Kokee Tea is a great option for boba. The owners are super friendly. I've had a few different boba teas and have enjoyed all of them. They have tons of flavors on the menu so you'll be sure to find something for everyone's taste. I really appreciate that they have symbols for drinks that can be hot or are decaffeinated. Not all places have hot boba teas and it's perfect for a cold day. The store has a massive selection of cute goodies (plushies, purses, stationary, figurines, etc) and unique snacks too. It's located in Cary Court Park & Shop that has a parking lot.

This place is so cute. I love the atmosphere. It's fun and offers lots of special items that could be found in an authentic Asian market. Like not only milk teas, coffee boba, bags of chips and sodas (like ramune soda), but they also have really cute stuffed animals, figurines, and all kind of other cute trinkets! Today I got the brown sugar milk tea (which comes with boba) + added film on top, an earl grey macron, and a grape ramune soda. Tea was yummy! Not overly sweet, really loved the foam on top of it. Think I will try the coffee with Boba and foam next time, that looks really good as well. Highly recommend getting milk foam topper, it was especially delicious. The macron was not very impressive, and not worth $3, in my opinion. But the soda was good. And the lady behind the counter was very helpful and patient with me while I was trying to figure out what I wanted.

Kokee Tea is a small little tea shop in the middle of the bustling Cary town. They are always fast, efficient and respectful. Their bubble tea is decent. I always do the taro smoothie or milk tea, brown sugar milk tea or Thai tea. It definitely satisfies my bubble tea cravings. They have some really fun and unique flavors. I like to keep it simple.My last visit, I got the Thai tea which tasted a little off to me but couldn't pin point exactly what it was. Overall, I always have a great experience here! The flavors are usually great!

Stumbled upon this place while walking in Carytown the other week and since then, I've had it probably 7 or 8 times. They have a ton of drink choices as well as various bobas and jellies to add ins. They also sell macarons and cakes and lots and lots of cute merch. The shop is pretty tiny and has two stools inside, if you want to try and sit, but it's kinda cramped so I wouldn't recommend that since there's outside seating. It's tucked into the corner of Cary Court plaza. If you go in person the plaza can be HELL to park in, especially on Fri-Sun, so I've ordered on Doordash quite a few times too. I get the Oreo C&C and it's so creamy and delicious. My partner enjoys the Mango Passion Fruit. Docked one star with them bc the way their menu is set up, both in person and on Doordash. The first time I came, I ordered the mango passionfruit, which is clearly pictured with boba. So imagine my confusion when I received the drink and it didn't have any. This can be kinda misleading, especially for a first timer. Also, the Oreo C&C is listed as no caffeine but one of the times I got it, it definitely tasted like tea was added. Also, on doordash and uber eats, some of the drinks and add on options are not listed. Totally fixable though!

ILOVETHISPLACE!!! They have SoOoOoOo many options for Boba, Slushies, Shakes, popping Boba and snacks !!! This is my favorite place for the macarons !!! They have so many flavors !!! I wish I had taken more pictures but, every time I go I forget from all the excitement . I would 1000/100 recommend this place. They have a nice little area outside the front door to sit in. The only thing g that sucks is that it's hard to find parking in the lot in front of their store but, on the plus sides it's fun to park further away and walk and see all the art and cool things, stores and explore too. I love the atmosphere there and everyone's demeanor there. They're also so bubbly and happy and excited !!! They made our order daily quick even though the line was big. The people making the things sometimes turn to show you which is cool to see. I would honestly recommend to everyone.

I stumbled across this spot while exploring Carytown and was very happy to find a nice bubble tea spot. The interior is very cute and quaint with minimal seating. There are a variety of flavors, including signature flavors. We tried one of the signature drinks, the Dragon and Rose ($5.25), which was a rose tea with dragonfruit pieces. I also added some jelly to it. The tea was pretty good and very refreshing. I'm a fan of milk tea in the winter and fruity teas in the summer. This was a great fullbodied tea and the dragonfruit was a nice treat. Overall, it was an 8/10. This was a cute spot that we popped into as we explored Carytown. It was a nice little treat to drink as we walked along and took in the sights. If you're in the area and looking for a nice treat, I suggest popping into this spot!

Perfect spot for milk tea and then some! This is good for picking up and heading back out to peruse Carytown. There are tables outside if you want to sit and enjoy. The taro milk tea called Purple Love is soooo good!

