Bait and switch company. Ordered more than 600.00 online and promised huge discounts and free shipping. Wasted a lot of time placing this order only to find out the next day that they had cancelled the order without any explanation. Called their customer service and talked to 2 people ...non English speaking so you can hardly understand them just to be told I would have to reorder because one or 2 items they no longer had. You would think like every other online ordering company they would adjust your pricing and notify you of the items they could not fulfill or back ordered items...They did not, their practice is to cancel the whole order out and make you waste time to try to reorder all the items. These items are no longer on sale and they will not honor the sale price you had initially purchased them for. Some of the items of which are double the price you was GOING to buy at...Don't be mislead, after doing research I found they have been scamming people in this way for along time. I truly hope they go under just because they are such a deceptive company. Do NOT reorder items over phone, they will try to charge you double price and not honor sales. Second Kohls I've ever been to in my life, and most probably the last. I thought that in Irvine, maybe it would be nice. Nope, feels like a low-quality JCP. Went for the sole purpose of buying my son shoes. I only saw one employee in that department the entire 30 minutes we were there, and she was shopping with a friend for themselves. Not only did she not even acknowledge us, I had to ask her to move twice so we could get past her in the narrow aisles. Prices are a joke for the quality. Finally found a pair of shoes that were marked down to $50 from $85 that will maybe last a couple of months. Clothing in the older boys department is lower quality than Target, and not in trend Will not be back. read more

Only the clearance rack is worthed to buy. The clerks were talking even though the line was extremely long. They didn't care. And if u find some something with a nice price, some clerk will give u a bad attitude and refuse u to check out saying u r not qualified to apply the discount. And when u asking the clerk for her name, she will also refuse to give u her name. Later, u will see the clerk keeps item item for herself and buys it when u walk away. read more

