Service - 5/5: Every time I've been here, they always greet me with a smile. I'm sure they're up at the crack of dawn, getting things prepared, but it's always such a joy coming in! Not to mention that they'll sometimes sneak in free donut holes when you're not looking. What else is there to say? Food - 5/5: The kolaches here are so good (make sure they're warmed up, if they're not fresh out of the oven)! They stick to more traditional options but still offer vegetarian-friendly options (like egg & cheese +/- jalapenos). As soon as you walk in, you can smell the delicious aroma of the dough they use. "Hi! Do you close at 12 or 1pm?" "We close at noon during covid, but I'll be here another half an hr. What's your name?" I had been reading reviews of donut places for two weeks. I was going to pull the trigger last week, but I learned instead that some places' hours were not in line with covid operating hours. This was the second place I called today, and the man who answered was Henry, the owner. I walked in thinking I would get a few things, but I ended up getting something like half a dozen Kolaches and half a dozen donuts. Henry and his wife included a free donut and a kolache - and I came home and found out he had included some donut holes as well. So nice! What I thought was interesting was that they fill the filled donuts to order. I ordered lemon, raspberry, and strawberry - and got the first two but came home to find the last one was Bavarian creme, which I don't like - but I did order a lot, so I understand. Cake donuts tend to be my favorites, but I wasn't a fan of the blueberry and pumpkin cake donuts here. The kolache dough is nice - slightly sweet and pillowy - it almost reminds me of Hawaiian King Bread. Glad I decided to pay this place a try based on Yelp reviews. I wanted to find a new favorite donut shop nearby, one that offered traditional donuts and savory pastries much like Shipley's but something different. The owner Nathan greeted us warmly and offered us some delicious samples right on the spot. Oh goodness! It was light and airy, the kind of donut perfection that lingers on the mind! I was definitely interested in those savory kolaches! I split the cheesesteak and Bomber with my dining partner. I enjoyed both! The dough was light and buttery. The boudin kolache was also delish! I even had a bit of the Chapel Hill sausage kolache, and boy was it yummy! Seriously, everything was tasty and indulging is a guarantee. There's a solid selection of bottled drinks available as well as freshly made espresso beverages. Definitely make this a stop if you're searching for that special and simple donut shop in the area! Choose from Kolaches and donuts. Today, I focused on the kolaches. Although I got to the Kolache Bar close to 10am, they still had quite a selection. I always thought of kolaches like a pig in a blanket-sausage & egg wrapped in a donut dough. Here, the rules are different. Yes, they have those long torpedoes that we're all familiar with. But, they also make a Kolache that is more like a stuffed round Hamburg bun. The dough is soft, sweet and holds well. I went with a standard bacon & egg and a Tex-mex combo with egg, potatoes and jalapeño. There's Philly cheesesteak, Mac & cheese, chicken enchilada and a host of other flavors to try. I finished with a small cup of coffee. Smooth, rich, easy to drink. And yes, the owners work hard, but always find time for a smile. read more

I had some serious donut cravings and wanted some really good donuts to satisfy my hunger. After hearing local rumors about how good Kolache Bar's donuts are, I just had to stop by. Right off the bat, I loved seeing how clean and organized their shop was. Secondly, I loved how we were greeted with a warm welcome and smile. Lastly, I loved how they included samples at the front so that it made it easier for me to decide which donut to get. I got to try the classic flavors, glazed and chocolate glazed donuts. I enjoyed the dough of their donuts a lot. It wasn't too bready and dry and I think the icing to dough ratio was just right. I especially loved their chocolate glazed donut! It has become my all time favorite chocolate glazed donut ever. The chocolate donut was sweet, but the glaze had very light hints of bitterness that complimented the chocolate very well, like it was a dark chocolate glaze. This place also sells kolaches! I got to try the mac & cheese kolache and egg and potato kolache. Both were also pretty tasty too. This shop has a great variety of donuts and kolaches! Plus their prices are extremely affordable, so you can buy a whole bunch without breaking your wallet. You should give this local gem a go! read more

You won't be disappointed visiting this family-owned bakery. There is an arsenal of delicious jalapeño versions to try- I had the chapel hill which comes with locally sourced sausage. Just spicy enough to get your mouth excited. The old fashioned cake donuts and apple fritters are perfect with the house brew too. We've been here 2-3 times and its always been just average. They have so many kolache flavors that will draw you in, but they have all tasted just normal. Not the best kolache dough i've had. The service is incredible, the kolaches and donuts are freshly made they make your taste buds explode with so many delicious flavors that you'll be left wanting more. We came in on a whim while in the area, and were greeted by the most friendly and hospitable person. We tried the chicken curry, pepperoni pizza, and BBQ brisket. All were absolutely amazing and highly recommend trying. We were pleasantly surprised with the chicken curry and look forward to trying the other kinds they have. Lisa and Nate are amazing! I come here every morning now. I used to be a Starbucks drive thru regular but now I'm here! I'd much rather spend my $$$ here--for great FRESH food and coffee. In 5 minutes I walk out with my kolaches, my fave donut holes, and a strong cup of coffee (Iced Vanilla Latte)! Made amazing recommendations to me on what kolaches I should bring home to my wife. Backstory. I was down in houston for work and my wife asked me to pick up some kolaches. Never knew what they were so, naturally I hopped on Yelp, mapped out my directions, and I was well on my way. Now granted I dont have other kolaches to compare to. The sausage and egg kolaches just came out fresh and were spectacular. I told Henry I was visiting and was on my way to the airport and he made sure he sent me off right and just loaded my paper bag with donuts and donutholes. I'm not a Kolache kind of person but when my coworker brought these kolaches to work one day, I had to hunt her down for the location. My favorite is the jalepeno. The bread is very fresh and the bread to sausage ratio is just on point. I also liked their donut a lot although the husband said the kolaches are better. It doesn't hurt either that the people are super friendly and helpful. The restaurant is small but homey. It has maybe 2 tables for dining inside. Definitely recommend! read more