PLEASE NOTE: The only reason why they haven't received five stars is only because I was there for a split second. Didn't really get to take it all in. I digress. So this place . . . THANK GOD! You don't know how badly I have been missing Tenn Tea in Memphis. I think I finally found a place that can fill the void. I went traditional my first visit just to see what was going on here . . . boy did they deliver. It wasn't too sweet but it also took care of my sweet tooth. I was good for the rest of the day (that is saying something lol). They had a good variety on the menu so I definitely want to come back. Only thing I don't know yet is if they have them more like a frosty texture. . . you know what I'm talking about. . . put the little tapioca balls at the bottom. . . blend the Thai tea in ice. . . yaaaasssss. SERVICE: The service was great and super quick. They were taking the necessary safety measures with masks. I didn't really interact much but they were hospitable. Besides. . . I'm a stranger and we are in a pandemic. . . they are probably saying in their heads with a smile, "keep it moving lady" lol. Don't worry you guys, I was wearing a mask too. Gotta keep the servers safe. I can't express enough how quick their service is. AMBIENCE: They are a small spot amongst the strip mall, but they set it up beautifully. Not many people are in there but they also don't have seating in there either so this is pick up and enjoy. Overall, I will definitely have to come back and try something else on their menu now that I see that they executed the safe option perfectly.

After a nice quick hike by the James River, my friends, wife, and I decided to scratch our bobba tea/slushie drink itch on a Sunday afternoon. I usually stick with the slushie when my wife usually sticks with the milk tea drinks. I asked for 75% sugar but I should have gotten to normal order to handle my sweet tooth. The place gets pretty busy but they were able to get our drinks done rather quickly and all customers were happy with their order.

I stopped at Kokee Tea while I was exploring Carytown in Richmond. I've tried other boba places but was my first time trying Kokee. This location was small so it had limited seating, but the decor and art was super cute. I decided to order the Brown Sugar milk tea and the Georgia on my Mind signature tea. The brown sugar milk tea was very sweet, I would compare it to the brown sugar latte at Starbucks. The brown sugar also melted nicely into the drink. The Georgia drink had a subtle peach flavor, so the fruity flavor wasn't too overpowering which I liked. The quantity of the drink is also well worth for the price and the drinks were served fairly quickly. Kokee also has some cool drinks like the Dalgona Brown Sugar and Dream of Butterfly drinks which I would try next. I think their menu offers a unique variety of fruity and milk teas that I haven't seen at other boba places. If you're into boba and haven't yet tried this place, I would recommend you do so because they really did feel like a hug in a cup :)

I got the wintermelon milk tea and while I could taste the wintermelon, I couldn't taste the tea. It tasted like sweet milk. Their boba was the most disappointing though. It was not sweetened with any honey or brown sugar and the boba was all clumped up together, making it hard to drink. For about $7, this is pretty pricey. I feel like I could get better milk tea boba elsewhere.

While I was in Richmond, I was really wanting some boba. I found this spot and so glad that I went! It's a cute little shop with lots of drink options, ice cream, and asian snacks and novelty items for sale. The drinks that were ordered was the Kokee milk tea and mango slush. Both had great flavor. The tea was strong throughout which I liked, and it wasn't too sweet. Also, the pearls were fresh and warm. The mango slush separated slightly but a good mix fixed that. The wait time wasn't too long either for both drinks and there were people before me. Overall, it was a great place to stop by and I'll definitely go back!

This place was SO great! The puffle pictured was actually my bfs, I had the chocolate lover which was nothing short of amazing! We had no idea they were about to close when we showed up, but they treated us so nicely and allowed us to sample a few things upon request. Looking forward to going back and trying the milk tea! The boba was amazing. Fresh, flavorful, and perfect size. Only downside is that it was a bit pricey for boba. But I would definitely recommend if you want some BOMB af boba and are willing to pay the slightly high prices. read more

Ordered boba with milk tea and the original puffy waffles, both were good. The waffle doesn't have any custard or Nutella, which was kind of disappointing since they price it at $3 for a fairly small cone and $6-7 for the ones with added ice cream. They had some interesting drinks that I would like to try next time! If you are a vcu student, this place is decent but not really worth the trip all the way to Cary town. If you are in the neighborhood then definitely hit this place up. read more

