For more than 14 years, the Kopper Kettle Kafe & Katering Co. has been serving fresh, delicious and quality breakfast and lunch items to a throng of loyal customers. The fairly large country-looking restaurant is a popular hangout for many people who eat here three to four times a week and use the restaurant to socialize.
Choosing a breakfast item is no easy task. The menu is features large selections of traditional as well as original dishes that scream out "choose me!"
After reviewing the menu for what seemed an eternity, I decided to try the raisin bread French toast for $6.75, the veggie omelet for $7.95, and the signature pumpkin short stack for $6.95.
The French toast starts off with three thick slices of homemade raisin bread that is dipped into an egg bath, fried on both sides and topped with a delicious warm butter rum sauce. The bread is sensational and it is no wonder this is one of their best sellers.

The three-egg omelet features Swiss and cheddar cheese along with fresh carrots, cauliflower, broccoli and squash and served with a choice of home fries or hash browns and homemade biscuits or toast. The omelet was very good and was a good healthy choice since there was not an over abundance of cheese in it.
The most talked about item on the menu is their outstanding two large pancakes with a wonderful pumpkin flavor topped with a incredible sweet and rich butter toffee sauce, whipped cream and walnuts. The pancakes were fluffy and a true culinary award-winning dish.
After being spoiled by three excellent breakfast dishes, I was hoping the lunch items I ordered were as good as what I just sampled, lucky for me, they indeed were just as great.
Next came the chicken fried steak for $8.25, a large crisp tenderized cube steak breaded and fried until crisp and topped rich creamy country gravy, and served with two eggs and choice of potatoes and breads. I appreciate that they make this item from scratch and not the frozen premade ones many restaurants sell.
Another great dish was the turkey club sandwich for $8.50, a masterful combination of an ample portion of fresh oven-roasted turkey breast, crisp bacon, mayo, lettuce, tomato slices and American and Swiss cheese on three pieces of toasted sourdough bread. The sandwich was cut into six pieces.
The sandwiches were massive and are difficult for anyone to bite into it, even those with "big mouths." This sandwich was absolutely one of the best I have had and came with an equally large portion of fries.
Rounding out the feeding frenzy was the terrific tri-tip sandwich for $9.95, including tender and tasty slices of tri-tip served on a roll with blue cheese crumbles, lettuce, tomato, sliced onions and fries. The tri-tip was tender, juicy and nicely seasoned but the only change that I would make is to ask for grilled onions instead of the raw onions since I think caramelized onions would add even more flavors to the sandwich.
Make sure you save room for the unique freshly made waffle with creme brule and topped with fresh berries or the popular strawberry shortcake. Another treat is the homemade marshmallows served with their hot chocolate. You sure don't find that too often. They also sell a variety of pies, cakes and other delightful baked goods that you can purchase on the way out.
