If you're looking for a brunch spot with huge portions and incredible food, this is it! The French toast was hands down some of the best we've ever had. We ordered a half order, and it was so massive that four people could easily share it. I'm so glad we didn't order the full! We also got the breakfast burrito, and it was another giant portion that was enough for all four of us to enjoy. Everything we ordered was delicious. The real chef's kiss, though, was the homemade pineapple hot sauce. It was unbelievably flavorful with the perfect balance of sweet and heat. I'm actually disappointed I didn't try the verde and extra hot versions too! To top it all off, the service was incredibly fast, especially considering how busy they were. Great food, generous portions, and excellent service--this place is an easy 10/10 and definitely worth a visit.
One of the best pulled pork burritos I have tried! It was most and flavorful. It had pork, eggs, tater tots , cheese, and grilled onions. I also enjoyed the garlic shrimp. The Mac salad had too much mayo for my liking. The churro French toast was tasty. It was crispy on the outside and soft/bread-like on the inside. The cream that it came with seemed like whipped cream. The chicken katsu was just ok. I should have asked for sauce on the side. There was no line to order, but it took about 30 minutes to get our food. There is a parking lot, but it's busy... even on this rainy day! I wish we had found this place sooner!
Stopped by Wake Up Delicious during our Kauaʻi getaway, and it completely lives up to its name! I decided to try the Churro French Toast, and oh my goodness, it was incredible! It has that perfect crisp on the outside coated in cinnamon sugar, just like a real churro, while staying soft and fluffy on the inside. The servings here are huge! I ordered a half order, which came with 2 thick pieces, and it was honestly more than enough to share between myself and my husband. If you're on the North Shore, don't skip out on this spot!
Came to Kauai on a day trip mainly to try out their breakfast food. PROS Portions are enormous, so I feel like the price tag isn't too bad. Definitely consider sharing their entrees with another person. We ordered the Churro French Toast and Breakfast Burrito and they were both delicious, but way too big of a portion for one person. Neither of us could finish our food. CONS Barely any seating area inside. There are a few outdoor tables to sit at in the parking lot, but they fill up pretty quickly. We found more success going across the street inside Ching Young Village (the shopping center nearby). This place gets busy, so be prepared to wait. Parking is limited in the actual building and most of them were on a bit of an incline, but Ching Young Village also had several open stalls. While it was delicious, I wish the Churro French Toast tasted more like french toast and less like malasadas. We got the full portion and it was basically like eating 4 malasadas and two scoops of whipped cream cheese frosting. A little too indulgent for a breakfast for our tastes. TIPS Arrive early. We got here at 8:30am on a Saturday and still had to wait over half an hour for our food. Order from the mobile kiosk since it's a shorter line and plan to share with others in your party. Parking and indoor seating is limited, so I recommend ordering your food and then driving across the street to Ching Young Village to eat in one of their outdoor tables.
During my short 3 day Kauai staycation, I really was excited for our adventures and must add this business to my list. We really did "Wake Up Delicious" here, wake up eating delicious foods! hehe. As I did an Instagram search Wake Up Delicious, had many reels and of course I must add this to my list to try for our day's adventures. Although the breakfast item looked great I had two items on my mind to try, the shrimp and the famous churro french toast. Very fun spot to visit, this brick and mortar is no longer a food truck but they have a spot now, I loved the vibe! Limited seats for dine in and parking, but patience should do it. Why Fun?- while waiting for my order, I was looking at all the trinket items for sale, the stickers, magnets and cards was fun to look at and made me just crack up, too funny! I got the garlic shrimp plate ( $22.50) comes with rice and choice of sides and the churro french toast, available in 2 or 4. I went with the 2 for $14. * Place your order at the front and wait for your beeper for your food, there's self serve utensils, condiments and water jug available. The verdict: Wow, omg- The butter garlic shrimp comes with 6 huge pieces of shrimp with heads on, super tasty, fresh. It was work with the head on but yum, super tasty! I wish I had some bread to soak up that sauce! The mac salad was tasty but the kim chee was on the fermented side which I don't like. The grand fnale, the famous churro french toast was super good, I would say it was more like a huge malasada, tasted like malasada, loved the crispy edges and the sauce that came with it. Staff were super friendly and wait for food wasn't too long. All in all- Wake Up Delicious gets my 5 stars & look forward to coming back here on our next visit to the Garden Isle. Not a hype!
Serious amazing food! We went to wake up delicious to try their chicken katsu and the last order was sold out to the person in line right before us. We were bummed but decided to come back earlier the next day . We came back at 11:00 am the next day and they were still sold out, we were bummed but instead ordered garlic shrimp, coconut shrimp, and a Kahlua pork burrito. Everything was truly delicious. The coconut shrimp was crispy and the sauce was flavorful, the burrito was huge and packed with filling, and the garlic shrimp was out of this world. The only thing I would say is that I wish the garlic shrimp didn't come with heads on. It does present well but it's a messy pain in the butt to twist them off and then still have to pull the shells off the shrimp. The sauce is phenomenal , dip your rice in it!
The restaurant has quite a bit of seating but was still a full house when we went. I tried the garlic shrimp. It ws sooo good. Very generous portion of sauce and goes so good with the rice.
Worth all of the hype - nothing on their menu will disappoint. I don't anticipate ever being able to top that churro French toast in my lifetime for breakfast, it is incredible if you've got a sweet tooth. Indoor seating is limited but their counter service is quick so you can grab and go to a nearby picnic table if there are no seats inside.

