Stopped in, spur of the moment, and so glad we did! Service was great. Food was delicious and served quickly. The restaurant had a relaxed, but classy atmosphere. The house salad was perfection. We would definitely come here again and would recommend to others. read more

Always my go to brunch restaurant. Can't go wrong with the buffalo chicken and waffles or the salmon omelette with goat cheese.

Quirky and eclectic ambience! Phenomenal dishes. I had the Korean short ribs, and they were delicious. My mother had the duck and that was excellent, as well. We did not feel rushed despite the restaurant being so small. They were busy, however did not make us feel as though we had to wait for service. They were very attentive, & knowledgeable about the food. read more

I went there on my first Date with my now husband. Good food. Good people. I went again on my first year anniversary. Very pleased.

I gave this restaurant 4stars, because the food is so amazing and they have an innovative menu. However, the service isn't the best. By that I mean, once we had reservations and still waited a very long time, over 45 minutes on a Friday night with reservations, and then they were out of some of the menu items. The second time I was there with a smaller party, only four and it was a Thursday night and They ran into the same problem. Our server the last time was very apologetic, however the first time I was there, he didn't seem concerned and I disappointment. read more

Stress free catering. Told them what I wanted and Kitchen 519 did the rest. Fantastic food with delivery to my home. They set everything up and asked multiple times what else they could do for me. We had the appetizer package, which was perfect for our baby shower. Desserts were included and I even was able to order extra themed cupcakes that Kitchen 519 delivered. Everything was fresh and delicious! read more

Made to orders with everything fresh. A restaurant with unusual dishes if you're bored of Italian food. Also great place for vegetarians!!

Delicious food. Super contemporary, without being pricey. Service was pretty good. The fried Avocado was unique and amazing. Their house blend coffee is a nice dark roast, but not too heavy. The sweet potato curry soup was.... an odd combination. Well made. Just, odd. My wife's Cuban Sandwich was very good. The hand cut garlic fries were absolutely fantastic. Definitely coming back. read more

Came here for brunch with of my girlfriends. They started us off with really really good chocolate chip muffins complimentary. The coffee was really good and I love mine black so it has to genuinely taste good. Service was great, we has Zachary as our server. The meal was excellent, I had huevos rancheros. I would definitely come back, maybe even for dinner next time. read more

We had a wonderful experience at Kitchen 519. Service was excellent and the place is a cute as can be. Very homey and comfortable The artisan bread was very good and our entrees -- an inside out burger and macadamia crusted chicken were delicious. I swapped out potatoes for ferro and it was a great choice. I loved it. We shared the Chocolate Covered Bacon sundae for dessert. I would go back just for that. Smokey, salty and sweet in every bite. We were licking our plate. The only negative I would give would be for the conch fritters offered on the Key West Week Menu. It's an appetizer and cost $13.00 ($2 less than my chicken entree). It was dry and very unappetizing and way, way to expensive. Overall we loved the restaurant and the food and will be back. So glad we ate here. read more

Went to Kitchen 519 first time since Covid. Hoped the chef(s) meals hadn't changed because they were awesome before Covid. Did NOT disappoint ... still the amazing flavor blends and delicious meals we remembered. Key West Tacos=Awesome! Crab cake=Superb! Kudos to this little place with big flavor! read more

This weekend we had kitchen 519 cater our daughters college graduation dinner at our home. We ordered for 25 but easily could have fed more. Everyone lived the variety and selections. They arrived promptly had everything needed for set up and quickly had us ready to serve in no time. We would definitely use them again and would recommend them for their restaurant as well as their catering! read more

