Came by on a Thursday around 530pm, greeted and sat anywhere we wanted. The waiter explained the menu and how to eat the mazemen. We ordered deluxe mazemen, chicken karage, and spicy wonton. Orders came out fast, service was great and attentive, always refilling our water. Food and taste wise, it didn't line up with our taste buds. The spicy wonton was nothing spectacular, $8 for 4 pieces. The chicken karage was juicy, but could have been crunchier, tasted good with the spicy mayo. I know Wadaya is known for the mazemen, but personally, I dont like and can't eat too much of the seaweed flakes, and it was a lot too. It was too over powering and fishy for us. Especially after we mix everything up. The flavor of the mazemen was good, but just don't like seaweed flakes. We had to add the spicy mayo from the chicken karage to tone down the seaweed flavor. I'm sure 8 out of 10 people would enjoy the mazeman, it's just not for us.

We recently stopped by Wadaya and had such a great experience. I ordered the deluxe mazemen and it was absolutely delicious. The noodles had a great texture and the flavors were really well balanced. Everything mixed together beautifully and made for a very satisfying bowl. My husband ordered the spicy miso ramen and loved it as well. The broth was rich, comforting, and had just the right amount of spice without being overpowering. It had a nice depth of flavor that kept you wanting another bite. The service was wonderful too. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome throughout our visit. The restaurant itself is clean, cozy, and has a really comfortable atmosphere that makes it a great place to enjoy a warm bowl of ramen. Overall we really enjoyed our meal and would happily come back the next time we're in the area.

Easy eats mazemen. Went on a weekday evening - lots of parking in the plaza. There was no line and was sat immediately. The vibe is chill and casual. Ordered the deluxe mazemen - comes with pretty much everything (chashu, ground pork, egg, etc.). Keep in mind there is shrimp oil - so if you're allergic to request not to have it added. Was very rich in flavor and the noodles were def filling. Didn't feel super heavy despite all the meat and sauce. Theres a side of rice at the end to enjoy any leftover sauce. Would def come back!

First time visitor Opening parking Indoor and outdoor dining QR code for menu Table and counter dining option in one main space Clean functional industrial lighting with some Asian elements like the rope curtain and lantern and entry set up Appetizers ramen mazemen bowls and daily drink specials - veggie and vegan options available Simple service with taking order dropping off waters and continue task, nothing out of the ordinary to note Order the deluxe and Tokyo There are directions on the wall how to enjoy it best Resemble the photos in the menu Order came out quickly Literally take a photo and mix for 30 seconds and use of the umami vinegar from what I was told to lessen the saltiness and the provided with a rice ball to soak up all the juices Overall taste for Tokyo: fresh made to order, spiciness creeps in at the end of each bite, firmer chew on noodles, can definetly taste each ingredient in its own way Other half rated deluxe 9/10 - did try a piece of pork and it was thinly slice and tender The rice ball is a nice touch to gather all the remaining goods and I was rolling it around in then inform to smash it up :) Overall hearty portions, good for for solo group outing date night, shareable and not too overly feeling - would return to try more

I recently tried Wadaya, a ramen spot, and the people working there were incredibly nice. They refilled our water pretty often and were really helpful when we had questions about the menu since my friends and I were a little indecisive about what to order. In the end, we all decided to get the Deluxe Mazemen, and it was so good. One thing I really liked was that they have a step-by-step guide on the wall showing how to eat the mazemen, which made the experience fun, especially if it's your first time trying it. Another cool thing is that they give complimentary rice at the end, which is perfect for mixing with the leftover sauce and toppings in your bowl. They really don't play when it comes to leftovers because they make sure you have a way to finish everything in your bowl, which honestly makes the dish even better. The space itself isn't too big or too small, and they also have outdoor seating, which is nice if you want to sit outside. I would definitely come back again if I'm in the area. The only thing I wish is that their digital menu showed the pricing, but aside from that it's a great ramen spot to check out.

Very good restaurant! Came with my wife and ordered the Tokyo and a large chashu bowl. Both are very good and quite interesting. I have had a dish like this before and it's amazing. While some like the broth in ramen I prefer dry noodles and I haven't had a Japanese style other than soba. Service is great, price is a little expensive but reasonable for the type of cuisine. Please come if you would like to try a new type of Japanese noodle that is not typical ramen, udon, or soba.

