My husband and I have been told about this place a few times so we decided to give it a try. First impression, cute BYOB bistro. Checked in on yelp to get our free soda. The garlic parm fries were good but the portion for an appetizer was a little small. I got the pork chop special. The chop itself was tasty but I was not a fan of the quinoa and the arugula was bitter, not worth the $27! My husband had the 6oz filet with mashed and veggies. Not the best steak but not the worst either. Service was a little slow as well. We would try it again and order different entrees in hopes of a better experience. read more

This restaurant is great! It has a welcoming decor, friendly service and We had the southwest burger and the alfredo pasta. We enjoyed them both! We definitely want to revisit. read more

Was not impressed. Had the "special" which was a rack of ribs served with corn on the cob. The corn was actually excellent, however the ribs were extremely disappointing. For $34 I got the most overcooked and over salted piece of meat I've ever had. You could literally not even bite it off the bone. Needless to say I ended up not finishing my plate and decided to eat elsewhere. read more

Hands down the best food! I read all the previous reviews and went in with high expectations. The food and service exceeded what I had expected. We started with the fish taco as an appetizer. The fish was moist and combined with the pico and cabbage flavor exploded with each bite. There were 2 tacos which was more than enough for 2 people as an appetizer but would be a full meal for one person. I ordered the cobia fish special which our waitress recommended. Same fish as in the tacos- excellent. The side rice dish with pork belly was my favorite. I was leery about the pork belly, it just didn't sound good. I was pleasantly surprised. Great flavor and just large enough pieces that if I didn't want to eat it I could pick it out. By the end of the meal I had eaten all of it. It was just that flavorful I kept wanting more! Desert, like the other dishes, superb! Bananas foster and chocolate cream brûlée. Looking forward to next time and trying something new. read more

They had a large party (60% or dining area) so the wait staff was a little overwhelmed and service was slow. I never understood this. It's not like they just showed up, they must have called in advance. Schedule resources to work the party above the normal staffing. To eat, our party had fried avocados with bacon and cheese, crab nachos, crab fettuccine, crab cakes, Cesar & wedge salad, inside out burger, Gouda mac & cheese, and various kids meals. Crab nachos - good. Fried avocado was good, but it might have been better if it wasn't fried too. It was a whole avocado cut in two, so the pieces were a little messy to eat/share. Granted, I'm not sure how else you would do it, but no the less. The wedge salad was huge and could have been an entree, Cesar needed a little more dressing, but was OK. Crab fettuccine was a little on the congealed side, but not bad. Crab cakes were good, but the pairing with the side, I'm told, wasn't very flavorful. The Gouda mac was OK, but the sauce was congealed and broke (where the fats/oils separate from the sauce) and the choice of wheat penne was an unusual one. IMHO, this restaurant suffers the same ills as a lot of other places - too many things. Pick the stuff you do better than everyone else and dump the rest. For instance, Gouda mac & cheese - aside from not actually being macaroni, it was poorly executed. It's a good idea, but I'm going to guess it doesn't have a lot of common ingredients with other items on the menu - so food cost is high. Dump it. Put that effort in to making the crab nachos even better; which were probably the star of the visit. Overall everything was good. Would I return? I'm not sure. read more

The main dinning room is extremely loud. Time for a remodel for sure. Get the garlic fries and the crab cake sandwich. The inside out burger is awesome! read more

Kitchen 519 - The atmosphere is really bad but the food makes up for it. They have a noise issue though. - New American Near Me - Glendora, New Jersey

I only found little gem of a mom & pop small restaurant on Yelp and I don't regret it all. They take American (or at least, Americanized classics from other cuisines) and twist it up in some unique way. Whether it's by making it vegetarian, throwing some different toppings on it, or simply using their freshly baked bread, they go the extra mile and it shows. We got the Garden Veggie Wrap & Vegetarian "Chicken" Parmesan Sandwich for lunch and it was great, with equally great portions for the price (~$7 each). Their garlic parm fries are also fantastic and bonus points for that while they were definitely homemade, it still tasted great. They also appear to have a solid gluten free menu that I couldn't find on their website for some reason, but it was a solid 20 or so items when asked. They also have an interesting brunch menu I'd like to come back for on the weekends one day. If you're looking for something different in Glendora, give Kitchen 519 a try read more

