I stopped into this neighborhood Korean spot for a quick lunch last Friday, and it was exactly what I needed. I've been craving cold noodles, and this place absolutely hit the spot. The atmosphere was eclectic, with K-pop playing on one television and Animal Planet on another-- I was also the only one there. The service was incredibly warm--the woman who helped me was so kind and made the experience feel very welcoming, even dining solo. We visited on a weeknight. The restaurant was a bit empty despite it being a holiday. There was only one aunty working there (that we saw in the front), but she was super nice and proactive in helping us refill the banchan. I ordered a combo soft tofu soup. They use onion and zucchini in their version, which reminded me of college because all the Korean restaurants there had onion and zucchini in their version as well. I, however, do not like onion and zucchini in my tofu soup because it makes it sweet. I like my soup spicy. I did ask for extra spicy but it was not spicy at all. The jalapeño sauce they have on the side was amazingly spicy though. I would not recommend their soft tofu soup; however, I did try the soup with the tendon and that one tasted great. 3.5 stars rounding up to 4 because the lady was so nice. read more

We were actually happy that Korea Garden opened back up, but upon arriving we noticed it was different. I use to go here for their black bean noodles back then, but it was no longer on the menu now. Also a noticeable difference is the price. Back then it was more reasonably priced, and now it's more expensive for the portion size that you get. I was originally craving Korean fried chicken and stumbled onto this place on yelp but they they told me they underwent new management and the menu is different now. No more chicken! I went with LA galbi and seolleongtang instead. The galbi was really good! For sides they had fresh kimchi, bean sprouts, fish cake, and radish. It's pretty close to home which is a plus because most of the Korean places are on el Camino real. Lovely service, but honestly the galbijim wasn't super quality or big enough quantity, I felt like we were given the weirds bits vs center cuts of beef rib. My Seolleongtang was also skimpy on the tendon again at the price. The banchan was only okay and wasn't as much variety as I was hoping for and the galbijim was a bit too sweet for my taste. These are standard. Most all Korean/Japanese restaurants have them. Seafood Pancake: Crispy and chewy Pancake topped with squid, shrimp, & veggies (4/5). I liked that this Pancake had both squid and shrimp. Some only have squid. It was quite crispy. Ja Jang Myeon: Black Bean sauce noodle (4/5). Simple, traditional dish that was flavorful and savory. Been smelling the wondering scents coming from this place when dining at Pho Saigon. Decided to finally try it last night for dinner after work. They close at 9pm and we arrived around 8:20 and got seated right away. Although it was almost closing time, we never felt rushed to leave. We enjoyed the following: Galbijim: full of tender meat, rice cakes, carrots, onions and peppers. Spicy cold noodle: included meat, egg and radish KFC: soy garlic 1/2 size Everything came out piping hot and we really enjoyed every single dish. We ate a ton even tho we were getting full off of the Banchan (yes, we got refills of all Banchan it was that good) and still had a lot of leftovers to take home. Most unique and tasty Banchan that most places do not have was the eggplant! So yummy. My mom, sister, and I ended up at Korea Garden after another Korean restaurant we originally planned to go to had a really unpleasant experience with rude service. Honestly, I'm so glad that happened because we found this gem! The owner here was incredibly welcoming and sweet, which immediately set the tone. The food was just as amazing. My mom is extremely picky and an incredible cook, so she rarely enjoys eating out, but she loved everything we ordered. We got the mul naengmyun (cold noodles), bibim naengmyun (spicy cold noodles), galbi (beef short ribs), and yukgaejang (spicy beef soup), and every single dish was delicious. We kept saying how happy we were that the other place didn't work out because we wouldn't have discovered this spot otherwise. I want to say that my boyfriend and I enjoyed ourselves here. The food and Banchan was decent. I normally don't eat spicy so I was surprised at how I could tolerate the jjampong. This place is kind of tucked away in a small grocery market plaza, and wasn't busy at all when we arrived around 6PM for a weeknight dinner. My friend and I dined in and ordered the tang su yuk (deep fried pork) and the jajangmyeon (black bean sauce noodles). We were quite impressed! Everything was flavorful and the portions were quite generous, especially given that the noodles were only $13. That dish could easily be a filling meal by itself, and in this economy that feels like a great deal! The pork had a nice crunch to it and the sauce was tangy and sweet. Ordered the whole fried chicken with honey/cheese and supreme. Huge pieces aside, the honey/cheese hit the spot for me. The combination sounds weird at first, but it's actually a sweet Parmesan dry rub due to the honey. The supreme sauce was medium spicy even though it wasn't marked as spicy on the menu. It was a nice slow burning spice that won't make you sweat too much, but will make you reach for the water. I rarely give out 5 stars but this place certainly deserves it for its chicken. read more