Note! They have moved further down the street from their original location - to the strip mall near Jean Jacques Bakery. My wife wanted to come here for their yummy bubble waffles! It did not disappoint. I'm usually floored by all the different dessert options. I guess I'll just have to come back to try something else. I had taro with lychee while the rest of the family had bubble waffles...usually it's too much for the kids to finish and i have to eat leftovers. I was full enough with my drink. ApplePay/contactless payments wasn't available yet but coming said the cashier. They use the Clover payment system and it was nice that the receipt was electronic instead of paper. My only mini-gripe was that I found the plastic wrap on the bubble straws a bit hard to unwrap...kind of like when one only naps a portion of masking tape. read more

Didn't try anything other than the puffle ice cream Cones but they were amazing!! Definitely pricey and the service is slow because of the time it takes to make the puffles, but worth it as a splurge and definitely worth the wait! I definitely plan on going back again soon. read more

Service: 1 Quality: 0 Value: 0 I hardly ever give a one star rating but my boba was SO BAD...SO SO BAD. I paid over $7 for watery milk. The tea was an afterthought. The only thing in my drink that had flavor were the bubbles, and even that wasn't great. They were stuck together and kept getting stuck in the straw. Sadly I didn't have time to go back so I ended up drinking half and throwing it away. Our server was also a robot. I dont remember exactly what it was, but I remember feeling like I was yelled at for not doing something first on the card reader. This wasn't a one time hiccup either. I've tried kokee tea in other cities and each visit was a disappointment. 3 strikes, you're out! read more

I've gotten boba here a handful of times and tried the waffle dessert they offered for Valentine's Day. The waffle itself was a bit dry but it looked colorful and fun and the ice cream and toppings were good. One dessert is enough to share for two! Boba wise, I've tried the house milk tea, tiger milk tea and mango passion fruit green tea. They were all good. They only offer one size and recently added a light bulb cup you can purchase for extra $ and keep to reuse. It's pretty neat to get one time for the novelty factor. Overall, this is a solid boba place so do stop by for your boba fix if you're in the Carytown area! There's definitely better access than other boba places around VCU where parking is a pain. I also like that it's surrounded by all the food places that Zzaamm added to their food court so it's a one stop shop for your eating and drinking needs. read more

Only two days open when I visited. They didn't have their full menu, and didn't have card payments yet, but the place has potential. I was just passing through coming back from the South, and stopped to get lunch next door at Zzaam. I got the coffee milk tea with coffee jelly. Not my fave, but it grew on me... like fungus I guess. Not sure what the bubble tea options are in the area, but this is solid for what it was. The other desserts are going to be the draw here. read more

This is my favorite boba spot in the area, hands down. They have one of the most extensive menus I've seen. Topping options include taro pudding and cherry blossom boba, which I haven't seen anywhere else. It's also none of few spots that adjusts the sweetness of your drink if you request it. The menu is always expanding with new drinks with flavors like dragonfruit, cold brew, and more. They also sell cloth masks, Korean snacks, and refrigerated drinks. Kpop is always playing and they are super nice. Plus, there's a loyalty card! 9 drinks and #10 is free. read more

I got a bubble waffle specials ($7), which are cheaper than the "make your own" option when you include toppings & such. It tasted as good as it looked, so super yummy! Everything tasted great, I loved the quality of the ice cream & batter for the waffles. The one I got was an Easter special, so I don't think they'll have it again any time soon, but the other specials looked good too. Only down side was how long it took to get them. I understand it takes a lot of work for one person though. Would give 4.5 out of 5 if I could, a really good place, just not perfect. read more

I've been to Zaam before but never Kokee tea, and haven't been in this area since they did the big expansion and added the brewery, poke & ramen place! It's definitely an underrated part with a fun atmosphere for Carytown. I got the Matcha Milk Tea with Boba and it was good! I'm used to a slightly sweeter tea, so I was pleasantly surprised that this wasn't very sweet but still flavorful. It comes in 1 size, and it's rather large, and it was around $5.50 for the tea. My friend got a strawberry passionfruit, and wow did that taste like some sort of juice. It was very good! But not very tea-forward. The reason for 4 stars and not five is because the A/C is BROKEN! Holy cow. It does not feel good inside on a 90 degree day. Get it fixed, people!!! Also, it makes me really uneasy to think that the A/C is broken when they have a Poke place and plenty of fish/meats out in the assembly line. Skkkeeettttchhhhyy. read more

