    Egg Custard Bu $7.98

My daughter and I absolutely love this place. The service was excellent, and every dish we've ordered has been delicious. We ordered the dim sum, and it was outstanding. The portions were generous, the flavors were rich, and everything was very filling. Thank you to our server for the great recommendations and attentive service. What impressed me the most was the strong sense of teamwork. The staff supports one another in every aspect from greeting guests and delivering food to refilling drinks and checking on tables. The prices are a bit higher compared to nearby dim sum spots, which are traditionally considered humble comfort food breakfasts. However, the overall experience was very good and well worth it. Ambience : Cozy, with decor that strongly reflects Chinese culture. Vegetarian friendly: Highly recommended for vegetarians, with a dedicated vegetarian menu section available. Parking: Plenty of parking when I visited.

I think they're trying to be more like the main restaurant with the expanded menu. They had a family set which came with hot and sour soup, HWS, kung pao chicken, garlic boy choy and rice. Good deal and very filling. Had to get the wings like always but I think they changed the batter and it honestly is ok now

Capital Noodles Bar, Costa Mesa, has several other locations through OC/LA. The restaurant dishes reminds me so much of my grandma's HK-style cooking -- especially when it comes to the wonton noodle soup. What I really love is that they let you choose your noodles, and yes, they have the thick egg noodles -- which is becoming less common options in restaurants. The noodles are chewy and springy exactly how I like them. The wontons are solid too -- classic pork and shrimp fillings. To top it off, this noodle dish is a lunch special item so $12 for a big generous bowl. Win!! Beyond the soup, the menu is stacked -- including common dim sum dishes including my favorite chicken feet and rocket fried shrimps! We ordered several more dishes for family style sharing : stir-fry green beans (simple but good) , beef twice fried noodles (skip it), spicy wontons (very good). Perhaps we should have asked for a round table with a lazy Susan instead of the long booth -- it would've made sharing a bit easier. Then again, the chicken feet and spicy wontons were in front of me so no sharing needed!!! Overall, portions size are generous (not huge as I would like), the space is clean and casual, and service is usually friendly and quick. For Friday, do come by 12:30, for best service as other patrons starts to pile in. My only quirky remark was that my eyes keep getting drawn to those hanging red lanterns creeps me out a bit. Eeek.

    Dim Sum Daddy (10 pieces)

Delicious and flavorful dishes and shareable portions too. The seafood fried rice was full of flavor as was the Singapore vermicelli noodles. Both were really good and I was glad to have leftovers for the next day. The Dim Sum Daddy (10 pieces) were alright. Definitely huge baos though. Next time, I'd like to get their house lobster dish. The servers were nice and efficient. We came for dinner after 5:30pm on a Saturday and we were probably the 3rd table filled. Then the restaurant steadily had more customers coming in as the evening progressed. This is definitely the spot for flavorful Asian dishes!

HUGE portion for $18! Enough for two! It was good but not enough of the noodles. Too much of the sauce. They didn't skimp on the veggies but wider plate, made the food flatter so less they had to top it off. Meal comes with chili, jalapeños and soy sauce on the side. Waitress was great! Friendly and nice! Went on Tuesday afternoon for lunch! Ambiance was great, pretty large location and you can sit anywhere you'd like. It started getting busier closer to 1pm, the rush, but hard working staff

We always enjoy the food here. Everything is flavorful! Today we got the spicy garlic wings, spicy fried rice with sausage, and chicken feet. All taste so good and hit the spot! They attend to you right when you walk in throughout your meal, the servers are very attentive. The place always look clean and a little cozy.

    Hainan Chicken from 8/15/25

Customer Service & Food has really changed. The owner/manager can care less about your experience and was a total jerk too. Has anyone noticed the difference from the pictures posted from a year or more to what was served last year? And the taste is t the same. Hainan Chicken from August 15, 2025. Check out older photos and you'll see the difference in portions not to mention flavor. What really turned me off from coming back I was the owner/manager.

Bug in my food from unwashed bok choy.

We used to eat here frequently but the quality has gone down drastically, culminating in a door dash I ordered 2 weeks ago that had a literal insect in it. As I began eating I noticed the bok choy looked unwashed, as I was picking around trying to decide if it was safe to wash I found what looked like a maggot that had been fried with the beef and immediately my appetite was gone. DoorDash did refund me, but this is so gross. I've attached a photo, and I will literally never eat here again.

Well worth for a lobster feast on a Friday night for us! Service from Celeste was excellent! The clean and cool atmosphere was the right ambiance for us. Definitely going back for this lobster special that won't last long! Get your claws on it soon!

    Chicken congee
    Kaylee L.

