Found this place online and it looked really cute. I loved the light fixtures and exposed brick. Very cool decor. Came for brunch on Friday around noon. There was no wait to get in. They made us wait until our entire party arrived to be seated. Service was very friendly and prompt. We had the fiesta omelette, meat lovers, and the German town. Everyone enjoyed their food. A little pricey for brunch, $19 for an omelette. There is street parking, it's not too difficult to find a spot.
We stopped in on a busy Saturday morning and were not disappointed. The food was quick and delicious. We especially loved the breakfast potatoes and how well they were seasoned. I could eat a whole bowl of just potatoes. I am excited to visit again and try something else on their large menu!
Queens breakfast spot in downtown area. Short weight on a Sunday morning but got seated within 10 to 15 minutes. Service was quick and easy and food was served within a couple minutes. Potions are relatively small but enough. The breakfast potatoes and turkey sausage were flavorful and had a strong rosemary flavor. That was buttery and slightly crispy on the outside and soften the inside. The eggs, over easy, we're slightly undercooked, but I did not have a problem with it. They cinnamon mine French toast was very sweet but expected.
If you plan on stopping by The Garden Brunch Cafe, make sure you get there early! We went on a Sunday afternoon and this very cutely decorated place had quite the line. That line was a testament to how delicious the food was. We opted to try the salmon cakes and the Bananas Foster Pancakes. Both were delicious. The sausage was homemade and seasoned perfectly. And the grits are arguably some of the best I've ever had with just the right amount of butter and salt. If you are in the downtown Memphis and are looking for breakfast/brunch, definitely consider going here.

I enjoyed watching the bartenders take the time to ensure every glass was spotless before mixing the drink. Every add in, they donned gloves to add a cherry or garnish. Only open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and worth the wait! I had the blackened tilapia with grits and eggs. Grits were silky smooth, cheesy, and so good. Fish was good, could have been a bit more crusty but still enjoyable. The ginger tea was so tasty and a great nonalcoholic option.
Right across the street from our hotel Arrive. Really nice people and the food was delicious. Only a 5 minute wait on a Sunday morning at 9:30. Looks like the whole family works there.
I was so excited to try this restaurant because in their mission statement it says that they never use frozen ingredients or microwaves and they only cook with virgin olive oil and butter! None of that fake yellow oil. I made it there before the crowd and it was a beautiful day for brunch. The decor was lovely. The artwork that hung against the floral walls gave the place a sophisticated feel. I especially enjoyed the music selection and the fresh flower on my table. My waiter was great, I ordered the Salmon Cakes with eggs and potatoes. I also had a fruit tea. The Salmon Cakes and Potatoes were perfectly cooked. The honey mustard sauce that came with it was sweet but good! If I had to change anything I would have preferred a lemon instead of a lime wedge. The potatoes were evenly cooked, no onions or bell peppers just well seasoned and good! The owners put a lot of thought into the decor so I had to check out the bathroom and it was also beautiful and clean! Well done! They have vegan and gluten free options as well as a cocktail menu. This is perfect for anyone needing a break from Chicken and Waffles (not that there's anything wrong with that) Variety is the spice of life!
Food was delicious. Jennifer the owner sat us and took our order. She was friendly and shared that the menu items are her mother's recipes. Her mother must've been a fabulous cook because everything was absolutely delicious. The space is cute and inviting. Some of the previous reviews complain about service being slow, but thankfully we did not have that issue. They don't accept reservations, so we had about a 25 minute wait on a Sunday. I'd definitely return. They have lots of vegetarian options. This is a great option for a boozy brunch. Tip: finding free street parking could be a challenge. And if you have to wait you can use the time to walk around - the Lorraine Motel is less than a block away, plus other cute shops/bars.
I wanted to come back and update my review because I have been twice since my last review and let me just say, they are consistent! I had the steak and eggs with a side of pancakes. The steak was so tender and juicy. It was cooked to perfection and packed with so much flavor. The eggs were good. You can tell that they use cracked eggs. They were fluffy and season to perfection. The third time I went, I had the Breakfast Bowl. It came with scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, and your choice of turkey bacon or turkey sausage over pan-roasted potatoes. Served with a side of toast. This bowl was so heart and filling. The servers are always kind and so down to earth. They always check on their guest to make sure that they are satisfied and have everything needed during the visit. The ambiance is casual and laid back. It just feel like a traditional homestyle place to get good food! Oh and let me say that the drinks are good as well! I can't wait to go back!