Kokee Tea has the BEST BOBA in Richmond. I come here EVERY WEEK to get my usual order. :) The boba is freshly made and their drinks are ALWAYS well blended. In addition, the staff here is so kind and are always so welcoming! Everyone I've brought here have absolutely loved this place. I've had this place bookmarked for a few months and I finally got to try it today. I'll start with the good... The atmosphere is pretty awesome. It has a funky and fun hipster-ish vibe with a nice indoor/ outdoor area. As for the tea, I Iike that they have 4 sweetness levels to choose from. I ordered a mango passionfruit tea with passionfruit jelly and aloe vera. Unfortunately, they were out of passionfruit jelly, so I opted for the mango jelly instead. Sadly, I was pretty disappointed with the tea. It was quite bland and the jelly was the hardest jelly that I've ever had. I don't like to waste food or drinks, but there were a few times that I debated throwing this drink in the garbage. That definitely didn't sit too well with me being that it cost $6. Smh... But even with that said, I will give them one more chance. I would like to try their virgin mojito and their ice cream for sure. Hopefully they'll be able to earn another star from me. Kokee tea caught my eye while walking through carytown. I don't think it was here the last time I came and I have to say it is very appealing! Upon entering, we ordered and their customer service was great. They recommended flavors to us and didn't seem to rush us at all. Their menu had a pretty diverse selection of flavors and also had options for puffle ice cream and churros (which we didn't get to try unfortunately). I got a matcha Rose milk tea with almond milk subbed. Another thing I loved is that they have almond and coconut milk on hand for vegans or those who can't have dairy. Everything was *almost* perfect. The flavor of my tea was good. However, if I get boba, I expect my boba to be on a certain level. Not sure if this was a had batch but the bubbles were tough and broke apart in my mouth. They weren't squishy and soft like good quality boba I've had elsewhere. I thought it was just mine but my entire group encountered the same. It was upsetting for an almost $5 drink to lack quality in the part that ultimately"makes" the drink. Good vibes and good service but definitely wouldn't recommend their boba. Maybe try a different topping or their ice creams! read more

I went here at least a few times before I write my review. Out of all the places in richmond, this is my favorite tea place. I was so loyal to kung fu tea for so long, and I'm happy I found this place. Even though it's a 10 minute drive from vcu, I think it's worth it. Next time I'm defiantly going to try the ice cream. Definitely come here. All of the food/beverage is so unique and yummy. The tea place is connected to some other eateries which I really liked because it gave you options. The interior was also snazzy to say the least, I'd come again for sure. read more

My new fave boba spot in Richmond! Although small and kinda of cramped between the different food spots in that building, I was happily surprised at how much I enjoyed Kokee Tea. Both the puffle and the milk tea really satisfied my Asian dessert cravings! The flavors of their teas taste a lot more fresh than most boba shops, which is probably why I give Kokee tea 5 stars. Their puffles were also great and come with numerous topping combinations. I'm always tempted to get two desserts just for myself! Staff has always been friendly and each item is always made fresh. So many boba shops have been popping up in RVA recently and I was glad to have tried one of the best! read more

Too sweet even at 50% for any drink. The honey boba was good however the dalgona coffee foam was extremely bitter. The sweet foam for the green tea was nonexistent and undetectable. It was Jasmine flavored green tea that was very astringent. At $7 a boba drink you did get quite a lot of drink. read more

Wife and I have had some of their boba tea a few times and it has been great every time! Very smooth and flavorful, tons of choices and some great desserts on the menu as well. Their location is is a great spot in Carytown, housed with a little Korean food joint and a Japanese one too. So the location is awesome if anyone is looking for more substantial food as well. Perfect place for a cool desert. read more

Came here and got the Thai iced tea with boba (my go to bubble tea order). They only have one size (about the size of a standard medium) which was about $5.50; compared to other bubble tea shops this was a bit pricey. The tea itself also tasted quite watered down, and I wasn't given much boba. Not sure I would return, I think there are better bubble tea places in town. read more