This place is so yummy we came back the next morning for more!! I can't believe this was my third time on the island and I'm just now finding this place! It's AMAZING!!! The French toast is out of this world. It's a donut-like bread friend and covered in crunchy cinnamon sugar deliciousness, then topped with fresh caramel whipped cream. Have I died and gone to diabetes heaven??? It's a must-try when on the island.

I have the churro french toast and it was bomb and the burritos are so good you can probably share every with another person because i feel it was big portions. We were soooo hungry after hiking and stumbled upon Wake Up Delicious and thank goodness we did! The food here is excellence with friendly service and pretty views/people watching from the deck. It's a great place to grab food and take to the beach too. I will definitely visit again, Mahalo!
It was so good the first time I had to go back before my trip ended. Super good food and nice staff. There are very few seats for eating but it is a cute restaurant with stickers, hats and other souvenirs This is a must try.

Wow! So sad we waited so long to try this place during our stay in Hanalei. Let's just rate it already. 10/10. Absolutely amazing. Good was some of the best I've ever had. The Churro French Toast is life changing. Full order can easily feed 3-4 people. Crispy, sweet, yet soft and tasty inside. Best description is a combination of a churro, mixed with a cinnamon roll, mixed with a donut. Would highly recommend. They offer a half portion too which is great for 2 people to share. The breakfast burritos are legit. Massive, tasty, delicious, and filling. About the same size and width as a 32oz Yeti bottle. Ordered the veggie burrito with bacon and the Smoked Pork burrito. Loved both. Tots, veggies, cheese, meat, all loaded. Even the salsas were 10/10. Seating is limited, maybe enough for 8-10 people total to sit inside, but they take to go orders and you can walk 5 minutes to Hanalei beach and eat by the ocean. TLDR - Try it, you won't be disappointed. read more

Absolutely delicious and such a beautiful experience! We had the Garlic Shrimp and the Churros French Toast, and both were incredible! Let me tell you the garlic shrimp was amazing! The shrimp was cooked to perfection: juicy, tender, and coated in the most delicious garlic sauce. Every bite was so flavorful! The Churros French Toast was actually one of the reasons we came here because it's so popular, and it absolutely did not disappoint! It looks like it would be super sweet, but surprisingly, it's not. It's perfectly crunchy on the outside, moist in the middle, and just the right amount of sweetness. So delicious! And to top it all off, you get to enjoy this fantastic food with a beautiful Kauai view. Overall, such a wonderful experience. If you're visiting Kauai, I highly recommend putting Wake Up Delicious on your list you won't be disappointed! read more
I saw a TikTok about the churro french toast from wake up delicious and knew I needed to try it when I was visiting Kauai. There's a small lot in the back, and we were able to find a stall. There's some seating inside, but there were no open seats. There were also tables outside which were available. There was a line to order food, but there were kiosks outside with no line. My friend and I shared the Kalua pork burrito and half size churro French toast. This was more than enough food for us. The Kalua pork burrito was massive. I think I would have liked it more if I could have added more ketchup to it, but they were nearly out of ketchup at the condiment station. The churro french toast lived up to the hype. The bread was light with the perfect amount of crunch on the outside. There was also a good amount of cinnamon sugar, but the best part was definitely the whipped cream. It was definitely on the sweet side, so I definitely recommend ordering something savory with it. I am so glad I got to try this place and will be a must visit on my future trips to Kauai. read more

