Pick Three Kooky Combo: Chicken Tenders, Fried Green Tomatoes, Cheese Bites. Old Bay Hot Honey Sauce

My wife and I were searching for a good Sports Bar to watch an NCAA March Madness game. We were staying at the Peabody Hotel in Downtown Memphis and discovered this venue was right across the street. We checked it out ahead of time, lots of TV's. Decent menu of options, and everyone seemed friendly. Upon return we found a couple seats at the bar, which we prefer, where we could watch our game. Mike the bartender was awesome, very friendly, made us feel at home. We ordered the Appetizer plater which was really good. The Old Bay Hot Honey Dip for the Chicken Tenders was a favorite. The food coming out for the people around us all looked good. We had a great time, and would definitely go back.

As I was leaving work, I had a craving for fish and chips. There are a couple of places that serve fish and chips but this right here is my go to. You get two huge pieces of breaded cod, golden invaded perfection and the fries. Take up half the plate and they're not just crispy but they're flavorful they give you half half of a lemon instead of a small piece my only grape is more tartar sauce. Other than that this gets a 10 out of 10. Even on my off day, I would make the drive just for this!!

Had the Prime Rib Stroganoff- was PERFECTION on a plate! DELICIOUS!!! Food was hot fresh and quick. Would go back again and again.

I was impressed from the time I first stepped through the door . I was greeted by a extremely enthusiastic hostess who was happy to see me. I ordered to go; so the hostess asked me to proceed to the bar. I ordered a chef salad, one pound of wings, cheese burger combo. Childs chicken meal and bread pudding. The food was served hot and seasoned. You definitely get your money's worth with the large portions served. The overall feel of the restaurant is very welcoming and relaxing. The only thing is you may have to park in a nearby garage because it's difficult to find free parking or parking on the street. Also add Premium Parking app on your phone.

This is such a fun place and I'm really glad I came and tried the challenge. I will be back to do it again just with the burger a little less done. It was a bit overcooked making it harder to chew. Next time medium or medium rare. My wife lived the salmon and the boys liked their chicken and burger as well. The poutine was my personal favorite as I love it when done right. The service was phenomenal and very friendly. I loved our server and had a great time. The ambiance is very fitting and made a Minnesotan feel very at home considering we're often confused as Canadian anyway ahh? :)

Canadian spot- had been looking for a place with poutine! This place was walking distance from other great eat spots, lighting was dark but a big open space. Soda menu had ginger ale, surprisingly! We went for things with gravy and cheese curds. Poutine fries were loaded with Kraft Mac n Cheese, cheese curds, gravy... he got the poutine burger. Food was good but looked way better than the flavor unfortunately. The flavor was good, but didn't have anything that stuck out seasoning wise. It would be good for a picky eater. When we asked for our check we had an issue with an extra item added on our tab, but had it settled before we left.

    Memphis' Best Burger

Epically good food!! We're always a fan of Canadian food, but most restaurants are kitschy, without having really good food. The Kooky Canuck is a wonderful restaurant with delicious food, wonderful service, and great vibes! Friday night was full, but we were able to be seated right away! We started with a Log House salad with house made Honey Mustard. It was so fresh, with crisp mixed greens, egg, a generous amount of shredded cheese, diced tomato and red onion! The dressing was so flavorful! Then we each ordered a burger - the Canadian and the Memphis Best! Both were incredible!! Well seasoned patties, delightful toppings, substantial but soft bun...and the fries were perfectly cooked and salted! It should have been too much food - especially accompanied by a 34oz Loonie Logger on tap and a sweet tea - but we managed to finish it all! It was the highlight of our trip to Memphis and I will be dreaming about it until we can return!

    Chopped Cheese burger and fries

My favorite fries BY FAR. Burger and catfish were delicious. Highly recommend if you are in Memphis. I will be going back for sure. Servers were nice and friendly.

Went on a Wednesday night not crowed. Service fast and 2.40 beers made my night. Had Poutine and my wife had steak. Also chicken in Mac and cheese for my daughter. Food was hot and reasonably priced for a city. Only strange thing was blue cheese mashed potatoes as a side you could not taste the cheese? No big deal great sports bar / restaurant.

I'm not going here again. I'm in Memphis for a long conference and I thought I found a really good place but no. About the food, it is amazing. Good portion, good flavor, and good price. The reason for me not going back is the waitress. Everything was going well until I showed her a Yelp discount coupon. She said she needed to verify with the manager, which I think is reasonable, but after that moment, her attitude changed completely. At the moment of checking out, she dismissed the coupon because she did not mention it to the manager. I pointed out, and she was definitely upset. The manager came and nicely gave me the discount. However, when I saw the receipt, the waitress gave herself over 25% of tip. After that, she did not appear again. It's really unfortunate because the food was good, but service is something really important for me.

