Four stars for the food. The squid legs and deep fried branzino (PlaTod) are delicious but the glass noodle with seafood (crab meat and River prawns) is disappointing. The prawn is not fresh. The service is just ok (3 stars) and barely two stars for the ambiance. The restaurant is very dark with loud noise

Ambiance - decor is very brand like and nice. Tables are spaced out, so it is very roomy and spacious. Service - we were for lunch special, wasn't too many tables, staff was available when needed. Food - it was okay. The lunch special was $12 - not bad, but portion was not big.

THIS PLACE IS SOOOO GOOD!!!! The service was top notch and extremely efficient. Never an empty glass. The inside is super cool and vibey. The food was UNREAL. The taste never lacked in any dish. The fried gyoza (ik it's a basic order) was unreal. My dad actually couldn't stop eating the sour pork crispy rice salad too .. super not his normal order. Not a single dish was bad and the cocktails are a MUST!

Very impressed by the hospitality. Came as a group of 6 and our server immediately provided in-depth descriptions and combination suggestions to fill our table spread. And every dish is amazing! Love the garnishing and sauces. Wish the serving sizes were bigger--but the quality makes up for that. We ordered the Phuket pitcher, which reminds me of a Long Island, and highly recommend it. Strong and a great drink to share.

Sangria pitcher is a steal! The happy hour seems to last the entire time the restaurant is open-Ha! Definitely a place to get cheap drinks while eating though I can't promise they will be your favorite. Menu is small. Thai food is pretty good and there were some unique options. I wasn't blown away by any of the flavors and I was thrown off by the use of unexpected ingredients in familiar dishes.

Food was just okay, but honestly what more can you expect from a $12 lunch deal. It comes with an app, a soup/salad, and a main. Like, you're definitely getting bang for your buck, so I can't complain. I thought the spring rolls were lovely and crispy, and I ordered the peanut sauce chicken. It was good enough, but I think I was just hoping for the sauce to be more integrated with the chicken and the broccoli. The way it was served was that it was literally just boiled chicken and broccoli with a heaping of peanut sauce on top. The sauce was yummy, just wasn't exactly the most appetizing or the best peanut chicken I've had. But if you're looking for a good deal for lunch, you can't really go wrong here.

Crispy Mango Fish & Ka-Pi Fried Rice

Came here for dinner with some others, I split the Crispy Mango Fish & Ka-Pi Fried Rice with my partner. The fish comes with a good amount of fish and true to the name with a nice crisp. The fish was nice and moist, and the mango salad really helped to cut the oiliness of the fish--making for a mouth watering combination. The fried rice probably makes my list of top 3 fried rices I've had. The lap chung is cut into small pieces that add a nice chew to each mouthful. The Thai chili's are pretty spicy, but you can easily move them to the side if you have mild-medium spice tolerance only like me. The table shared a pitcher of the Phuket, where the pineapple flavor really helped to mask/balance out the alcohol. I don't usually drink very much, but I finished out a whole glass! Very refreshing drink that goes well with the food/adds a nice tropical note to the meal. Lighting is pretty dim here, but they really set a chill mood with candles (see picture). The servers were very attentive, and kept the water glasses filled to the brim.

Very unique thai food. Ive been to this restaurant twice and each time I've had something different. Their take on thai food is different from your average restaurant. Their pad thai uses a different type of noodle which is thinner. The Ka-Pi fried rice was such a unique dish, its use of fish paste is definitely an acquired taste, and had a very delicious mix of ingredients. I also had a curry that I couldnt remember the name of -- it had blood cubes, a chicken drumstick, and eggplant. That dish was delicious but incredibly spicy, be warned.

To my NYC friend that too me here...I am so sorry but this place was just ok. I paid $30 with tax and INCLUDED gratuity for pad see ew and thai tea. They auto add 20% gratuity on every check I guess because my party only had 2 people. The thai tea was good, I would be impressed if they managed to mess that up lol. But the pad see ew was SUPER salty and oily. The first few bites were okay but then it got unbearably salty. The meat was also chewy and hard to eat. Ambiance and service was nice. I can see why people just come here to drink the alcohol pitchers.