We split the kalula burrito and the two piece churro, absolutely delicious! The pork was juicy, the tater tot's added some fluffiness and the crunch from the churro was out of this world. The girl up front was so accommodating and had great recs. Fantastic spot with a great view of the mountains. read more
Stumbled into this place because we saw it had a long line so we figured it must be good. And we were right. I got the katsu plate and the katsu was so crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. It paired perfectly with the seaweed salad and rice. They were also very generous with the serving of katsu. The other unbeatable part about this place is the view you get if you eat on their patio. We just got to stare at the mountains and you can even see the waterfalls on those mountains. 10/10 dining experience, just beware of the chickens that will try to go at your food, haha. read more

Found a hidden gem in Hanalei Bay this morning - in the middle of a hurricane. Staff were nice and friendly. I had the big breakfast with two sunny side eggs and rice with side of spam and Portuguese sausages - so delicious and big enough for two breakfasts Also had homemade mango and pineapple juice and it was refreshing. Not much seats to eat there on this rainy day but it was cozy and warm. A new breakfast place for me in Kauai. read more

We stopped in for lunch right before closing and it was so quick to get our food! We LOVED everything we got. We got the sweet and spicy pineapple chicken with macaroni salad and coconut shrimp with kimchi. Everything was amazing and serving size is huge for the price! Inside you can sit at the bar overlooking the street which is perfect for people watching. I think the favorite of the two was surprisingly the pineapple chicken!!! read more
DEC2025 Second visit to the area for us, had to bring friends to try it since we were around. Great for breakfast tho the weather wasn't the greatest at the time. Seating can be pretty limited tho it looks like they changed it a bit to fit more people outside. We were lucky to catch it as the line piled up behind us. Service helped with any questions we had. My partner and I got burritos, mine veggie hers kalua pork, along with a half order of the churro toast, coffee, and POG juice. Everything was cooked well. The burritos were still solid, everything well balanced as far as the ingredients. I wanted a bit more veggies but that's just personal preference. The churro toast was nice. It wasn't overly sweet which was surpising and it had a really nice crunch to it. Compatriots had ordered a kalua burrito and a plate to share and really enjoyed the meal. We had breakfast at Wake Up Delicious and everything truly lived up to the name! Every bite was so good, but the churro French toast was the star of the table -- perfectly crunchy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, and big enough to share. It had the perfect balance of sweetness and texture. On top of the amazing food, the views made the whole experience even better. There's just something about enjoying a delicious breakfast with a beautiful view that makes it that much more special. read more