Food and service is decent, got a $25 steak that was 5 bites. Price is high but on par with other restaurants in the area.

The food however was honestly meh (in my opinion). I got a creole dish and to be fair my dish looked beautiful. The plating was 10/10 but the taste for me left something to be desired. After eating this dish I questioned if I even like creole sauce because it really just wasn't that good. If this is a preference issue, I honestly don't know. I also thought the charcuterie appetizer had a weird mix of items on it from club crackers, to meat and cheese, and random veggies. Not bad but just kind of a weird mix. My husband ordered the salmon and he said it was good, not the best he's had but it was good. Other friends of ours got the white fish among the many other dishes. I did have a salad with these apples on it which was incredibly yummy. I will say though my dish looked amazing some of the other dishes were not plated well. Not to nitpick but to want to be considered a more upscale restaurant which means charging guest more money than say a local Applebee's then knowing how to appropriately garnish or drizzle sauce to elevate at plate is important (see my picture of the chicken dish). All and all not my favorite restaurant but definitely not the worst!!

Let me start by saying this: I truly enjoy this restaurant. The atmosphere is unique, the concept is fun, and historically the food and service have been reliable. That's exactly why this experience stood out so much. For a party of our size, we would have preferred seating toward the back of the restaurant where it was noticeably warmer and more comfortable. Instead, we were seated in an area that felt a bit chilly, which set the tone for the evening. The bigger issue, however, was with the food and service execution. Four dishes out of our party of twelve were essentially untouched. Two scallop entrées and the Steak Frites were overcooked, tough, and unfortunately inedible. The special ribeye of the night--the most expensive entrée--was also not finished. What concerned me most was that no one from the service team paused to read the table or ask why multiple plates remained full. Only one dish was removed, and there was no follow-up conversation about the others. We spent over $800 that evening, including drinks, appetizers, sides, and desserts, so expectations for attentiveness and quality were understandably higher. When a table leaves several entrées uneaten, that's usually a signal worth acknowledging. After the visit, on January 9, 2025, I took the time to provide feedback privately through OpenTable in the hope that management would review it and respond. Unfortunately, I never received any acknowledgment. Even a brief reply would have gone a long way. Silence, in this case, was disappointing and felt like a missed opportunity to demonstrate care and accountability. I'm sharing this feedback because I believe in the restaurant and want to see it succeed. I work in a customer-facing industry myself, and I know firsthand how small service touches--checking in, asking questions, and following up--can make the difference between a good experience and one that keeps guests coming back. I genuinely hope this was just an off night. I would still consider returning, but I do hope the level of attentiveness and follow-through improves.

They like places like this so I get by ever so often. Gotta love expensed meals!!! Tehehe I like the open kitchen concept they have and the bar is really cool. I've never had anything bad here, but a few sighs have been had, mostly by misunderstood expectations of what I was getting I would say. So, quite possibly I am the problem. As with most of my problems, actually... The oysters Rockefeller are very different from the norm. Fried oysters on a side of spinach. That's what it seems like. I ate it up, don't get me wrong. I did just switch to only fried oysters after the first one. No need wasting stomach space on spinach. Charbroiled oysters is always a good move and the preparation remains traditional on that one. I do find the oysters to be quite massive and hard to chew the whole thing at once. Cutting them just seems silly though. Steaks are prepared very well and to your liking each time. I have never had a bad one. Good flavor too. I am going to spring on the Hawaiian Ribeye the next time I go on my dime. It's a classic that I remember from Steak and Ale as well as Houston's. Both now gone from Memphis. I like the she crab soup an awful lot, and just about every entree I have had here is killer. You really cannot go wrong with the food. Just order something you normally like and boom. I will also say this. The short ribs I had last time were some of the best I have ever had. Bravo on that! Additionally, I had two giant pieces for like $40! I could only eat one of them after all of the appetizers. Oh.... Yea. They have a hot lobster roll that is good! You don't see that in Memphis very often!! Get you some. Wait.... Lamb Lollipops. They have evolved some of the years but they have really good lamb chops. They used to be the exact same dish as their sister concepts of Itta Bena, BB Kings, and Lafayette's. I am not sure if the whole family still has the old version or not. Here it has changed a good bit. As I write this, I crave it.... Ugh. Damn your foods and your seductive prowess food skills! Lastly, Tommy Peters did great things for this city's food scene. I am sad that he is gone but I know he was proud of this one! Ok. That's enough, Adam.... No one reads this crap anyway. '26 - 48
