It's a small shop so people are mainly coming to pick up, but it's well worth the drive. Great food, but they will will not make certain items if they don't feel like it and that's super annoying. I was told a taco would take 20 mins and I said okay but then they said they wouldn't make it. I came another time and they said it was too cold outside so they wouldn't make a cold drink. I am shocked that I've lived in Spring Branch for a year and am just now trying Summit. They have a great selection of items with a variety of options. The Boudin had a great flavor to it, but the texture was a bit softer and mushier than I expected. I also really enjoyed the Sausage and Cheese, but wished they used a little more cheese to level out the ratio. The bread they use on their kolaches is extremely soft and somewhat sweet, complimenting the meat and cheese inside. The Chocolate Glazed Donut was textbook, with a nice consistency and texture, good flavor with a balanced level of sweet. read more

I've tried this place about three different times. I love how they are consistently the same. I usually get the jalapeño sausage with cheese. Man I love the chapel hill sausage. You get more bang for your buck. I would've given them five stars but I ordered a blended latte and it really didn't taste like it had coffee. Manly ice. I was disappointed that I spent $4.99. WOW, they have the biggest and BEST breakfast tacos and kolaches I've ever had. I'm so glad I stopped by after dropping my kid off at summer camp. I originally ordered a boudin kolache but then I saw that they had tacos as well. I ordered a sausage, potato, egg, and cheese taco, and also got a coke. It came to about $9. The taco was so hot and fresh and it tastes amazing. I was too full to eat the kolache so I saved it for lunch. The boudin is authentic, not that store bought JD's stuff. Wow. So good. Came here for the first time last week; got their caramel ice coffee and it was so bad I took two sips and almost vomited. Literally tasted like grease. Also coming from someone who worked at a donut shop in high school, how are your donuts not fresh and warm at 6 am? Order a dozen glazed and it's cold the second I get it. Donut taste was good though, so I will give them props for that: maybe some other things on the menu are worth trying like the savory items but def avoid the coffee. Man listen when i moved to Houston 2 yrs ago i was looking for a donut shop that could match the one i went to in my hometown since High school. Shirley's was not it i tried a few others that were "Okay" but not what i was looking for. I checked out google and read the reviews on Summit and they were cool. It was a bit far from where we lived at that moment but i made the drive, babiiiiiieeeee when i say it was all worth it, i love their donut holes and they have that old school grand mamma coffee that i love not watered down like other places. I love the owners they really get to know their regular customers and always make you feel welcome! It's always clean inside the restaurant and their items are always fresh looking. My suggestion when you go is try the donut holes, their western taco are yummy and huge! They make them fresh so either call ahead or be prepared to wait about 10 minutes but it's worth it with that verde sauce lol you need about 3 verde sauces for one taco they should be called burritos lol. but those are my go to items! I love this place! It's my wife and I's favorite. I get the devil's food donut filled with chocolate. It's amazing and really hits the spot for my chocolate craving! My wife gets Bavarian cream filled eclairs topped with chocolate icing. Their croissant breakfast sandwiches are also good, but I've only had those a couple of times. Each time they're good though. I wanted to like this place. The service is great and so is the coffee. I ordered a sausage egg and cheese croissant. The croissant part was delicious. However I do question the sausage. I've been to Summit Donuts a few times, and I'm always surprised (in a good way!) whenever I come in. Even near their closing time, their items are still delicious! This is the best donut shop in Houston based on quality of service as well as the actual products. They serve breakfast until closing time so if you want a midday breakfast taco this is the perfect place to go and get your money's worth. I get 2 tacos for $7.04 and they are beyond filling. Sometimes I'm forcing myself to finish the second taco because of the size. No complaints here though!!! I come at least 3 times per week for my breakfast tacos/donuts. They always give you really fat tacos which everyone will LOVE! The spicy sauce is not very spicy but adds a great flavor and hint of spice to your tacos. Every single donut that I've ever had here is so soft and fresh tasting. I think donut connoisseurs should definitely make a stop here if ever in Houston. Never had the kolaches personally but they are always selling out whenever I'm in the shop. Mari is usually the lady at the front taking orders and getting people in and out of the door as quickly as possible. You know this place is legit when you see a line of people standing outside the door (and during Covid!) My boyfriend picked up some tacos from here on his way back from a fishing trip and we keep coming back. The breakfast tacos are HUGE and they're filling! It was OK. I got coffee that tasted watered-down and once I put cream & sugar into it, the coffee flavor was muted out almost completely (and it wasn't that much cream & sugar). The donuts did not taste fresh and we were there around 6:30AM. They tasted like they were made 2-3 days ago. Donuts & coffee is my thing and I can tell the difference between fresh donuts and days old donuts. Also, the floors could use some deep cleaning. The appearance of clean floors goes a long way. Where it did well was the customer service was nice & friendly and the prices were reasonable.
