We walked in and we were quickly seated. I looked over their menu which was a typical Chinese menu. I went with the combo of Mongolian beef and fried prawns. The food came out pretty quick. Time to eat. The Mongolian beef was good as was the prawns. The fried rice and chow mien was also good. The price wouldn't break the break either. The only saving grace, combination chow fun but even then, my husband said the beef was tough. I will usually tough it out if I don't like the food & will pay for it but when it's not even edible, I'm sorry but I'm not wasting my money & I had to tell them that I wouldn't be paying for it. Kitty's Kitchen is my daughter's favorite spot and I must admit when it comes to Chinese food it's a legit stop. I'll break my review into 3 components: Food, Service & Ambience. Food - The food here is quite good. My daughter got a combo plate with broccoli beef, almond chicken and then rice/chow mein. We also got a side order of sweet & sour pork. She devoured a bit of each and loved it all. Oddly enough, she doesn't care for almonds too much so she left those which made me question why she doesn't order a different chicken dish but that's another conversation for another day. The broccoli beef was good and flavorful. The sweet & sour pork had a very tasty sauce and the pork was cooked well. No real chewy pieces; it all tasted very fresh. The fried rice was okay, not my favorite I've had but still decent. Chow mein was a little bland too, but still good. Overall I'd give the food a 4 out of 5 stars. I happen to love chow mein and fried rice so to have both of those taste bland was a tiny bit disappointing. Maybe I'm used to MSG-infused crap...I don't know. Service - The people who run this place are just wonderful. They are very kind and friendly people and the gentleman who rang me up had a very upbeat attitude and was good about offering extras to make sure our meal was enjoyable. It's little things like that which really stick with me. It almost felt like a friend or family member looking out for you. They really do have that vibe that you're almost being welcomed into their home and that's a hard quality to nail down. They've mastered that. They're the type of people that are just so wholesome you just want to give them a hug. I give the service 5 stars. This is where Kitty's Kitchen truly shines. Ambience - The restaurant itself is pretty small, but there are several tables for people to eat at. Decor isn't anything grand, but honestly if you care more about how it looks around you than the food or service you're better off going to Olive Garden and eating a Tour of (Sh)Italy while staring at wallpapered vines. This place isn't going to win any awards in the decor realm, but don't let that detract you from experiencing good food and service. My only gripe about the ambience is the place isn't very accommodating for larger groups. If you have 4 or less you're fine, but a large group (8+) may be a bit trickier to accommodate. I'm not saying it's impossible, it'd likely depend on how busy they were. They're the types who would do whatever they could to make you feel comfortable so I'm sure they can make it work for a larger group. I give the ambience a 3.5 overall just because their size is limiting. Overall, I'd highly recommend checking out Kitty's Kitchen. This is small business at its finest and these people are two of the nicest people I've encountered in quite a while when dining out. Chinese food isn't my first craving, but if I do end up going Chinese food it's Kitty's Kitchen where I end up going. Great people, great food. read more

My cousin suggested I try this place so yesterday while out running errands I decided to stop by. It's in a strip mall next to a pet store, super easy to find. My usual go to when I try a new place is Mongolian beef. I ordered the Mongolian rice plate and won ton soup. The owners were really friendly and I believe it's a family owned business. It's a cute little restaurant. They are taking all covid precautions. I was asked if I wanted any condiments so I asked if they had chili sauce. The owner said chili oil. I said OK. I like spicy. (Usually Mongolian beef is made Americanized and not spicy enough) I took a bite when I got home it had a little kick so I added the chili oil. Omg I was sweating and thought my face was gonna melt off haha anyway the soup is good, has a good flavor and the Mongolian beef was yummy. I will definitely be trying other dishes soon. read more

The portions were big and lots of meat; however, there was zero flavor. The sauce on the meat was very bland and the white rice must have been at the bottom of the pot because it was crispy. This has been a regular go to since we moved to Manteca 10 years ago. We've developed a few favorites, and to be fair, have experienced a few misses. The constant was the presence of the owners at every visit. Kitty herself always stopped by our table to say hello, even if on kitchen duty that particular day. We knew something had changed when we walked in and recognized exactly no one. We asked where our favorite server was, "she doesn't work here since the old owners sold". Uh oh. We ordered our usual favorites, a starter, entree to share and steamed rice. The egg rolls were as good as ever though clearly not freshly cooked. Our entree though was totally blah nothing like it used to be. Steamed rice was, well, steamed rice, in a tiny bowl. We ask for a bit more for our leftovers and were charged full price for a second serving, a far cry from Kitty filling up the to go container. It wasn't really bad, but was completely different from what we previously appreciated. We will be trying one of the other places in town for our next outing. read more

I've been going to Kitty's Kitchen for years now. So, I thought I should finally honor them by doing a review! They are extremely consistent with their good quality food , great service, large portion sizes and average pricing. The food is always fresh and flavorful, along with the fact that our order is always correct and on time. We usually order to go because the restaurant is pretty small inside and it is a little warm during the spring/summer months. I have noticed that the front windows face west so they get all the afternoon sun, so that's probably why. But, if you do decide to eat in, I have noticed that they seem to be pretty clean.