Kohl's Irvine Kohl's as a company was a good discovery by me. I am not really into alot of shopping...as a guy (as most guys). I used to like Mervin's, but obviously they closed. Kohl's' helped to fill in a clothing gap for me. There is alot of clothes to choose from, at decent prices (overall), plus they have regular sales. In addition they have other departments, so Kohl's is also good for general home shopping. I used to go to either this Kohl's, or the Tustin one when I lived in Tustin Ranch. Compared to Tustin, this location is cleaner, and tends to have more things in stock. Like many department stores for some years now, this location tends to have alot of clearance. Too much clearance for me. I am sure for those clearance piranha's, they would love that, but when clearance racks take away too much room from normal product...that is not good. The general location is ok, and the parking is pretty decent. It is normally not very hard to get a reasonable spot out front. Facing the building, there are 2 front doors. Inside each door, there are checkout lanes (remember this info later in the review). This store tends to be reasonably clean, in general, but the shoe section tends to range from fairly scant in some areas, to thrashed and under stocked. You *may want to stay on that better. That's all I have left to say about the condition of the store. Kohl's receipts tend to have the big thing that says HOW MUCH MONEY YOU SAVED. Do you think we are idiots? Any experienced human being knows department stores mark their "Regular" prices way up, just to mark them down. Stop trying to show us how much we "saved." Nevertheless, there *are some good deals here. Just know what you are doing. Yesterday afternoon I was at the left side (from the front) registers. There we 2 cashiers. A girl on the left, and a guy on the right. There was only one customer in the guys line, so I got in that line. It took him a little while to get through that customer, even though they didn't have too much. His attitude was one of an employee that is bored with his job. He moved slow, and just sucked energy out of the air. He also Completely Ignored Me for the *entire time he was helping the other customer. Its like he had blinders on. I gave up on that guy. He needs to learn Customer Service 101. You ACKNOWLEDGE the waiting customer! Knowing Kohl's, I *knew there would be more checkout counters somewhere. I proceeded to go to the counters on the right side, and there were 4 cashiers there. A little uneven on the cashiers?? The cashier I got on that side did just fine. I also think I should mention they need to back off their attempts to get us to get a credit card. They have been doing it for years, and I hate it. In general, this location is ok. Pretty great and convenient as always. Found everything I was looking for and for this location the staff was super helpful when tracking down departments that had the gifts I needed for a big party. My only complaint at this store is that they reserve too many of the parking spots up front for different purposes...the fact that all those spots are ALWAYS empty when I go there indicates that it's just too many wasted prime parking spaces. I dislike this store these days, because, for the past several years the clothes in this store look like you picked them out of grandmas 70's attic, or possibly pulled them from a donation bin. This is another one of those places that I pass by and never bothered walking in. I see their ads every single Sunday in the Register but I don't like the fact that they don't advertise the price. They only say how many percent discount is given. I need to know what price are they discounting off from! Anyways, I finally went in yesterday at 730am because my mom was in town. Well, what do you know, it was sales tax free day! That's almost 10% off right away, I was wide awake! Then mom showed me the 20% off whole purchase coupon she got from her neighbor. The damage (or savings): a pair of Avia running shoes $59 to $29 two pairs of Nikes for the kids $70 to $40 for both two apt. 9 tees with embroidered beads $30 to $14.99 each four embroidered linen blouse for mom $89 to $24 for ALL FOUR one Star wars tee and one Super Mario tee for my cousin $20 to $9 each two 6-pack Nike socks for hubby $32 to $17 four Bali bras for mom (and her neighbor apparently.... I wonder will I do that when I get to my mom's age.... doubtful) $100 to $60 four mix and match Towel sets from Laura Ashely and Simply Vera Wang roughly $150 to $65 three 5 x 7 fetco brass picture frames $19.99 to $8.49 each and mom picked up some mix and match place mats for 99 cents each for the senior center she volunteered at. Yes, some of the clothing do not have the best quality, you need to be a smart shopper, e.g. some bath towels were $2.79 each but they were very thin and rough and were not flying off the shelf. some tees are kinda misshaped already even they were still on the hangers ($5). OK, now get this, all the above prices have NO discounts applied to YET! And mom decided to apply for the Kohl's credit card to get the extra 20% off. The review I'm about to write pertains to a horrible incident my wife and kids had to endure at this Kohl's location last year. My wife along with my two kids went for shopping at Kohl's last year. They were looking at some merchandize and instead of putting it back on the same rack she put it at some other location. As they were walking out of the store, after purchasing a few items, two Kohl's employees from their loss prevention dept. showed up outside the store and started harassing my wife. They demanded that she produce the purse that she stole! My wife was dumbfounded as she had no clue what they were talking about. She initially thought that she's being mugged as these two guys had no Kohl's badge or identification on them. These people escorted my wife and kids to a room inside the dept. store and started barraging her with rude and insulting questions about producing the stolen merchandize. My wife was completely innocent of this accusation so she told them to search the stroller and the bags she was carrying. After conducting their search they couldn't find anything and they let her go without even an apology. I think they were looking for the handbag that she had picked up but returned at a different location within the store. As they couldn't find it, they assumed that she had stolen it. This is some serious leap of judgment. I went to the store and talked with the store manager who said that they'll look into this matter and referred me to their loss prevention manager at their Huntington Beach store. We also contacted them but after more than a year have yet to receive any kind of apology. Needless to say that we'll not be going to Kohl's ever again. I don't like to write negative reviews about businesses but often times these businesses cross the line and act in completely arrogant and irresponsible manner. read more

