Immediately spit it back in bowl and there it was from a metal scrubber in the soup! Got sick and threw up everything i ate and my wife did too. Went back to restaurant and owner brushed us off stated "oh yes that happens from when we wash dishes, i can credit you for more food?" I don't know what has happened to this place in the last year it was ok before but the last 2 times the food has gone down hill. First off the order taker on the phone hung up on me twice. We ordered their dinner for 3 plus pot stickers and ribs. The ribs were tasteless and tough like they had been sitting around all day. The pot stickers were nothing to write home about dull tasting. The won ton soup was sparse on wontons and the broth did not have a good flavor same with the Chow mein. To top off insult to injury the price increases plus a 4% service charge for credit cards. I understand food prices have increased but to ad a substancial increase, lower the quality of food and then adding an additional charge for credit card. I called in an order for pickup. two orders of Chowmein, two orders of Sweat & Sour Pork, one order of Broccoli Chicken, one order of Orange Chicken and one order of General Chicken. The guy on the phone said it would be ready in about 10 to 15 minutes, that right there should have made me cancel my order. That makes me think they are not making it fresh or it has been sitting out for a while but I am in search of a new Chinese place since my favorite place closed down recently and my other place sold to family and it is not the same. My guy used to say it would be done in an hour. Anyways I picked it up and when I got home I opened it all up. The foam containers of the Sweat and Sour pork were only filled about half way basically only one order not two. None of the containers were packed with the exception of the Chowmein. The General Chicken, Orange Chicken and Sweat & Sour Pork were over fried and real chewy tasted like it had been made hours before and they over refried it upon order. The flavor was OK but I am looking for the perfect crunch on my fried chicken and pork and this place does not have it and looking for good portions especially when you are making a large order spending lots of money. I'll scratch this off my list and move on to the next Chinese place until I find that one that can stack up to my two other places that are no more. read more

Near 50.00 for pork fried rice, absolutely no flavor, sweet & sour pork, honestly there was about 1 cup of chopped pork in the container, (that was actually good flavor), but not worth what we were charged, order of garlic fried chicken wasn't too bad, even though the pieces were strangely cut, no white meat! Order of chicken chow menu , it was obvious the noodles were not fresh for our order, as well as the fried rice. Forum Dynasty is the worst Chinese food i have experienced in many many years. The pot stickers were soggy with a filling that didn't appear to contain any pork or chicken. The house fried rice and hiuse chow mein contained very very little pork, chicken, and shrimp. The shrimp were so tiny and so few. The fried rice looked like white rice with a couple of dice carrots and peas stirred in. The small chicken pieces in the general tso's chicken was over breaded, and over cooked. The orange chicken was overly sweet and, again, dry and overcooked. A few blocks from my house but I'll never return the food is so atrocious. And you too should avoid and look for Chinese food in Manteca with a superior rating and edible cuisine. read more

It is really is a good deal for lunch. I would just let the female serve the food. Also I usually ask for a box for my food to eat some later. Well this evening I go again Great customer service up until the point I get home open up one of the dishes I ordered last time( only ordered again because of how good it was last time) the beef and broccoli. Well the beef n broccoli was not edible the sauce was not even within the same color or taste range the beef was mushy just not edible they were very rude and said if I wanted it fixed I would have to bring it back. Although Dynasty has received god reviews I am one who does not care for it. I think that their food is either too blah, or is simply odd to what Chinese food I prefer. It is hard to describe but it is not Chinese in many ways. They charge for rice! What? The greeting commonly used throughout China is translated roughly as, "Have you eaten your rice today?" And to me the food is very sweet and not a tasty sweet. It just had an odd taste to soup, main stir frys and even the egg rolls. I asked the waitress about it and she replied that they adjust their cooking to local tastes. This is in the Central Valley of California, Manteca specifically; so buyers beware. I have heard that their Dim Sum is the best around, even favored by local chefs, so perhaps THAT would be more traditional. But I won't go back to try it. read more

