This is one of the best seafood and dim sum restaurant in the bar area . It was established in 2014 . People love to come here for wedding banquet because it is big enough to host many tables . My friend was hosting a Chinese New Year dinner banquet and they reserved the CNY menu for the year of the house . A private room and server was assigned to the group .There were 12 dishes with good blessings to the name of each dish . Then one seafood fried rice and 3 desserts at the end . 1) Whole suckling pig with crispy skin. ( this is the star of the dinner ) Koi Palace's signature dish 。乳豬全體 2) beef filet Hong Kong style 中式牛柳 3 braised bird's nest soup with crab meat and fish mew 蟹肉花膠燕窩羮 4) Peking Duck 5) braised abalone with dried oysters, black moss, and large dried scallops stew 鮑魚發財好市大瑤柱甫 6)Braised sea cucumber , goose webs & shiitake mushrooms 海參鵝掌炆冬菇 7)second portion of the suckling pig ( tender meat ) 乳豬二度,豬籠入水 8) poached pea sprouts , bamboo pith, goji berries in fish broth 魚湯杞子竹笙大豆苗 9)steamed imperial chicken 貴妃雞 10) lobster meat in egg white 白雪藏龍 11)steamed live grouper fish 清蒸石斑 12)crispy rice noodle with lobster 龍蝦肉煎米粉 13) yin yang fried rice( white sauce seafood & red sauce chicken ) 鴛鴦炒飯 14)red bean soup 15) water chestnut cake 馬蹄糕 16)Longevity lotus seed bun 壽包。

Visit this restaurant for dinner, I know here is famous for good service. Even though weekday evening, still see lots of people eat dinner. Order food for 7 people without over order, and portion is pretty good. Highlight is the Meat combo, both good presentation and taste. Soup is kind of disappoint because no taste. Pea vines also disappoint because vegi is too old. Overall satisfied

Whenever I have relative visit from Canada we will definitely have dimsum at Koi Palace, it's a ritual for my family. I have been coming here for years and this place is still popular likes the first time I ever dine-in here. Always so busy during their dimsum hours, wait time could take up to 1-1:30 hour on the weekend, so be prepared. Located on the 2nd floor of Milpitas Ulferts Center, you will need to take the escalator or elevator to reach the entrance. The hospitality and service here are all about speed and efficient, so make sure to order fast, eat fast, and leave fast lol. The restaurant itself is really spacious, very bright and clean, definitely suitable for big family and big group. People do wedding banquet here all the time. They also have live a seafood tank by the wall. Koi Palace food has been consistently good for years, my family always orders all the dimsum staple likes Hagao, Siumai, Xiaolongbao, Pork Ribs, Chicken Feets, Shrimp rice roll, and other side dishes. My favorite dimsum is the Chiu Chow Dumpling and Durian Puff, another item that I'm totally recommended is Hand Roasted Suckling Pig Slices from their BBQ section, literally the best roasted pork I ever had in the Bay Area. Koi Place definitely more on the expensive side of Cantonese food restaurant, but it came with great quality and fresh ingredients, totally worth it for special occasions likes family reunion in my case. The tea that they serve is good quality, I always go for Jasmine or Chrysanthemum to start my meal and clean my palette after. A great spot for dimsum, make me always looking forward for the next time my Canadian relative to visit.

Great restaurant. Have to wait in line but it worth the wait. Very authentic Dim Sum food. We enjoyed every bite. Their tea pot was cool too. Kept the tea warm. They had lots of choices. It was noisy inside but very typical for a Chinese dim sum restaurant. Felt like home to us.

Still thinking about their salt egg yolk dishes even weeks later. The rest of their dishes are just solid. But anything with salt egg yolk is GREAT. Service efficient. They will try to nudge you out of there if they're busy to help accommodate more customers and if they think you're not eating or ordering fast enough. It's not pushy though. Everyone knows that going in. Lots of tables. Ambiance casual

Still an overall favorite of ours! We came on a Sunday morning before it got packed and it was great! All of the food came out quick and hot! All of the dim sum was delicious! They make the best scallop egg fried rice and we never finish it because of the big portion but tastes good as leftovers! Always recommend using their red chili sauce, it is the best chili sauce and we love adding it to everything!

