VEGETARIAN Veggie Spicy Hot Pot. With CRAB!!
    Mr. C.

I ordered Uber Eats: VEGETARIAN Spicy Hot Pot. I even called to make sure no meat I ate half of it and there is CRAB STICKS IN IT!! Idiots!! I'm gonna be very sick now from this. I might have to take legal action if it's bad

Fantastic restaurant! We've been here many times. The food is delicious, and served quickly. Highly recommended!

Don't take order over the phone. No dine in. Not even able to walk into the building. Have to wait outside to order online. Feel so dumb. It would be good to mak it clear to people that NO Dine in. Tried to order online but the online system has issues taking credit card payment. Finally figured out payment via venmo. Good thing is the food is good.

Grilled Cold Noodle with Sausage * favorite item ordered * served hot * tolerable spice * hoisin-like sauce drizzled on top * resembles a crepe * chewy Mala Salad * served hot * vegetables and hot pot type of meatball stir-fry House Special Beef Noodle * noodles tasted like ramen * beef was super soft and bouncy * soup was served on the side to pour in (tasted like salty cilantro soy sauce broth) Chicken Stew Rice Bowl * skin-less chicken stir-fried with onions and bell peppers * equal ratio of meat to rice * only offers takeout (not an actual sit-down restaurant; have to order online for them to bring out) * would only go back for the grilled cold noodle * open late * authentic Chinese food but am personally not a fan of mala spice (which is why rating is low) 7/10

This is one of those restaraunts you see on yelp and you're like ooo cool! I should try it one day. It's based in a smart kitchen, so really more of a delivery or pick up deal. There's some seating to eat but not really an ambience. It looks like you can only order online, but calling would work too! The restaraunt lady was super nice and fast when I mentioned I was outside. Everything was packaged perfectly. It's definitely unique, even as a Chinese person this is something I haven't tried. It's more chicken, if you read closely it says the sausage pictured is extra. The sauce I expected was some hoisin sauce but it was more of a 5 spice barbecue sauce. Instead of chewy, it's a flat noodle texture. Overall, something interesting to try!

Can't go wrong with their cold grilled noodle. Very satisfied. As you can see, its hard to see the dish itself as it is covered with pork floss. Did not know how much I would enjoy that combination. I got it paired with green onion, cheese, and the chinese sausage. Worth the eat!

Great for a late night snack! Authentic Northeastern Chinese food. Service is nice but you need to call when you arrive.

Northeast Sisters has a selection of dishes from Northeast China and beyond. It is wedged in the Hood Kitchen Space, in a corner between the OC Airport and the 73. There are dining options since this is a ghost kitchen for pick-ups and delivery only. If you are picking up, go to the front door and call the number by the doorbell. Someone will promptly bring your food out. Grilled Cold Noodles: The concept is simple. You take a cold noodle that resembles a crepe, which is thin, chewy, and pliable. The noodle is given the French toast treatment and dipped in scrambled eggs and fried. A sweet and savory brown sauce containing perhaps Tianmian sauce (similar to hoisin) and spices like cumin is spread onto the noodle. Finally, the noodle is filled with various toppings, such as ham, chicken, bacon, shredded pork, mushrooms), similar to a stuffed crepe. The noodle is rolled up and garnished with scallions and cilantro and chopped up into bite-sized pieces. Spicy Hot Pot: You start by choosing the spice level of the Sichuan-inspired broth, which quickly gets really spicy. Thin translucent sweet potato vermicelli noodles absorb the flavors. The hot pot can be filled with as many vegetables and meats as you like. Fun Fact: Northeast China, is a geographical region of China that includes the three northeasternmost provinces: Liaoning, Jilin, and Heilongjiang.

