    Terrace salad - half serve
    Alison V.

What could be better than great food, with a great view overlooking the mountains - not much in my opinion! I loved the half serve of the terrace salad, as well as the sweet and spicy wings (they weren't that spicy at all). My husband enjoyed the fish and chips too. We only had to wait about 19 mins on a Friday night. We would definitely recommend visiting if you're in Hanalei for dinner.

Our server was really friendly and the ambiance is nice. The food was pretty good but I was a bit disappointed that my short rib was mostly fat. I don't mind a fat cap but this was way out of balance. My husband got the steak, he said it was ok, but overcooked. I would give it another try and keep my fingers crossed that the quality would match the price next time.

Food was delicious, service was fast, and the ambiance is lovely! Especially when it's pouring and you need a place to hide out from the rain! Had the poke nachos, the Brussels sprouts, the ahi burger, the lava cake, the poke bowl.... All phenomenal! Our waitress was wonderful!!! Highly recommend!

Quality delicious food and so many options, best happy hour in the area and the service is top notch! Shout out to our server Gage! We come here everytime we're on the island and will continue to do so!

The price and the food were excellent! You can't go wrong with the Terrace or Wagu Burger. The house Veggie Burger was ono (delicious)! We especially loved their fries and a delightful welcoming staff: Tyler. Another reason I loved their burgers was due to the engraved buns- wow! I just loved that personal touch!

Decided to do the puppy platters and we were not disappointed! Started with the Brussels sprouts- A+, then the furikaki fries- yummy salty crunchy, and the poke nachos. We were full and happy. Our server Sol was so sweet, she gave us recommendations based on what we were looking for, she was attentive and timely and even took the time to take our picture for us. She really had a wonderful demeanor and made our experience very pleasant.

Fun happy hour with fair prices on food and drinks. The drinks and food we ordered were delicious! Try the poke nachos, they are very good! The coconut shrimp was just okay. The crab cakes were good. Our service was okay. If you are not in a hurry go here, the views are fantastic!

This place was really nice it was perfect for a romantic dinner especially with open Mountain View. The wait wasn't long but we did come for early dinner. We got a fish dip which was really yummy and fresh. The chips were stale but they brought out wonton chip to replace them. The drinks were very good I love the ube drink. My husband enjoyed the margaritas.

Fantastic. When you visit Hawaii you start to get used to how expensive everything is. The worst is when you are already paying high Hawaii prices for a meal at a restaurant and the food and/or service is mediocre so you walk away feeling extra ripped off. NOT HERE! Probably because this isn't in a fancy resort area or with a view of the water. But it has a nice view of across the street to the mountains from the upstairs dining area. All the food was excellent, great portions and surprisingly reasonable prices! Burger was excellent. Best fish sandwich I've ever had in 10 trips to Hawaii, they cooked the fish medium rare and it was a very big piece. Note that it's open air with no A/C so can feel a bit steamy on a hot day. Wish it were easier to find more places like this throughout Hawaii.

Beautiful views and excellent food and cocktails. Our server was very good as well - super courteous, attentive without being overly so. We just popped in for snacks; the wings were so good we got a second order. The smoked fish dips was also very tasty. We had other dinner reservations that night but plan to head back for dinner. The menu looked really good and interesting.

We went a little after sunset so we didn't get to see the light but it was still very nice to be seated on the second floor with open air to see the sights of the mountain side. The workers were very sweet and frequently checking in on us! They gave us a rec too when we asked but too bad they ran out that day! Each bite of food was delicious!!

Came here for the first time with Kauaian north shore resident Joe K who said this has been here for a long time but changed ownership about a year ago...and he made sure to mention the change of hands was a great improvement. We just planned on a happy hour visit (230 - 500pm daily except wednesdays since they're closed) so ordered a couple of the happy hour margaritas, guava for me and mango for Joe along with a few things from the pupu menu. Joe's been here quite a few times so he insisted we get the Pok'e Nachos, this was really good. There was a good amount of pok'e that tasted fresh and sat atop fried wonton chips. Small cubes of avocado and some pickled red onion topped it all along with sriracha and wasabi aioli. Super tasty for sure and my favorite of the 3 pupus we ordered. Besides the Pok'e nachos we got the Teriyaki chicken skewers and deep fried Calamari. Both of these were good as well with the skewers edging out the calamari...the skewers had a heavy sear which gave both the chicken and the red bell peppers a nice charred hint. Mid-meal we refreshed our drinks with a Mai Tai for me ( they call it a Tai-Mai Bikini ) and Joe got a Lemon Drop. Once again both were really good. I liked that they used Koloa spiced rum as well as a Koloa dark rum float and the traditional orgeat in the Mai tai. Service was friendly and attentive and the server even recognized Joe and thanked him for dining here again. Hours are 11am to 9pm daily except Wednsdays.