Dined here on New Year's Day with the fam and enjoyed an assortment of dim sum items. Good thing we came here early right when they opened, because this place does get busy. Ordered: Rainbow Sampler Shanghai Dumplings - more for aesthetic purposes since I couldn't really taste the difference; but nonetheless pretty solid dumplings with a good amount of filling. Crab Roe & Pork XLB - best eaten as soon as it hits the table. I couldn't really taste the crab roe, but nonetheless it was still pretty good. Chinese Broccoli with Oyster Sauce - can't go wrong with this item and it paired well with everything. It was cooked perfectly and had that nice crunch/bite to it. Honey Walnut Prawns - nice size shrimps that were well coated and had a great balance of mayo/sweetness. I also enjoyed the many candied walnuts on the dish. The walnuts alone were perfect to me. Fried Rice - it was my first time having fried rice that included tiny crunchy shrimps in it which added a nice texture to the overall dish. Shrimp Rice Roll - perfectly steamed and big shrimp pieces Fried Dough Stick Rice Roll - I would pass up on this item next time as it was my least favorite item ordered. The peanut sauce/oyster sauce did not pair well with the fried dough. It was an interesting combo that just didn't taste that great to me. Shrimp Ball - they had a pretty unique take on their shrimp ball as it's different from the typical shrimp balls. It's coated with like a red/white some sort of rice crispy which was unique and enjoyable. Overall service was ok and dishes came out promptly--but you do have to sometimes raise your hand and haul someone down for refills especially since it does get pretty busy. There are tons of tables, bar seating, and great for a small or big group.

We came for my friend's birthday. My other foodie friend from Hong Kong knows how to order fortunately for us. Everything was really good especially Shanghai 2 taste crab which was cooked with egg whites with the crab meat and then the legs are fried. Service was good. We just need to wave them down some times but usually they are proactive to change plates. They even gave us 2 free unique yummy desserts. They made the poles look flashy which gave it a modern twist. Bathrooms are clean which is a must for m

On the weekends; I call this place controlled chaos. Theres tons of people here waiting in line for the Hong Kong / Asian style dim sum. The dim sum is great and very flavorful. For me; the flavors were too strong but nonetheless; very authentic. I ordered the traditional plates and didn't sway too far from the norms. Place was clean for a high traffic Asian Resturant!

huge open dining area in a nice Asian themed shopping complex. We had a big group of 18 people on 2 tables and ordered a 10 course meal banquet. We loved the crispy tofu cubes appetizer; the walnut shrimp; Peking duck; stir fried beef cubes; stir fried pea sprouts. The service was very mechanical with little interaction with the wait staff. there was little to none personalized service, it was like a giant factory churning out dish after dish, no control of the flow of food, wait staff kept piling up the dishes, often request we empty partially cleared dishes or scrape them into smaller vessels to accommodate newcomers. Very noisy due to the crowd.

Koi Palace is one of our go to spots for traditional dim sum in the Milpitas area. We have been going here with either family or friends since back in the day. We were here once last year but before that It has been awhile when we last visited. We finally arrived for a Saturday lunch recently since we were in the area. The Chinese restaurant is located in a nice older plaza by the McCarthy Ranch in Milpitas. Parking is accessible in the large parking lot surrounding all around the plaza. The restaurant is large with plenty of tables that get filled up rather quickly during the weekend lunch rush hours. The modern Chinese decor is traditional and bright. Koi Palace is usually bustling during peak hours and has a nice family friendly vibe. Unfortunately there are no older Asian ladies pushing dim sum carts around though. We ordered jasmine tea, a glass of wine and about 7 dishes of dim sum, Har Gow, Shui Mai, Taro Puff, Juicy Pork Dumpling, Chive Shrimp Dumpling, and 2 orders of Shrimp Rice Roll. Everything is delicious and authentic as usual. My favorite is the Taro Puff and Juicy Pork Dumpling as they both were so tasty and flavorful. The service is usually accommodating and somewhat attentive. Overall we enjoyed our experience at Koi Palace. The food was good quality. Unfortunately the price point is in the higher end now for dim sum dishes. I also have a gripe that there was already an included service charge even for our table of 3. I am understanding for a service charge for 6 or more people in your party but I did not know that they implement this service charge for parties of less than 5 or 6 people now. We probably will not be back for a while once again.

