Booked a reservation here for 7pm. Would recommend booking a reservation for inside so you can hear the live music. This restaurant was a fun tiki vibe with ~very~ strong mai tais. The coconut shrimp is excellent (I love coconut shrimp and this was my favorite I had in Hawaii). The appetizer portion is pretty large and could suffice for a small dinner for one. I also had the macnut crusted Ono which was also very good. The vibes and good music took Tahiti Nui over the top and made it a memorable part of our trip.
Came here last night for dinner around 7pm.check in was easy, we waited do maybe 15 min. Once we got seated it wasn't long After that we got to put in our orders. Our male server was very polite and we didn't feel rushed considering it was pretty busy. Ordered the coconut shrimp, mai tai and the zesty coconut crusted catch . First the coconut shrimp hit the spot and the sauce that it came with was delicious mix of flavors . I can't pinpoint what kind of aioli it is but it was good nonetheless. The Mai tai was pretty strong . Was just perfect to end the night! The sweet potato mash was a good twist from a regular mashed potato. The fish was a little dry but the flavor was still there and the sauce made up for it. They had a live band which was a nice addition to the ambiance. I was singing along while waiting for our food! Overall I could recommend this place and will be bask for sure

She knows the menu and suggests great pairings. We would welcome having her serve us again. We chose Zesty Coconut Crusted catch which the fish of the day was Nui Swordfish which is not to be confused with the Marlin. It was served with mashed purple sweet potato and a side of fresh green beans. Delicious! My husband got the Macadamia Crusted Chicken and Sara suggested the garlic mashed potatoes instead of rice which was spot on for my husband. I also had the Mai Tai. Our meal was quick - hot & delicious. So glad we chose here for our dinner.

ORDER THE COCONUT SHRIMP. If you come here and don't order the coconut shrimp, my heart breaks for you. I get it with extra lilikoi sauce on the side. I dream of this shrimp. The Huli Huli Chicken Pizza (Basically a BBQ chicken pizza, is my other favorite. I really stick to these items. I got the pulled pork sandwich once and it was just okay. But a very fun spot! They also have music and dancing :)
When you hail from the pizza capital of the world, the measuring stick for pizza is different. However Tahiti Nui is putting in the love with these pies, a one way ticket to flavortown. Not to mention the best, most fresh coconut shrimp I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. Service and vibes were top notch as well, the live music was a great tone setter. If you need to mix it up, highly advise giving the fine folks at tahiti nui a chance!
I am a little biased because one of my favorite movies was filmed here and I was so happy to see it in person. The movie in question is so The Descendants. The Mai Tai's were really good. We came here after a day at the beach and we had a big breakfast so we didn't order food. Our kids can always eat so they shared the burger. The burger was really good. If we had tried more food I would have a more educated opinion on the food. The service was excellent.

The coconut shrimp was so good and crispy - you can really taste the coconut flavor. The kalua pork sandwich was my favorite - it was sweet yet savory and tasted refreshing because of the veggies inside. I also tried the burger - it's definitely hefty but still delicious - I love the added crunch with the onion ring.
This place is THE ORIGINAL MAI TAI place. Don't get it twisted. There is no better Mai Tai in the world, which is proven literally statistically since this place always wins. We couldn't believe what a difference in having a Mai Tai here was like--unbelievable! I recommend going during happy hour since they are reduced in price (otherwise it is pretty expensive). We also tried so many of the tasty plates, but the ahi carpaccio was epic. This has to be a must if you are in Kauai. It is worth flying out from the mainland, grabbing a mai tai, and flying back--it is THAT good.

The pizza is very good and just the right size for one, or to share with a salad (the kale Caesar was good!). They're "famous" for their Mai Tai, and it's fairly sweet but with a generous pour.

