    General Chicken Lunch Plate
    Kris N.

Update 3/2026: First time here in I don't know how long. I ordered the General Chicken Lunch plate. It was around $16.90 after upgrading to fried rice AND with it being after Lunch hours. Fairly reasonable I'd say. It's a pretty decent sized portion and it would be an even better bang for the buck as the base price with steamed white rice. I had also ordered the steamed BBQ pork buns. Service isn't bad. My server was very nice and helped me decide on my dishes too. Here's where things get dicey. The chicken had the look and feel of something that came premade from a bag/box and the uneven coating of the sauce makes us seem like they just pour the sauce on top after plating the meat with the rice. The General chicken had pretty much no heat and was more sweet and tangy than anything. The eggs top soup was barely lukewarm as well so it was nothing to write home about. As for the location, it's not tiny but it isn't large by any means. There's a decent number of booths and tables considering the location. It's also not the cleanest location but it's not especially dirty.

Got the Hawaiian chicken plate, expensive and bad flavor. Chicken is weird, "fried rice" is just awful.

I wanted to try something different in town so decided to check out Forum. Hospitality was great- super friendly when I walked in. As I was looking through the menu for a to go order, I was brought some hot & sour soup (tasty). I ordered the lunch plate of general chicken and fried rice which I really enjoyed. We also got the cheese puffs and potstickers- both of which were pretty good. The orange chicken was a bit too "orange" for me on the flavor profile. My personal preference is a little more subtle in that aspect! There is a 4% processing on all CC transactions so plan for cash or debit. (It is very clearly stated on the menu but he also kindly informed me as well when I went to pay.) I'll be back to try other items for sure.

I was free Wheeling around Manteca and I came across Forum Dynasty!!! I thought I would give them a try for Dinner. So I rolled up and parked my Whip right in front . Forum Dynasty has plenty of Parking because they are located in a Strip-mall!!! Warning they do Charge a 4 Per Cent Fee for Credit Card Transactions!!!!! I rolled in like a Boss and was Greeted and Seated and Presented with a Table and a Menu. I Perused their Menu and Ordered a Combination Meal A . Combination Meal A Consists Of Soup of the Day --- Egg Drop Fried Rice Chow Mein Sweet and Sour Pork And 2 Fried Prawns !! 5 Minutes Later my Food was Served to me Piping Hot!!!! It was pretty tasty!!! My only Complaint was the Portion Sizes was very small!!!!! I mentioned it to the Owner !! Service was Enthusiastic and Helpful!!! Decor was Old School Chinese Restaurant lol!!! This is a Baller On A Budget Approved Establishment!!!

An amazing home-y spot for Asian comfort food in Manteca :)…read more For appetizers, we got the bang bang shrimp and spicy wontons and both were delicious. I liked how crispy and sweet yet tangy the bang bang shrimp was. This was probably my favorite item we tried! The chili wontons weren't too spicy and they were really generous with the amount of shrimp inside. Shrimp & wonton noodle soup was def a comfort meal growing up, so I'm happy they had that here! Portion size was very generous and broth was tasty. Noodles were cooked well too, and I liked the filling of the wonton. We also got the curry ramen with katsu chicken. The chicken was sooo crispy, it was one of my favorite items. The bacon kimchi flavor had a nice spicy kick to it. The beef chili oil noodles was tasty and I liked the small beef bits. The bang bang chicken had the same sauce as the bang bang shrimp, but I liked how the entree came with rice too. The philly cheesesteak eggrolls were super crispy, and if you're a cheese lover, you need to try this! Overall, a really solid spot for Asian fusion food, and the servers were all extremely nice and patient as well. Service was really quick!

The owner even knows my order, which makes the experience feel welcoming and personal. The portions are great, and the food is always fresh and flavorful. For me this place is a 3/5. I ordered the general chicken and orange chicken. They said it would be ready in 15 minutes. I came maybe about 10 min later. Got the food and tasted it soon after I got to my car. Orange chicken lacking in that orange pop. General chicken lacking in overall flavor. What was the most unforgivable though was the soggy chicken. Eating at its optimal level would be eating it fresh at the table at the restaurant. Next best thing would be in the car as soon as you got it. But it's a to-go restaurant to realistically your eating it at home after it's traveled for however many minutes. As expected when I got home it was soggy. But it was already as soggy as possible to begin with. Why is this place a 4/5 I have no idea. Maybe since I came during off peak hours so they foods just sitting around and there's no fresh food turnover? No idea. Maybe I'll give them another chance one day but who knows. Also factor in that they don't have rice plates and the cost of pure entrees alone and that's a negative for me. I didn't know how lacking Chinese food was in Manteca because I was spoiled by the old Kitty's Kitchen. Nothing compares in the area.

I'll comment on the taste in a bit but I want to first highlight something I've never experienced. In all my work-from-home years I've never once had to-go experience where the dishes looked like they'd been plated for table service at the restaurant. Sure some stuff shifted in the Dasher's car but it honestly blew me away. Even the drink was carefully wrapped and put in a little box to ensure it wouldn't leak everywhere. As for the important bit, the taste, man... I have had so many amazing Thai meals at places in the bay area and honestly just assumed the most Modesto would get is some great Banh Mi spots. Obviously I haven't had the chance to try the whole menu but my go-to, Tom Kha, this is the best Thai coconut soup I've ever had! The Pad Thai is as good if not better than what I've had in San Francisco as well. I'm really looking forward to bringing friends and family here to check it out in person! Side note... yes, it's also very expensive ordering via Doordash with their added fees but it's 2026 and it's California. So far my multiple orders have been well worth the price and I expect the same experience in person! (just, you know, without the extra Doordash fee nonsense)

The restaurant is in a little old school strip mall, supperrrr tiny but don't let that deceive you. Inside was packed and there was a line outside too. Also, got a peek in the kitchen and the cooks looked authentic and Thai? That's why it's so yummy! lol.