4.5 stars for Kitchen 519. It was great! Anything that starts you off with free carbs in the morning is a win my book. The fresh cranberry mini-muffins that we were offered for the table were DELICIOUS. I wish they were available for purchase because I definitely would have gotten more. We tried: -Buffalo Chicken and Waffles - very good; I would recommend for an entree. -Hand Cut Garlic Fries - SO GOOD - definitely get these! They come with a trio of creative dipping sauces. I am not much of a fries fan usually but these were awesome. -Breakfast Burrito - I didn't try it but my boyfriend said this was a miss for him. Too much rice. Service was good, seating area and restroom both clean. I would absolutely return here for brunch. read more

Found this gem of a place through Yelp for brunch. There's only one entrance and you walk by the kitchen to push home the homemade/from scratch feel of place. Be sure to listen to the specials since both our appetizer and my french toast were only available for a limited time! The service was great, and the owner participates coming to check on the table and refill our water. I knocked a star down because they were out of avocados which knocked a third of their regular breakfast brunch items out, including my anticipated avocado toast. I love the decorations of the place, and all the thought that went into every aspect of the ambiance. Great find! read more

Exploring the area and happened upon Kitchen 519. Seriously, had the best meal since coming to the area. The roasted brussel sprouts were divine in a creamy bacon sauce. The veggie tacos were fresh and tasty. The inside-out burger was absolutley amazing. The best burger I've had in ages. You could tell it was freshly made juicy stuffed with cheddar and crisp bacon. A definite favorite. read more

A very welcoming & friendly vibe from the owners and staff...the physical space is cozy but well laid out, fun and kitschy.... and the menu is creative, interesting & delicious !!! I went on Sunday for brunch. They had a pretty unique menu consisting of fresh ideas like breakfast quesadillas, and chicken & waffles. I think this is a really good change of pace from the typical run of the mill south jersey establishments, so I would definitely recommend a visit. If you go for brunch, you should really try the chicken and waffle. The chicken was perfectly seasoned, crispy and delicious. It's served atop a thick, savory Belgian waffle; drizzled with syrup and lathered with melted butter. They also had a good pumpkin spiced coffee blend that paired well with the meal. I ended here by accident on 12/7 after my regular place was closed. Food was amazing. Service was top notch. Had the grilled Cobi sandwich and calamari as an app. Vince was awesome. Excellent , creative food and great staff. I wish I went more often. The building is a little awkward and not in a walkable area, and the dining room is somewhat loud. Great place for informal family dining. read more

This was our 2nd visit here. The first time was decent, with friendly staff. We thought after several months we'd visit again. We stopped by around 5:30pm and it didn't look too crowded. The young woman at the hostess desk seemed confused when we asked for a table, stating we did not have a reservation. After 5-7min we were seated, but not before she made a comment about how we could have made a reservation. Okay, thanks. We knew we didn't have one, but not the friendly start to the meal we wanted. We ordered a burger and a chicken tomato mozzarella pasta dish. The burger was good, cooked correctly. The pasta dish was lukewarm, oily, and too heavy on the rosemary. So we're 1 for 2 with this place. A third visit is questionable. read more

Kitchen 519 was so delicious and accommodating of our short notice, large party. We had a champagne breakfast bridal shower and they kept the food and drinks full. The sausage was flavorful, bacon, and frittatas cooked perfectly. The crumb cake was moist. We will definitely visit again! read more

We went for a late Sunday brunch. Service was spotty and inconsistent (three different servers introduced themselves and tried to take our order), and we ordered a side of fruit salad for $4 along with our mains; all we received was a small bowl of grapes. If we'd known (or one of the three servers we had) mentioned the fruit would only be grapes we obviously would not have ordered them. I wouldn't recommend this place. Our mains were decent but nothing stellar. read more

My wife and I finally got around to eating here despite it being very close to our house and I can't recommend it highly enough. Alec, our waiter, was very good and attentive and the food was really delicious. Like their website says, this is definitely the caliber of food you expect to find in a big city. I had the caprese chicken pasta and a side of red pepper couscous which was very good. We also had the crab nachos which was almost too much for two people. Will be back. 5* read more