I didn't originally set out for the restaurant, but discovering this hidden gem was the BEST decision I made. My experience was amazing from the initial interaction with the owner. The inside is set up super cute and there is even outdoor seating. My waitress was super sweet and accommodating! But the highlight is the food!!!!! When I say everything was good. I mean it. I had the fiesta omelette and cinnabon french toast, but ended up ordering salmon cakes also. The banana fosters pancakes are TOP TIER. It was so good we ate it before I could snap a picture. Nice portions sizes and very reasonable prices. Please try them out. You will not be disappointed!
Stopped by on a Saturday morning, very busy and had to wait 15 minutes for a table. Friendly hostess and the wait was worth the food. Our server was not the most pleasant. I'd want to comeback to try more tasty options.

Service at the bar was a little slow but my my my was it worth it for both the drinks and the food. The coffee martini was perfectly balanced and strong! The coconut cream really set it off. The salmon cakes plate breakfast was so flavorful omg. Salmon cakes were seasoned to perfection with onion in them just how I like it. The Garden Brunch Cafe, located in the South Main Arts District in Memphis, is a family owned-and-operated restaurant that offers plenty of tasty breakfast and brunch options at reasonable prices served by accommodating staff in a stylish, but casual ambiance. The owner and the servers are very friendly and strive to exceed customers' expectations, but the staff seems a little undisciplined at times. When we stopped by for breakfast about 815am on our last day visiting Memphis, there was a growing line of customers standing patiently outside while the staff was getting the restaurant up and running behind schedule. We waited outside for another ten or fifteen minutes before the hostess invited us inside and sat us right away. The owner stopped by after we had received our meals to check in to make sure we had everything we needed and apologized for the delay in opening, which was a nice gesture. She also explained a bit how the restaurant's menu was comprised of dishes she'd developed over the years while cooking for her children as they grew up. The menu includes plenty of tasty, filling breakfast and brunch staples, both savory -- a variety of omelettes, benedicts, bowls, and breakfast sandwiches -- and sweet -- several innovative pancake and french toast options. I had the house-specialty Salmon Cakes platter, consisting of two salmon croquettes with homemade honey mustard glaze served alongside two eggs, grits or potatoes, and toast, which was excellent. My dining companion had the Garden Omelette, filled with tomatoes, broccoli, caramelized onions, and mushrooms, which she really enjoyed as well. We will definitely be back next time we're in the area! PRO TIP #1: The Garden Brunch Cafe is only open on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 8am til 230pm. PRO TIP #2: The Garden Brunch Cafe doesn't have a private parking lot, but there is plenty of on-street parking on South Main Street. read more
My favorite brunch spot in Memphis. Period. The consistency is what gets me. Every time we pop in here (which is basically every chance I get), their spinach omelette ends up on the table and it's like breakfast heaven on a plate. The most fun part? Every time someone opens a bottle of bubbly at the bar, the whole staff hollers "OPA!" - it's just that kind of happy place! The service is quick but they make you feel like family. They've got all these amazing New Orleans-inspired dishes. These folks started out in Nashville but moved here to Memphis, and honestly? Memphis totally lucked out! Oh! And if you're feeling adventurous after eating the whole menu, you can waddle over to the National Civil Rights Museum, check out some neat art galleries, or catch a movie at the theater nearby. The whole South Main Arts District is just the greatest! Pro tip: Get there before by 10 because this place fills up faster than a kiddie pool in July! But trust me, it's worth rolling out of bed for and they move really fast once you sit down. Just go. Your belly will thank you! read more