The Hainan Chicken is pretty good and the rice was pretty flavorful. It came with some pickled veggies which I didn't care too much about. The only complaint would be not enough chicken to match the portion of rice. I got the chicken congee but I was really craving the thousand year old egg congee, which 99 Ranch used to have but no longer sells. I decided to give the chicken congee a try. At first it seemed a bit bland and then I realized the shredded chicken pieces were at the bottom but there wasn't a lot of it. I am glad I got the Spicy wontons which was a good pairing with the congee. I might return to order other menu items such as the noodles.

The cook really knows what he's doing. You can really "taste the wok" in the dishes. Service is good, they are attentive. Food was amazing. Ordered Hong Kong fried noodles, house special fish fillet and spicy garlic squid.

OMG! OMG! OMG! We love Capital Noodle Bar! We've been going to the Costa Mesa location ever since they opened. Their menu was great at the beginning. Then it got even greater after they added dim sun to their menu. We haven't been there for a couple of months and decided tonight was the night! Holy cannoli! They completely changed their menu. It went from great, to greater, to oh my God!!! We love, love, love their new menu! I don't think they realize how underpriced they are. They put a live lobster and crab tank in their kitchen that you can see on the way to the restroom. Yes, those were live lobsters and crabs in them. And I am posting photos here. OK, onward. The lobster and the crab were posted as "market price." And so I asked. I know, if you have to ask how much something costs, you cannot afford to buy it. However, there was no way that I can eat both entrées and so I decided to ask for the price of the crap for the next time we visit. I opted to order the lobster. The amazing server came to our table holding a lobster that looked more like a whale! He said it was 1.8 pounds. I asked him what the market price was and he told me $23.95 per pound. I said, are you kidding me? I just ordered a half a pound lobster at some really crappy restaurant in Westminster and it was $109.95 for, what they told me was a one pound lobster. And that lobster was definitely on a diet! Three bites and I was practically done. So of course, I ordered the lobster! I lowered my expectations before it arrived at our table. I did not want to be disappointed. But let me tell you... the lobster they brought to our table was a freaking feast! There was no way I could eat it all! So when I inscribe OMG, OMG, OMG, I am not joking. The pictures will speak for themselves. The server told me that when they first put the lobster on the new menu, they priced it at $19.95 per pound. Are you kidding me? So $23.99 per pound is not only a bargain, it's a steal, literally! I'm just super pissed. I missed a $19.95 per pound deal! I would've eaten there three times a day. Lobster, lobster, lobster! I don't think you will find a pound of lobster for under $100 on any menu in Orange County for the premium quality Capital Noodle Bar is offering on their menu. So a 1.8 pound lobster is off the scale! I swear to God, it was practically moving when they brought it to our table. Obviously, when they brought out my entrée, the dish took up practically half the table. This lobster was not on any diet! My wife ordered some kind of a pork dish. I don't remember what it was. But she shared some with me because my lobster took several minutes longer to come out after her entrée did. It was delicious! And it was like $20! We ordered the fried shrimp appetizer. It was under $10. I looked at their other prices. Unbelievable. I told my wife that we are going to have dinner at Capital Noodle Bar every night until they raise their prices! I hope everyone sees this post! I hope everyone orders the lobster and/or the crab. The crab was less expensive than the lobster. I just cannot remember. But I know it was definitely not more expensive. But the lobster was mine tonight! Our server? The best server we have had at some of the finest restaurants we visit. He was extremely courteous, always checking in with us, and a very sweet man. They just don't make them like him anymore! Don't miss out!!! Get there before these lobsters, swim out the front door!

Capital Noodle Grill is seriously underrated! The portion sizes are incredible--for the price, you get so much delicious food, and that's exactly what a great meal should be: tasty and generous. We were pleasantly surprised by how much we got. On top of that, the service from the team was wonderful--shoutout to Celeste for being so sweet and kind; we wish you the best in your academic journey wooo! you'll save so many lives!! Every time we come here, it's a positive experience. It's surprising how quiet the place is because it truly deserves more love. If only more people knew the value this spot offers! Don't sleep on it--Capital Noodle Grill is a hidden gem.

Thank you for your question! We use soybean salad oil in our cooking. If you have any other questions or dietary concerns, feel free to let us know.

I tried to call to order take out but the number doesn't work. How to order take out from this place after OC order no dine in?

I called +1 657-231-6120 and they are open and offering 10% discount on takeout orders. Enjoy!

    Do they take reservations?

For large parties of 8 or more.

Why they close at 9:30 when the time shows they close at 10 pm?

I asked one of the employees there and he said Sunday-Thursday they open until 9 but last call for the kitchen is 8:30. If you come in before 8:30 you can order and enjoy your meal until 9. Sat & Fri they close at 10 so last call is 9:30

If I go for lunch at 1pm on a Saturday, will there be a long wait for a party of 4? I have never been and don't know the parking situation either.

Parking here is a huge mess; even with valet. Seating is not an issue; finding parking could be the deterrent.