After reading all of the good reviews, we decided to try this place. It definitely didn't live up to the hype. The breaded buffalo cauliflower was really soft almost soggy. The crab cakes was very salty and the presentation looked like some just slapped it on with the cous cous underneath. Ended the night with desert, creme Bru le, and it was just average. Nothing blew our minds away. For the price that we paid for 3 ppl, I probably could have found a better meal elsewhere. read more

Celebrating a birthday . We arrived early and immediately were seated. Tom our server was poised and friendly. First time here. We came for brunch everything was great. We had Coconut crusted French toast, breakfast quesadilla and buffalo chicken and waffles. The food was so so. It lacked salt. But that Peach Green Tea was AMAZING. I would go there just for that tea.

So much for being Fancy! The service was good, the waiter was friendly. The calamari we ordered was just ok. That being said the entrees were way overpriced and such small portions, which was probably the best thing since I couldn't finish my meal. My aunt had fried chicken with biscuits and gravy...she suffered through it. I tried a little taste and could tell that the chicken nor the gravy was seasoned... gross. I ordered A salmon special with a splash of cheese with what was supposed to be a mound of crab. It was more like sprinkled on crab flakes. I felt that the salmon was a bit over cooked the cheese was way too overwhelming and there was not enough crab. The potatoes tasted watery or instant. My stomach just could not handle this food, I thought I was going to bring it up. read more

Very disappointing. I used to really enjoy their food but the last 3 times we tried it we were dissatisfied. The dry fish tacos with salmon as well the fish were horrible and the serving size was very small. We will not go back or recommend. read more

Wow! This place is a hidden gem! I really can't believe there is an upscale restaurant like this in Glendora , NJ. Not that the building is upscale. In fact the restaurant is in a building that is easy to pass by. The kitchen is somewhat open and in the front next to the entrance. But don't let the appearance deceive you, the food is unbelievably good! There was a 30 minute wait on Friday night at 7:00. Reservations are definitely a plus. The service was a little slow as we waited a while for our appetizers and then soup, but it was worth it as the crab quesidilas were delicious! The crab bisque was good. For entrees, the crab cakes were very good! The macadamia crusted chicken was superb! We didn't save room for dessert, but if we had, the dessert menu also looked great! We will definitely be coming back here on out next trip to Grand mom's house. read more

My friends and I were driving home from our weekend trip in NYC, and decided to stop somewhere to eat.. So glad my girlfriend found this place on Yelp. We loved the decor of the restaurant and the ambiance--felt like you were hanging out at your friends kitchen. The food was delicious; I ordered the macadamia crusted chicken (think that's what it was called). And for dessert, my friends and I shared the Creme brûlée! I can't remember our waitress' name, but she was so sweet and accommodating. She knew we had to get back on the road and she had the kitchen rush our orders. Could be great if the kitchen wasn't so careless. We love Kitchen 519 in *theory* - the menu is innovative and the service is warm and friendly. In the evenings the kitchen is usually on point - we've rarely had a mishap. But for lunch or brunch, it is consistently "off" in careless ways. Today, for example, someone decided that green plantains were an acceptable substitute for bananas in the bananas foster French toast (nope), and the lunch special was served with a side of plastic wrapper included. Our last attempt at brunch here featured undercooked chicken and undercooked fries. Never an apology - just "oh". It's a shame, because there's obviously someone creative and talented behind the menu - the execution need to be improved before this place gets any more stars. read more

This place was packed last night. It was the first time we had been here so I'll give you the highlights first. My chicken caprese pasta was really good. My wife thought the crab cake sandwich was also good. The calamari app was different because of the Asian sauce but tasted good also. Everyone also likes the crab nachos. The fried Oreo sundae everyone seemed to like. Now for the few negatives. The grilled ceasar salad is not a taste I cared for. One of the people in our group got the crispy chicken breaded mango and mashed potatoes, they said there was too much breading, the chicken was dry and the potatoes tasted like box potatoes. All in all it was a pleasant evening with a little wait to get seated and you can't beat the price. read more