Very cozy atmosphere with unique art and murals on the walls. The food was tasty, I had the French toast and turkey bacon. I tasted the bananas foster pancakes as well from someone else in my party, and would also recommend those. Our server was great, he found time to check on us despite taking care of most of the tables in the restaurant. read more

Came for a quick breakfast on the way out of town. Our party of 5 was able to walk in and get a table right away. Food was great and service is good. Parking is on the street. If you have time afterwards, walk across the street to the Loraine Hotel which is the Civil Rights Museum. read more

Superb service and food! Each item had such great flavor and was piping hot. As a non pork eater the menu is so inclusive and the turkey sausage was so flavorful. Wait time was about 10-15 minutes for Sunday Brunch. I enjoyed the decor and setup as well. Definitely will be back !! read more

I've wanted to try The Garden when they first opened, but never got the chance, so when my husband surprised me for my birthday brunch, I was truly elated because I've heard great things. This place did NOT disappoint!!! I was truly thankful because my birthday (May 11th) is one of the busiest weekends due to it being Mother's Day weekend . From the moment we arrived (party of 8) typically this is not allowed (parties of 7 usually are acceptable), but the hostess and manager seated us with a smile as we had small kids that could fit in the booth, so it wasn't too bad (thank goodness). My husband let the manager know it was my birthday , and she said well I'm going to make you a special beverage . We were seated and orders were taken. The waitress (can't recall her name) was incredibly helpful and pleasant! As the food was coming around, the manager made good on her promise and brought over a carafe of a special birthday beverage! I was only expecting a glass not glasses and a carafe to share with the adults at my table! . The food was amazing! The service was amazing. The vibe was amazing! Truly an unforgettable experience that made my birthday all the more special. I will forever recommend this establishment! read more
This place was sooooooo good! someone from my run club mentioned that they were going there and so I looked it up on Yelp and decided I'm going there too! I came a little after 1PM on a Sunday (I believe they close at 2:30) and we were seated within a few minutes (there were only 2 people in my party). I ordered the ginger tea for my drink and it was delicious!!! Not too sweet or too ginger-y, but just right! For my entree I ordered the Bananas Foster Pancakes with a side of eggs and this was probably the best bananas foster I have ever had and I'm sooo serious! First of all the the pancakes are huge and you get three of them! And it was sooo decadent and literally it melted in my mouth with every bite! I'm going to dream of these pancakes when I get back to Houston. My friend orders the fish and grits and while I didn't taste them myself she said they were delicious and very well seasoned. We also got a side of the butter pecan pancakes, which weren't bad, but the Bananas Foster was the star of the show! Also wanted to shout out to our waiter because he was soo sweet, attentive, patient and just had overall fantastic customer service. AMAZING food! I got the salmon cakes. Eggs were perfect, potatoes were the best I've ever had for breakfast potatoes. We got there a peak brunch rush out and still got in within 20 minutes. Beautiful interior with a great drink menu! 10/10 recommend read more

This was my first experience at The Garden Brunch Cafe. I waited a while for my food but it was well worth the wait. The Cinnabon French a toast was so good I forgot to take a pic of it. I also tried the Catfish and Grits. It was well seasoned and sooooo good. This is definitely a spot I will try again! read more
If you are looking for a cozy spot eat and catch up with friends or family, this is your choice. If you are looking for Sunday Funday, this is not it. I finally got a chance to check out this new spot on a Sunday afternoon. It was packed and people were waiting outside to get in. Luckily, I was a party of one and there was an empty seat at the bar. They sell liquor, but the bar is extremely limited. They don't do bottles, but you can buy a carafe for $32 which is champagne and juice premixed for you. I asked if I could get the bottle in a chiller and the juice in the carafe and was told that would be $40 for bottle, plus a charge for a glass of juice. I opted for a glass of champagne, which was $14. After I left I went somewhere else and had a $19 bottle. It'd be better if they scrapped cocktails altogether and sold bottles (of a better quality champagne or Prosecco) with small carafes. The service was a slow (be patient with them!) and the food was great. I really want to give it three stars for the mimosa situation but that seems incredibly unfair since the food was great and the owners were kind. plan to visit again to try some of their other dishes. read more
