Bulgogi Short Rib Steak Bowl
Charlie O.

Went here Friday night for a late night quick meal after IKEA closed at 9PM. My order of a Bulgogi steak bowl came out pretty quick and tasted really good. Service was good. The location is actually two in one with a fruit bowl style location right next to the main food ordering. I eat steak bowls and stuff at home so I really enjoyed the food. Does come with two different sauces as well. Will come back!

Nguyen's Kitchen serves till late night with some of the Vietnamese favorites like Banh Mi, Garlic Noodles and other finger foods. The place is a small area like a mini food court. You place your orders at the kiosk and pick them up when ready. I wanted to try the Pork Banh Mi and the Garlic Noodles with Beef Bulgogi. Both items were just good, it gets the job done late at night when you have limited selections. I personally enjoyed the Banh Mi better because of the flavors and the texture. If only the bread was a little more fresh and crisp it would have been better in my opinion.

Interesting place and not what I expected serving Vietnamese sandwiches with different proteins to garlic noodles and açaí bowls in a fast food setting. Fun concept Sandwich is huge and stuffed. Takes two days to finish Very fresh

Bulgogi steak bowl ($15) -- Good portions and taste. Crawfish pasta ($16) -- Also delicious, wish there was more crawfish!

Delicious!! I got the crawfish pasta with shrimp!!!! DEFINITELY coming back. I can't wait to try the butter noodles with Bulgolgi and the Bulgolgi sandwich

Service was pleasant. Nothing spectacular about it, but the girl behind the counter was nice and provided me her two favorite recommendations; garlic chicken and steak sandwich. I chose the bulgogi steak sandwich. The sandwich was very tasty. They dont put in sliced jalapeño in the sandwich, but instead, they provide you a spicy sauce on the side. I like this idea since I'm not a huge fan of jalapeños. The cucumber in the sandwich was soft and easy to bite into. My single complaint of the entire meal would be their vietnames coffee drink was almost 3/4's full of ice. Solid vietnames coffee, but i think it had too much ice in it. I would go back to try the garlic chicken sandwich.

We got the BOGO garlic noodles with bulgogi (through Uber Eats), and it was pretty good! Generous portion of meat and the garlic noodles was very buttery. In a plaza, and it shares a little dining area with an Acai bowl place. Think it's a nice weekday lunch place, or takeout. Sit down area is very casual

We stopped by Nguyen's Kitchen to order food to-go. We ordered on the kiosk and got the Garlic Noodles with House Chicken, the Grilled Pork Bowl, and the Peach and Lychee Green Tea. There is a lot of table seating, so we sat at one of the tables while waiting for our food. The restaurant was clean and had nice warm lighting. The Peach and Lychee Green Tea came out fast, and it was super yummy and refreshing! We waited a little longer for our food to be ready, but we only waited around 10 minutes for everything to be ready. The food quality is always good and consistent. It's a lot of food too, so we ended up only eating half and saving the rest for our lunch for the next day!

Another great Asian fusion spot! I love that you can get a Vietnamese Bahn Mi, or a Bulgogi Korean dish. I had to try their Bulgogi Fries first with egg on top. These are definitely shareable for a group of four. The garlic fries were very flavorful and delicious. I can't wait to try more items.

First time here, as I'm frequently a customer at the Orange location. Happy to report the same great sandwiches and iced coffee as at the other location. Service is fast and friendly as in customary and always can be candid on for an excellent lunch. There is a nice indoor seating area which is available.

Small place that has limited seating for eating in (the dining area is shared with an acai place), or the food is just as good if you grab and go. Portion sizes are decent for the price, and the meat is flavorful. The bahn mi is my favorite dish so far, but I'm intrigued to come back and try more of the menu.

The bánh mì here? *Next level.* It's rich, buttery, and totally indulgent--in the best way possible. Seriously, you've got to try it for yourself and see what I mean! There's a cool fusion vibe going on--classic Vietnamese flavors with a twist that makes it super approachable for all kinds of taste buds. I was hooked after the first bite and already planning my next visit. Now, the garlic noodles... not really my thing. They reminded me more of buttery pasta than anything distinctly Vietnamese. Just being honest! But hey, taste is personal--I can totally imagine someone else falling in love with them. So don't let me stop you from giving them a shot! The staff is friendly and there is also a kiosk where you can order yourself on a tablet. It seemed like they were constantly wiping down and cleaning the restaurant which is an A+ in my book.

