I remembered this place as having magical banana mac nut pancakes in what seems like a lifetime ago. Line on a Saturday mid morning was long - pro tip - get in 'line' using Yelp. Sadly, only 1 pancake option on the menu but you can customize it to your liking with fresh fruit, nuts, etc. looks like French toast and waffles are the new 'it' foods and comprise a large portion of them menu. Note, I didn't get a taste of my son's French toast or bacon, egg and cheese sandwich as he mowed through all of it. I barely got my hands out of the way after these pictures before he inhaled both plates. My Luau omelette was on point. Scratching my itch for Kalua pig. All in all a nice breakfast. Stellar, uh, no. 3.5 ish. Humongous portions! Prices are pretty steep for breakfast but the portion is there. I usually get the loco moco because you can see how each place makes it. The one here was ok. The gravy was good but the patty itself was bland and no seasoning and no grill taste. Put it together than you have flavors from the gravy. My husband got the crab Benedict. Comes with bacon. It was around $30ish but stuffed with crab. Very good. Then we got a half order of the French toast with the coconut syrup, that was good. Very filling and sweet. Came here on a recommendation, and it was spot on! Service was quick and polite, great recommendations on what to eat, food came pretty quickly, it was delicious and filling. We had breakfast here 2/4 mornings we were on Kauai. It's like a diner - omelets, pancakes, etc., and lots of Hawaiian specialties (but we're vegetarian so those aren't for us). We did order the specialty juice 1 morning, fresh papaya juice. Pricey but a real treat (we shared 1 glass). Their coffee is good and they give refills. First visit, we shared a vegetable omelette with fruit on the side, and an order of pineapple French toast that was to die for. You get regular syrup and coconut syrup to go with. Mmm. Second visit, hubs had that omelette, with hash browns, and I had vegetable eggs Benedict ; no meat, but fresh spinach, mushrooms, and tomato. SO good! Oh, also the hash browns. Well prepared, served by friendly and efficient staff, everyone is nice, restroom is clean, food is excellent. If you're in the Kapaa area, try it! read more

We placed our names on the waitlist via Yelp and arrived as our names were coming up - very convenient. Started with the coconut latte, which was good. Kiddo ordered the ube french toast and liked them a lot, especially with their homemade coconut syrup. He felt overloaded with carbs and sugar after, though. Dad went with the corned beef hash - noted it was too salty for him. Mom was happy with the Sampler Special she ordered. Hubs ordered the Ultimate Steak Moco. Although the rice with the gravy and mushrooms was good, he noted there wasn't actually a lot of steak. Didn't necessarily think it was worth the $31. I ordered the Kalua pork and eggs - good smoky flavor to the pork. The cornbread side was kinda dry, even with the butter and honey. We also ordered the coconut French toast to share. I liked the ube one more. Service was excellent. Very busy place, so it took a while for our orders to come out. read more