I give it a 2 stars because of the service. If the food was bad, it would have gotten 1 star - but the food was good. Granted, we had a big party over 20 people. I called ahead and said we had 15 and they were able to sit us together - some people had to sit on side booths but that's was fine - didn't have a problem with that. Soon afterwards, a party of 10 people also came in. We were seated before that party of 10. By the time we got all our food, that other party (as well as every other table in the whole restaurant ... literally the whole restaurant) got their food, finished their food, and were on dessert when we got just started getting our food. The kids on that other table were being served ice cream when I just got my food. We did not order appetizers. It LITERALLY took over 1 hour and 10 minutes before anyone on our table was served any food - remember no appetizers so we just sat there for over an hour. Now the additional people who trickled in came about 20 minutes after we did so they sat on side booths. The waitress said they waited to take ALL the orders before submitting it to the chef. Mind you, everyone at the main table already gave their food orders before those additional people came. So I'm not sure why the server would wait to submit orders. After all said and done, that means the server did not submit a single order until 30-40 minutes from the moment the first order was voiced to the server. The only saving grace was that the food was good. Some of the fries that were served were cold. Which tells me that the food was sitting in back for a few. With no appetizers, calling ahead to say we had a big party, i don't see any excuse as to why ALL THE PEOPLE in the restaurant who arrived after we did to be served food before we were served a single dish. And believe me we noticed it - food coming out the door but all going to other people even though we came before they did. Not good. read more

Went here for an early dinner on a Saturday night. Would love to say that the idea of the place is pretty neat. You actually walk in the front door and right through the kitchen followed by a room that looks like a retro kitchen complete with props, which then leads to the actual restaurant. The food is another story. We ordered the hummus trio as an appetizer, which was black bean, carrot, and sriracha served with cucumbers and pita. I'm not a huge fan of pita, so I asked if they could just add more cucumber. The server said no problem. Five minutes later, he came back to say they had run out of cucumbers so they were going to serve it with carrot and celery. No problem. It took almost 20 minutes to get this appetizer and when it finally arrived, there was a mix of cucumber, carrot, pita, and a pungent smell of fish. My friend took a piece of pita and scooped up some hummus, but immediately put it back down on the plate. Every piece of pita smelled like fish. I love seafood but the smell was enough to make you nauseous. We put all the bread in a side plate and told the server. Did we get a new batch of bread or some extra veggies? No. He came back to say the chef was sorry and that they grill fish on the same stove they toast the pita on and they normally clean it. Obviously not this time. I really couldn't believe that they told us that. That said, the hummus was really good even if the sriracha was just plain hummus with a little squirt of hot sauce on top. The carrot was the best. Very good. I ordered the grilled salmon for dinner which came with a side of mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetable. When our dinners were served, the server asked if I was a vegetarian. I'm not. Apparently the new seasonal vegetable was just changed and he forgot to inform me it was a shredded squash cooked with pork ragu. I'm not a chef, but this sounds like a thrown together item. "Hm, we ran out of our vegetable, so what do I have around here that I can make our new side?" Even though I'm not a vegetarian, I'm not a pork fan, but I didn't mind. I took one bite of the squash and it tasted like a pork chop. I plopped it on a side plate. The mashed potatoes were very good. The salmon was completely over salted. It was even crusty in some parts. That's how much salt was on it. I don't really understand how a cook messes up a simple grilled salmon, but the cook at Kitchen 519 managed to do it. My friend got the Caprese Chicken Pasta and said it was just okay. Nothing great, nothing bad. When the check came out, I thought maybe they had taken a percentage off the hummus. Or maybe, at least, they wouldn't charge us for our iced teas or the side salad my friend ordered with his pasta. Not at all. Full charge for everything. This restaurant is one room and it gets extremely loud. There were two big tables set up in the middle of the room and by the time we left, we had been almost boxed in from the workers setting up a table of six people very close to our booth. We had to squeeze through the back of the chairs to get out. I had been to Kitchen 519 for breakfast once before and I have to say that food was great. However, I don't quite understand why this place is always so packed for dinner. It's nothing to write home about. There are hundreds of better BYOB's in the area. I'm the type of person who genuinely enjoys food and the restaurant experience, but it's hard to say many positive things about this place. If I ever go back, I'd go for breakfast. read more

Ordered Calamari and they said the didnt have any so the called and asked if i would like to replace it or take it off the order, when i got there this chick charge me for it and when i asked about it she made a new recipt and denied charging me it. holding on to that $12 like okay! read more

So this place has been on mine and my boyfriends top 5 to try list for at least a year if not two years. We have been frequenting the bakery 519 next door for some time and love their stuff. I would recommend making a reservation first just because it does get busy here. Opentable usually has a few time slots available a few hours before. Service was really great, super friendly and full of personality. The complimentary bread and oil was a great touch and super fresh. I ordered the gouda mac and cheese and my boyfriend ordered the inside out burger. The mac and cheese was good but maybe I was just starving because portion size seemed a little on the smaller size. Or maybe it was so good I just wanted more? Bring a jacket because it was FREEZING in there. That was probably my biggest con for this place was that it was so cold my food was a little cold after only a few minutes. Overall it is a great place and I would go back (with a jacket)! read more

Nice cozy place with an original menu. Staff was friendly and portions were good. We will go back.