Girlfriend and I went out to the town to explore and it was decided we'd try this place out. This is a pretty small eatery that sells a variety of different trinkets. There isn't a lot of seating available, but we were lucky enough to find a spot. It's pretty cute and it was nice to browse while waiting for food. Staff was very friendly and I didn't feel rushed when placing my order. Got two different main dishes, Garlic Shrimp and Chicken Katsu. My girlfriend got her Garlic Shrimp with a scoop of rice and a side of seaweed salad. The portion of shrimp you get is very generous! The lemon garlic butter sauce really came through and was a perfect pairing for the shrimp. Flavors were nice and balanced. While the shrimp was delicious, she wasn't a fan of the seaweed salad, it didn't seem like it was fresh. My Chicken Katsu was delicious and its the best piece of katsu I've tried so far! It was crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. My only critique would be to serve the sauce on the side so the bottom of the katsu doesn't get soggy and one gets to enjoy that perfect crispness for longer. I got my katsu with a scoop of rice and kimchee. Both my sides were just okay. I would definitely come back to have both dishes again and perhaps try something new. My husband and I stopped by this place on a whim and boy are we glad we did!! When we walked in, we were greeted by multiple kind faces who immediately made us feel at home. We asked for recommendations and they said to share the Kalua burrito and a half order of the churro French toast. This is hands down the best breakfast burrito I've ever had and I wish I could give it 100 stars. They have three different salsas that they have made specifically for the burrito. We tried the pineapple one and it was amazing. It really elevated the flavors in the burrito. It was awesome to try such a curated salsa experience. The churro french toast was INCREDIBLE. I can't believe this is only a half order based on the amount of food we got. It was huge. The whipped cream is made in house and they do it well. The texture was amazing and it had the perfect sweetness. The churro bread was so delicious. They have coffee as well as a fridge with canned drinks. They had canned Diet Coke!! I was so happy to have a crisp drink with my breakfast. They have seating out front and the views were incredible. We originally planned to take it to go but the views made us stay and eat it. They also had a bunch of tables with stickers and handmade goodies. I could not recommend this place enough!!! read more
Checked out this place in Hanalei. Small eatery in a beach town, wooden plantation style structure. No AC. There was 1 table inside and had seating outside in the front but the sun was beating down, there is also counter seating at the back entrance and there were a few tables in the back towards the sidewalk. We sat at the counter seating and luckily there was a nice breeze that came through the small corridor that lead to the street. There is a small parking lot in the back that is shared with the other businesses. We were greeted warmly, there were baked goods like Baklava, cookies and a chiller with different Chia puddings and desserts. My Hubby ordered the Chicken Sausage, eggs and rice breakfast. Hubby said he wished the sausage was browned more, but it's your basic breakfast. I ordered the Garlic Shrimp Plate, which was ok, the garlic butter sauce was tasty, its peel and eat with the heads on, so you have to work to get your shrimp. All in all it was ok. Not sure if I would go back. read more
Wake Up Delicious was honestly one of the best food stops I had in Hawaii. I got the garlic shrimp plate, and it ended up being my favorite meal across both Kauai and Oahu. The shrimp were buttery, garlicky, and seasoned just right. The rice soaked up the juices without being soggy, which made every bite hit even better. I also tried the chai macadamia and it was really refreshing. We took the food up to Hā'ena Beach, about an 18-minute drive, and the shrimp were still hot and fresh when we got there. That says a lot about how well they prepare it. The place has a chill, local feel and the portions were solid. Definitely worth the stop if you're in Kauai. Very limited seating. Food is good. Huge portions. We honestly could have shared something. We gave a ride to 3 local boys and they said WAKE UP DELICIOUS is their favorite place to eat. They particularly love the Katsu chicken. So that's what I got. It was delicious!!! But so big I couldn't eat it all. We also got the Ryboo and while it was delicious I think they went a little too heavy on the cream cheese. Can't wait to come back and try the burrito! This place went above and beyond! I was expecting just a regular garlic shrimp lunch plate but wow best garlic shrimp I've ever had. Me and my husband liked it better than Giovanni and all other in Hawaii. Shrimp came with head on with great amount of garlic juice. You have a choice of side salad from macaroni, kimchee or seaweed. Service wasn't great but all they do is take order and hand out food when it's ready. They don't really clean dine in tables so it's more like self service. We cleaned table our own. We will come back again :) read more

That Churro French Toast is something else. Drove up just to try it, had to wait 35 minutes, but it was worth it!! Also had their Kalua Pork Burrito - wasn't anything new to me, but portion size was great for the price. read more

Shrimp was amazing. French toast was good but really huge and too sweet for me - I think a half order would have been perfect. Service wasn't bad. Only issue is they wanted to charge for even courtesy water! Location is nice and had a great view. read more

