One of the best ramen places in OC! (Top 2 for sure!) We had the Tonkotsu Ramen, Gyoza, Spice tuna roll, and they had teriyaki chicken wings as a new menu item which I really hope they keep!! As it turned out to be the best part. The ramen was incredible. Super rich and concentrated broth with a nice sear and intense flavor in the chashu pork. We added a few soft boiled eggs which were absolutely flawlessly cooked, the best I've ever had tbh. The gyoza had a nice crispy bottom and were so shockingly juicy inside it felt almost like a soup dumping! The sushi roll was also packed with flavor and a nice heat. It was really the teriyaki wings that stole the show. Again, ridiculously juicy with a nice crunch on the outside, the sauce was insanely good! Sweet, rich, garlicy, umami - all the best flavors. Service was excellent, everyone was super nice and the food came out quickly and hot!!! It felt made with love and skill. This is one of my two favorite ramen spots in CM and I could go here every single day. The parking lot is spread out and there is plenty, these guys have the better end of parking as it gets tricky on the other side. Friendly staff and everyone always seems happy. I typically go early and dont have to wait. I flip flop between the Koku and Jun. The Koku is more fatty if Im understanding correctly. They have a house spice at the table that is AMAZING, I took a bottle and enjoy it on EVERYTHING. I like to add a seasoned egg and that is complete for me. My wife has got the Tatsonoya Roll and I have to say they are pretty amazing too. I really appreciate the Chashu they make, its honestly the thickest out there but is still VERY tender. I visited Ramen Tatsunoya on a weekday night and was able to be seated right away. The ramen was delicious and genuinely reminded me of my visit to Japan. The broth was rich and flavorful, leaning a bit on the heavier side but still very satisfying. The staff were extremely kind and accommodating. We each had a different kind of noodle in our soups with the spicy miso having the yellowish ramen ones people often think of. It was fairly spicy so not good for anyone that doesn't like heat. My husband had their special, which was called the mountain and was a larger portion than the other soups. Restaurant is nice and clean. We got sat quickly and service was efficient. This is honestly in my Top 3 Favorite Ramen Joints ever! On this visit, I've enjoyed the Koku Chashu-Men, a rich broth, extra chashu pork version of their signature Tonkotsu Ramen broth. According to their menu, the rich broth is made from pork fat, umami paste, and garlic oils, and it was delicious! Great ramen with thin noodles that was warm, comforting, and didn't leave you defeated at the end. The chashu pork is also super tender, with the fat melting in your mouth completely. The Gyoza was also pretty solid as well; great presentation with the dumpling skirt, which I love. I previously had the lighter Jun version of the broth and it's solid as well! The service and staff were friendly and fast! Our food didn't take too long after ordering to get to our table. I also love the decor and the ramen-shop vibe in the shop. No menma (bamboo). Pricey meat. Not what I look for in a ramen place. The lights are very bright. It feels less inviting and less warm than I'd like. Not great if you have glasses or get headaches from overhead lights. They give you lettuce as a part of the ramen. And any additions cost so much. It feels very painful to be poor here. I encourage coming with more than yourself because the sides to put in the ramen are more than one person needs. Coming here solo is not recommended. The spice on the side that is free is yummy. Noodles and broth were fantastic. Chashu is super good. This place is made to just drain your wallet. A punishing basic bowl of ramen with two pieces of chashu and insulting sides included. Do not recommend. Only positive is the ramen, egg, and meat taste good, but that doesn't make the rest of the experience enjoyable. We came during their one-year anniversary where they were running a $1 ramen deal. Parking was easy in a plaza and waiting time was around two hours. Place is small, but warm and inviting. The servers are also super sweet and greet you on the way in despite being busy. 10/10 Koku Tonkotsu ($1): Rich and creamy, just like how the name suggests! So good and super filling. My friends and I went to Ramen Tatsunoya for their 1 year anniversary! We waited in line for about 2 hours but the staff was super efficient in letting guests come in and out! The ramen was super umami and good! We also got gyoza dumplings as an appetizer! The dumplings were plump and juicy! The filling had pork and vegetables! They also had a promo which if you bought the green Aijoru drink you would get a box free! I would recommend this