I go to Kohls on Presidents Day expecting good deals and although the parking lot was only half full there were no shopping carts available. None. WTF? I went to Kohl's web sit to see if I could file this complaint directly to their management, and though they have an extensive site there was no place to write the complaint, so figured I would do it here. I was in this Kohls to purchasing something that was on clearance before I wouldn't be able to find it anymore. There were two cashiers and a long line. After 8 minutes standing in line where one line was moving and the other wasn't, we all started to take notice. The Indian woman that was cashiering in the line that wasn't was aggressively selling someone on purchasing a Kohl's credit card. Everyone but one couple in line took notice and we started talking about how exceptionally long this was taking. The follow-up questions seemed endless, and appeared to be solicited by the cashier. There was clearly no sense of urgency on her part in getting to the other people in line, which was growing by the minute. The time she took was ridiculous, and included a segment where the customer used a touch screen where she apparently did a portion of the registration electronically! Someone in the line made the comment that it would be humorous if she weren't the one waiting so long in line. When I got up to her counter she of course asked me if I had a Kohls charge, then asked if I wanted one. On her 3rd attempt to sell me on the card I lost it and told her again, No, and added that I didn't want to be inconsiderate to the now very long line of people waiting for her services while she sells me a Kohls card. She obviously has been told this before and quickly replied, "it is our job sir." And you know what, I understand this. I still believe she took far too long negotiating with this customer we were all waiting for (again, there was no sense of facilitating getting her processed, and in fact seemed to enjoy the extended conversation with the customer). I put the larger blame on Kohls the company for not training their employees in brevity when doing this process. I've been to supermarkets and other department stores that have people processed in and out in very little time....certainly not exceeding 10 minutes! Additionally, if you are going to demand your employees assert signing up for these cards and force them through a ridiculously lengthily process, then you need to either have someone in a booth on the side to hand the customer off to, maybe have more than two cashiers on duty (especially on a holiday weekend)....I don't know, this is your core competency not mine - I just know it doesn't take even half as long at other businesses that do the same freaking thing. I don't know, Kohls management may be reading this thinking "that's great, glad to hear our employees are signing up those customers for our cards so we can make more money....this is a great review". I hope you aren't that shallow or you will lose more customers than just me. I can tell you on this day, you didn't impress the many other people that were standing in that line today watching this. read more

So came here to get some clothes. Now my dogs were with me and I know before they were cool with my dogs coming in. I went in put my terrier in a baby cart and my yorkie over my shoulder. Neither barked or anything in fact they let people pet them. As I waited in line I know the lady before me complained about me so I just gave her the ol state down. What pissed me off was how the cashier acted. Cold and annoyed. Her name is Malini, older lady. I felt so crappy I wanted to get out and run but then o thought maybe it her personality till the customer after me she was all cheerful and sweet. I got mad so I talked to the manager Kimberly. Now Kimberly is a real professional, I apologized several times about me bringing my dogs in because it was too hot and she just smiled and said everything was okay. I felt better after and complimented an employee in women's but told her about Malini. She gave me 10 dollars off my purchase to make up for it and welcomed me back. This was the first time I had purchased anything from this store. I will never go back again. I had to go to 3 different departments to return/exchange my items. They had 1 register open and a group of employees lounging around in the shoe/kitchen areas. When I finally got to the register, the woman said she had a coupon for a discount and asked for my ID. I asked her why she needed my ID for the coupon and she said it was for the Kohls credit card. Wtf? Why say it is a coupon when really you are signing up for their credit card? I would have understood if she said "If you sign up with our credit card, you can get an additional discount" but no. She scanned my items with the credit card discount automatically and when I said I did not want the credit card, it changed to the higher amount. After a bad experience at our local Kohl's my fiance and I tried this location out. We had created a wedding registry online and were excited to go to the store to start scanning.The first person I spoke to at customer service didn't know anything about the registry either. She called for a manager who came and assisted us. The manager seemed nice. There was a registry kiosk behind us that she had us sign into. It was old and dirty and the mgr didn't know how to work it. She then pulled out the scanners and they were extremely dusty.But then she discovered that the scanners did not work. My fiance and I decided to walk around and write down stuff that we wanted instead which lasted maybe five minutes. The store was very messing. It looked like a Kohl's discount store if those even exist. The shelves were all disorderly and a lot of items were scattered on the floor. A lot of the furniture we saw out on display was broken. read more

Nearly walked out of the store twice today. I think it's very disrespectful to their customers to be so chronically short of carts that they are almost always completely out of them. Nearly impossible to shop with a toddler in tow and no cart to pop them in. Only a near-heroic oddyssey of a cart search on the part of one of the store managers kept me from walking out that first time - I was about 30 seconds from doing so when she found one. The second near walkout is too complex to bother explaining except to say that two cashiers acted like something fairly straightforward was simply beyond them and I had to take my transaction over to customer service. I almost set my merchandise down and walked out - I was still hopping mad over the cart thing, over it with my toddler, and not in the mood to extend my stay in the store. Then I asked a passing manager, who was shocked that they couldn't comprehend such a simple thing. He helped check me out himself, and thus saved my $70+ transaction. But I plan to use up my Kohl's cash online and will likely not step foot in that store again this holiday season. If "Monday afternoon" is too much business for the store to handle, then they sure as hell aren't ready to deal with a Christmas rush - in spite of corporate's mandates to have Christmas decor completely installed BY Halloween each year. I've got a better idea - get ready for the holidays by retraining your staff and GETTING MORE FREAKING CARTS in your stores. Decorations can wait until after Halloween. Your customers will thank you (no really, they will). read more