We got here around 2:45 and stood in line waiting. The people in front of us and behind us left which worked out well for us! We got a table and ordered drinks. They had happy hour 3-5 with the mai tai, house marg, wine and beer on the menu for a slight discount. My friends margarita tasted like they forgot the tequila entirely but she didn't say anything. My mai tai was fine. The other group member got a longboard draft and a pele (passion) margarita. The margarita wasn't bad. One person got the kao kao pizza it was good and took leftovers I got Hawaiian add pepperoni and I ate the whole thing. The crust was good, a little thin so had to scrunch the end to avoid losing the toppings but taste was good! One got the gluten free cauliflower crust and went with the Margherita pizza and enjoyed it The last got the market special catch which was in the marlin family. The fish was good but the sauce didn't go at all and tasted bitter. The ube mash was underwhelming. We shared the oh so ono appetizer and it was the best ono we've had on the trip. We also shared two gluten free lilikoi cheesecake slices and they were plate licking good! We sat outside and it was the typical outdoor Hawaiian environment with the chickens and a pretty view of the mountains and trees and the shelter protected us from the brief rain. Inside was more bar like. Bathrooms weren't terrible but also not great. Typical I guess. The area is beautiful and one of the prettier parts of Kauai. We went to the Anini beach first and it was not too far from there to grab some linner.
Fabulous food, drinks, and service Tiki man pizza is a must. A huge assortment of toppings and a very hearty and delicious pizza. Would come back here for the pizza alone. We ordered a Hawaiian pizza, which was actually pretty fun since it was my first "Hawaiian pizza" while being in Hawaii. We added jalapeños and sausage to it, which gave it a nice extra kick and made it more flavorful. The pizza itself was decent, good crust, good toppings, and it hit the spot, but overall it felt fairly standard rather than anything standout or unique. Great spot with an awesome atmosphere and really good cocktails! We stumbled in here completely by accident and somehow ended up in what felt like the busiest place in Hanalei, great live musicians, people dancing, and legitimately tasty cocktails and beer. Service was just amazing! The only downside is the price. We ordered a couple of cocktails, one beer, and a small pizza, and the bill was close to $200, which felt a bit steep. The pizza itself wasn't anything special, but to be fair, this is a bar, not really a restaurant, so I can't complain too much. Overall though, super fun vibe and a great place for drinks and live music. Would definetely come back for the atmosphere alone. read more

Always a fun spot in Hanalei. Got there just as they opened and they filled the restaurant immediately. We thought this might take awhile but instead we had some of the quickest nicest service! Bailey our server was great and hope she has a great birthday! read more

My first time in Kauai and went to Tahiti Nui twice. The service was great! The ahi carpaccio was amazing! Also had a flatbread & dessert. It was all good! Second visit we sat at the bar and our bartender was so nice & friendly & our waiter the first night was too! Enjoyed the live music! read more

I love a catchy tiki bar, and this was no exception. The bartender and servers were really nice and service was pretty good for a busy day. The food was pretty awesome and I would definitely go back to try some other menu items. Had to try the famous mai tais, and they did not disappoint! Heavy on the rum and happiness in a glass. We ordered the Ahi carpaccio and the blue cheese pizza with bacon and onions (K. O. Keo). Both were absolutely delicious and definitely hit the spot. What I really loved about this place was the atmosphere. They had artwork by an Australian artist named Tania Wursig. They did not have any for sale in the restaurant, but I would have purchased her artwork if they had. It's absolutely perfect for a tiki bar, very Tahitian, very retro femme fatale. The bathrooms were clean, parking was relatively easy, and it is right on the main road on the way to Hanalei. You can't miss it, go check them out and have an amazing lunch. read more

The food was phenomenal! My girlfriend and I ordered the specials - the marlin with a nice macadia nut topping and a really flavorful sauce, and the ahi tuna steak in the wasabi (surprisingly very good!). The vegetables were cooked to perfection and the service from the waitress and the server was an A+ considering how packed the place was yesterday night. The ambiance was fantastic with live music and fantastic tiki artwork covering the walls. I really, really enjoyed the California nostalgia songs that they were playing from my childhood on a Friday night. Oh! And the Mai Thai was freaking perfect and super strong! We will be back if we are back on the island again most definitely. read more
This place was recommended to me by an Airbnb host. We walked in without a reservation so we had to wait for a table for ~30 min. They had live music and this place was very lively. Their drinks are STRONG. I had their maitai. I loved their coconut shrimp. If you love shrimp you must try this dish. Everything else was ok, I had their pizza with kalua pork which was just okay to me, and I had the oh so ono! Which was underwhelming. I think they could've seasoned it better and maybe a different dipping sauce. Did not love that one. The service was pretty slow and not the best. Our ice cream came out half melted. Wandered in and enjoyed the entire experience from a warm and friendly hostess to a waitress eager to share her thoughts on the menu and thus guiding us to a great experience. I went with the fresh fish of the day; a well prepared and nicely seasoned snapper in a slightly creamy, garlic and tomato sauce with capers served over a bed of mashed potatoes and it was truly delicious. We ate here on a food walking tour. I love these tours because you try things that you normally would not. Everyone on the tour said the same thing. Food was amazing and it was not what any of us would order. We had poke served carpaccio style with crispy toast. The capers and onions added great flavor to the poke. We all agreed it was delish. If I could eat one place for the rest of my life it would be Tahiti Nui. Stumbled across this place while vacationing in Kauai and decided to stop in when we saw happy hour was from 12-5. 12-5!!!!!! The atmosphere is perfection; casual, tropical, fun. I had my first Mai Tai here and now I'm ruined because no Mai Tai compares. Every single thing I ate was amazing, and made me come back multiple times on my trip. I love you Tahiti Nui!!! read more

