The Northeast rice wrap is huge and filling, the iron-plate fried instant noodles are not oily or mushy and come with egg and luncheon meat, and the shredded chicken pairs well with rice. The New Orleans-style wings are juicy and well-seasoned without being too salty. Delivery from this place is already a solid 10/10, but the food definitely tastes even better dining in! Very disappointed, my first time ordering through Uber. First time trying this place. Ordered the non spicy soup, chose my ingredients including quail eggs, I looooove quail eggs so ordered double serving. The soup was delivered no problem. First thing was way too many noodles that completely absorbed the broth and I said way too many I'm not exaggerating, it was more like a noodle pudding. I just wanted a comforting soup but I guess I'll just have wet noodles instead. The flavor was good which make me feel more positive about this experience, I haven't even make it to half of my soup (not soup) I decided to try the quail eggs, I'm not sure if they already have them boiled or they boil them with the broth but they were bad, they had a really strong unpleasant taste like they were going bad and that taste stayed in my mouth for several minutes, I just kept drinking soda and the uncomfortable feeling then traveled to my throat, the taste was so strong that I just felt pretty much disgusted with the whole soup. I just covered with the lid and throw it away. I'm glad I ordered rice because that was all I ended up eating. The menu is based on foods found in Northeast China, and to be honest, standard American Chinese is bland to me after eating this... Delicious, hot, fresh and made to order... I get delivery or takeout whenever I'm in town (they have curbside pick-up). The veggie grilled cold noodle is one of my favorite foods (I add enoki mushrooms, grilled onions and cheese). Veggie pancake also delicious - both of these entrees are so much better than the description reads, I tried them because I read a review that said they are a must-have, so now I'm telling you that you must try them! Masala salad (for veggie lovers who want a little broth), instant noodles, and veggie hot pot are all great. The spices for the hot pot are a real zinger; be sure to add a note during checkout if you selected "mild". The owner is very personable, she recognizes my name and makes certain my order is prepared the way I like it, even after being away for months (and I always look forward to returning). Reach out if there's a problem with your order, she's eager to correct it. So grateful they're open until 3am and if more quality restaurants had these hours, it would be so much easier as a night owl to eat healthy! There are dining options since this is a ghost kitchen for pick-ups and delivery only. If you are picking up, go to the front door and call the number by the doorbell. Someone will promptly bring your food out. Grilled Cold Noodles: The concept is simple. You take a cold noodle that resembles a crepe, which is thin, chewy, and pliable. The noodle is given the French toast treatment and dipped in scrambled eggs and fried. A sweet and savory brown sauce containing perhaps Tianmian sauce (similar to hoisin) and spices like cumin is spread onto the noodle. Finally, the noodle is filled with various toppings, such as ham, chicken, bacon, shredded pork, mushrooms), similar to a stuffed crepe. The noodle is rolled up and garnished with scallions and cilantro and chopped up into bite-sized pieces. This place is such a blessing! Please stay in OC forever!! As someone from Dongbei, I'm always looking for authentic northeastern Chinese food, but it's so hard to find in the area. I'm so glad I'm came across this place. The flavors are authentically Dongbei (heavily seasoned, good amount of grease but all in a good way). I ordered the chicken rack, Dongbei Cold Noodles, and Roasted Cold Noodles with sausage. All of them were absolutely bomb. I was a little hesitant about the chicken rack at first because the color looked lighter than what I'm used to seeing in China, but as soon as I took a bite, all my worries went away. The chicken is super tender and really well seasoned with spices. You can really taste the cumin. The cold noodle tastes exactly like how they make it in Dongbei. It's sweet, slightly tangy, and super refreshing. The roasted cold noodle is the one dish I haven't had back at home, but it was really delicious. The concept and flavor is really similar to jian bing or paratha, except the wrap on the outside has the chewy texture of cold noodles. The sauce inside is Tian mian jiang (I think?). This place is a hidden gem. My friend and I discovered this place when looking for a quick snack