Would come here again and again and again! Lovely atmosphere and service was great. The food is delicious. I had a poke bowl and my husband had the tuna sandwich. Everything was very fresh and flavorful. I loved the sauce on the poke bowl. Drinks were delicious as well and they had a fabulous drink menu so it was hard to decide what to order!

I almost canceled after seeing a few mixed reviews online, but I'm really glad we decided to go anyway. First off - you really come here for the atmosphere and the view. It is absolutely incredible! Sitting outdoors taking in the Kauaʻi landscape is top-tier. The menu itself is pretty limited. Here's what we tried: Papaya Salad: Really refreshing and tasty, though a bit steep on the price tag for what it is. Pork Belly Ramen: good but definitely not authentic-level ramen and at $30 (even with the added spicy miso sauce) it was just okay. I probably wouldn't order it again. Sesame/Ground Pork Soup (Hubs' order): He got a dish with ground pork and udon noodles in a sesame base broth, and that one was actually really delicious! Service was stellar! Our waiter, Keoni, was super attentive, friendly, and awesome overall. While the ramen prices are on the high side for what you get, the view, service, and ambiance made it a wonderful evening out on our trip!

Started meal with honeycomb with cheese, apples & crackers., cucumber salad, broccoli with burrata & bruschetta. All were very good. Bruschetta was slightly spicier than last time - extra Calabrian chile, I guess. We had two orders of broccoli - one without almonds due to food allergy. Charred just right w/ sauce & burrata. Great combo of flavors. Had the lentils, Kauai shrimp, papas ajo ( potatoes), filet with horseradish scalloped potatoes next. They were all great as usual. The filet was so tender you could easily cut it with a regular knife. And the scalloped potatoes were creamy with a taste of horseradish which I had never had before. We agreed it was excellent. I'd like to try to recreate at home. For dessert, we ordered 2 lilikoi cheesecakes & 1 lemon crumble ice cream. The cheesecake is particularly light & creamy - the favorite for 3 of us. Lemon curd ice cream is refreshing with pistachios on top. All in all we agreed Bar Acuda is our favorite restaurant in Kauai & a favorite, period, no matter where dining. The Brussel Sprouts & Cauliflower was excellent, golden raisins and pine nuts add sweetness and texture, balsamic vinegar counters with wonderful acid contrast. The Black Garlic & Yuzu Ahi Tartar is simply fabulous, one of the best bites I have ever had. I first had this dish two years ago when it was introduced as a new dish in a prefix meal. On that trip we returned to enjoy the dish once again. Had it again last year as I travel to Kauai each year. I'm happy to see it is still on the menu! Our third dish was the Vietnamese Style Sashimi and it was okay, although a bit underwhelming for Eating House standards. The front desk staff guided me to the elevator. This trip was for my birthday. In every reservation when asked about a special occasion, I put birthday. This was the first restaurant to acknowledge my special day. The check-in staff wished me well as did the server. We had been to several restaurants prior to Eating House that didn't say a word. Kudos to the staff for its kindness. The restaurant is open air and very comfortable. It has a rustic feel. We were seated by the window on a cool, rainy night but were perfectly dry the whole evening. On top of that, our server was very helpful in guiding us to order the right amount of food. He brought us a serving of edamame which is always on the house. The shrimp & pork potstickers were very good. I had the ramen which was tasty, filling and a great choice. Our server was terrific to put the spicy oil on the side which made it easier for me to eat. My husband had the butterfish which is the best I have ever tasted. It is a signature dish and always a pleaser. The only real downside is the limited menu. We were told that because of a staff shortage, it wasn't the typical menu. This was disappointing.