Came in for lunch with my brother. The lunch combos are decently sized and priced. The sweet and sour pork was delicious and the meat was crispy. The fried rice didn't have that much flavor and I wish the chow main came with a bit more noodles. We also ordered the shrimp dumplings but they were a bit too soggy. We barely got to talk to our server, so I would say the service is so so. I would recommend this place if you do not want to spend too much money. Order takeout the food that was received was not great, the veggies mix was old it was clear the broccoli had yellow spots obvious to the cook, the Garlic Chicken was very dark that to indicate time to change cooking oil, but at $ 18 a gallon it's being stretched, the egg foo young chicken was about a 6 out of ten. Sadly, something has changed. I called to place an order for delivery and I ordered the Canton dinner for four which includes orange chicken. Delivery was fast, 15 minutes or so. Upon opening the boxes I noticed no orange chicken so I called to tell them they forgot to put it in my order. The lady on the phone was very defensive, "NO. You only get orange chicken if you order for four!" I said "But I did. . " and she cut me off "NO. You ONLY get orange chicken if you order for four!" She would not listen to me and hung up on me. The food was not as good as it used to be, the portions are smaller, and the chow mien noodles were stale. I have been ordering from here for the past four years, they have delivered to my home, to my work, and I have always loved the food. This was the first time there was ever any kind of issue. The place needs some serious cleaning / upgrades. The seats have rips in the seats and backs. The walk down the hallway into the restroom is scary. Poorly lit and dirty walls. Piles of kitchen bulk food along the way. The bathroom has not been cleaned in awhile. A long while. Don't touch the bottom of the tables. My napkin stuck to the bottom. But the biggest change is the food. Majorly changed for the worse. The lemon chicken before was a breast filet deep fried. Now it's rubbery small chicken mc nuggets covered in sauce. Not at all the same. Our soup today was cold. Not cool but cold. The sweet sour pork had raw onions bell peppers and carrots. Covered in the sauce. Dear god cook them a bit. The fired rice was crunchy. Dear god. Cook it. Now we move to the pork chow mein. Shouldn't there be pork in the pork chow mein. There was noodles. A few bean sprouts. But the main ingredient was a no show. So let's sum it up. Reasonable service. Dirty tables and environment. Disgusting bathroom. The food. Cold, Undercooked, covered in sauce and generally of poor to mediocre quality at best. Unfortunately after 20+ years we won't be going back. But that's the reality of poor product. read more

Yesterday, I ordered Chinese food for my family and we ate a small portion of the food, and saved the rest for later, when we went for the second serving, what we found in mixed with the Chicken Chow Mein, is a long coiled thin piece of wire, entangled within the noodles, it was to late at night to phone the restaurant, so I waited for them to open up today, most of the food was still in the containers, placed in plastic bags, with all the sauces and condiments, to give them this back, when I arrived at the restaurant, I asked whom I thought was the owner to come outside to my car, to show them the problem with the food, because I didn't want to scare the customers inside the restaurant, but inside my thoughts, I'm wondering, what would have happened if one my children or myself had eaten this, I showed the lady and man, the wire in the food, I asked her, did this come off the ceiling, she looked at it and said, "it is from the old cooking whisk and they need new ones, and then said, "this happens," What? I am standing there with 7 containers of food on the hood of my car, like what!!! She so calm in her demeanor, it throws me for a curve ball, I mean, one of us could've been hurt or killed, and she's just as calm and relaxed, She takes the huge bag with 6 containers inside, I'm trailing behind her with another bag, she places the bags on counter/table, asked me, "if I had paid by cash, or card, then said it was by debit, she's on the phone and explains the story with her husband, she then said, "I'll have to give you what I have in the till," she puts $70.00 up on the counter, mind you I paid $84.50 for this food, I told her, I don't want her money, I paid by my visa debit bank card, I asked her, if she was going to apologize or say, sorry, she finally said it, but now I am in shock, like wow!!! Really... it seemed as if, she didn't care. Of course I went through my bank to be recompensed. It tasted bad and had the consistency of a brick. I left both on the plate and was refunded the charge for the second piece. Greezy, gloppy, nasty Chinese food. That sums it up. We ordered all vegetarian. The lemon tofu had more batter than tofu and the sauce was served on the side. Even the kids wouldn't eat that, and they love fried stuff. The veg chow fun with gravy was particularly greezy and gloppy. We have tried many other Chinese restaurants in the area, but the Forum Dynasty has the best food! The sauces and seasonings are superior to the greasy or skimpy offerings at other local establishments. The Szechwan Chicken is my husband's favorite and the Tai Fried Rice is to die for! Great blend of seasonings and the spicy-hot factor can be adjusted to the customer's preference. Almost all the food can be made for vegetarians using either tofu or vegetarian soy ham, so they still get protein in their meal. Forum offers one of the largest vegetarian menus at any chinese establishment in the county. The service is superb, ambience nice for dinner or a casual lunch. This review comes not from the usual point of view of a regular dining experience, but from the special circumstances of a post-funeral family reception. My clan had picked this restaurant for this occasion. While I found the food to be palatized to a rather Americanized and local taste, overall the dishes were delicious and well-prepared. Some of my favorites included tofu with bok choy and black mushrooms, as well as honey walnut prawns. The servers were not only kind to our large party but took well to the bantering of some of our more jocular family members. I would recommend this establishment on the service alone. This is a hole-in-the-wall place in Manteca. However it is a very homey and the food was great. I was very pleased since I requested something that was not on the menu. I decided that I would be a pain and requested if I could have noodles sautéed with bok choy, mushrooms, and tofu. There was no problem with this order (I have been to other places where the answer was simply "We cannot do that"). In addition to my request being fulfilled I was just as pleased with the food itself. I had requested the noodles be slightly fried and as well as the tofu. It came out and tasted just like I imagined it. They prices are very reasonable, for my custom dish came out to be $8 (which I took more than 2/3 back home since it was a fairly large serving). read more
