but this exception is warranted. We came in and were seated. We waited 15 minutes and no one came to the table. Finally, a sour-faced waitress (server) took drink orders and never returned. She gave the impression she was doing us a favor. There was also an older lady cleaning tables, etc. but, unlike the callous server, she was working, pleasant, and seemed to care about what she was doing. After 25-30 minutes, we got up and left. The server I'm referring to had a rag and cleaned some counters, chatted with some people she obviously knew, but didn't have time, or desire, to wait her tables. Bad impression and no reflection on the food, but customers are their livelihood and deserve at least some attention. We went across the street to Mama Mac's and were more than satisfied. Love this place! It's just a couple minutes from my home, and one of our fav places to eat. Breakfast for 2 is cheap and delicious. A good greasy spoon diner with consistency. Dinners are also good and something we do from time to time. Service is slow right now due to short staffing, but we are understanding and will continue to support them! THOROUGHLY enjoyed a halibut sandwich and get this - tater tots (apparently they call them gems in this part of the country, which I love)! So much yum. Super crispy fish, the right amount of lettuce, tangy tarter sauce...it was delicious. My sister had a battered and fried pork sandwich that was new to us, but I liked what I tasted of it. We had so much fun here because it was our first stop in Montana (it was actually my first trip to this part of the country in general). The waitress didn't skip a beat when my sister asked if they serve sweet tea, she said yes, of course. Ate breakfast at the Kountry Korner Cafe. I was perplexed that they changed the Cs to Ks in their name, yet they didn't bother to change "Cafe." But I digress... The pancakes were large, but didn't pass the "pancake test." When you use a knife to cut the pancake, it should slice nicely -- these cakes snagged as I cut them, indicating a rubbery texture. This was confirmed when I took a bite. As the warm temp of the cake decreased, sadly, the rubbery texture increased. Another red flag was the syrup and ketchup. The label was removed from the syrup bottle and it was filled to the tip-top, indicating that it had been "married" with the dregs from another container. They didn't even try to disguise this process with ketchup. Oh, and nice touch with the mismatched yellow lid -- obviously from a mustard container. The service was adequate, yet a "thank you for coming" would have been a plus. read more

Great food! I ordered the breakfast sandwich, and was not disappointed! Perfectly cooked bacon! My English muffin was not under toasted nor was it charred. While American cheese is not my favorite, there wasn't too much of it. My husband ordered the Taco Omelette and his peppers looked fresh. The salsa they used smelled delicious so I ended up trying some on my sandwich. His meal came with French fries so I had some of his and they were not oily and soggy, but the perfect mix of crunchy-softness (or would it be: "soft-crunchiness"?).
