Yuk gae jang (spicy beef soup)
    Jeff K.

This place is pretty interesting. It's inside of a deli in the back and they serve Korean comfort food. It didn't sound like a place that would have good Korean food, but it actually does. It's definitely no frills though. There's some seating, but it isn't plentiful. The prices are pretty reasonable for midtown Manhattan. I tried the yuk gae jang (spicy beef soup). It was actually pretty good. It wasn't spicy and the broth was flavorful. There were other different dishes on the menu, I'd like to try. Will be back in the future.

We are tourists and wanted some affordable but good Korean food. Kofoo is a little gem in this busy city. Amazing flavours and so fresh! Like my grand mother just cooked me a home cooked meal. Good portions and very affordable.

Food tastes like a meal from your grandma or homey vibes if I had to explain it. It's a very casual spot. The shop is located inside a bunch of other stalls. There's very limited seating, so take out is ideal if you're close by. Theres no bathrooms here either. The kimbap and soups are SO fantastic. I crave it. I felt like the portion for the squid was very little, but the flavor was so good. Duk bok ki was ok - I wouldn't say it's the best, but the omlete rice, kimbap, and yuk gae Jang was just so good. Soups are in bowls bigger than your head, and it comes with a side of rice as well. It's definitely a hole in the wall, and the owner running is very kind.

I visited this spot right after work and the Wild Mushroom Kimbob tasted delicious! Very kind staff and it's got a deli like sit down area. Very great deals on the price as well and look forward to returning!

Came here for a weekday lunch. The place is slightly hidden as it is shared with a deli. Grabbed a to goo order of my usual go to army soup. Was a tad annoyed of having to wait about 10 minutes to get my food as I had called earlier. Nevertheless I eventually got my pipping hot army soup and took it back to eat in the office. The soup cost less than $13 - comes with a fulll tub of the soup, small kimchi and also some rice. Not bad at all. Pay cash if you are spending more than $20 as you get a 5% discount.

Very good food packed with lots of flavors and spices. The pork was very tender. A good choice if you're tired of eating the same things all the time. Food arrived hot and fast.

What a gem. Friendly service and delicious kimbap! I ordered 2 sets - bulgogi and kimchi. Both were good but I'd say the kimchi had more flavor! Nice place to stop by, grab some quality food to go and enjoy a nice afternoon sitting at one of the tables near flatiron.

Convience-store quality food at a reasonable price with all-day delivery in the neighborhood. Kimbap are pretty solid for the price, anything dumpling-like isn't so hot. Stews also not bad. I wouldn't exactly recommend this place if you want to sit down for a meal, but if you want to grab something quick and be done in fifteen minutes, this isn't a bad choice.

Hope it's good! Trying it out and posting menu first. It's a lot more than expected at the register. and they did not give cash discount as promised by a notice on their register.

What a meal set! Yuk Gae Jang + Kimchi Kimbap!

Review for their take-out eats: You know the drill, it's lunch time, you have no craving but wanted something warm and perhaps soupy... help me Yelp! Quick search, lands me here at KoFoo, a multi station (sandwiches + Korean stews). Reviews were half way decent for the Korean eats; so why not? I got one of my favorite Korean stews, Yuk Gae Jang! (Spicy shredded beef with tons of veggies!). And of course since they also offers Kim Baps - I order a kimchi one! Yuk Gae Jang was good, lots of flavor, isn't it the best quality beef? Nope. But I knew that. Overall taste was on par with other "Korean deli" that makes stews. It satisfied my need for something warm + soupy. Kim baps - kimchi had no flavor. Sadly this one was a disappointment, probably wouldn't recommend it. The rice used was very soggy, and didn't taste fresh. It's a big portion for $7...almost like 2 rolls. I would order the stew again, just the stew. ;)

Love casual spots like this that offer affordable yet wholehearted meals. Loved coming here as a student and will keep coming back when I'm in the area! Their kimbap are so good and love to get it with a bag of chips from the deli that's in the same space.

This place is no frills, staff very friendly. We ordered at the counter for lunch. The S-4 daen jang jigae and S-6 kalbi tang had flavorful broth. I had been looking for daen jang jigae for a while now since my recent korea vacation, this one hits the spot and has huge portions. Twice the size of the usual hot stone bowls at BCD Tofuhouse and definitely more affordable. I added rice cakes in mine but they came out more soggy and broken in pieces than chewy, I'll just skip that next time. Soups also come with a side of rice and kimchi. Kimchi wasn't as fermented or strong as I expected and I didn't like that, so I dumped it all into my daen jang jigae soup (nice pairing tbh). Would come back to try other items on the menu!

S-3 kimchi ji gae soup $10.50

We ducked here to grab some nourishment before I became to hangry. Ordering takes place at the counter then grab a table. I had a 1/2 bowl of their "famous chicken soup" and 1/2 pastrami sandwich. Had good flavor and was enough to warm me up on this brisk morning. My niece did a bagel, and after trying all week she finally got one exactly how she wanted it made. We ate and chilled for a bit, no plans for the day other than making it to the airport to go home. Was able to people watch and catch up without feeling rushed to leave. Saw locals come through, so you know it is a place worth stopping. The staff were nice and even apologized for not being able to give me the soup I wanted in a half order. Though things can often get overlooked and passed by in the hustle and bustle of the city...stop in and relax while you grab a bite to eat.

Date of visit: April 14, 2026…read more Our friend wanted to go to a real New York deli during her first trip to the city and this is the one in the vicinity of Times Square and our evening show that was the highest rated according to my fellow Yelpers, but I am not quite sure why based on our experience. Things did start out great, with Boudjema being very friendly and helpful as we placed our order. And once we got seated, we were able to fully appreciate the vibe, both in the primarily 70s playlist, but also the mirror and brass touches across the restaurant. Food-wise, however, there were some definite opportunities. My Roasted Turkey sandwich did come on quite possibly the best rye bread I have ever had, warm and flavorful. But while the gravy was also good, the turkey was cold. This odd temperature mismatch made it hard to appreciate the generous portion of meat on the sandwich. We also ordered some tater tots and those were quite good. While it definitely could have been worse--and I've had worse in New York City--this also could have been so much better.