Solid bubble tea, but the specialty drinks are pretty pricey and not convincingly worth the price tag. I thought I'd try the "cheese crema" since cheese-inspired flavors are currently all the rage in East Asia, but it was just ok. For 25% sugar, the drink was surprisingly still too sweet when compared to similar sugar-level orders at other joints. The tapioca pearls themselves were an 8 out of 10, quite good but maybe not the freshest. Still, I have hope that I might come back to try the brown sugar flavor, my absolute favorite and something I haven't seen elsewhere in the area. read more

Great place! Lots of varieties of drinks and the desserts were fantastic!!! Service was great as well. The place shares its space with other vendors, so my husband was able to go get a beer and get us raman for lunch without having to leave on area! We will definitely be returning! read more

It's $3 for a waffle is a fairly price but for adding an ice cream is additional $2.50 is kinda pricey consider only 1 scoop. The bubble tea is great compared to Kung Fu tea it's about the same. I love bubble tea. Customer service was great and the place is nice but so tiny. It's going to be crowded if more customers come in. I'm definitely going again to try more flavors of the tea and getting more waffles but not the ice cream. read more

One of the worst bubble tea places I've been to. Stopped by here based on the positive Yelp reviews and was so disappointed in both the brown sugar milk tea and coffee milk tea that we ordered. The boba was super chewy and just tasted off. The flavors of both drinks seemed strange too - can't tell if it's diluted or the taste combination is just so off. Definitely won't recommend especially for the price of it too! read more

I found out about this place on Instagram and I had to check it out. To my knowledge, there's nothing like it in my area. I love Richmond so I figured I'd drive up and check it out. The staff was friendly. They let me sample different teas. The puffle was amazing! The atmosphere was fun and laid back. Live music, board games available to play. The best boba place! Love that they have different milk options like soymilk :) haven't seen that at any other boba place which lets me try all the flavors! My favorite here is the tiger milk tea. During covid, they have you order on ur phone and then you can pick it up. There's a limit to the number of people that can be inside at one time to help reduce exposures. read more

I am completely disappointed with my last visit to Kokee Tea in CaryCourt on Cary St I happened upon this drink shop last week and loved it. Been there every day since, but today my drink was made incorrect. Did not taste like it did every other day this week. I asked for it to be remade. The owner came out, spoke with the barista who made it and proceeded to tell me that she forgot to add the sugar. I understand, mistakes happen, and i politely asked if she could just remake it. She said she would just add sugar and it would be fine. I again asked if it could be remade for me, the owner says (ill add sugar) and took my drink, added sugar and stired and handed back (its fine now) the own says. But this is not what i wanted. I wanted my boba drink the way it always was, with layers of different flavors! I would appreciate any suggestions of another local boba drink shop that i can start going to, because i will not be going back to that one after the way this placed provided customer service (or lack of i should say) read more

I don't understand how a place that advertises itself as a "bubble tea" shop can justify charging you extra for boba - the drink cost enough as it was! Apart from that, my cup was so full of ice, which I did not request, that it was evidently a way for this place to serve less of the actual drink. Very disappointing, and I won't be returning. read more

This is probably the most disappointed visit so far! I ordered Thai tea and this barista who was the only one working in the front. She gave me this drink. I've been ordering Thai Tea from a decent places to at least acknowledge that the color of Thai Tea is orange. She gave me this drink and I immediately asked her if this was my Thai Tea, she said yes. Then I asked her isn't Thai tea supposed to be orange, she then said yes but there's a layer of milk on top so... I don't think I'm coming back after this. read more

I've been to kokee many many times and they never disappoint! I've never had a bad tasting drink or puffle ice cream! The boba has the perfect chewy texture, and the puffles are always warm in contrast to the cold ice cream for the perfect bite! My personal favorite drink to get is the matcha milk tea with 50% sweetness and tapioca pearls. You should totally check it out! They're also being very safe and limiting the number of people in store. read more

This rating is solely for the bubble tea, we did not have the chance to try anything else. They have lots of different options for tea and smoothies. We tried the mango passion fruit, the strawberry, and a couple different milk teas. Everyone in our group liked their teas. The strawberry was very flavorful and refreshing. It seemed to have real strawberry in the syrup which was a nice unexpected touch. read more

I recently visited Kokee Tea and was blown away by the fruity tea selection. The tea was perfectly brewed and had just the right amount of sweetness. The atmosphere of the tea shop was cozy and inviting, with plenty of seating options and soothing music playing in the background.