The food is honestly kind of mid, but you come here for the vibes and good deals, not a Michelin star meal. They have good deals on pitchers and the drinks taste a bit too dangerously good, if you know what i mean. The servers are super friendly as well and Klong is always a fun time with friends!

4.5 stars bc why did i love this place? Reviews put it at a very mid rating, but i had a very enjoyable meals here. We got the pad thai and the curry and both were actually very very good. We got a lychee pitcher and it was suuuuper tasty. Great price point too. It definitely brings the nearby nyu students, but i can see why. Good food, cheap drinks, good ambiance. Very cute and dim lit, but was lively enough to go about our conversation in a casual setting. Service was very attentive and informative. Definitely will be back here, what a hidden gem.

SUPER VALUE lunch special!! Only $12 for soup, appetizer, and main meal :)) Very value, tasty crispy spring roll with quality filling, and yummy veggie soup, what a good lunch deal, pad see ew also super flavorful and noodles had such nice chewy soft texture. Not gonna lie tho, even though I was very solidly full, my friends got the stir fry entree and curry entrees and those looked bigger in portion and also tasty. Would come again and try another entree! Ambiance was super nice and inside was dark wooden/metal w cool vibes Service also very nice, refilled water pretty often haha

They don't. Just show up.

Recently went and believe prices are a solid $6 for most drinks now from $3 I believe. Not sure if that's happy hour or the standard now.

Thai Mango Surprise- This has a vodka base. You get mango puree, sticky rice syrup, coconut milk and coconut cream. It's like a drink version of the dessert, very tasty! Massaman Curry- We got this with beef which was cooked perfectly tender. The sauce is sweet with a hint of spice and made creamy with coconut milk. Potatoes and peanuts add bulk to the dish. Not all midtown restaurants stay open past 10, and I was relieved to find their kitchen going strong at that hour, as well as their dining space, which was full. Turned out it was for good reason because their food was delicious. My friend and I were hoping to eat at a restaurant nearby specializing in crab, but they closed much earlier. Fortunately for us, SaiTong's menu had plenty of crab on it, and we decided to double up and make each of our entree's a crab one. The black spaghetti crab curry and crab curry noodles advertised themselves as being very different dishes in both presentation and ingredients but ended up tasting kind of similar. One was topped with deep fried crab and used a different type of noodle than the other, but the sauces were so similar. This is not to say that they didn't taste good, but I would've preferred more variance. I'm glad we got an order of papaya salad to cut the richness of the other dishes, and I also appreciated it had a nice level of heat in it. Our servers were really friendly without being overbearing, and let us linger for a bit even after we paid the bill, as it was their last seating for the evening. There are so many excellent Thai restaurants in the city and I'd put SaiTong firmly in the category of perfectly solid spots to get your Thai fix, with some special dishes on the chef's menu worth checking out.

However, when I got to the restaurant, I was told that they were not participating. Both of us were starving, and I had put in a birthday request at the restaurant, so we decided to stay. The ambiance is classy, and this would be a great spot for a business dinner or date night. I ordered a massaman curry with roti and chicken ($29), and my friend ordered the chuchi shrimp ($30) and curry puff ($16). Prices are a bit above average for the portion size, but justified by the area. We both enjoyed our dishes; the flavors were on point! Then, for my friend's birthday, they gave us mochi ice cream and a card signed by the staff! That was a nice touch that overrode the restaurant week debacle. Service was fantastic. There were multiple check backs and water refills. I would recommend Sabai Thai for a fancy night out, and I would return to try other dishes.

As a Thai person myself and as indicated on their menu, it's the way most Thais eat this dish :) The fried egg added that rich, runny element that really brings everything together. The veggies were nicely sautéed, fresh and still crisp, and there was a good amount of ground pork, so the dish felt hearty and satisfying rather than rice-heavy. Overall, the flavors were solid and comforting, though I personally found it just a touch sweeter than I prefer for pad kra pow. Even so, it definitely hit the spot and was very satisfying for a late-night craving. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the experience pleasant overall. One thing to keep in mind though is timing - if you're dining closer to closing, you may feel a bit rushed toward the end of your meal. All in all, a solid option for Thai food!