We've been here 3 times already and the food here is so good. My husband has been here before when it was under a different management so it took some time to convince him to check it out. This has become one of our favorite Korean restaurants in the South Bay. We've tried a bunch of dishes here and my favorite has been yuk gae jong (spicy beef noodles) with the fresh hand made noodles. The broth is so flavorful and has a great spice to it. The portion is huge and we've taken the leftovers to eat at home. Other dishes we've tried have been the jja-jamg myeon, jjam-ppong, bibim-naengmyeon, the fried chicken (soy & garlic, honey & cheese), and grandma's galbi-jjim. All of these have been so good. It seems like this is a family owned business, which we appreciate and love to support. Everyone here is always nice and friendly. You know you've walked into an authentic Korean restaurant when you hear Korean being spoken among the staff and customers. Super solid Korean spot in Milpitas!! I absolutely loved the Ban Chan variety they had. Personal favorite was the eggplant! Menu prices were pretty reasonable in my opinion, nothing that would make you jump out the chair though. Yum!! My boyfriend and I had a date night here, so we were excited to try out their noodles! Probably some of the best jajangmyeon in the Bay Area right now. The pork was juicy, and they were generous with their onions. The black bean sauce wasn't super thick like other spots, which I enjoyed! The sauce was lighter, but still clung onto the noodles well. Having been to competitor Paik's Noodle a few days before, my opinion is fortunately/unfortunately anchored. Korea Garden Bistro wasn't crowded on a Sunday afternoon (after normal lunch time), whereas Paik's can have long lines to get seated. One reason could be because of price. So glad my daughter recommended we dine here. This place offered all of the Korean dishes I'd been wanting to try. We came on a Saturday about 1p, I made a reservation for 6 which really didn't seem to be necessary but they did join 2 tables together. Waiter was very attentive and when we placed our order, he said it was alot, so I asked if it was too much , and he said it was not. We were a party of 4 adults and 2 children. All the food came out in a timely fashion, I was happy about that since I was hungry. We ate family style, so everyone could have a little of everything. It was perfect. We were pleasantly stuffed. Tteokbokki was perfectly spicy we added noodle and cheese for extra $3. Worth it. Soondubu was nice and hot in stoneware pot. My daughter practically ate the whole thing herself, its her favorite dish. First time having honey cheese wings, we got a half.order and that was plenty. The wings are so worth it because they are HUGE! Very tasty. Bibimbap was also a nice size portion. First time having tansuyuk. The batter was nice and light, qnd the sauce is served on the side which you can dip or pour over. Oh and let's not forget the Jjangmyeon. That was most authentic and look forward to dish. Under new management! So much better than before! When this restaurant first opened up years ago, I went here a lot. The sides were great and so were the entrees, but after a while their service started getting shotty and they started charging for banchan refills. I was so annoyed that I never came back. The menu has the main items like bulgogi, tofu soup, and rice cake appetizer. Basically covers the most well-known Korean dishes. The staff are sweet Korean ladies that remind me of my aunts. They are so nice and check in on you regularly. I usually judge a Korean restaurant on their banchan. This is one of the rare times that I have liked all the ones they gave us. No bean sprouts thank goodness. I loved the eggplant. Spicy and delicious. Never had eggplant banchan before. What we ordered - Beef tofu soup - very good. Husband approved. Not bland like other places I've tried Dduk bokki - no complaints. Great Bulgogi - large amount for two meals Japchae - good amount of flavor. Most of the time it's really bland to me, but this one was good even if it was vegetarian. Fried chicken (soy garlic) - I like how the chicken is breaded. Flakey and crispy, but I would skip the soy garlic sauce. It was a weird mix of sweet and savory. The menu is quiet simple and straight forward. I ordered the spicy tofu soup with beef for 18.99. My friend got a spicy noodle dish. Both were very good and delicious. The spicy tofu was not spicy enough but the good thing was it was not salty like other places i have tried. They offer 1 egg, 1 bowl of rice, and they also have y different bonchon. The atmosphere is welcoming and the interior was clean and inviting. They play Kpop on the tvs. The servers were extremely attentive and helpful. They check on you often. We came before the lunch rush and it was not too loud or crowded. I ordered the Japchae while my friend ordered the black bean noodle. Both were stunningly flavorful and presented well. We found this place while searching for Korean food in the area. It's a hole-in-the-wall type of restaurant, but it's really good. For dinner, we ordered bibimbap and fried chicken wings to share. I loved that they served a generous amount of banchan (side dishes), giving it a homey feel like eating at a grandma's house. The auntie serving us was very sweet and quick to take our order and bring out the food. The bibimbap was flavorful, but the highlight for me was the delicious crispy chicken wings. Came here to try their cold noodles and tang suyuk. Food was really good but we were so disappointed in their service. We didn't ask for anything the whole meal but they never came to check up on us even though it wasn't even busy. When we asked for a to go box the lady seemed annoyed and forgot to give us a container for the tang suyuk sauce. We politely asked for one and she didn't respond and just walked away and basically threw it on our table. We were confused because they were super nice to the big korean family next to us? They never checked up once on us or even said thank you when they left the check on the table without saying anything...