Clothing reasonable, sales great. The layout in this store is so much better than the one in Tustin, as is the service and checkout.

The clothing selection here is okay and I found what I was looking for, which was a pair of shoes for my son. Well, the problem started when we got to the checkout line. First the line took so long that I almost left. We were in the men's department section. The indian lady with the braid took forever ringing up a customer and harassing them to get the kohls credit. The customer said No a couple of times . She would not stop and pointed out how wrong the customer was and explained how the kohls credit is the best fucking thing in the world. Finally another cashier came to help the line. I was glad she came and I didn't need to put up with the other lady. Well this cashier was really nice and professional. The problem started when the other indian lady started trying to have a conversation with my cashier in their language. My cashier acknowledged the other lady's comments and told her in English to tell her later. I was thankful for that. Well we got to the point where my cashier asks for me to apply for the kohls credit. She made her pitch. It was nice and all and I said thank you but no thank you...she pressed me a little bit but I just laughed and said no I'm not interested. She said okay and continued on with the transaction. Well the other Indian lady interrupted once again and started telling my cashier and I what other goodies I could get with the card which was crap like I could pay my bill in store and there was no charge for opening one and then she said it's not a credit card. I stopped and asked again, it's not a credit card. The Indian lady said no it's not. My cashier look worried and I asked her and she looked at the other cashier and then at me and said ," I'm pretty definite it is a credit card without annual charges". I said okay just finish up. The cashier printed the receipt and circled the receipt and said have a great day. I was really pleased with my cashier, think her name was Kimi-- she wore glasses? Im not sure, sorry. Think she was one of the newer employees...anyway she was really great but the other cashier was really was horrible. Her interruptions were unnecessary and extremely rude. And she is Lying to customers and saying the kohls card is not a credit card when it is, that is illegal!!!! I want her out of there...but every time I go in, she is always working there...harassing someone else. Such a shame. I bet they don't let her go because she gets them lots of credit. read more

This store is by far the worst store i've ever gone to. their customer service is just horrible!!!!!!!! i've been a kohl's customer for over 5 yrs and have shopped at many different locations but i've never experienced customer service like this. i waited over 30 minutes in the customer service line to make a simple exchange on one item. the lady at the register was too busy arguing with another customer over a 10 coupon. it went on...on....on..on...on...and on ....for over 30 minutes. she did not even bother to help the next person is line who was me or call for back-up support. it was as if i was invisible!!! it makes you wonder what kind of training these people get upon hire. it doesn't take much brains to figure out that you should keep the line moving and help the next person if you can not help the first person!!! the manager she finally called was of no help either. after waiting over 30 minutes, i was still standing there watching both of them arguing with the same customer!!! freakin amazing!!!! do these people even have a high school education??? don't shop here....it is by far the worst store ever!!! read more

Worst Kohls I have ever been to. Had couple of bad experiences here listing one of the most striking. I was emailed a $10 gift certificate by Kohls.com for signing up for paperless. I went to this store to redeem on 12/9/2013 evening. The cashier scanned this and suddenly their system went down!!! So she restarted and took me to another register. Again she scans all my items and the gift certi. and again their system went down!!! So another cashier takes me to another register and their system goes down!!! Now their manager comes and tries it. Same thing!! Now this guy asks me humiliating question like where I got this, I tell him that your stupid Kohls.com sent me (stupid I only said in my mind) Now this manager doesn't care of the time lost already half hour gone, he calls customer service and again keeps going from register to register. Finally someone from customer service tells him to redeem it just like a regular coupon and I sigh in relief. Was this really worth the time spent. All Kohls prices are anyways fake prices.