While visiting Hanalei, we were curious about the food options available in the area, and Wake Up Delicious looked to be highly rated, so we wanted to stop by and see what was up. We have visited this restaurant twice during our stay in Princeville, once on a Friday and one on a Monday. We missed the breakfast menu on Friday as we went in the afternoon (do note that there are two menus, and I think the lunch menu starts at 12PM. The parking lot for the restaurant is a bit small, I think it's like 8-9 spots for all of the shops that Wake Up Delicious shares with - these spots could be taken during breakfast and lunch rushes. Luckily, you can find more parking spots street side or right across the street from the lot. There is more parking but do note that all of the spots fill up rather quickly. There were lines during both visits, but the line moves pretty fast, I think we only had at most 10-12 minute wait times to get to the front to order. As other reviewers have mentioned, seating is very limited - there probably are 16 seats spread across 4 small tables and counter tops inside the restaurant, with 4 countertop seats just outside the restaurant next to the neighboring sandwich shop. It can get quite hot inside as there are lots of people and the kitchen cooking orders. We got a couple of items, which I'll review down below: Garlic Shrimp ($22) - I wanted to try the Garlic shrimp entree as many other reviewers have mentioned this item. The sauce is savory and has a delicious garlic flavor - they do give you a lot of sauce, and it goes a long way. The shrimps taste fresh and have a nice meaty and chewy texture and you get 6 of them. I think that there was slight confusion at the ordering counter as we wanted kimchi on the side, but they replaced our rice with kimchi, which was unfortunate. Churro Waffles Half Portion ($14.50) - Super crispy waffles with smothered with churro seasoning with a mount of fresh whip cream with a caramel drizzle in the middle - what's not to love about that? If you a sweet tooth, you definitely will have a great time with this entree. The hot waffle and the refreshing cold cream pair great with each other. The waffle has that nice thin crispy exterior with a soft chewy waffle interior. The flavors encapsulate the feeling of eating a wider churro perfectly. More reasonably priced as even the half portion is generous. I think this was one of the more unique items on the menu that I would come back to Wake Up Delicious for if I'm back in Hanalei. Kalua Pork Burrito ($20) - A pretty tasty burrito that is super indulgent! This burrito is filled with egg, strands of kalua pork, and crispy hash browns in the middle. The scrambled eggs and kaula pork were very hearty and it contrasts very nicely with the crispy hash browns in the middle. There is also a generous amount of cheese that glues all of the contents together. The burrito comes out whole, I sliced it in half so the cross section could be seen. As tasty as this burrito is, I think that $20 for a burrito definitely leans expensive. For Princeville, I think that the food at Wake Up Delicious is solid - generous portions that are more meant for sharing. I think that most items on the menu are pricey, but I think that is just the Princeville effect as almost every restaurant that I have seen in the downtown mall area has everything almost $5-10 over what I would expect something to cost. I think that most things on the menu here taste good, and I would skip the chocolate chip cookie. If you are in the Hanalei area, I think that Wake Up Delicious would be a decent pick. read more

On our first day in Kauai, we knew we wanted garlic shrimp. A quick Yelp search led us to Wake Up Delicious in Hanalei. We had hoped to try it for dinner, but they were already closed, so we made plans to come back the next morning for breakfast. We parked in the lot across the street and walked over--no line when we arrived, which was a nice surprise. Miori ordered the garlic shrimp plate with an extra side of mac, while I went with the Hammy Sammy and a dragonfruit lemonade. We grabbed seats on the patio with a beautiful view of the mountains, and it made the wait feel like part of the experience. The food here is cooked fresh to order, so it took a little time, but that gave us the chance to just relax and enjoy the scenery. When the food came out, it was absolutely delicious and worth the wait. I enjoyed it so much I even picked up some merchandise before leaving (a trucker hat) as a souvenir. Highlights: - Garlic shrimp plate is a must-try - Beautiful mountain views from the patio - Cooked fresh to order, so plan to sit and enjoy - Friendly, casual atmosphere - Fun merch available--grabbed a hat to remember the visit. Hi, does anyone know if they'll be open this week? I've been trying to eat here since last week but it keeps saying "closed-special hours" and they don't answer the phone. We leave the island soon and this place looks like an absolute must try. 🤤
Chef is on vacation. Open again Tuesday 8/13. There is a sign posted in the front window of the truck.