at 9pm in the evening. Our stomachs were in dire need for any sort of nourishment, and boy did this place deliver. We each ordered the Grilled Cold Noodle with sausage and chicken breast as toppings. Although my friend and I might be biased due to how hungry we were, the food was really delicious. The flat noodles were crisp yet elastic, the grilled egg provided a "street food" flavor and texture, and the hoisin sauce (or whatever sauce it was) had the perfect amount of sweetness to create an immensely satisfying sweet/savory experience. The cilantro and green onions were also very fitting and contributed to the phenomenal, potent aftertaste. And I almost forgot the meat! The delicately soft sausage and golden-brown chicken were grilled to perfectly blend and enhance the street flavor. Overall, the dish was unique (unlike anything I'd had before, in fact) yet keenly reminiscent of Asian street food. In short - the perfect late night snack. Service was good. You can order online and and easily pick it up, which is what most people do. My friend and I were so food-deprived that we needed to eat right there. Just FYI, order either through their website, phone-in, or walk-in but don't order directly through Yelp because it costs about $2 more per dish. I think their prices are fairly inexpensive - when you order directly from Northeast Sisters. I ordered the Mala Mix Salad $12, which I think is really tasty with a sweet, sour, spicy, and savory dressing that goes so well with all of the ingredients inside. I also liked the Spicy Hot Pot $12 and wish I had added ramen, but that's something that can be easily added at home and save a few bucks :). Both of these dishes come with a variety of toppings that give different textures and add on to the flavor of the entire dish. I must say that I didn't really taste the mala (numbing spice) despite ordering the spiciest level, but it is still very tasty and full of flavor. The Roasted Cold Noodles $8 must be ordered! It's a unique flavor and texture that just makes you want more. It's got a pretty strong cumin flavor so if you're not a fan of cumin, then maybe it's not for you. If i can zero star.i would. This is the worst tasting things I've had in a long while.. I got a spicy hotpot and a chicken soup with mini wonton. Any supermarket frozen food is easily better then what I've ordered. The chicken soup is literally tasteless, like water!!!! I added salt which salvaged the soup slightly. Wonton is meh, not much flavors, it is mini. So not meaty either. Skin is soggy. Spicy hotpot has a lot of ingredients in it. Which is good. It has spam, bok choy, napa, lotus..etc added duck blood and lamb slices. I got mild, which was still spicy for me. However the worst thing is this weird after taste from the soup. I've had tons of hotpots in restaurants or at home with the above style ingredients but never this weird taste. I am not sure what is wrong with their soup. Found this wonderful spot about a month ago. I have tried their grilled noodle, mala mixed salad, spicy hot pot...etc. My favorite is definitely the Mala mixed salad! It goes really well with white rice but you can eat it as it is as well~ The Spicy hot pot is a bit more spicy(numbing) than the mala mixed salad. I personally don't like the numbing part so I always get the mala mixed salad, but it you prefer spicier food, I would suggest the spicy hot pot. I also really like their grilled cold noodle a lot, have had enoki mushroom, ham sausage, chicken sausage and chicken breast as the topping before, and the one I like the most is ham sausage. Spicy Hot Pot Mala Shredded Chicken We just discovered this unusual and wonderful takeout restaurant located very near John Wayne Airport. Unusual IMO because they open at 5:00PM and close at 1:00AM. It's great to know that you can order a healthy meal packed with flavor late at night when even most fast food chains are closed. This is mainly a take out operation with just a couple of tables out front and it's a shared kitchen with a taco shop so you won't see a Northeast Sisters sign when you pull up. I ordered the Spicy Hot Pot which includes a wonderful broth with vegetables, mushroom, bean , fish ball, lotus root, kelp knot, crab stick, fish tofu and they have a huge list of other ingredients you can add to customize your meal. Warning to those who think they like spicy! Hot is super hot, medium is hot and mild I am guessing might still be spicy. I ordered extra sliced lotus root which is beautiful and tasty with a texture similar to steamed chestnuts. We received a call when our order was ready and when we arrived we called back as requested and our order was brought out to car by a very friendly employee.