A must try for any tourist lucky enough to be in the vicinity of this place! We were a group of 4 adults 2 kiddos and one infant. The server was kind and full of care. She answered our questions. We all settled on a variety of dishes. I was being a basic dude and had eggs, hash browns, bacon and a bowl of fruit. Oh and the coffee... oh, The Coffee! Everything came out in a timely fashion. You could hear the sounds of joyous eating intermingled with the sounds of other boisterous groups digging into their plates as well. Worth every penny! So, much so, I bought a t shirt. Joined the waitlist via Yelp about an hour before we headed in so we only waited ~5mins when we arrived. Service was quick and amazing. The Ube pancakes were super yummy and the Kauai Benedict was pretty good but just way too much pork that wasn't very flavorful. Hopefully we may swing by again during our trip and try some more of the menu. Would recommend for a classic breakfast during your stay. Initial impression: Busy, pricey but everything in Kauai is pricey, decent menu options. This seems to be a real hot spot on the east side of the island. This place was packed even at 12pm in the afternoon. We got there around 10:50am and put our names on their digital waitlist and did not get into a seat until 11:40am (that should give you a picture of how busy this place can get). There was 15 people ahead of us so that gave us some time to explore the nearby shops which was fine with us! The digital waitlist (through Yelp) was pretty dang accurate and once we were number two in line we were pretty much sat right away. The ambiance was very "Kountry Kitchen" esque. It was warm and pretty comfortable looking. The floors were a tad messy but that's to expect with the kind of turnover these guys are having. Our waiter was ok. He did not seem to be able to spark conversation naturally and it seemed like we did most of the talking. There was no "Ok so what can I get you", instead it was me and my wife just saying "we'll get this and that". There also wasn't a lot of "check up"; our waters were empty nearly all of the time so we had to "ration" what we drank and the other drinks we ordered we had to continually ask for refills. Now the wait for the food (minus the waiter not taking our orders for at least 15 minutes) took around 10 minutes, which wouldn't be to bad if the preceding incident had not occurred. Once the food got to us let me say, wow! It was incredibly delicious. I got the Kauai Benedict and my wife got the Caramelized Pineapple French Toast. Pictures wouldn't do it justice! It was delicious is all I will say. The Benedict was cooked to perfection and the combination of the salmon with the pork was especially flavorful. I also did a side order of Spam which was also cooked to perfection! You have to try it as it's a staple food ! All in all the experience was not bad, just a little off in some spots. The food was delicious, the employees were very nice, and it was a great spot to sit down for brunch! The price did come out to around $66 (plus tip) so as with everything in Kauai be prepared to pull out the wallet! I would recommend this establishment but with a disclaimer that the wait may be long so make it ahead of time and also be prepared to eat some delicious food! I'm very confused seeing good reviews for this restaurant. Just went for brunch and ordered the eggs Benedict and an omelette. The bread was overcooked. The ham was way too thick. The hashbrowns were burnt. But the cornbread was easily the worst cornbread I have ever had in my life. Feels like a tourist trap. They were overflowing with people when we got here. We were almost certain that there will be an exhausting wait. I am many things but definitely not a patient person when I am hungry . I was almost ready to walk out after 5 minutes but they had a two-person table open up fortunately and we were ushered in much to the disappointment of those who were waiting for longer but had a bigger party size. We were able to order soon after, but it took them an extremely long time to get the food out. When the food finally arrived, it took all of my strength to take a pic first but such is the Yelp way of life .I got the Traditional Loco Moco and was very intrigued by the dish -I haven't had it before and found it very unique for a breakfast item . It certainly was very filling and I had to get a takeout box for half of it which I enjoyed later in the day. My hubby got the Kauai Benedict and despite loving it , wasn't able to finish it either . The staff checked up on us frequently and recommended things to do in the area. We came here for our last breakfast before heading home. It was surprisingly busy on a Monday morning, but the wait wasn't too bad. There is an iPad that you check in on by the entrance and a couple shops nearby where you can browse while waiting. The menu is extensive and it was hard to choose, but I got the Kauai Benedict and absolutely loved it. My bf really liked his traditional loco moco too. Our server was very sweet and food came out relative quickly. A great place for breakfast or lunch if you're in the area! We got there fairly early but still was barked at to sign in at the iPad to be put on the waitlist by Dominique. Food was nothing extraordinary, "homemade" corn beef hash plate for $23 was most definitely canned palms and portion was small. Owner's niece Dominique loudly made fun of tourist who came back for their table in 7 minutes "your table gets given away after 5 minutes" rules are rules but after they walked away she joked with servers "it's not my fault you don't know how to read you text" She's brash and makes the experience horrible! Server Kelly was sweet, but I'd think twice about having the face of your company being so openly and loudly rude to visitors. Shame. read more

Yes! The food here lived up to it's high reputation. This is a comfortable and quirky casual place with friendly servers and a big menu. I started with a pineapple iced tea that was delicious and the pineapple made it unnecessary to add any sugar. My husband tried a big glass of watermelon juice. It tasted like you were drinking a watermelon---I had been concerned that it would be watery, but no, it was so good! I really enjoyed the eggs Benedict with bacon and avocado. The bacon was crunchy and thick, the eggs poached perfectly, and the avocado was fresh and plentiful. The potatoes were crisp which was what I ordered. The corned beef hash was good and came with two eggs, potatoes, and yummy corn bread. Our server was really nice and even gave me a free refill on my iced tea.