Came here on a Sunday afternoon and the wait was not bad at all luckily. We were seated fairly quickly and the staff were great and attentive, and the interior is cute and simple. We got the chicken karaage, fries, and two mazeman bowls. The chicken karaage and fries were both delicious, and I love the spicy mayo! The mazeman was good, but I feel like it was missing that spark that I've had from other places. Not sure if it's because I got the Kyoto and not the recommended dishes (Deluxe and Tokyo), but was hoping for a littttle more. It was still good though, and i love that they give you a tiny scoop of rice in the end.

My family of 4 arrived at around 815pm on a Thursday night 2 qeeks ago after driving down from NorCal. We found this place via Yelp and my 10yo chose this restaurant. There were a few party wrapping up. It's a small restaurant with about 8 tables for parties of 2 or 4 and about 8 counter seatings. We were seated immediately to a corner table by the window. There is a QR code to scan for the menu. Water was brought out to us after we were seated and we were ready to order as the menu was small. We ordered the following: 1. Chicken karaage: We asked for original karaage so the tangy sweeten soy sauce was put on the side. The chicken came with a sriracha mayo sauce for dipping. The chicken has a light crunch and is flavorful eating on own. I didn't need to dip. 2. Miso ramen, non spicy: Has a creamy broth which my 10yo enjoyed. 3. CA Tonkatau w/ spicy sauce on side: My 12yo enjoyed it and said the sauce wasnt too spicy for him though he used about 1/2 of the spicy sauce that came on the side. 4. Deluxe Mazemen: Dry ramen comes with boiled egg and char xiu 5. Tokyo Mazemen: Dry ramen with no egg. We all agree that the noodles were really good. Tastes fresh, has a nice crunch when you bite into it and is chewey. Everything tasted bery flavorful and not too salty. White rice came out as we finished our mazemen and it was a very small portion as it came in a mini dipping sauce bowl. Although hubby and I was full we still tried the rice with the leftover mazemen sauce. It was super flavorful but we prefer it with ramen better. The waitress that took our order was very helpful with suggestions on our order. Both she and the other staff (male) was very friendly and checked in on us often. Overall, we enjoyed the ramen and good customer service. *For every $50 you spend, you get a coin to use for their capsule machine which has little qpons in there are that you can collect to earn towards discount for future visits.

Wonton soup comes with 4 pieces but we couldn't wait.

This place is so delicious! We came here on a random Wednesday after running errands in the OC area. There was no wait and we were seated immediately. We ordered 2 entrees and 1 appetizer for a party of 3, and that was plenty of food for everyone. We gave the new item on the menu "wonton soup" a try and it was really good! Some may say the filling is salty but I personally think it complements the clean broth well. We got the curry and Tokyo Mazemen and we thoroughly enjoyed everything! Definitely on our return list for quick and yummy dinner!

I'm a big fan of WADAYA! I tried this restaurant for my first time this past week and left thoroughly impressed. With locations in Costa Mesa, Fullerton, West LA, and Fremont, this place specializes in Mazemen, which is a Japanese ramen dish without broth. Served with thick, chewy noodles, WADAYA does it right. All the toppings were on point. I highly recommend the Deluxe ($19), which comes with sliced pork chashu, minced pork, poached egg, soft boiled egg, scallions, chives, minced garlic, seaweed, and more. Don't forget to order the Tako Wasa appetizer and check out the drink specials. If in the area, definitely give this place a try! It will not disappoint.

Pretty sure this used to be called Mogu Mogu, but now it's Wadaya and honestly it was pretty good! The first few bites hit so good, super flavorful and rich, but after a while it got kinda heavy. It's one of those meals where you're like dang this is tasty but also I might not be able to move after haha. Definitely not the healthiest option but still worth a try. Service was honestly awesome though. Everyone was super nice and kept checking in on us. You could tell they actually care about customers which is rare sometimes. I'd probably come back again but maybe split a bowl next time cause it's a lot of food for one person.

Wadaya (formerly Mogu Mogu) recently rebranded, and while I'm not sure if ownership changed or what prompted the rebrand, the food is still just as delicious I got the deluxe mazemen and it was phenomenal. Incredibly umami, perfectly balanced with just the right amount of vinegar, and loaded with toppings that all worked together beautifully. Every bite was rich but never overwhelming. They also have a great selection of appetisers. The cartilage and crispy squid dishes were standouts and definitely worth ordering. Service was super friendly and welcoming.