5 stars for just a drink? Damn right. People hyped it up to be the best Mai Tai in the state of Hawaii and they were correct. Perfect blend of almondy citrus with a dynamite ambiance at night with live music and large outdoor patio area making for quite a lively atmosphere. Fairly pricey for my liking, especially since I paid almost $50 for a singular drink and Hawaiian Pizza - but like... a Hawaiian Pizza in Hawaii with the most decadent kalua pork you've ever tasted and fresh pineapple right off the stalk? Say less. Extremely welcoming staff who paid special attention to me being a solo traveler - and I would certainly come back here in a hearbeat irregardless of the panic it instilled in my wallet. read more

This place is incredible and a must try whenever you are in Hanalei! They claim to have the world's best Mai Tai and after coming back over the years I have to agree with them! It's strong, delicious and a perfect taste of paradise! Our waiter was super fun and helpful, he was constantly checking on us to make sure we were ok or if we needed anything. The location is huge as well, they have indoor and outdoor seating and can easily accommodate large groups. Sometimes the wait can be long but it's definitely worth it, and there's tons of shops and things to do if you have to wait. read more

Popped in here for dinner apparently towards the end of Happy. We don't drink, but I thought it was pretty funny when the waiter brought that up. I had already researched to make sure that this place did have Gluten-Free options, but I also asked again when we arrived and the hostess was very kind and letting us know that yes they do have gluten-free pizza option and buns. She sat us at a tall bar table for two not in the covered area near the road, but the elevated outside covered area of the actual building. It does have a bar inside as well as inside table seating. I did order a mocktail called the LAVA LEMONADE with Strawberry, Lemonade, Soda and it was pretty tasty and refreshing. I ordered the Nui Burger with $4 Gluten-Free Bun and 1/2 Ib Premium Beef Patty, Bacon, Cheddar, Gorgonzola, Sautéed Mushrooms, Sliced & Drizzled Kalbi Sauce, Lettuce, with Wasabi Aioli & Ponzu Sauce, Tomato, Onion, w/o Panko & Furikake Crusted Ono (wahoo) & the Fried Onion Ring. Substituted with Gluten filled seasoned French Fries with mashed purple sweet potato. I have yet to find a restaurant that has fries with their burgers that are not already preseasoned with gluten. So I have not had any french fries since I've been here. That's crazy sauce! Now I don't know if the Ponzu, Kalbi sauce & wasabi, aïoli or gluten-free or not because I'm not sure if it was on my burger nothing was spicy. And I didn't realize that when I ordered it. But when I tell you, that burger was super huge juicy and flavorful I am totally serious! Juice was running down my hand, my arm literally best burger yet. The burger was too much therefore I wasn't able to really get into the mashed potatoes but who eats sweet potatoes with a burger anyway but that's what I got. My husband said the pizza was delicious as well. He got the FULL HOUSE MEAT with Ham, Italian Sausage, Pepperoni & Kalua Pork for $24. Apparently today the "raising" process ( if that's what you call it ) for pizza dough there's a thing. Apparently that's significant because the waiter found it necessary to tell us that it had been raising over a two day period Maybe that's what added to the flavor. IDK but My husband definitely liked the crust. The restaurant definitely had a local homegrown been there for a while feeling and look not modern. Had intended on going back again to try the pizza myself and for him to try a regular burger without the gluten-free bun, but we never did make it back. But will definitely return on our next trip to Kauai. The flourless lava cake was fairly decent just a bit much. My husband finished all of his. I finished most of mine. One would've probably been enough for both of us, but then we had a pretty big meal. read more