After seeing there was a special menu week, my husband and I recently made reservations and dined there. The service at Kitchen 519 was great and we loved the food! From our appetizer to our dessert, we were constantly commenting about the fresh and flavorful meal. His thick and juicy pork chop was perfectly cooked and attractively served, as was my delicious glazed salmon steak. We were sorry that we didn't bring a few dinner guests to help share this very nice meal. The only catch to the evening, was that when we arrived, there were so many guests laughing and socializing that we were a few minutes late in being seated. However, the hostess apologized and we were given drinks and refreshing bites to ease the short wait and in turn we were not rushed at all during or after our meal. We both agree that we can't wait to return. read more

Two Gems Within One Square Mile (From March 9, 2018) The town of Glendora, NJ is just 1 square mile in size, but it is home to 2 amazing gems; The Cookie Jar House, And Kitchen 519. We picked Kitchen 519 completely at random, and we struck gold. We were looking for an American Food restaurant near Scottish Rite Auditorium, and decided to give Kitchen 519 a try. We arrived on time for our dinner reservation and we were seated immediately. This is a single room that seats maybe 50 people. Open floor plan, bright, cheerful and welcoming. Great, eclectic works of art & sculptures throughout the room, it was colorful and vibrant. The hostess station held little buckets filled with crayons for the kids. (Or Adults) There were stacks of trivial pursuit cards on each table. We thought, "this is a fun place"! We were greeted by a tall, friendly waiter named Zach. We asked him about the 519, and he gave us a brief history. Seems this was formerly a pasta distributor, and 4 years ago the new owners turned it into a restaurant. They have done a great job. We started with a seltzer, a pinot grigio, and the artisanal cheese plate. All of the wine was provided by a local vineyard, Bellview. Cheddar & Artegano were good, Smoked Gouda was great and the Blue Cheese was Incredible Stinky, Moldy Goodness. Hoisin Calamari was crispy outside & tender inside, with a very nice tangy dipping sauce. Great starters. I had macadamia encrusted chicken with sweet mango salsa. OMG; Flavorful, great aroma, and delicious. The mango salsa was amazing! Diane had sustainable blue cobia from panama. It was served with mashed sweet potatoes, onions & pine nuts. This was a nice blend of salty & sweet, creamy & crunchy. We loved all of it. You should check out this hidden treasure NOW. Soon it will be so popular, you will have to get a reservation weeks in advance. Be sure to check out the COOKIE JAR HOUSE when you are in the neighborhood. read more

I've been here several times, and it really is a good place, especially if you have a mixed crowd of meat eaters and vegans / vegetarians. They have lots of vegetarian and vegan options, and even have a little vegan menu for dinner. The place is bigger than it looks like from the outside. It has a vaguely cafe-esque atmosphere. There's art that's for sale hanging on the walls--always nice to see a place that promotes local artists. There's also little trivia cards at every table, which is cute--might be nice for a first date that's going a little awkwardly. I've so far tried their vegetarian cheese steak with their garlic fries, and their vegan chicken parmigiana. The cheese steak was a little bit on the skimpy side but had a good flavor to it. I imagine there are better vegetarian or even vegan cheese steaks in Philly, but I think it'll do for most vegetarians in South NJ who don't want to go into the city. The garlic fries on the side were excellent. The chicken parmigiana was really good too. The faux chicken was really convincing--the taste was spot on and the texture was only a little bit more chewy than regular chicken. I kind of wish they had vegan chicken and waffles using the same faux chicken, really. My boyfriend has had their BLAT sandwich, which he says is the best BLAT he's ever had, and their Inside Out burger. I think he likes their food even more than me. I really do think this place is awesome, so check it out. read more