My family had a nice lunch on Sunday. Weekends here are especially busy. We had reservations and preordered on of their various set menu. Deposit required. The service was excellent and very attentive as we were in a secluded side room away from the noisy main dining area. At first some of the family members were like, "why are we away from everybody else?" But in the end we all enjoyed that it was more quiet and intimate as we were celebrating a birthday. *Suckling Pig BBQ Combo Platter (4/5). Crispy skin on the tender meat. Delish! *Stir-Fried Scallops & Tender Beef Cubes w/ XO sauce (4/5). Overall, the dish was good. The beef was tender though not as tender as I was thinking. But that's just me. *Deep Fried Rice Crepe Rolls stuffed w/Shrimp Paste (4/5). The netting was crispy yet delicately and the shrimp paste was cooked perfectly. *Crab Meat & Bamboo Pith Soup (4/5). Reminded me of sharks fin but it wasn't. *Braised Abalone w/ Fish Maw (4/5). The Abalone was good. Personally, I enjoyed the fish Maw and mustard Greens more. *Shanghai Style Crab - 2 Taste (4/5). The first taste was the usual lightly deep-fried with salt, pepper & garlic. The second taste was crabmeat cooked with fluffy egg white topped with a liquefied egg yolk. *Hand Roasted Crispy Chicken (3.5/5). No frills. It was good but nothing special. *King Neptune Seafood Fried Rice w/Gravy (3/5). This was ok. *Catch of the Day (Sea Bass 5/5). The fish was nicely steamed and flaky with no too many tiny bones. The soy sauce/oil is what you'd expect in a good tasting steamed fish dish with the aromatics. *Black Sesame Dessert (4/5). This was a pleasant change. We all were expecting red bean but they did not have it and brought this out. *Custard Buns (3.5/5). Nice and hot just coming off the steamer. Good! Unfortunately, I didn't catch the server's name but he provided excellent service like I said. But also gave a bowl of grass jelly dessert to replace the black sesame because somebody in our party has a nut allergy. We had a great time together and celebrated some family events.

My review is based on the banquet service. The place is cleaned and well organized. The fresh seafood display is upfront towards the entrance and front staff to escort to designated area. Banquet area is partioned with drapes to separate other guests. Food- overall it was well seasoned or very light depending on the dish. There were many more dishes that I didn't get a chance to take pictures as it was coming out quickly. Service-quick attention to detail and cleanup of tables full of dishes as each course was delivered out.

While the service was acceptable, the food quality was extremely disappointing and far below what you would expect from a high-end Chinese restaurant. The banquet had been reserved in advance, yet the restaurant still claimed that the double-boiled soup was not prepared and replaced it with fish maw soup instead. The biggest issue was that the soup was bland and tasteless. The rest of the dishes were also below standard, and we ended up leaving a lot of food unfinished. Considering the bill was around $2,000 including tips and tax, it was definitely not worth the price.

Another standout for me is the steamed spareribs with black bean and taro. The spareribs are tender and flavorful, and the black bean sauce adds a savory depth without overpowering the dish. Service continues to be efficient and well-organized, even when busy. One thing I noticed is that the restaurant is especially popular with elderly customers, which honestly says a lot about the food being comforting, traditional, and consistent. For something heartier, the Wonton Noodle Soup features a very clean, savory broth and snap-to-the-bite noodles.