LOL Lots of parking in a massive lot, lots of dessert and coffee options to follow up a great meal. Like a "Chipotle" style of Asian fusion and they have something really good going on. The concept feels modern, elevated, and creative without trying too hard, and you can tell there's a lot of thought put into both the menu and overall experience. The food leans on the richer and more indulgent side in the best way possible. Think garlic noodles, bone marrow, heavily layered flavors, strong sauces, and dishes that feel bold and satisfying. It's not your traditional light breakfast spot, but if you're in the mood for something flavorful and different, this place absolutely delivers. Their Vietnamese coffee drinks are excellent, and overall the cocktail and beverage program is really well done. The menu has a lot of variety, and everything feels very intentional. You can tell the chef and restaurant group behind Nep Cafe really know what they're doing. They also operate other strong concepts locally, and the consistency shows. Brunch here is especially good, although the wait can definitely get long during peak hours. Thankfully, joining the Yelp waitlist ahead of time makes the experience a lot easier. Even with the crowds, the service moves pretty efficiently and the atmosphere stays energetic and welcoming. Overall, Nep Cafe is a great choice if you want elevated Vietnamese-inspired comfort food with a more modern and creative approach. We came with reservations on Saturday night before Mother's Day. The first thing I thought when I walked in was that there was a live band playing with bad speakers because the music was so loud. But when I saw there was no band, I thought maybe their speakers were broken because the music had that scratchiness to it. Then I realized it was a DJ spinning vinyls with foreign music from the 1950's with that scratchy vintage sound on full blast (think shrill trumpets and shrill voices.) Now don't get me wrong, the music was wonderful and very unique ( again, a lot of foreign songs) with a few I even knew...my husband and I loved most of the songs that were played. HOWEVER not when it's so loud that we can't even hear our own thoughts! I felt annoyed within the first 5 minutes of being seated when my family and I had to keep repeating ourselves, and my husband even went to check the rest of the place to see if it was any quieter anywhere else, but it was blaring music everywhere. I ended up ordering for my whole table of 8 people because we couldn't even hear each other over the music to make suggestions on what to order. My adult kids (all in their 20's) kept apologizing for recommending this place for my mother's day dinner. But oh my, the food was delicious---practically everything I ordered was amazing! OMG the hangar steak skewers, pork belly skewers, iberico pork secreto steak, little gem salad, and their bread with goatmilk -butter were my faves! We also had the short ribs and the pork fried rice with prawns but they were mid...nothing to write home about. This would've been a great place to come have a drink at the bar for happy hour or even late at night on a weekend since they open until 1am on thursday, friday, saturday... but don't come for dinner unless you bring earplugs and learn sign language or know how to read lips because there will be no conversations over dinner unless it's just to the person sitting next to you. Even so, I noticed the young couple next to us looking very annoyed-- they got up and left after quickly finishing up their one cocktail while the speakers blared out an instrumental piece of a girl moaning the whole time until she climaxed. Heck---I'll have whatever SHE'S having lol So plz keep the music down several notches until after 10pm, and let the rest of us enjoy our dinner so that we can sing praises on how delicious everything was. Until you do, I think I'll cross this place off my list for now and revisit again sometime in the FAR future.

Truly, whoever designed this space deserves their own Michelin star. Now... the food. The shrimp dumplings were fine. The shrimp were a respectable size, no complaints there, but "fine" and "memorable" are very different zip codes, and these stayed firmly in the former. The garlic noodles arrived looking a little lonely (small portion) with noodles that were slightly past their ideal moment of glory, accompanied by 4 whole shrimp. For $55. I'll let that marinate. The filet mignon dumpling was probably the highlight of the food lineup, genuinely decent, though it leaned a touch salty, like the seasoning had big ambitions. Still totally edible, just not the refined experience the price tag implies. On the bright side, the service was solid and shoutout to my server who steered me toward a pear martini that was, honestly, a little gem of a drink. They clearly know their cocktails. Bottom line: come for the atmosphere, stay for a cocktail, and maybe grab dinner somewhere else after. It's a gorgeous spot for pre-drinks and photos, just don't arrive hungry with high culinary expectations. Your wallet will thank you.