What a wonderful find this restaurant is! After looking at Yelp reviews for restaurants in the area, Kitchen 519 really stood out. This is a neat little place. My waiter was nothing short of phenomenal and the meal was positively superb. My dinner began with a grilled Caesar salad - undoubtedly the best I have ever had. I followed this with a macadamia crusted chicken with beurre blanc sauce, which was equally good. The chicken was so tender that I could cut it with a fork. From what I could see of other patrons, many chose to bring in their own wine or other alcoholic beverage, but I ordered a nice wine from the area. Fantastic food, excellent service, a pleasant atmosphere, and a very reasonable price for the meal - in other words a perfect 10! read more

Kitchen 519 - An absolutely perfect grilled Caesar salad! - New American Near Me - Glendora, New Jersey

Macadamia nut crusted chicken tasted good. Trendy, and juicy chicken, crispy & rather delicious. Big enough to serve as a solid main dish.... Gouda mac-n-cheese was super tasty (the side-dish size). The pasta was a tad undercooked, but the flavor surpassed any criticism. Good stuff... Fried avocado was refreshing & yummy. The taste of the food didn't burst, but I assume it's because the food isn't covered in salt. It is a welcome trade-off. I ordered takeout & was greeted by a friend group of servers. In the land of blah pizza, dunkin doughnuts, and chain restaurants, Kitchen 519 was a good find. I'll be back! read more

Excellent local restaurant, with fresh food and great service. Wish they had more booths. I prefer a booth to regular tables and hard chairs. Looks so quiet on the outside, I would not have guessed there is a busy restaurant inside. The menu is adaptable even for a pescetarian, who eats seafood, but no other terrestrial creatures. Pricey, but I don't mind paying for quality. I would prefer people leave their little kids at home when dining at a nice restaurant like this one. In a small dining room, having to hear little kids acting up can get rather annoying for other paying customers trying to enjoy a nice evening. I want to try their bakery soon. read more

This place is always so good ! Anything I've tried I love ! Great date night spot to go last minute !

I love this place so much! I find myself having dinner here quite often. I always order the vegan chicken parmigiana, which is delicious. They have a few more vegan options on the menu, which I absolutely love. The restaurant itself offers a small cozy environment, equipped with an amazing staff. Everyone is very warm and patient there, it seems. Food allergens are printed on the menu for guests to view, however the chef will indeed work with you if you'd like to customize your order any further. I last visited kitchen 519 about a week ago. Due to a change of plans, my date and I had to find someone to eat quickly, and being that it was getting a bit late, we weren't left with too many options. We called up the restaurant just to verify they were still open and if it'd be possible to grab a table. I could tell the employee was a bit annoyed, with good reason, but he told us to head in. When we arrived there were still two tables that were occupied. They were finishing up, chatting a bit. Our waiter quickly approached us and we ordered. We came prepared. After ordering, our meal came out in record timing, but you would've thought we'd waited a good while for it. Everything was delicious! As always. As we were eating I noticed the time and realized they were now officially closed, so I asked for a to-go box. Our waitress wrapped up my food and we were on our way. I felt so bad making the staff stay. Thank you for putting up with us. You guys are amazing! Would definitely recommend. read more

I told the waiter that I had a gluten allergy so he told me my only lunch option was the veggie tacos with corn tortillas (and no tortilla chips since they didn't have a gluten free fryer). The food had absolutely no flavor. What was worse is that I immediately needed to throw up after finishing my tacos. DO NOT go here if you have a gluten allergy or sensitivity (or if you enjoy flavor). read more

Kitchen 519 would be a really good restaurant in any town. But it stands out even more in an area without many interesting dining choices. We visited on a Sunday afternoon and found the hummus trio, chicken tacos, and crab cake burger to all exceed expectations. Service was good, and prices were reasonable, too. Only the cappuccino was mundane and small for $4.50. I'm not in the neighborhood often, but I will keep it in mind for return visits. read more

I was looking forward to discovering a new hidden gem. I had read very good reviews and truly anticipated an enjoyable meal. The server talked a little too much for my liking, I am not a fan of "my personal favorite" and I dislike it even more when it is used to describe multiple items. The one menu item that really appealed to me was the duck, wouldn't you guess that they were out of it. The gazpacho was good but not memorable. The crab cake was fine but nothing I would come back for. Decent restaurant but definitely not a hidden gem or one I would run back to again. read more
