I was so impressed with the ratings that I was eagerly wanting to try it...was definitely disappointed; maybe I'm comparing to more authentic restaurants in the Garden Grove/Westminster. Ordered their pho, egg rolls, and shaken beef, the beef was very little compare to the abundance veggies. The pho broth was merely MSG and our egg rolls weren't even fully cooked. We had to ask them to cook it for us, which they were friendly and nice about it. A friend and I were craving pho after working out in the area but as we know, Vietnamese food is scarce especially in that part of town lol we decided to give this place a try since it was close and also after reading the reviews. The service was honestly top tier. The ladies both went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed and more. They brought out all the sauces included the sate- we pretty much didn't have to ask for anything because they were always 5 steps ahead of us LOL ok now onto the food. We got the spring rolls which were really good and we got the pho tai Bo vien which honestly, I was raised in Westminster and it tasted literally like what you would get there in my opinion. 10/10 would highly recommend! I've been here several times and I'm never disappointed. This is such an amazing pho spot for the area, and to top it off all the dishes here are amazing quality. The pho has a more anise leaning flavor that may be a little more unusual to the average diner, but I fell in love with it. The pho broth is clean and the portion sizes are good, especially given the area and the price. Outside of pho, the appetizer platter is amazing. All the dishes in the appetizer platter are cooked to perfection and all the vegetables are fresh and the fish sauce is so rich. It's some of the best fish sauce I've come across recently, really umami while still somehow being clean. To top it all off - the vietnamese iced coffee. I love Vietnamese iced coffee and I always order it at a Vietnamese restaurant. I've had a lot throughout my life and this is, in my opinion, the BEST Vietnamese iced coffee I have ever had. It's so good, it literally tastes like you're drinking a more coffee forward ice cream in the best way possible. It's not too sweet and leans creamy - absolute perfection. The place itself is a little small, but service is always really fast. I've only been a couple times where the place was slammed busy. If you come at off times you won't have to wait, but at peak hours you might have to wait 15-30 minutes for a table. The only real downside of this spot is the actual location. It's located on a weird strip center right after the the 55 freeway exit, and the entry points to the strip center are weird. Just be prepared not to miss the turns into the center, because it can take a while to circle back to the entries. Overall, highly recommend this place. Grab a bowl of pho and don't skip on the vietnamese iced coffee. read more

I've tried multiple pho spots since I've been on the yelp elite squad, and I can confidently say this; this pho spot has the most flavorful and bold broth I've had. They are very generous with the meat portions and the noodles are cooked to perfection. The service was excellent and the interior was very clean. Like... surprisingly good. Of course we got the egg rolls (because why wouldn't you), and they were . The guy working there also recommended a dish that was basically a mix of meat + noodles -- kind of like pho but without the broth (pho with no soup). AMAZING. Yummy food! I was craving Vietnamese food (and for the first time like ever, I didn't want pho) and I decided to give this place a try! SO GLAD I DID. We also conveniently ordered the food via DoorDash. I was so happy to see a grilled pork plate with vermicelli, an egg roll, herbs/veggies, and nước chấm. It's exactly what I wanted to eat! It was delicious too and so addicting! The meat had a great flavor and the nước chấm was stellar!!! Would totally order again if I wanted something slightly lighter that tastes just as delicious! Loved getting a bite with everything in it. The only thing it was missing was spicy sauce. I wish it came with a side of hot sauce or sambal oelek. I also appreciate that they separated all the ingredients so that the crunchy foods weren't with the wet foods and could retain their crunch. I also tried the Fried Wonton Cheese. It had lots of imitation crab and had a good taste. However, I did want more cream cheese. I also think they may have been fried strangely or the oil of the temperature was off as the top of the wontons were super dark and the part with the filling didn't have much color. Guessing they maybe floated and the part with the filling was out of the oil. Overall, great food! Would love to come back and try the the Banh Xeo. Also, this restaurant used to be Fill's Bakeshop. Really enjoyed our dinner! I'm going to compare everything to Pho Lantern since they are the only pho restaurants in the general area. Food: I generally like both places, Pho Lantern definitely has more options but I like the Pho meat selections better at KJB. Mainly because they had a lot of combos with meatballs which I love and normally have to pay extra for. I prefer the broth more at KJB because it seems lighter and cleaner. We also got egg rolls and they were great--came out hot and delicious! Location: KJB is generally harder to park but I think there's a lot in the back of the strip mall. Restaurant/service: a lot more space and tables in Pho lantern but I would say KJB is much cleaner. Maybe because it's newer. I appreciated that I could substitute the pork and shrimp with tofu. This one was super thin and crispy. Plentiful of mung beans daikon and tofu. Very heavy on the tumeric. The accompanying mint, lettuce and cucumbers were unbelievably fresh and crisp. I could not resist eating the entire thing!
