Small business tucked on the side of busy Huntington Dr. Easy to miss if you're not looking for it, when you walk in the interior is pretty dim with a bunch of boxes on the right hand side used for storage from the looks of it, it looks more of a take out rather than dine in type of place. When we came in to order, they didn't have a food menu available -- only a drinks menu with mostly boba and slushes -- so we kind of just had to ask what they could make. Their vegetarian options were pretty limited, but they were super willing to work with us, which I really appreciated. We ended up ordering the tomato and egg dish, the eggplant stir-fry with veggies, and the mapo tofu (medium spice), all with rice. And wow... the portions were HUGE. We left so full and still had plenty for lunch the next day. The tomato and egg dish was honestly delicious -- full of flavor and the sauce went perfectly with the rice. The other two dishes were... okay. Not bad, but not something I'd crave again. The first bite was promising, then the flavor kind of disappeared. The mapo tofu didn't taste like any mapo tofu I've had before, and it wasn't spicy at all. When I reheated the leftovers, I added a bit of seasoning and it tasted much better. We also tried their Copycat Milk Tea with lychee jelly, and unfortunately it didn't hit the mark -- really sweet with an odd aftertaste and we're in SGV we can find PLENTY of boba places so don't try it here. One small perk: even though they're a cash-only business, they let us pay with Zelle, which was super convenient! Honestly, I wouldn't mind coming back to give them another try. Maybe we came on an off day, and I want to give them the benefit of the doubt. read more

Convenient service and great food! I order from this place during work days, and it's such a lifesaver-- I can order ahead and pick up in a breeze, and can count on having a delicious lunch. My go-to dish is the chicken fried rice, but other dishes are also quite good. The store front is small with 1 or 2 tables for dine in; mostly for take out. read more

Kitty's Cafe is a Taiwanese style eatery in the north side of the SGV. We stopped by to grab a quick snack. This used to be Copycat Cafe as a heads-up for those wondering. When you come inside, you'll notice a retro look as there are things that still are in transition from Copycat. But that doesn't mean that the food itself was solid. We ordered a set of popcorn chicken for the road and after about 10 minutes, we got our bag full of popcorn chicken goodies. The chicken was delicious - not too crispy and super flavorful. Had a slightly sweet flavor and was nice and hot. The only thing that would've helped would have been some sweet and sour sauce. At least on the weekend, there's plenty of parking in front of the restaurant. The owners are super nice. Know they commented to us that they have been having a tougher time during the pandemic with some lost business around town so they could definitely use the help! read more

when the lady said they were out of boba and takoyaki I knew the food was going to slap. They make taiwanese food with rice and broccoli l. I got the pork chop. crispy and flavorful. don't let the storefront fool you. the winter melon tea was also very nice and intense. And for the price you can't beat it. read more

Long read...Okay I by chance found this place. For those that want inexpensive, simple and well rounded meals this is a place to go. It's a mom and pop shop and presentation of the place isn't anything to write about, except for the price for the food you get and the great taste! It seems like this is a hidden, low key, gem of sorts - look at the photo of the two plates. Two plates and a boba drink cost me $20.95!! For the amount of food, comparing this to escalating prices elsewhere, this place is a good value! The way I eat my meals, this is an opportunity to counter act the inflationary aspect of food, possibly a plan is to come in and buy like 10 plates with differing mains based off their menu and throw them into the freezer for the week and microwave what you want to eat. I (me) can get two meals out of a plate so technically I can eat for a work week for a little less than $50! Cash only place!!! read more

This place use to be Copycat Cafe, but it seems to be renamed now, although retaining the same menu. I use to come at least once a week back in high school, and still come sometimes for their rice bowls and drinks! Affordable, and an all around great place to come for locals. When I visited, they weren't open but I'll be sure to come back another time! read more

Somehow my fb pic doesn't show up. I would give it 3.5 stars if I could. My comment was removed by fb group called SGV Eats. I know it has nothing to do with the owner. But my comment was not negative nor bashing, was hoping to give honest feedbacks. Very disappointed by the fb group!!! I am posting it here so people can see it. The comment I made on fb was that for the set dinner, there wasn't much difference between the 2 vs 3 vs 4 ppl in terms of amount of food. I don't mind paying more for more food, but if it didn't make much of a difference then I would opt for the cheaper set. At least one other commenter agreed with me. But yet fb group didn't allow me to post anything less than a raving review. I don't want other people to complete believe what the fb group says. Why can't I leave honest review like this? Absolutely not authentic and quality is poor, the oyster pancake was blend and totally not Taiwanese style and beef noodle soup tasted like tea eggs w/ cheap chilly sauce and stale broccoli w/ just the flavor of soy sauce nothing else. Threw everything away because nothing was edible. read more

I am extremely disappointed in the food quality of this place. I've ordered tons of Taiwanese food deliveries from various places throughout the pandemic, and I have never had such bad experience. Of the food we ordered, we got spoiled Taiwanese sausages, burnt meatballs, burnt fried fish cake, and oyster pancake completely made wrong without gelatin. I will not be returning. read more

This is our go-to place ever since we discovered this gem two years ago. The dishes doesn't have MSG, low oil, low sodium, just as healthy as home food. And most of all, the food taste delicious. Since last year due to COVID, I have been ordering on and off here for their dinner set meals. The menu comes out each Sunday and you can see what you want to order. I usually get the meal for 3 for $26 which is enough for my family of 4. I do agree with the previous reviewer that they should have more COVID pre-cautions but this is a mom and pop store that is run by husband and wife. I have been to other mom and pop shops where they probably won't wear a mask cooking as well. The chances of you catching COVID from food is slim cuz the enzymes in your stomach can killed it when its ingested. Anyways, I think the owners at kitty cafe are very nice and they always made sure my food comes fresh and hot. I sent my husband to pick up one time but he didn't have cash and I called them to tell them that. They said no problem, I can pay next time. A lot of people are struggling right now so I think if you have issues with them, talk to them instead of writing a bad review. I am sure they will try to do better next time. read more