This wasn't just a "ramen joint"--it was a masterclass in authentic Fukuoka-style soul food. The Broth: Liquid Gold The standout was always their Signature Tonkotsu broth. You could literally taste the 30+ hours of labor that went into it. It had that distinct "frothy" texture (the bubble of the bone marrow) that you only find in high-end Hakata shops. It was rich, creamy, and carried a deep umami funk without ever being overly greasy. The Hits * Black Tonkotsu: The roasted garlic oil (mayu) added a smoky, dark complexity that ruined all other garlic ramens for me. * God Fire: For those who like to sweat, this offered the perfect balance of heat without sacrificing the integrity of the pork flavor. * The Karaage: Genuinely some of the best fried chicken in the area. Massive, juicy thigh meat with a shattering, thin crust and that addictive spicy mayo on the side. * Customization: I loved that they let you pick your noodle firmness. "Hard" was the only way to go to ensure that perfect snap with every bite. The Atmosphere The Costa Mesa location always had a great energy--functional, clean, and unpretentious. The staff were always efficient, greeting everyone with a loud "Irasshaimase!" that made the experience feel truly authentic. It's heartbreaking to see such a high-caliber spot leave the neighborhood. If you were lucky enough to eat here, you know we lost a heavy hitter. To the team at Ikkousha: thank you for the memories and the best bowls in the city. You'll be sorely missed! Note: For those still craving that specific broth, their Torrance locations are still holding it down--definitely worth the drive to keep the dream alive. Come back to OC! !

We also tried the chashu in one bowl and the pork belly on one bowl. For about $20 a bowl I will say I was a little disappointed that it only came with one small piece of pork belly, which was a little too rough and chewy. The other bowl came with two very thin slices of chashu. However the chashu was really good! I would say one of the best chashu I have ever tasted. So tender and very flavorful. The broth itself was a miss for me. The red king spicy tonkotsu was salty, and the taste was just heat with little flavor. With the squid ink (Black King), I just felt like the flavor was missing. It didn't have any unique taste to it. I think I would go regular tonkotsu next time. The chicken karaage had a nice glaze to it and was very crispy! Tastes kind of like a honey sesame. Overall, very good noodles and chashu. Portion on the smaller side with little broth flavor (For red king and squid ink).

Either way, the lack of an immediate apology or questions to clarify just point to the fact that he assumed immediately I was a scammer. Okay, annoying. But whatever. I want my food. I ask to have it remade - they're still seating people and people are ordering. They're not closing anytime soon. He tells me they won't remake it. You would think saying that 3 times is enough for them to finally get it but no. I wasted 20 min driving here, and another 25 waiting for a resolution for this BS. Kendrick tells me he can't cancel the order twice. I just ignore him and wait. 3 min later he goes "I canceled it". Like... you guys are acting like I'm the scammer when you clearly are the ones trying to pull some shady stuff. I FINALLY get my refund and Kendrick says, "sorry I just work here." Brother, that's not your line. You say that when, for example, corporate has a policy that no one likes. This all stemmed from you and your team's incompetence. The lying and gaslighting is absolutely crazy. 25 min and they either could've just refunded me or remade my order. A waste of time. I'll never visit any Slurpin again - this was just pathetic. Not a single bit of sincerity or willingness to help. The manager sounded like he was tired of talking to me, and our conversation lasted 2 min (I'm not even exaggerating). If you want food, don't go here. If you want to keep your money, don't come here. However, if you want to be treated like a liar and a scammer from the second you walk in, then this place is perfect.

The noodles were cooked perfectly and the toppings added another layer of texture and flavor that was just right. Enjoyed the chashu rice bowl as well - it was chopped chashu with lots of flavor and the rice was nice and soft - portion size was cute. Overall, everything was priced really affordably. Service was fast too. It's located inside the food court at Mitsuwa, so lots of seating and good casual environment to eat by yourself or with a group.

I love it when the service is absolutely incredible before food comes to the table. Of course, I had to go for my large pork belly rice bowl with their complimentary spicy sauce. My partner ordered their shoyu ramen and absolutely loved it. The broth is impeccable and it pairs so well with their noodles. I wish I had a Hiro Nori closer to my area so I could keep enjoy some savory goodness!

From the moment we walked in, the lead server, Jon, was unfriendly, which I could have overlooked, but his attitude became noticeably worse while seating us. Immediately after seating us, I saw him walk to the back, say something with a smirk to a coworker, and the coworker immediately looked over at our table. It honestly felt like we were being mocked, almost as if he had some kind of issue with me for no reason. The entire experience made me uncomfortable the whole time we were there, to the point where I honestly just wanted to leave. That said, I do want to mention that our actual server was kind and professional. Sometimes the experience matters just as much as the food, and this was a totally unnecessary and disappointing situation. I'd be happy to explain further if the owners would like to reach out.
