Paid by card. Pho Kapaa is located in a small plaza and offers plaza parking. I went here with a party of 4 on a Saturday night for dinner and it was packed. We had to wait about 20 minutes to get seated. The staff was nice and it seemed like a lot of locals went here. My party and I ordered a chicken pho, a couple stir-fry dishes, and a bun with shrimp, pork, and egg roll. We ended up waiting an hour for our food, and even at that hour mark, the egg rolls that were supposed to come with the bun were not ready so I asked them to take it off the bill. The food was not worth waiting for. I wouldn't recommend this place because of the slow service and the food wasn't that good. read more

We came around 2:30 p.m. on a Sunday right after flying in and were looking for something warm and soupy. The space is big and spacious with simple decor. It's located in the same shopping area as the Safeway in Kapaa, so it's easy to find. The menu is pretty standard for a pho spot. We ordered the chicken pho and bun bo hue. Prices are definitely higher than on the mainland (about $5-10 more), which I guess is expected for Kauai since I'm sure they have to import most of the stuff. The food came out within 5 mins or so. The bun bo hue was a bit non-traditional -- oxtail instead of pig trotter, no blood cake, and thin noodles instead of the usual thicker ones. The broth was pretty average, if albeit salty. The oxtail was super fatty. The broth wasn't hot enough to cook the meat slices. Average experience. It satisfied the need but likely won't come here again. read more

Went here one evening after a day at the pool and beach and it was great. I ordered stir fried veggies with tofu and eggplant which was tasty but overly salty. My family ordered pho with raw ribeye and they were pleased. Another in our party got bun thit nuong with shrimp and egg roll and he liked it a lot! A quaint little pho restaurant located in a strip mall with playing parking. The staff here are very friendly. The portion size is a bit small for the price. I ordered the Pho Combination. Great spot for a cold, windy day. The soup was good and full of flavor, and the food came out quickly. We arrived at 7:45 pm on a Sunday, they are open until 8:30 pm. We received our food before 8:00 pm which was nice as we were definitely hungry. The staff was friendly and helpful. There's also a good amount of dine-in seating available, which is nice since it's close and right in the heart of Kapaa town. My son had no complaints about his fried rice (which he order with no vegetables of course). And I really enjoyed the summer rolls and peanut sauce--came with 2 rolls, and it was fresh. My husband & daughter ordered the #10: Rare Steak Noodle Pho, which they savored & devoured every last bit. Had a serious craving for Pho with a sore throat on a rainy Kauai evening and I couldn't have been happier with our selection! My chicken Pho was so tasty and the broth was spot on. Quite possible this is the best Pho I have ever had! We had take out, chicken pho, absolutely delicious!

While the service was good, the $25.99 Bun Bo Hue was not. It was bland and they already included the vegetables to make it look full. The meats were same as the combination pho except for the added oxtail. I have eaten many Bun Bo Hue in my life and this one was at the bottom. There might be a food safety issue as well. I am sitting in my car with the view of the kitchen. The server is using his unwashed ungloved hands to make the vegetables for the pho. read more

We are from Little Saigon area of CA so for us, this was a decent Vietnamese restaurant but food was meh. We had the birds nest noodles with beef, lemon grass banh mi, summer ( spring) rolls. The noodles for the birds nest dish were not the ones I expected, instead of the thicker, crispy light noodles these were skinny and hard, very crunchy but not the ones we usually have with this dish; the sauce was good but bit salty and the meat was hard. The summer rolls were average and the banh mi was flavors of meat didn't blend well, like not marinated enough and was hard. Maybe for other dishes would be better but what we had was not that great, just ok. read more

This little spot was just what we needed after arrival from the mainland. We had a late lunch/ early dinner here. First walking in we could smell some thing good from the kitchen. We tried lots of different dishes among the 6 of us. Service was very welcoming and friendly. It was a tad slow but really quite normal for "island time" I just needed to adjust my mainland mentality. This is a family friendly place with good food, generous portions and decent prices. Hubs ordered the Bun bo Hue which definitely had a kick. Mom ordered the oxtail pho and noted the broth was flavorful but the oxtail pieces were quite fatty and not a lot of meat. We were on vacation and stayed ~5 min away. We came in around 7:30PM (30 min before closing) and I ordered the Pho Combination. We were visiting from LA so my expectations are pretty high. If this was LA, I would probably give 3.5 stars but it's Kaua'i with limited restaurant options so def 4.5 stars. The Pho Combination ($17) came with lots of meat and broth definitely hit the spot after the vacation drinks. The sauce options were not OG sriracha or hoisin, so it felt a bit off but the pho itself it the spot. Service was quick, and our order came out quickly. If you're looking for pho in Kauai, this place is the way to go! They are owned by Vietnamese people, who know how to cook a pretty decent bowl of pho. My family and I all ordered pho, as well as the papaya salad. I would highly recommend to pass on the papaya salad since it didn't have any meat. It was a little pricey for no reason. The bowls of pho were good, there was a nice pho scent to it and it came out very hot! I will say that the bowls were pretty small, but overall, we were full by the end of the meal. I've visited here twice on different trips. The first thing that draws my attention is that they pretty much don't turn the tables to be ready for the next customer. Almost every table is full of dirty dishes and food until a patron shows up. Then they will clear that specific table. It is such a strange practice. As for the food, there really are not that many options, if at all, for Vietnamese food. Quality is 2 stars for LA bumped up by 1 aloha star here on the island. Tried Vietnamese coffee, Thai iced tea, papaya salad, summer rolls, spring roll, beef pho, oxtail pho, lemongrass combination pho, and pork chop with pork patty over rice. We really enjoyed their Vietnamese coffee, papaya salad, beef, oxtail pho and pork chop over rice - authentic Vietnamese is hard to come by on Kauai. The only star I would knock off is wait time for food being served, even with "Hawaii time" considered, we spent more time waiting for our food than consuming it. Located in a large shopping center with plenty of parking spots. This establishment is family run. Great customer service. They were very attentive to our needs. There are also very kind to all the patrons. I saw them also take exceptional care of the patrons' kids that would come in. Just a very nice family run shop. We had the pho and fried eggrolls. We ordered whole fish. We were told the fish was tilapia and a lot of bones. What we found out was that the fish was skin and bones but no flesh. it came with a choice of rice or noodles.
