Excellent place for a great and filling breakfast in Kauai. Excellent Loco Moco and the Sweet Bread French toast is amazing. Service is good. Recommend getting on the waitlist and then head over. Se added our names before leaving Princeville, 30 minutes later...we arrived and still #4 on the waitlist. Eclectic little place, unassuming on the side of the road. Can't miss the bright orange lettering...lol. Worth the wait. More food than you can shake a stick at. read more

It was a bit of a wait to get in, but we were a party of 8, so understandable. Our server was fantastic - she had a great sense of humour and said we were a fun group to serve. For context, we were one of her last tables of the day - they close at 1pm and it was well past noon when we were seated. Food was excellent all around and we had a great time. I don't know why I only gave Kountry Style Kitchen four stars in my first review. We make sure we eat here every year when we come to Kauai. This year we will eat breakfast there twice! The Hawaiian French toast with carmelized pineapple is fantastic. Also please use the coconut syrup that comes with; the combination is other-worldly! I also highly recommend a hot Mac nut latte - super smooth and flavorful. The Mac nut pancakes are also great. read more

My husband and I came here for breakfast and we liked it so much we came back a second time! I'm an ube lover and had to get their French toast. REALLY good, not slathered in sauce, perfect amount of balance with ube sauce and it was even topped with coconut flakes! My husband ordered a coconut latte and it was so good we ordered it the second time we came back. Hashbrowns were CRISPY and cooked to perfection. Our waitress was so nice and attentive. Our breakfast was very good. They use Yelp to manage the wait list, with an iPad outside the door to join the list when you get there. We were at the peak time after church Sunday morning and our wait was about 25 minutes. Once we were seated there was absolutely zero pressure to rush with our order. We sat in a well lit area with plenty of room for the two of us. Coffee and water came quickly and our food service was getting prompt. We had Avocado Eggs Benedict, and a two egg breakfast. Both meals had ample portions and good plate presentation. The food was hot and fresh. During our meal our server stopped by often to see how everything was as well as to refill our beverages. Very reasonable breakfast and lunch spot in Kapa'a. You will need to wait but the line moves fast because this location is bigger than most places in the area so there is lots of seating. Great overview of breakfast items and it was nice to see they had shredded hash browns on the menu. It gave diner vibes from back home and it was a good spot to grab breakfast on our last day. We had been to this place 2 years ago and it was the best experience for a Hawaiian breakfast we ever had. It was expensive but the food was well worth the price. My pineapple French toast with coconut syrup was simply amazing. The caramelized pineapple slices burrowed into the rich Hawaiian bread slices made my mouth water. Truly a reason to recommend to everyone who would come to visit Kauai. Fast-forward to today: Service was very muted. Every little request was either not allowed or priced excessively high (like $2 for a small container for syrup‍). Food was not even close to our original visit. The same pineapple French toast was simply 2 slices of Hawaiian bread with some warm pineapple slices on the side. The rest of our meal was just ok. Nothing like last time. My daughter had the best item: the special Ube pancakes with sweet potato drizzle and coconut syrup was delicious. But the price was much higher than anticipated and all other food items were too high for the quality to compare with last visit. Ambiance was nice as last time and had a very familiar aesthetic. Wish we could recommend but not this time. Hope to have a better experience next time as we visit often. read more

As a regular to Kountry Kitchen, I'm rather disappointed in some of these reviewers. This is one of the best breakfast spots I know. Not just on Kauai. Consistently great happy service, fantastic food, creative specials and an online waitlist that makes getting seated FASTER! Before I leave my house I log in and get in line so by the time I arrive, I'm usually taken right in. Highly recommend this feature. I love Kountry Kitchen and its funky island vibe. I think all the pictures on the walls are for sale and make fantastic mementos to put in your home kitchen as a reminder of your time on this beautiful island. read more