Garlic noodles with shrimp were so good! The popcorn chickens spices was the best. The green sauce is a little in the sweeter side

Massive parking lot so that was easy, one friend went ahead and let them know we had 10 incoming. They made room and we sat immediately. One of the spots that you scan a menu at the table and you review, order and pay all in the app. I was really not familiar with the line up and went with the "House Special Beef Pot Roodle" (Roodles are their rice noodles). It was a weekend only item and I tried that. The noodles came separate from the soup. Over all it was very tasty. The meat was a bit fatty and the soup had tendons too. I took that part home and my wife loved it. I tend to avoid the fatty meat and tendons are not good to me. 10 of us so some of the appetizers got passed around. The smashed cucumbers are excellent, and my buddy also got some friend potatoes of sorts, reminded me of a fat French fry. Because my buddy and I sat at the same table we scanned the same menu, he ordered a bunch of stuff and also House Special Beef Pot Roodle. That confused the kitchen and they asked me if I meant to order 2, I said no and didn't realize I cancelled my buddy's order. Part of the confusion of a large party and many scanned menu orders. My buddy was struggling to order and our initial waiter seemed to not understand my friend and that took a little bit to work out, young lady came from the back and was able to quickly resolve some of the confusion and get questions answered as needed. In the end he had lot of food to explore. One thing that caught my eye was several couples there and sharing a large soup item served with a tray of various food items for the soup. Kind of a date night visual and something that looked very interesting. Several couples around us had that same dish and its got me more curious. Might have to come back with my wife and try this one.

I ordered their most popular dish, the A1 set, but honestly, it didn't really live up to the hype for me. The broth tasted pretty underseasoned overall. From what I understood, you're supposed to mix all the toppings into the soup with the noodles, but even after doing that, I still felt like the flavor was lacking. Yes, they provide seasoning on the side, but personally, I wish the broth already had enough flavor on its own without needing to adjust it myself. Would I come back? Probably not. Nothing really stood out to me enough to return, and it felt more like a one-time experience. Overall, everything was just okay.

Mai Phat still exceeded them! It has since become our go-to lunch spot, as well as a local favorite for my wife's family. They specialize in egg noodles - served either dry (with broth and main protein on the side) or wet like a conventional soup bowl. My personal go-to is the dry mì sủi cảo - egg noodles with sliced / ground pork, huge wonton dumplings, a shrimp cracker, and broth on the side. The wontons come in a super rich and delicious sauce that I actually got scolded for pouring over my noodles lol. The light and clear broth is very refreshing and well-seasoned. Excellent mix of perfectly balanced flavors from every component. Add chili crisp for extra oomph. My wife loves the mì gà quay - fried chicken leg & thigh with the signature egg noodles. This is honestly one of the most perfectly seasoned and cooked fried chicken I've ever had, and I've had a LOT of fried chicken. Service was prompt, friendly, and attentive Highly recommend Mai Phat for hearty, expertly crafted, and relatively guilt free Vietnamese comfort food

Best Grilled Fish discovery near Irvine!…read more I finally found a hidden gem for authentic Szechuan food in Tustin! 蜀风小厨 (Szechuan Kitchen) is a cozy spot that really hit the mark for my Szechuan cravings. Spicy Grilled Fish (麻辣烤鱼): This is a MUST-ORDER. The fish was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender inside, soaked in a rich, numbing chili oil broth. The lotus roots and potatoes at the bottom were so flavorful. Zhong Dumplings (钟水饺): Authentic sweet and spicy sauce. The skin was thin, and the filling was juicy. Osmanthus Longjing Tofu Pudding (桂花龙井豆花): This was the perfect palate cleanser. It's light, floral, and not too sweet--perfect after a spicy meal. The vibe is very minimalist with cute porcelain decor. Great for a quick lunch or a casual dinner with friends. Prices are very reasonable (around $30 per person). Pro-tip: They are closed on Tuesdays, so don't make the mistake of going then!

The menu has changed too -- they no longer have Taiwanese braised pork rice. They only have a "braised pork rice" option, and the pork comes in big chunks (not the usual finely braised style). Overall: pretty average. I won't be coming back. Came here because of Xiaohongshu and felt misled.

This dish typically comes in a broth, so if you're not in the mood for a soupy meal, be sure to ask for it "dry." I opted for the dry version because I wanted something different. I noticed that the wontons are prepared differently when you order them dry: they are deep-fried to make them crispy, while the soup version features boiled wontons. The dry option was served with a special sauce and a side of broth. The dish satisfied all my cravings, with a mix of seafood, BBQ pork, crispy wontons, and a giant shrimp cracker on top. I'm not entirely sure if I'm doing this right, but I once saw an elderly gentleman mix some satay and broth into his dish to create a sauce. Ever since then, I've enjoyed my dry noodles that way. The store itself wasn't particularly impressive in appearance, but that didn't matter because I was so focused on the meal. The owner was incredibly kind and attentive; she even turned on the portable air conditioning and made sure the airflow was directed towards me. They were enjoying their lunch at the other end of the room, which made me feel like I was part of a family meal. Overall, the meal was incredibly satisfying and fulfilled all of my cravings. They even provided me with a stamp card that offers a free meal after I purchase ten meals. The restaurant has only been open for a year and is a low-key spot that deserves more attention. I highly encourage others to check it out!