to anybody who likes a good ramen spot! Went here on their 1 year anniversary for the $1 ramen! Line was pretty long but it went really fast. Even with a fairly small store I think due to the quick and prompt service from the staff there, everything was fast and efficient! For drinks we tried the Golden Aojiru which was very earthy and refreshing (I think if they made it a lemonade it would've been amazing). For appetizers we got their Homemade Gyoza. Pan Fried on the bottom, the gyoza was crunchy and juicy at the same time. Very delicous with a mix of the sauce they had on the side. For the ramen we got the Koku Tonkotsu(thick noodles) and the Spicy Miso Ramen. Flavors were very rich and deep. I added the spicy paste to the Koku Tonkotsu which enhanced the flavor of the broth. Everything was delicious and will come again when in the area. PS. The store is located in a huge parking lot with plenty of parking and multiple stores in the area. Ramen Tasunoya is one of my Top 3 favorite ramen shops in the area. (#1 is of course Ramen Akimoto in Yorba Linda and the other one being Ramen Nagi). This is a great restaurant to eat-in instead of ordering it as a takeout. The service is prompt and you would hardly ever wait for your food to arrive. The service is attentive without it feeling like you're being hovered over or waiting around just to get some more water. The servers will ask you if everything tastes ok and all but if you have any issues or want modifications, good luck! Nothing will come of it. You dislike the thin noodles because the texture being too stiff? That's too bad! Eat it up or order kaedama noodles. Why even bother asking if nothing will be done about it? What still gets me to actually keep returning as often as I do is because of their delicious broth. It is to die for especially if you get the Koku with extra chashu. I like mine with thick noodles and extra bean sprouts. The meat melts right in your mouth which is lovely. I also think it's neat that the kaedama noodles come with little bits of chashu, bean sprouts, etc. I normally don't care too much for the gyoza at ramen shops even though I order them practically every time. BUT. The ones at Tasunoya is excellent. It's worth every penny. It has a perfect balance of crispness and nice flavor to it. Definitely a must try. On the other hand, Tasunoya rolls are something I wouldn't order again. It has too much mayo and it also didn't help it came after the entree was half way done being eaten. Lastly, I really don't recommend ordering from Tasunoya via Doordash. Within minutes of placing the order, I received a call from them letting me know they cannot sub the thin noodles with thick noodles because it's a Doordash order. No other explanation given. Just call them if I need further assistance. Ummmmm it's not like I asked for tonkotsu ramen made vegan or halal somehow. Order just never got fulfilled as I was already on my way there in a bad Monday traffic. The order got cancelled with a refund but still. I have also used their online order system as well but the noodle texture was just not the same and the whole experience was not replicable. For this reason, I really really really highly recommend eating in-person and not bother getting the food as a takeout. In sum, the 3 out of 5 stars rating was rounded up to a 4 out of 5 stars rating because of their great food quality. I would have otherwise given a 5/5 except their customer service aspects are strangely inflexible and lacking. read more

Other diners were enjoying their meals. Daughter had a question about the vegan ramen. The broth is made out of soy milk. I ordered the housemade gyoza for the three of us to share. I wanted the lighter broth of Jun Tonkotsu with bean sprouts added. Both daughters wanted flavored eggs with their Koku ramen. One of them had the Koku with their extra chashu. The 2 young ladies were so hungry after work that I only managed to get a photo of my ramen and the gyoza. Everyone was focused on their eating. We forgot to sprinkle sesame seeds on our ramen. The gyoza was like how we would make dumplings at home. The meal was truly satisfying and just what we wanted with it being so cold and wet lately. The eatery is clean and nicely decorated and found out that this is their third location in So Cal. It was early evening so there were only a few patrons dining in. Within a short amount of time my friendly waitress arrived with my piping hot bowl of ramen. The bowl was a good portion and the amount of chashu was generous. I took a sip of my broth, and was rich in flavor, noodles cooked perfectly and the chashu was tender with the perfect amount of fat ratio. I was in ramen heaven! The bowl was really filling, and I was impressed and totally satisfied. Before I was ready to depart the restaurant really got quite busy.
